Spreaker: https://www.spreaker.com/show/an-honorable-mention-with-shane-hagadorn June of 2004 was just short 3 months removed from the most difficult time in Ring of Honor's history. The week of 'World Title Classic,' there was even more trouble that all led to a new beginning for Ring of Honor Wrestling. On a night where Ultimate Endurance was the initial show name, it was two men instead of eight, who had that ultimate endurance, going broadway for the Ring of Honor World Title, Samoa Joe & CM Punk. We'd see the return of the blue room and the dark hole on this show as production was suspect at best, and wrestlers being confused between Wilmington & Dayton, Ohio. On World Title Classic we'd also see the birth of the mid-evil title belt and the birth of a true villainous thug, the violent Notorious 187 Homicide. This show was the beginning of Ring of Honor's greatest in ring rivalry in company history and the start of the end for Samoa Joe's run as Ring of Honor World Champion. Join Jeff & Shane on this week's AHM for a deep dive into the inner workings of 2004 Ring of Honor and the birth of Ring of Honor Wrestling. -=-=-=-=An Honorable Mention Podcast is hosted by Jeff Schwartz & Shane Hagadorn every Tuesday on the Creative Control Network. This coming Friday will be the first time in nearly six decades that a non-WWF/WWE show will be held in the Mecca of Professional Wrestling, Madison Square Garden. While there was never a guarantee, there is no question that this show was sold on the backs of guys that are no longer wrestling for New Japan and Ring of Honor. Kenny Omega, Nick and Matt Jackson, Cody Rhodes, and Hangman Page are now with a well-backed, but fledgling organization while their former home companies are hosting the biggest show in their existence. Yes, NJPW has run shows in front of very large crowds at the Tokyo Dome, this is the first time they are front and center on a national stage. You don't run a show at MSG--on Wrestlemania Weekend, no less--without it being shots fired on WWE. So, how did they do putting together the card and how excited are the guys to see it? The guys will also preview nXt Takeover New York, which already had its legs cut out from under it a bit, but still has an incredible lineup of matches the guys can't wait to see. This will be a jampacked show about jampacked shows, so don't miss it! Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/lords-of-pain-radio/donations

Mary Giehl’s art echoes themes that she had encountered through her work experience as a Registered Nurse in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She often cared for children after they had been abused and much of her work focuses around this theme. There are hints of darkness and confinement in her installations, along with a mixture and balance of playfulness and seriousness. Mary is also a dedicated rock climber, and creates dramatic spandex costumes for her nephew who is a semi-professional wrestler called Dalton Castle for Ring of Honor Wrestling. For Ring of Honor we had the start of the top prospect tournament where J Diesel faced off against Will Ferrara and a fun contest between Roderick Strong and Mark Briscoe. Former NFL offensive lineman Quinn "Moose" Ojinnaka earned a reputation for crushing the competition on the gridiron and now he'll be trying his hand at dominating in another full contact sport. Ojinnaka has signed with Ring of Honor Wrestling ("ROH") as revealed on ROH's live "Best in the World" Pay-Per-View on Sunday night. Standing 6'5" and weighing 295 pounds, Ojinnaka looks to follow in the footsteps of other football players turned grapplers such as: Ernie Ladd, Wahoo McDaniel and Bronko Nagurski as he transitions from the football field to the wrestling ring. Recruited by Ring of Honor for his agility, power and size, Ojinnaka is an elite athlete. Demonstrating exceptional potential during his Ring of Honor Dojo tryout, he's touted as a blue chip prospect – a label Ojinnaka is quite familiar with. Drafted in the 5th round by the Atlanta Falcons in 2006, Ojinnaka spent 4 years in Atlanta before moving on to play for the New EnglandPatriots in 2010. That year, he was part of the best offensive line in the NFL. Ojinnaka would go on to play for the Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Rams, utilizing his speed and power to become one of the fiercest offensive guards in the league. After over 100 games and achieving his childhood dream of playing in the NFL, Ojinnaka now hopes to realize another lifelong dream: winning the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship. This is a show you cannot afford to miss, as Felix and Austin speak to undoubtedly the next big breakout star.
As part of The Hardy Boyz tag team, Matt and Jeff Hardy soared to new heights winning several tag team titles. In 1999, The hardy's vs Edge and Christian Ladder match set the bar for what was to come, in the early 2000's we were witness to the TLC matches with the hardy's, the dudley's and Edge and Christian, some of the most brutal and yet very exciting matches ever. Moving on from that Matt hardy really reinvented himself as Matt Hardy version 1 winning many singles titles and even becoming Ecw world champion. Leaving wwe Matt would go on to join TNA Impact Wrestling making a mark joining Immortal and having some great matches sporting a new look and new attitude. From there Matt would go on to join Ring of Honor Wrestling joining forces with the group Scum and raising some hell like only they could. Matt has an upcoming match with Luke Hawx at Extreme Rising on 12/28 and these two men have had an intense rivalry and some amazing matches and their next match is indeed a grudge match. We talk about all that and so much more so don't miss a minute of this interview with the one and only STRONGER THAN DEATH....MATT HARDY!!!
