The real reason is actually deeper than that. Yes, flight training is expensive. But every student pilot knows this and budgets for it when they decide to do it.   The actual #1 reason a student pilot fails is because they do not have a good, fundamental understanding of the private pilot knowledge they are meant to learn in ground school.    You see when a student does not have a good grasp of this knowledge they get to a point in their flight training where their mind just can't keep up. They start making mistakes and having to redo lessons. And THAT is when it starts getting too expensive.    This audio ground school is meant for the modern day student pilot... aka the part time student pilot. Let's face it, the majority of us have full time responsibilities on top of flight training. Whether it is a job, kids, family, school, etc. we all keep ourselves busy with the things that are important to us. And with today's economy we have to maintain that job just to pay for the training. The modern day student pilot is busy, on the go and always trying to find time throughout his or her day to stay up on their studies. The audio ground school allows them to consume high quality content while walking, running, working out, sitting in traffic, traveling, or even just a break from the boring FAR/AIM or ground school lecture.    Did I meant high quality content? The audio ground school is taken straight out of the 5-star rated Part Time Pilot Online Ground School that has had over 2000 students take and pass their Private Pilot & IFR exams with only 2 total students failing the written. That's a 99.9% success rate! And the 2 that failed? We refunded their cost of ground school and helped them pass on their second attempt. We do this by keeping ground school engaging, fun, light and consumable. We have written lessons, videos, audio lessons, live video lessons, community chats, quizzes, practice tests, flash cards, study guides, eBooks and much more.   Part Time Pilot was created to be a breath of fresh air for student pilots.

On top of that, VIP podcast students get BONUS episodes like Mock Checkrides, Checkride Prep, Expert Interviews and more!   The #1 reason student pilots never end up becoming a private pilot is NOT due to money. To be that flight training provider that looks out for them and their needs. So that is just what we are doing with this podcast.     IFR Section 6 Lesson 8: In this free IFR Online Ground School lesson we cover the topic of transition areas. In this episode of Making Risk Flow, host Jake Harding speaks with Matthew Grant, founder and CEO of Instech and a veteran of 33 years in catastrophe modelling. Matthew unpacks why insurance's cautious approach to AI is more strategic than sceptical. Together, they explore how carriers can align technology adoption with real business problems, build trust in new data sources, and drive operational efficiency without disrupting core workflows. Matthew explains why consistency in user interfaces can mask major capability leaps, how to focus on outcomes rather than perfection in data quality, and why the industry's measured pace reflects deep risk intelligence. The conversation offers insurers a clear roadmap on how a purposeful adoption of AI and cultural innovation can drive a durable competitive advantage.Fan Mail: Got a challenge digitizing your intake? Protesters want Pennsylvania legislators to vote to bar themselves from receiving unlimited gifts or campaign contributions. Harrisburg Republicans joined energy-sector workers at the state Capitol to celebrate Pennsylvania's withdrawal from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative or "reggie." When Congress reached a deal to end the federal government shutdown, it did not include extending additional tax credits for people who buy insurance plans on the Affordable Care Act marketplaces. Pennsylvanians stand to pay, on average, double their current premiums in 2026. Some are considering buying cheaper catastrophic health plans instead. Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry is partnering with the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership in Schuylkill County. The organizations have announced plans to open a rural dentistry campus. PPL's residential customers can expect a nearly 4% increase in their electricity costs starting December 1st. The public is invited to weigh in on Lancaster's proposed data center benefits agreement during a special city council meeting set for tonight (Thursday evening). The North Hanover Mall is condemned, after a wall collapsed last weekend. Stop counting playlist streams and start building momentum where it matters. Marc Matthews and Tim Benson unpack a year of wins and lessons that took monthly listeners from modest to meaningful, and the theme is simple. When you optimise for saves, repeats and fast post-release engagement, Spotify's algorithm does the heavy lifting. That means Radio, Discover Weekly, and personalised mixes begin to surface your music beyond your immediate circle—and the compounding effect beats a single playlist spike every time.We share the unglamorous work that unlocks creativity at speed: DAW templates, organised drum kits, and a handful of trusted synth presets that act as launchpads instead of cages. There's a balance to strike between efficiency and originality, so we talk about stepping away when tweaks turn into time sinks, coming back with fresh ears, and capturing the patches worth saving. We also get candid about release cadence and genre clarity. Keeping one artist profile sonically consistent helps Spotify place you next to the right peers; if you love variety, set up separate profiles so each lane feels coherent.Collaboration sits at the heart of our 2026 plan. We're reaching out to local vocalists to bring songs to life and share with audiences in a way that attracts editorial and radio attention. On the business side, we dig into the small but real revenue streams that stack: PRS, PPL, publishing admin via Songtrust or Sentric, DistroKid splits, and even modest YouTube monetisation. Add in smart seeding through SubmitHub and user curators to spark early signals, and you have a repeatable system that turns good music into sustainable growth.Links mentioned in this episode:Got a win from 2025 or a goal for 2026? To be that flight training provider that looks out for them and their needs. So that is just what we are doing with this podcast.    Private Pilot - Section 5 - Lesson #12: In this free online ground school lesson for private pilot we cover everything a student pilot needs to know about both METAR and TAF reports including a deep dive of how to decipher these reports and what each item in the reports mean... with examples!   Links mentioned in the episode:   Weather.gov METAR guide: https://www.weather.gov/media/wrh/mesowest/metar_decode_key.pdf  METAR & TAF Video: How to Read METAR and TAF - For Student Pilots - YouTube    Online Ground School: https://parttimepilot.com/private-pilot-online-ground-school/?utm_source=podcast Free How to Become a Private Pilot course: https://parttimepilot.com/free-how-to-become-a-pilot/ PPL study group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/parttimepilot  IFR study group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/parttimepilotifr/  Recommended Products & Discounts:  https://parttimepilot.com/recommended-products-for-student-pilots/
