À Kinshasa, les petites ruelles résonnent encore des mots du théâtre en lingala. Mais ces représentations se font de plus en plus rares, dans un paysage culturel largement dominé par le français. Malgré cette évolution, des auteurs et metteurs en scène poursuivent leur combat pour faire vivre et renouveler le répertoire théâtral congolais en langue nationale. De notre correspondante à Kinshasa, Dans les ruelles étroites du quartier Riguini, une troupe répète la pièce Juge président. Dans cette scène, un taxi-moto de Kinshasa et un client négocient le prix d'une course. Chris Ngazyeme, comédien : « Je joue le rôle du motard, c'est un motard qui a augmenté son prix alors que normalement il y a un prix fixé par la loi. Je pars en procès. Le juge président me condamne car je n'ai pas respecté le prix légal, donc il me condamne à une peine de prison. » Il nous explique pourquoi la pièce est jouée entièrement en lingala, l'une des langues nationales : « En fait, d'abord, c'est ma langue et je me sens plus à l'aise de jouer en lingala qu'en français. Pour Olivier Castro, auteur et metteur en scène, l'objectif est aussi de créer une connexion avec le public : « J'écris souvent des pièces qui essaient d'éveiller les consciences. Donc, l'apport du lingala, c'est vraiment pour être en communion avec le public, qu'il se sente vraiment en communion avec une personne qui lui parle de ses réalités, de ce qu'il vit au jour le jour. Parce que je trouve qu'en français, il y a une distance. » Accompagner les écrivains en lingala Le théâtre en lingala a connu son âge d'or dans les années 1950 avec des œuvres jouées au théâtre national qui ont marqué les esprits comme Muana Nsusu et Diallo sans souci. Mais les œuvres en lingala sont de plus en plus rares, explique Israel Tshipamba, directeur du Tarmac des auteurs : « Il y a eu beaucoup de programmes à l'époque développés par l'Institut français, par l'organisation internationale de l'OIF, pour qu'il y ait des auteurs qui écrivent en français, mais je crois qu'aujourd'hui si l'État met en place un programme pour accompagner les écrivains en lingala, en tshiluba, en français, ça va marcher. » Les auteurs et metteurs en scène d'œuvres se sont adaptés pour continuer à faire vivre leurs pièces en lingala. Dans une enquête publiée le 12 mars 2023, nos confrères de Franceinfo nous apprenaient qu'il était possible de se procurer, pour trente euros, de faux arrêts maladies sur l'application Snapchat. Pour ce faire, les faussaires usurpent l'identité de vrais médecins pour rendre leurs contrefaçons plus vraies que nature.
