Hey Everybody! Welcome back to another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. If you've been watching the YouTube channel lately, you might've seen one of our more popular videos was about preventing flat tires and we tested a few different brands and different things just to see which one actually works. The best, and I guess you could say the winner from that video is a guest on the podcast today. So if you want to know how to prevent flats, this is the place to be. Once again, I am Kyle Chittock, The Owner of Bolton Ebikes, and this is the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. In today's episode you'll learn more about: What propelled FlatOut into the ebike market What makes FlatOut different from other popular sealants on the market and why you may want to switch if you haven't already. What does affect it and the science behind why.  What tubes he recommends to prevent flats.  Why latex is a common ingredient found in other sealants and how that might be causing some issues.  Why it's very important to prevent flats before you're in a situation where you're stuck.  Why FlatOut is superior to what you might be used to. Thank you for listening to the Bolton Ebikes Podcast.  I hope you learned something as usual and do what Kelly said. Use this as a preventative measure. If you don't want flats, FlatOut has worked very well in my test. So far, it's the best product that I can recommend. I'm your host, Kyle Chittock, the owner of Bolton Ebikes and always trying to either hopefully teach you something about electric bikes or share with you an idea I have that might improve. The situation with electric bikes. I might need your feedback on this idea. This is the first time I'm sharing it publicly. So stick around. I think this is going to be really interesting. In today's episode you'll learn more about: Why getting a simple repair done at a local bike shop has been taking a lot more time lately. What do you need to work on your bike if you can't get a bike shop to assist you? Is it worth it to drive a few hours to get your ebike repaired or worth it to do it yourself.  What we do to work with local bike shops when further assistance is required beyond our technical support via email and phone.  How we are going to empower you to repair your ebike without the added expense of purchasing a tool you may never use again.  Tell us if you like the idea or have any questions, concerns, thoughts, and suggestions to info@boltonebikes with the subject “Podcast on Tool Library”. My Guest today is Jean McGhee. Jean and her Husband Shawn acquired Hollywood Feed in 2005, and it is the fastest-growing pet retail store in the Country with 106 stores. As you know, the Covid pandemic caused many changes, but one of those is a significant increase in the amount of Pet Owners around the USA. Currently, 67% of households have a pet in the USA, and that number is only expected to increase. This is a great episode where we cover: Who says you can't go from a stay at home to a fast-growing start-up Why the pet industry follows the human heart Building a company of talent and helping people find their role to succeed Why pet adoption matters  And more! Jessica was the first person I hired at Bolton Ebikes and handles everything behind the scenes at the podcast and the YouTube channel, and a lot of other stuff has never been on the podcast.  We're not going to talk necessarily about what Jessica does as much as a trail system in an area in Arizona. So we'll get into that in just a minute. In today's episode you'll learn more about:  What is The Loop and what does it offer within the city of Tucson, Arizona? What is advertised with Pima County as being allowed and not allowed? What are people saying on Facebook to voice their concerns based on their experience and need for an ebike. What happens if you ride an ebike on the loop? Is there anything being done to allow ebikers access to The Loop more often?  What has Jess so fired up and what is she encouraging you all to do to join her?   Thanks again for listening to the Bolton Ebikes Podcast, I do want to throw a little plug out for e bike search dot com. Why The Bunch Bike is kind of the SUV or minivan replacement of the ebike world. How to easily store these ebikes and ways this style can accommodate your needs as a family.  Why having this type of bike is fantastic if you are looking to take the kids to the park for the afternoon or on a trip where they may not want to ride their own bikes back.  What is coming next for Bunch Bikes and how you can convert any bike you have in about 10 minutes.  What show was Bunch Bikes on that led to more success in their company to share their mission with the world.  Thank you once again for listening to the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. Hey Everybody! Welcome back to another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. I'm Kyle Chittock, your host of Bolton Ebikes Podcast and of course, the owner of Bolton Ebikes. One common question I get is people wanting to know if they can add a second battery to their ebikes. So if you want to know all about parallel batteries, how to connect a second battery to your bike, and what does that mean, then this is the place to be.  This is the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. In today's episode you'll learn more about:  How can you get more range with your ebike and is it possible to mount a second battery on your ebike in parallel? What does a parallel battery connector do? How does that parallel connector work and where can you get one? Kyle breaks down the inside info into batteries and how they work on their own and together. When batteries that are equal capacity, equal voltage and in parallel, not in series - how does that affect the range and performance? How to avoid unsafe conditions with using two batteries.  Why it's a bad idea to wire something yourself if you don't know what you're doing, as it can cause batteries to explode and/or catch fire.  Thanks again for listening to another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast.  I appreciate you for listening and being here again. I want to remind you about our new website! Ebikesearch.com. If you haven't signed up already during these initial stages, it is. Only. So you got to go to invite dot ebike search dot com to sign up. I wanted to have him back to talk about that film, but I also wanted to dig deeper into his beginnings as a Documentarian, and also Da 5 Bloods...which Tom shot…because I wanted to talk about his relationship with Spike Lee, and also remember the extraordinary Chadwick Boseman…and Tom doesn't disappoint…let's get to it, enjoy!

Hey Everybody! Welcome back to another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. I am Kyle Chittock, your host, and the owner of Bolton Ebikes. And I love getting people on the show from other bicycle companies. So today I've got an awesome guest. We have talked via chat and online for years. And we'll get into that in a moment.  Today, if you want to hear all about bicycles with massive giant 36 inch wheels, and he can tell you all about why, then stick around. I have David, the owner and founder of Dirty Sixer Bikes.  This is the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. In today's episode you'll learn more about:  Why would someone need a super large ebike and who these are meant for.  How he came up with the name Dirty Sixer. How David has revolutionized the accessibility of bikes for many people who haven't been able to get them in the right size.  What David's background is and what brought him to where he is today.  How he has gotten the opportunity to work with players in the NBA and how that has helped him to see how his work could help even more people.  What is next for Dirty Sixer and how that may even be something you can be a part of.  Thank you to everybody listening to today's podcast. I hope you enjoyed that information about Dirty Sixer Bikes and large wheels, what they could do for you, but very unique bikes.  I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens with those. I'm hoping one of these days I can get my hands on one of those and, and ride it around so I can give you some firsthand experience, but like any bike, it looks like a ton of fun. I'm the owner of Bolton Ebikes, and you are listening to the Bolton Ebikes Podcast.  In today’s episode you’ll learn more about:  How to not have that clunking sound when shifting through gears How gearing works on a mid-drive and how to get the most torque. When coming up a hill, when should you shift? How to get more range from your mid-drive ebike. Why pushing the bike too hard can make it struggle, not perform better. Why there isn’t one gear that is best for hills and the factors that can affect climbing capabilities.  The benefits of the shift sensor and why that provides a smoother riding experience. What the brake switch does and how that works on these ebikes.  How to make your mid-drive bike last for years to come.  If you have a mid-drive or if you are waiting on one or you're buying one, just get familiar with your bike. I think that's one of the most important things to take out of this. Know what all of the components do. If you do that, you're going to have a better experience overall. So stick around, if you want to hear more about something called The Glide Cycle, what it is and what it's all about.   In today’s episode you’ll learn more about:  What is The Glide Cycle and who created it? What sparked the idea for The Glide Cycle and what he did to bring his ideas to fruition.  What was surprising about this vehicle and why you don’t really have to worry that much when going over bumps. The benefit of the low center of gravity and how that changes the riding experience.  Where can you use this vehicle and what class is it? What is next for Glide Cruisers, USA? Where is this created and why is that important to the founder? The founder shares more about where he offers The Glide Cycle and other items within his business.  What has been done to test this awesome vehicle and where you can check one out for yourself.  And so much more! Thank you for being on the show Chris and thanks to everybody who is listening for being on here with me and Chris, for another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. Hey Everybody! Welcome back to another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. I'm going to talk about something I did Oh, about six years ago and whether or not it was a good idea. And if I would repeat doing that again today. That is buying an electric bike from a crowdfunding campaign. So if you want to hear about the latest ebike that is on Indiegogo right now, stay tuned. Is it a good deal? Should you buy one? Should you avoid it at all costs? Stick around to get those answers and more. This is The Bolton Ebikes Podcast.    In today’s episode you’ll learn more about:  What it’s like buying an electric bike from a crowdfunding campaign and what my experience was like.  What crowdfunding is and how it can work and what to expect if it doesn’t.  Details on my previous experience and what others experience What can happen if an item is pushed through to production too quickly.  What additional items could be offered as the crowdfunding campaign goes on - as the makers want to sweeten the deal due to the wait.  Why it’s important to research the bike you’re looking for, ask questions, and know what you’re getting for your money.  Why when we release bikes - we release them in small quantities and why it’s important to not scale too quickly.  More details on the bike that I am sharing more information about and how you can get one at a great price. Also, why I do personally know this is a campaign that is worth it.  And so much more! Thanks again, for listening to the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. I hope that I can bring some value to you with every single episode that we do here. If you learn something, then make sure to give me a nice five-star review. I do appreciate those. I try and read each and every one. I appreciate everybody who have been listening to this podcast from the beginning, because I know some of you have, and if you haven't, no worries. Just stick around and I'll talk to you again every Tuesday. Thanks again. I'm Kyle Chittock, The Owner of Bolton Ebikes, and I will catch you hopefully next Tuesday. Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast and Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver spoons Podcas

Hey Everybody, Angela Bowen here, the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Today, I covered the final installment in the Sarah Plain and Tall Movie Trilogy, Winter's End (1999). Movie Synopsis: It's been 8 years since Jacob Witting and his two children Anna and Caleb, met and fell in love with the woman who would transform their lives for the better, Sarah Wheaton from Maine who arrived in Kansas after answering an ad for a woman to care for a widower and his two children, to make a difference. Now, we see the Witting family has added a new family member, 6 year-old adorableand inquisitive Cassie as well as losing some furry family members Nick the dog from the movies Sarah Plain and Tall and Skylark and Seal, Sarah's cat who she brought from Maine but gaining Nichol also a border collie who according to Cassie is the son of Nick. Spoiler Alert: In the final 2 books in the series More Perfect Than The Moon and Grandfather's Dance, Nick and Seal are very much alive. In fact Seal is a grandmother as one of her grandcats is living on the farm. Anna who is 19 and studying medicine is working under Dr. Sam in town during the 1918 Spanish Flu Epidemic and dating his son Justin who is away at war. Caleb is about 14 and continues to work on the farm as he goes to school, he even contemplates leaving school like his father and grandfather to work on the farm full time, but Jacob and his father stress the importance of a good education. On a cold winter day a mysterious stranger shows up at the Witting Farm. We soon learn he is John Witting, Jacob's father who he originally thought was dead, but in actuality abandoned Jacob and his mother when Jacob was little, leaving him to quit school at a young age and take over running the farm. Upon John's return, Jacob is is very hurt by what his father did to him many years ago and unwilling to hear John's side and the real reason he left all those years ago. Sarah has her hands full with 6 year Cassie who is filled with questions for John and Caleb's been handed the task from Anna to fill the family journal with stories of the family and the farm while she is away in town. Hard truths are revealed, life threatening weather arrives and relationships are mended in this beautiful and heartwarming conclusion to this movie trilogy. I hope you all enjoy my review of this movie as I loved covering it. These movies will forever be close to my heart. I promise at some point to cover the two remaining books in the Sarah Plain and Tall book series on the podcast. Have a great week everyone!

Hey Everybody! Welcome back to another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. I get a lot of questions as you can imagine about batteries. How much should you charge them? Should you discharge them all away? Do they need to be kept at a certain temperature? How long will they last? You know, as far as years, how many miles will they go? So in this episode, I want to break down some of the basics of lithium battery maintenance. So you can get the most life you possibly can out of your battery on your electric bike. In today’s episode you’ll learn more about:  Is it okay to run your battery down to zero? How to extend battery life. Is it okay to store your battery in the garage when you’re not using it? What is the difference between the lithium batteries and lead acid batteries.  What is the BMS and what does it have to do with battery best practices. How many cycles do ebike batteries typically last? And so much more!  When it comes to batteries, it's only going to get better from here. Hey Everybody! Welcome back to another episode of the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. I already did an episode where I talked about the proposed 30% federal tax credit. That information was based on the initial press release. But this week I have some new information. Thanks to one of you. One of the listeners of the podcast and viewers of the YouTube channel, I was able to get a copy of the actual text. And so now. I can give you some more detailed answers. Some of the questions that came up and point out one of the major flaws I see in The Bill.  I hope with your help, we can get fixed. In today’s episode you’ll learn more about:  Is the 30% tax credit a definite decision and when will it be something you can take advantage of.  Does this mean you can get 30% off of the price of your next ebike purchase or is that something you are writing off on your taxes? What my predictions are for the next year for the ebike market in general. Is there a limitation on the number of bikes you can purchase and still qualify for the tax credit? Does this apply to other motorized vehicles? Will this have any effect on the used ebike market? And so much more! This is my forecast on the ebike market. I think there's going to be a lot of very, very affordably priced bikes on the market if The Bill passes. There, you have it, there's my thoughts. That's a little bit of new information for you and I'll keep you informed if we find out anything else. Thanks again for listening to the Bolton Ebikes Podcast. It also knocked out our high speed internet and that just caused more havoc for the week. Hey Everybody, I'm Brian Clapp, VP of Content and Engaged Learning at WorkInSports.com and this is the Work in Sports podcast … Daylight savings! A love-hate relationship here -- loved the fact the sun was out at 7:15 last night. Hated the fact my kid's sleep schedule was a mess. Anyone who is a parent knows this dilemma, it takes a week for your kids to normalize to the change, and it is a painful week. Consider yourself forewarned all you youngsters. Old people problems here.  If you missed it, last week's podcast episode with Allison Bickford is a big hit. The people have spoken and they love the Seattle Kraken and Allison Bickford. Lots of great career insight and so much fun so check that out.  I also come asking a favor, subscribe to our YouTube channel. I made it my goal to be super aggressive with video in 2021 and I want more of your to subscribe to our channel so my bosses don't think my time spent in front of the camera is a waste.  I like crafting videos, please make it worth my while. Subscribe! I think I'm supposed to say “smash that subscribe button and don't forget to hit the bell so you are notified when new videos are posted!” I'm kind of joking here on the YouTuber techniques… but you get the idea, would love to have you watching and listening.  Ok let's get into today's question… Hi Brian, my name is Joanna and I am a college freshman who was introduced to your podcast this year by one of my professors. I love it. I have learned so much. Funny story, I swear my professor takes your ideas and talks about them in the classroom like they are his...I think he forgets that he told us all to listen to your show.I do have a question though, and I hope you can get to it. As I mentioned I am a freshman, and since I'm paying for my college I want to make sure I get the most out of this experience. If you were going to set a strategy for a freshman in college to make sure they get the most out of the college experience and really, really really make the most of their 4 years - what would you advise I focus on?     Joanna - this is a big question. You're in luck, I love big questions! https://youtu.be/KdNeA8jk3rI I have 6 big concepts, lets get into them. 1: During your freshman year start to narrow down your main focuses and interests. Just saying you want to work in sports isn't specific enough, and doesn't set you up for success. You need to start right now, understanding what real options are out there and the demands of those roles. The choices you make to be an athletic trainer vs. a sports marketer will be incredibly different.  Unless you know what you want, you won't be able to make smart choices based on where you want to end up. Ideally, by the end of your sophomore year you'll be able to say, OK, I want to work in sports marketing or sports operations, or sports technology, or become a sports agent.  Right now, start researching and understanding what is out there. See what interests you.  But by the time you hit junior year you want to be choosing internships that match your goals, you want to be choosing specific classes that fit the skill profile for who you want to be, you want to start being strategic about what additional skills you learn. Research freshman year. Clarity by end of sophomore year. Actions are taken by junior year. 2: Make a plan for experience. Again this is contingent on knowing what you want to pursue. So start there. But really, Joanna if you look at your resume right now, I imagine as a freshman it's pretty light. I know my freshman year of college my resume would have said “Golf Caddy” and that would not get me hired anywhere...except to be a golf caddy somewhere else.  Your goal is to gain experiences that fill up that resume and match the demands of your chosen path. You should have a mix of internship experiences, skills you have mastered, clubs you are part of, volunteer opportunities, and more.
