Once a woman visited her best friend Jagjit. Jagjit went to buy some food so they could eat together and she found herself in Jagjit's room. She saw an altar that had inspiring pictures on it. It also had dazzling and expensive jewels on it, "Wow!" She thought. In the center of the altar was a book that had the most exquisite and intricate art work. The title was written on gold and studded with diamonds. It said, "The Secret To All Happiness And Success". It was the most beautiful and expensive book she ever saw. Welcome to the Tearsheet Podcast. I’m Zack Miller. Credit Karma built a wonderful business providing almost 100 million people with free products to help them manage their debt. It was inevitable that they move into the asset side of their customers’ personal balance sheets. Last week, the firm announced a new savings account. Jagjit Chawla, Credit Karma’s general manager for tax and savings, joins us on the show to discuss the decision to move into banking services. Like most players, Credit Karma didn’t become a bank but chose to launch a product in partnership with a licensed entity. We talk about the product spec of the new savings account and how this new product fits into the greater Credit Karma ecosystem for users. Jagjit provides some early feedback from customers and provides an inkling into CreditKarma’s future product plans on the asset side. Jagjit Chawla is my guest today on the Tearsheet Podcast. Before we jump into the interview, I wanted to invite you to Tearsheet’s latest event, The Embedded Conference. A big theme on this program and in our reporting has been about how financial services are showing up everywhere — in B2B software platforms, in retail, in transportation and travel. The Embedded Conference brings together financial services, fintech, and vertical industries looking to create new financial products. We’ve got a great speaker lineup — register today at early-bird prices by going to our website and clicking on the Embedded Conference button at the top right of your screen.

Here’s Rajesh Thakur talking about Ghazal King Jagjit Singh on his Tune India Radio's classic show. Jagjit Singh’s voice is a voice of a broken man, a man who was broken repeatedly by hardships of life and yet almost every time he rose up stronger and more determined. He never let tragedies of his life obstruct his passion for singing. One of the silken voices of all times, Jagjit Singh’s popularity traversed continents and multiple generations, making Ghazal a house hold genre, in the days when the form was almost on the verse of extinction. He gave his own thought, rhythm and simple prose to the art of ‘Ghazal’ singing making it reachable to the lamest audiences, who once thought it to be quite an intellectual affair. His form of music made its own impression, which did not depend on Bollywood to widen his mass appeal. Tune India Radio Sydney Australia

An honest, no-barred update with Mr Sean Holden at the Darren Lehman Cricket Academy on business, government regulations, spirituality and proposed cricket schools in India.
From a very young age, Jagjit had a love for the Himalaya Mountains. Fighting not only his father’s expectations to achieve a career in the National Defence Academy of India, but also the contradictory demands of daily life, Jagjit immersed himself in the philosophical, spiritual and divination writings to become one of the world’s well known Astrologers and a preacher in the art of nothingness.

Jagjit Singh passed away two years back on October 10th. In today’s Chai Time we will listen to memorable songs and ghazals by Jagjit Singh. The above ghazals and all of his work will stay with us forever.
