No new cases of the highly-contagious Delta strain were recorded in Queensland on Saturday, just a day after it emerged an infected airline flight attendant had travelled thousands of kilometres across the state for more than a week. Labor MPs have been accused of telling “bold faced” over the social media posts claiming the Morrison Government plans to move aged pensioners onto a cashless debit card. Former students and current parents of Brisbane Grammar School are demanding a government probe into its management amid claims of a “dangerous sense of entitlement” that puts the interests of the college above the welfare of children. Sporting clubs across the southeast are hoping the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032 bring financial support to unearth the next generation of sporting heroes. Ordinarily, we're not the type of show to wade into the Atheist Internet Wars, but we felt it was important to interrupt our Christian Nationalism series to offer a modicum of support to Thomas Smith who has worked his ass off to be as affirming and supportive of "the left" as possible. He was recently attacked (unjustly so, in our humble opinions), so this episode is dedicated to shoring up support for the good works he has done. This week on The Chrome Cast, we begin by discussing all the gaming news that is swirling in the Google/Chromebook world this week. From Stadia finally launching on Chromecast with Google TV (and Android TV) to more news on 'Borealis' and Steam games coming to Chrome OS, there was a lot of great news in the gaming sphere this week. From there we move on to talking about my lost hope in seeing an updated Pixelbook anytime soon. With the two boards 'Halvor' and 'Lindar' both being outed as decidedly not Google hardware, we really don't have anywhere else to look for a new Pixelbook in the near future. That being said, there's hope on the horizon in the form of Google's custom 'Whitechapel' silicon that gives us hope that we may see another Pixelbook down the road. NOTABLE LINKS Borealis, a.k.a. Steam, will live in the Chrome OS settings menu Steam on Chrome OS is so close I can taste it Why I've lost hope for a new Pixelbook arriving anytime soon Google Stadia arrives on Google TV, expanding its reach to millions more Lenovo debuts 2 Tiger Lake Chromebooks ahead of MWC Seriously, affordable Chromebooks are getting really good [VIDEO] I canceled my Stadia Pro subscription and now I play Stadia more than ever This episode is brought to you by NordVPN. There has been another day without new cases of Covid-19 in the Wellington community. The news seems too good to be true, given the packed itinerary of the Australian tourist who spent the weekend in Wellington. He flitted between restaurants and cafes, a packed sports bar, a busy art exhibit at the national museum - and then tested positive for the virus on his return to Sydney. It is assumed - though not confirmed - he was carrying the highly infectious Delta variant of Covid-19 - currently circulating in New South Wales. Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins says so far there are no signs the man infected anyone else in Wellington.

Even if Turkey manages to come up with a solution to the S400 issue or the eastern Mediterranean issue during the NATO meeting on June 14 between U.S President Joe Biden and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, there is not going to be a new page within the U.S. Turkish relationship without real democracy and reforms, Merve Tahiroglu, the Turkey Program Coordinator at the Project on Middle East Democracy, told Ahval's editor-in-chief in Ahval on Saturday. Tahiroglu said that Ankara really wants an image out of this meeting on Monday of positive U.S-Turkish relations.

There are still very few clues in the disappearance of an autistic La Vista boy two weeks ago as investigators continue to look for any new leads in the case. The search for 11-year-old Ryan Larsen has been frustrating for the hundreds of people on the look-out for him.
Brazilian driver Helio Castroneves has won the Indianapolis 500 this morning after a late move to the lead. The 46-year-old held off Spaniard Alex Palou and Frenchman Simon Pagenaud to take home a record-tying fourth title. Castroneves joins drivers Al Unser, Rick Mears and A.J. Foyt in the Indy 500's four-win club. Veteran New Zealand driver Scott Dixon started in pole position, but saw his hopes of victory fade when his car ran out of fuel on lap 36 and his team struggled to restart the engine in pit-lane. He finished in 17th, while fellow New Zealander Scott McLaughlin finished back in 20th position. Kurt Darling from WIBC Radio spoke to Susie Ferguson from the speedway.

Well that was a hell of a Friday for the Washington Football Team! JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey are back for their second draft podcast of 2021, and this one is all about Sam Cosmi, Benjamin St-Juste and Dyami Brown. The guys bring you up to speed on Ron Rivera's newest lineman, defensive back and wide receiver, and pick their favorite of the three selections. In the midst of that, you'll get JP's 1-on-1 with Cosmi, which is the sort of special access you're used to from this show. After those segments, the hosts explain why Washington didn't take a QB through Days 1 and 2, and then zip through a ton of other topics, including RG3's cheapshot on Kirk Cousins, another sign of Bruce Allen's incompetency and Pete's worrisome memory loss. If you like podcasts where Mitch quotes Macbeth and there's a follow-up debate about Rivera's wardrobe, then this is the episode for you.

How do you describe a one-in-a-million risk? What's heparin-induced thrombocytopenia? And why's it so hard to find drugs for Covid-19? We cover all that and more this week on “The Readout LOUD,” STAT's biotech podcast. First, Science Magazine reporter Kai Kupferschmidt joins us to discuss the U.S. decision to press pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and what researchers have learned about rare cases of dangerous clotting. Then, biotech analyst Josh Schimmer joins us to talk about why the drug industry has had such a hard time coming up with treatments for Covid-19 and offer some tips that might help in the next pandemic.

Daryl Kimball talks about the need to limit the creation and proliferation of nuclear weapons in the world. Today, says Kimball, the U.S. is heading in the wrong direction: a $200 billion plan is in the works to update and expand America's nuclear arsenal, even though, according to Kimball and all reasonable observers, we already have way more nukes than anyone needs. Most disinterested experts agree that a small arsenal is more than enough to deter other nuclear-armed countries, and that the kind of stockpiles the U.S. and Russia have don't make anybody any safer. In fact, it greatly increases the chances of a full-scale nuclear war. Because of the global consequences of nuclear fallout, such a war can never be won, and so it must never be fought. Discussed on the show: "Enough Already: No New ICBMs" (Arms Control Association) Daryl Kimball has been the Executive Director of the Arms Control Association since September 2001. He has written and spoken extensively about nuclear arms control, non-proliferation and weapons production. Follow him on Twitter @DarylGKimball.
