There are roughly a thousand ways to roll out a new analytics platform, a BI tool migration, or an AI initiative to your organization. Most of them involve a town hall, an email with a link to some training materials, and the quiet hope that everyone figures it out. Most of them also don't really work. On this episode, Yehonatan Schwarzmer joined Michael, Val, and Tim to bring some long-overdue organizational change management thinking into the analytics conversation. Yehonatan has the unusual combination of real-world experience in both change management consulting and data leadership, which makes him exactly the right person to explain why the technical rollout is the easy part. The harder part is understanding that when someone says "this tool doesn't have what I need," they might really be saying "I was the hero in the old system and I don't know who I'll be in the new one." The Kübler-Ross grief model shows up. Psychological safety shows up (reluctantly). And Val's question about who analysts should recruit to help them manage change at scale almost gets answered. Dusty Imoo was once ranked as the number one ice hockey goalie prospect in the world. His statistics were beyond incredible .., and then "life happened". Dusty began realizing the pressures that were being placed upon him at an age where no-one knew how to help support and guide those having to deal with the pressures of being an elite athlete. Over time, these various forms of pressure became greater than that which a young athlete, living on own, in foreign environment should have to handle at a young age (15-18 years of age).As an athlete, Dusty has put together a professional career in Japan that is beyond impressive. HIs elevation into that of becoming a professional goalie coach has been even more impressive - as he has trained professionals in the most elite leagues in the world (ie., NHL, KHL, AHL, and WHL). But it is not his technical teachings that goalies have been most drawn to him for - it's his ability to help create an inner calm within those he works with that has made him so very sought-after. So much so, that the list of elite professionals whom he has worked with is both long and impressive.Today, Dusty works with not only goalies but those within a wide variety of sports as well as those within the world of business (ie., corp executives, directors ...). But a really cool stat that Dusty Imoo has is equal to that of the Legendary play - Gordie Howe ... Dusty was able to backup for his son Jonah Imoo in a professional game. Making this the first and only Father-Son goaltending combination to appear in a progressional ice hockey game.Dusty Imoo - Contact information:www.thegoalietherapist.com

We also cover major internal and global developments impacting Israel: as U.S. Senate Democrats increasingly oppose arms sales to Israel, a controversial case involving an IDF reservist who was detained after killing a Hamas operative in Samaria, and new immigration data showing tens of thousands of Jews continuing to make aliyah despite ongoing conflict. With regional instability, shifting alliances, and ideological battles intensifying, even as a new generation of Israeli youth are grabbing hold of Jewish identity in a way not seen for thousands of years. One of the best guides to food variety is colour. And for colour, there's a group of natural plant chemicals called anthocyanins that are getting a lot of attention for their potential benefits on the brain. Anthocyanins are the pigments that give red, purple, and blue plants their rich colouring – they literally put the ‘blue' into blueberries. A few years back on this podcast, I took you through the science of anthocyanins and brain health. In this episode, I'm revisiting that story with new research. Send a textMany school gardens are started with the best of intentions by dedicated, caring parents. Yet again and again, these gardens struggle or fail within a short time. Why does this happen, and what should parents actually do if they want to support a thriving school garden? In this episode, Leila Mireskandari draws on over a decade of experience working with schools to explain a hard but essential truth: school gardens are educational programs, not parent run projects. Because of this, they must be led by teachers and integrated into classroom learning, not created or managed by well meaning volunteers.Leila shares why even highly skilled gardeners or enthusiastic parent groups cannot substitute for teacher leadership in a school garden. Growing food at school is fundamentally different from home or community gardening. It requires alignment with curriculum, classroom schedules, and the realities of teaching time, expertise that teachers have and outside volunteers typically do not.You will also learn why building a garden for teachers rarely leads to success, and why the most effective school gardens actually begin indoors, in classrooms, with students growing seedlings and learning hands on before any outdoor beds are created. So what can parents do? The answer may surprise you. Instead of leading or building gardens themselves, parents play a powerful supporting role, helping teachers access training, resources, and ongoing support so they can confidently lead garden based learning with their students. If you are a parent, or a teacher working with parent volunteers, this episode clarifies roles, avoids common pitfalls, and lays out the proven pathway to a sustainable, curriculum connected school garden that lasts for years. In this episode, you will learn:Why most parent led school gardens failThe critical difference between school gardens and other school facilitiesWhy teacher leadership is essential for long term successHow school gardens should actually begin, hint, not outdoorsThe most helpful role parents can play in supporting school gardensResources mentioned:Explore the Oasis school garden lesson plan series, link in show notesHear detailed program explanations in Episode 72The Oasis programs provide teachers with step by step lesson plans, classroom ready growing guides, and ongoing support to successfully integrate food growing into curriculum connected learning. If you are a parent who wants a school garden at your child's school, or a teacher navigating parent enthusiasm, this episode will help you focus energy where it truly makes a difference.Listen now to discover how parents and teachers can work together, without crossing roles, to grow school gardens that actually thrive.

What does it take to go from childhood dreams of building a Terminator robot to leading AI innovation at Intel? Karenga Ross's remarkable journey offers a masterclass in career development that combines technical expertise with business acumen, authentic relationship-building, and a willingness to embrace the unknown. As Intel's Senior Director shaping the future of data center AI, Karinga shares how unexpected pivots became her greatest assets—from abandoning mechanical engineering after a challenging thermodynamics course to discovering her leadership voice at Coca-Cola where she was first challenged to articulate her personal brand. Her candid reflections reveal how saying "yes" to opportunities, even when they required significant life changes, opened doors she never imagined possible. For women intimidated by fields like AI and data center engineering, Karinga offers refreshingly accessible advice, demystifying complex technical concepts by connecting them to everyday experiences. "Don't be intimidated; be curious," she emphasizes, explaining that companies hire for aptitude and willingness to learn—not complete mastery of every technical detail. This perspective transforms imposing career paths into approachable possibilities.Perhaps most valuable is Karinga's evolved understanding of leadership essentials often overlooked in technical fields—strategic vision-building, cross-cultural communication, and the courage to ask for help. She reveals her personal strategy development process, which includes scheduled time away from digital distractions to think clearly among trees, and how discovering that people genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge transformed her approach to networking from something that felt like "schmoozing" to building authentic relationships based on mutual support. As AI continues transforming industries, Karinga provides practical guidance for both early-career professionals and those facing potential displacement. Her approach to continuous learning—currently pursuing a PhD in business leadership while leading at Intel—embodies her philosophy: "If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready." This conversation is essential listening for anyone navigating technical careers with ambitions beyond coding.Support the show When you subscribe to the podcast, you are supporting our work's mission, allowing us to continue highlighting successful women in a variety of careers to inspire others helping pay our wonderful editor, Chris, and helping me in paying our hosting expenses.
