The greatest sports team of all time is the US Olympic Team, and Team USA has been epically dominant in the pool. In the land of NASA, the Pentagon, and an America-first mentality, one of the biggest revelations of the Paris Olympics was that Team USA would hire an Australian business to run the sports performance tech in the pool. Iggy Jovanovic's Gerford AI powered the Americans to another supreme performance, where they topped the medal tally. Off the back of Paris, Gerford is now being head-hunted by big finance and big medicine to incorporate their tech into those critical fields. Gerford also worked hand-in-hand with David Beckham's esports company Guild in 2024, and helped them rocket up the global rankings. Today we celebrate Aussie sportstech's global prowess, and the might of Iggy and his team!
Kate discusses Game 7 on Amazon, which tells the behind the scenes stories of five of the most iconic series-deciders in pro sports and Simon Biles Rising on Netflix. The second installment of director Katie Walsh's series follows Biles as she makes the US Olympic Team at the 2024 Trials, onward to her arrival in Paris, and continuing along her incredible blazing trail to become the most decorated gymnast in history. Jon McCann and co-director Kyle Thrash from The Turnaround, a Netflix documentary which tells the story of Philadelphia Phillies' superfan McCann, who helped inspire an unlikely 2023 standing ovation for Phillies shortstop Trea Turner, which helped turn the team around after hitting a major roadblock. In a move that may destroy this podcast, Brandon and Steve give their instant reactions to the first Presidential #Debate2024, which appears to be the sixth-consecutive contest between Giant Douche and Turd Sandwich, thanks South Park. And nooowww...Hell Comes to Frogtown: In a post-apocalyptic world, women rule and men are judged not by the content of their character, but by the quality of their spermatozoa. Enter Sam Hell, a man with stronger swimmers than the US Olympic Team. A scavenger, drifter, and criminal-type, he opts to work with the government after he's captured, rather than face prison. His mission? To first rescue, then procreate with, a group of women who were taken captive by a race of Frogpeople. The human race needs more babies to survive, and only Sam Hell has the balls to save humanity. Is this setup stupid? Probably, but let's not got too teste. Hell Comes to Frogtown final grade: Steve maybe wasn't in a receptive mood for this one, but he calls this one "meh." Rowdy Roddy Piper misses as a leading man and bad #science knocks this one down several pegs. 2.69/5.0 Brandon This movie was ribbeting. Not a good movie, the nostalgia of a 1980s WWF icon and the low-brow humor hits in his soft spots. 3.45/5 Cocktail of the Week: Feeling Froggy? It Ain't Easy Being Green? Who knows... 1 oz vodka 1 oz Midori Melon Liqueur 1/2 oz Orange Liqueur 1/2 oz Coconut Rum 1 oz Pineapple Juice Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. She continued training for the 2004, 2008, and 2012 US Olympic Trials after graduating with an education degree. 2004 was probably her best time in her career to make the US Olympic Team but in September of 2003 she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and went through 6 months of chemotherapy during a crucial training period leading up to the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. She finished 5th at the 2004 US Trials 3 months after her last chemo treatment and continued to train through the next two Olympiads. As she transitioned from the shot put, she started competing in the Scottish Highland Games and went on to win 6 World titles and captured many world records in the heavy events. We are live from the Travelers golf tournament in Cromwell, CT. Gio had a handicapped room at the hotel and he was worried that someone would need that room and he shouldn't be in it. Rory McIlroy bailed on the Travelers because he had a miserable Sunday at the US Open. The ratings for the Masters were better than the US Open, which Boomer did not think would happen. Bryson DeChambeau is not on the Olympic team, which Gio doesn't care about because he's never paid attention to Olympic golf. One year Mike FRANCESA was broadcasting from here and he left mid-show because it was too hot. Craig Carton played in Boomer's tournament yesterday and was -23 according to him. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with Willie Mays passing away at the age of 93. Keith Hernandez reacted during the Mets game and he was choked up. Boomer got to meet Mays on two occasions and said he was a very sweet guy. He was a 24 times all-star. The Mets fell behind 6-2 to the Rangers but won the game, 7-6. The Yankees beat the Orioles as Brendan Burke was on the radio call. Aaron Judge got hit on the hand by a pitch but x-rays were negative. The Edmonton Oilers won and will head home for a 6th game in the Stanley Cup Finals. In the final segment of the hour, PGA golfer Corey CONNERS joins us from the Travelers.

Show Notes Episode 432: The Whack Heard Around the World This week Host Dave Bledsoe gets into a drunken row with Fast Eddie because Fast Eddie won't have one of his guys “do something about his Joe Rogan problem”. (His problem is he liked Joe Rogan on Newsradio and wants to know what happened to that Joe Rogan.) On the show this week we go back thirty years from the week of release to the time a group of bumbling idiots lightly bruised a figure skater's leg. (morons, all of them) Along the way we learn why you should never play cards with Dave's Mom. (She regularly won back Dave's allowance, because Dave sucks at poker!) Then we zip back to 1994 and the world of Olympic Figure Skating and the cut throat (knee bashing) competition to make the US Olympic Team. We meet Nancy and Tonya, two girls from very similar backgrounds with big dreams. Only one of them was married to a moron, and that moron was going to make things very hard for BOTH of them. (Whatever you think about Tonya, she had horrible taste in men!) We follow along as the world's dumbest criminals hatch an overly complicated plan to take out Nancy Kerrigan, if they could only find her. Wackiness ensues when one of these dipshits whacks Nancy Kerrigan in the leg. (Honestly, these guys were idiots) Our Sponsor this week is Johnson's Protectives, don't take a shot to the nuts without a Johnson's Protective! We open the show with news footage of the run by whacking and close with Alyson Greenfield's Mom explaining conflict resolution. No one cares about achieving your goals more than you; and no one can do the work for you to get there. You have to own that. It doesn't matter what industry or what dream you wake up with every morning, you better be the first one in and the last to leave if you want to earn victory. Power Monkey Fitness Co-Owner and Former USA Gymnastics Team Member Dave Durante believes the key the podium starts with work ethic and saying yes to challenge. Dave joined Fran Racioppi and Jessie Graff from the US Army Fitness Truck at 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games for a conversation on his rise through the gymnastics world, battling to make the US Olympic Team and transitioning from elite athlete to coach and business owner. Dave's philosophy on progress is grounded in progressions; the ability to push forward but take it back to the basics to reinforce our foundations then get back after it. Dave takes us behind the scenes of US Gymnastics, sharing his personal journey of wins, losses and becoming the ultimate teammate on his bid to compete in the 2008 Olympics. Dave also shares the impact of Power Monkey Fitness, where he touches on the struggles of athletes figuring out the next step in their career and how CrossFit opened an opportunity for him to bring gymnastics to everyone. From elite athlete to elite entrepreneur, Dave's perspective on what it takes to win inside and outside the gym will transform your Monday mindset!
