De BBB-mevrouw is een mediacreatuur. De media zijn bezig om haar groot te maken. Net zoals ze ook Thierry Baudet groot hebben gemaakt. Maarten vertelt dat de BBB-mevrouw eerst tegen die Afghanen had gestemd. Nu ligt het even anders in de media (lees: we hebben nu even medelijden - zal niet zo heel lang duren) en nu heeft de BBB-mevrouw er ineens vóór gestemd en is ze woedend. Het geeft wel een beetje aan: Er zit geen enkele consistentie in de BBB-mevrouw. Het is helemaal niks. Allemaal flauwekul voor de bühne. Ook aandacht die andere gekkie: Donald Trump. Joe Biden heeft daar ook een bijdrage aan geleverd, maar dat ligt vooral aan het optreden van Trump. Wat je nergens meer leest, is dat Trump een deal met de Taliban gemaakt heeft begin 2020. De plaats Harskamp haalde deze week op een negatieve manier de headlines. Inwoners gingen de straat op om te protesteren tegen het plan om Afghaanse asielzoekers in het Veluws dorpje op te vangen. En dat ging op een lelijke, schaamteloze manier met racistische leuzen en brandstichting. Joram kijkt er met afschuw naar en vraagt zich af of hij nog wel het nieuws wil volgen. De EO-presentator verwijst naar een filmpje dat viral ging waarin Afghaanse vluchtelingen 'landverraders' en 'NSB'ers' worden genoemd. "Als je op zo'n manier praat, dan is er geen gesprek, laat staan naastenliefde mogelijk."  Cocky geeft reformatorische scholen die homoseksualiteit als een aandoening zien onder uit de zak. Deze week probeerde De Gomarus Scholengemeenschap uit Gorinchem een Inspectierapport tegen te houden waaruit blijkt dat het met de homo-acceptatie droevig gesteld is. Zo werden leerlingen gedwongen uit de kast te komen. De relatiecoach zegt dat er op zulke scholen geen godsdienstvrijheid is. "Eerder religieuze indoctrinatie." Van Joram mag de school wel een tijdje dicht. En Sjirk legt uit dat verplicht vaccineren een heel slecht idee is. Demissionair premier Rutte is geen voorstander, maar sluit het niet helemaal uit. Gaan wij misschien ook de kant op dat zorgpersoneel verplicht een prik moet zetten?

Zeker zes Amerikaanse staten stemmen niet volledig in met het voorstel van het medisch bedrijf Johnson & Johnson (J&J) en drie medicijnendistributeurs om voor 26 miljard dollar (22 miljard euro) te schikken in de opiatencrisis. Verdienen aan verslaving. In het buitenland zijn de protesten hoorbaar van de Harskamp-betogers. Afghanen die niet weten waar ze aan toe zijn. Niets om trots op te zijn. Suriname telt in totaal ongeveer twintigduizend oorspronkelijke bewoners, verdeeld over ongeveer vijftig - soms zeer afgelegen - dorpen. Sommigen moesten wijken voor ‘het geld en de exploitatie van grondstoffen'. Het Inter-Amerikaans Hof voor de Rechten van de Mens (IAHRM) bepaalde dat hun mensen- en eigendomsrechten zijn geschonden. Suriname moest volgens het vonnis uiterlijk 2019 1 miljoen dollar (ongeveer 850.000 euro) storten in een gemeenschapsontwikkelingsfonds. Twee van de dorpen die via het fonds schadevergoeding krijgen zijn Lagamankondre en Christiaankondre. Inwoners van de dorpen lieten in 2016 in reactie op het vonnis weten het belangrijk te vinden dat hun leefgebied wordt beschermd. Jagermeister droomt intussen verder in de reclame, alsof er niets aan de hand is in deze wereld, ‘Excitement lies in the unknown'. Voor heel veel mensen is ‘the unkown' zeer beangstigend en onzeker. Daarin staat volgens De Winther niet helemaal de waarheid: “Als er één ding niet klopt is het het beeld dat dit allemaal in goed overleg gebeurt”. Waarom is de verontwaardiging nu niet zo groot als bij Trump? Wordt er te eenzijdig bericht over Biden? Zou het kritischer moeten? Het mediamoment van Riemsma gaat over een verhaal dat Tubantia vorige week publiceerde. Het verhaal had grote gevolgen voor de geïnterviewde, ze werd belaagd. Het betrof een docente die alleen gevaccineerde studenten wilde. Wordt het daardoor steeds lastiger om mensen te vinden die hun verhaal willen doen? Is het een optie om die mensen anoniem op te voeren? Gisteravond werd er gedemonstreerd bij de plek waar Afghanen worden opgevangen in Harskamp. 'Eigen volk eerst' vonden de demonstranten… Ondertussen melden het Rode Kruis en Vluchtelingenwerk dat ze worden overspoeld met mensen die willen helpen. Is de demonstratie in de juiste context gezet in de media? Er zijn mensen die zich zorgen maken, maar ook mensen die willen helpen. Hoe zorg je voor een balans voor beide kanten van het verhaal? Pieter Klein van RTL Nieuws schreef over de demonstratie: 'Mede mogelijk gemaakt door politici die amper worden tegengesproken en het laffe politieke midden dat zwijgt. Angst regeert'. Heeft hij een punt? De formatie is nog op volle gang, maar wat er precies besproken wordt blijft gissen, want op het Binnenhof regende het weer ontwijkende en nietszeggende antwoorden, legde Nieuwsuur vast. Hoe kunnen journalisten nu voorkomen dat ze maar lege woorden blijven verzamelen?
