Conclusion Ainsi se conclut donc le 137ème épisode. In this podcast we start off by talking about our trip to Chicago and our experiences at MAS ICNA. We shift all around from speaking about the influence of Muslims on social media to how society has changed and now promotes a lot of negative aspects of life that go against our beliefs as Muslims and how we need to combat that. My Experiences with Sh.Muhammad Alshareef How we first met: In the summer of 2000 I went to the annual ICNA convention which was in Baltimore, Maryland, that year. While shopping in the bazar I was looking for what I could spend my final $2 on. I came across this booth for a school I had never heard before: "Dar-Us-Salam" and they had these tapes playing of this khatib that not only had a powerful khutbah but had some of the best recitation that I had ever heard in my life! It was none other than the khutbahs of Sh. Muhammad. I purchased one tape: "The dangers of the tongue". When I later went to Madinah that year I used to listen to it at night as I would fall asleep. There was just something soothing about the recitation. It wasn't actually till 2005 when I came back for my summer break to Montreal that I actually got to meet him in person. Ali Merali, one of my closest friends that I've known since elementary school, had told me Sh. Muhammad was giving khutbah at McGill. I made my way there and as the khutbah is starting I see this guy with gelled hair, a half sleeved italian dress shirt, and chino pants, and I assumed that Sh. Muhammad wasn't able to make it. I felt was very disappointed. Only a few minutes into the khutbah and that amazing recitation comes out and fire alarms went off in my head: "OMG THAT'S HIM!". That weekend I went onto attend my first AlMaghrib seminar "Code of the scholars: Usool Al-Fiqh 101" It was such a difficult class to teach but he made it an amazing experience, al hamdulillah. Two years later I ended up joining AlMaghrib myself, and as they say the rest is just history

Manaeha interviews Imam Rafiq Mahdi, the current director of outreach at ICNA relief USA, on his relationship to mental health as a resource in his community. How is mental health being talked about in the American Muslim religious leadership? How do you think the Muslim community views its relationships with its Imams? How was mental health addressed in the past compared to now? What would you want members of your own community or the Muslim community in general to know in terms of seeking you out for help about mental health or just about mental health in general?

Bunları başardığımızda Rabbimiz'in bizlerin önünde rahmet kapılarını sonuna kadar açacağına inanıyorum.” Dayanışma, birliktelik, kardeşlik, kuşatıcılık ve kucaklayıcılık

Assalamu alaykumAs I begin my own spiritual journey, I want to hear from those who have taken this path before me. This podcast focuses on them and listening to their stories — uninterrupted. My name is Hebah Masood and I invite you to reflect on the trajectories of their lives, and the guidance and blessings provided by Allah swt along that journey. This special quarantine episode features my mom, my very first teacher and biggest inspiration. Those of you who know my mom and me, know that she's the cooler one. I knew when I started the podcast she would definitely be in one of the episodes, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. She takes us through the journey of her life as one of the first Muslims to attend a well-known prep school in Toronto, going on to Medill - Northwestern University's School of Journalism and eventually working for the Chicago Tribune for 15 years. She talks about this immense feeling of protection from Allah swt while her father was in and out of spinal surgery, as a foreign correspondent in Afghanistan and Pakistan, in reporting battles with the mayor of Chicago, and just throughout her everyday life. She reflects on the powerful tafsir given by Shaykh Amin Kholwadia at Darul Qasim in Chicago and how it set her on a new phase in life, one without journalism. Now back in Toronto, she takes classes at SeekersGuidance: The Global Islamic Seminary and works as a senior advisor for a university.Listen as she shares some mother-to-daughter wisdoms from her remarkable life.-Also available on most other major podcast streaming services including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Podcast Addict, Pocket Casts, Castbox and Podbay.-Do you enjoy this podcast?
