Want er is een kans dat zijn Republikeinse partij zetels verliest. ‘Stop the steal’ is een strijdkreet die nog wel een seizoen meekan. Aparte man, deze kampioen-nieuwsmaker. Je moet goed zoeken om een staatshoofd te vinden dat in zijn kerstboodschap de volgende zin gebruikte: ‘Gelukkig kerst voor iedereen, inclusief het tuig van Radicaallinks dat alles in het werk stelt om ons Land te vernietigen en daarin ernstig faalt’. De man die zegt 8 oorlogen te hebben beëindigd, waaronder een niet bestaande tussen Egypte en Ethiopië, al hebben ze ruzie over een stuwdam, een oorlog in Congo die nog steeds voortwoedt, een mysterieuze tussen Servië en Kosovo. Afrobeat Rebellion, c'est le titre de l'exposition consacrée à Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Ouverte jusqu'à fin décembre 2025 à Lagos au Nigeria, cette exposition, avec une offre enrichie, est la suite de celle qui a eu lieu à la Philharmonie de Paris en octobre 2022, au musée de la Musique à Paris. Afrobeat Rebellion qui a lieu en plein cœur de la capitale nigériane, présente une multitude de documents d'archives, allant de photographies et d'effets personnels à des enregistrements audio originaux. Avec plus de 350 objets rares, des installations immersives et un riche programme de spectacles, de conférences et de films, ce projet historique retrace l'héritage et le parcours de Fela, de musicien à icône politique. Chapeau feutre sombre et tenue en lin dégradé bleu indigo, Ade Bantu affiche un sourire solaire. Son oncle Tola Odukoya est l'auteur d'une des attractions d'Afrobeat Rebellion : une série de photos en noir et blanc de Fela prises dans les années 60. Des clichés découverts par Ade, il y a 10 ans, chez Tola, son oncle, et par hasard... « On y voit Fela tenant la trompette, son tout premier instrument. Mon oncle a également des photos de Felo posant à côté de sa voiture personnelle. On y voit les difficultés d'un musicien en devenir dans son petit véhicule, où il doit ranger ses instruments et sans compter ses musiciens en passager. Ce sont les débuts d'une carrière emblématique », explique-t-il. Un peu plus loin, Kola Onosoya se tient loin des regards. Il est pourtant le dernier percussionniste de Fela. Toujours membre du groupe Egypt 80, Kola reste marqué par la pensée et l'engagement du roi de l'Afrobeat. Pour Kola, une exposition internationale consacrée à son leader spirituel est une douce revanche. « De son vivant, beaucoup de gens ne croyaient pas en Fela. Mais après sa mort, beaucoup de parents qui n'avaient jamais autorisé leurs enfants à aller voir Fela en concert viennent maintenant aux expositions consacrées à Fela... Et comprennent enfin ce que Fela voulait dire », estime-t-il. Amplifier la voix et la musique non conformistes de Fela, c'est l'objectif d'Abba Makama. Curateurs des films et vidéos projetés dans cette exposition, Abba estime que l'influence de Fela est universelle. Comme celle de l'écrivain Ernest Hemingway ou encore du dramaturge William Shakespeare. « Les Américains vénèrent Hemingway. Les Britanniques vouent un culte à Shakespeare. Nous devons porter Fela Kuti au même niveau, voire plus haut. Parce qu'Hemingway et Shakespeare ont créé des œuvres d'art intemporelles. Fela a créé une musique unique, l'Afrobeat. Mais il était aussi politique. Il était révolutionnaire Le Nigeria célèbre les politiciens comme des rock stars. Les jeunes n'ont pas suffisamment de figures emblématiques vers lesquelles se tourner », regrette-t-il. Au Québec, la majorité des professionnels en exercice sont en effet des salariés. Ils se trouvent conséquemment en situation de double statuts: professionnel et salarié. Ils ont un devoir de loyauté envers leur Ordre professionnel et un devoir de loyauté envers leur employeur.   Dans un tel contexte, la loi, la jurisprudence et la doctrine pointent vers la priorisation du premier de ces statuts (le professionnalisme), et rappellent aux principaux concernés leurs obligations envers le public. Pourtant, dans les faits et sur le terrain, les professionnels en exercice ont tendance à prioriser le second de ces statuts, et leurs obligations envers leur employeur.   Pourquoi?   Cette tension et cet équilibre semblent effectivement menacés par un autre problème important dans l'exercice de la profession: l'effritement sinon la disparition de l'identité professionnelle. En effet, « après (seulement) un an dans leur premier emploi, les jeunes professionnels restent conscients de leurs devoirs envers leurs clients mais ne mentionnent plus leurs devoirs envers la société (Solbrekke, 2007 : 492). Sur le terrain, dès lors que le professionnel aura trouvé un employeur, l'identité professionnelle laisse de plus en plus de place à l'identité corporative et aux objectifs choisis et promus par son principal client: son employeur.   Cet effritement de l'identité professionnelle gomme en outre l'existence même de ce que les experts en éthique organisationnelle nomment «conflit de loyautés», en faisant tranquillement disparaître une des parties importantes du dilemme: la loyauté envers un Ordre professionnel, et les devoirs et obligations professionnels qui en découlent. Osvaldo begehrte die Taufe und setzte die Wendemarke seiner Umkehr. »Es ist so wichtig, sein Vertrauen ganz auf Jesus zu setzen!«, sagte er seinen Urenkeln am Beckenrand.Osvaldo, Chapeau! Leider ist North bei weitem nicht der einzige Promi-Sprössling, der in Sachen Styling unserer Auffassung nach deutlich über die Stränge schlägt. Auch bei Carmen (12, Tochter von Alec Baldwin), Blue Ivy (13, Tochter von Beyonce) und Sophia (10, Tochter von Daniela Katzenberger) kann man eigentlich wirklich nur verzweifelt an die Vernunft eines Elternteils appellieren - und dann ebenso verzweifelt den Kopf schütteln! Wer mitschütteln will: Viel Freude beim Zuhören!

Car si la mode a trop souvent relégué le chapeau au rang d'accessoire décoratif, Atours s'échine à rappeler qu'il fut — et demeure — un langage en soi.Nous évoquerons ensemble les plus grands noms de la chapellerie, ces artisans et artistes de l'ombre dont les créations, parfois plus sculpturales que portables, sont de véritables condensés d'époque. En dat kán, want Amerika is wel de grootste, maar niet de enige economie ter wereld. Het Amerikaanse handelstekort met allerhande landen is het gevolg van de behoefte aan buitenlandse producten, omdat die niet alleen vaak goedkoper zijn, maar ook beter. Toyota is de bestverkochte auto ter wereld, en een van de beste, maar door Japan met een heffing van 25 procent te treffen gaan de Amerikanen niet plotseling over op een minder degelijke Amerikaanse auto. De tactiek is slim. Eerst dreigen met een absurde heffing, dan uitstel, dan onderhandelen, en dan zijn landen dolblij als ze er met een Amerikaanse minimumheffing van ‘maar’ tien procent vanaf komen. The Tour De France is the biggest bike race in the world in terms of exposure and the sheer number of eyeballs watching the action but, at just over 3000k, it's dwarfed by the monster that is the Tour Divide.  A much smaller spectacle, with supporters watching dots on a screen rather than glossy TV coverage, but at 4000k in length and the added challenge of racing entirely self supported across the entire USA, The Divide is arguably the toughest race going.  If you caught last month's Chronicles, you'll know that Sveino was gearing up to head to the start in Banff, Canada, with 200 or so other crazy riders and tackle this absolute monster of a race. Well, Sveino's back home after having a stab at the Tour Divide and in this month's chronicles ep we're unpacking just what went down along the Continental Divide.  Sveino gave it his all, and prepped for this race like he was a full time pro again! But, in the world of bike racing, you can be totally prepared and still get thrown a curveball. In the words of Mike Tyson: “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.”  What happened to Svein out there? Well, you'll have to listen to find out. Sveino, mate, fair play for giving it a crack - what an epic journey.  The race was eventually won by Swiss ultra racing legend Robin Gemperle who absolutely smoked the record and finished in 11 days, 19 hours, and 14 minutes.
