After almost five years of podcasting and nearly 300 episodes recorded, I am excited to announce…Season 2 of Stay Grounded! It's been over 5 years since I launched Stay Grounded. The show started out as a tagline for my first company, JavaPresse, with the intention to inspire you to infuse more passion and fulfillment into your daily life.As beautiful of an intention that is, I have had a hard time sticking to it. As I evolved over the years, so did the show. The questions I asked shifted as I navigated incredible highs and debilitating lows. Through business failures and breakups. Through peak experiences and adventures. Through profound transformations and evolutions.Who I am is not the same young man that began down this path. As I was reflecting on this, I realized I haven't updated the branding, intro, outro, or feel of the podcast to align with who I am today and what I'm most passionate about stewarding into the world.Hence, the revampSeason 2 will have the same caliber of amazing guests, same depth, and the same Raj you've grown to know and love. But instead of just helping you STAY grounded throughout your day, we'll be sharing perspectives to help you BECOME the most grounded, whole, liberated versions of yourself that you can possibly be.Thank you all for being part of my journey. Thank you for giving me the gift of your attention. So excited to share what's coming next. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

“The things I'm most grateful for in this moment are actually the lessons and the experiences I had when things were hardest.” One of the things I love most about Stay Grounded is the opportunity it provides to meet people from all walks of life. Over the years, I've interviewed some fascinating people, and this episode is no different… Apart from the way that Joseph Billotti and I met. I've recently been spending time on the phone connecting with JavaPresse Coffee Club OGs. These are people who've been drinking JavaPresse coffee for years and I wanted to know what they love about the brand. 89-year-old Joseph was one of the people I interviewed. “One of the most beautiful parts about life is that there's so many different ways to do it, and there's so many adventures to choose and so many different journeys to go on.” What was supposed to be a 15-minute chat about coffee morphed into a deep conversation about life, love, spirituality, service, and more. Joseph has lived a full and colorful life. He's travelled over the world as a missionary, fought cancer, and cultivated a deep connection with God. His perspective on life inspired me so much that I invited him onto the show. He's one of Stay Grounded's oldest guests and I'm so excited for you to hear Joseph's lessons from a long life. In this episode, we explore:Joseph's journey to connecting with himself. Meaningful coffee rituals. How Joseph starts his day with intention. “Everything is a prayer”. How Joseph inspires faith in life. The roles of forgiveness and gratitude. Joseph's spiritual beliefs, finding God, and understanding the soul. Lessons for beautiful friendships. Joseph's core message about life after 89 years on this planet.Navigating cancer. And more…It's a gift to be able to glimpse at life through the eyes of an 89 year old who's lived through and experienced so much. It's my hope that you can extract some age-old wisdom for yourself when you listen to this episode. “In the beginning of life, all there is is love, and at the end of life, all there is is love. And I think somewhere in the middle, we forget that.” Contact Info:Check out Joseph's art - https://www.josephebillotti.comSummary/ Call to Action: We thrive on your feedback, so if you've enjoyed this show, please rate us and leave us a review. “Treat yourself like someone you love.” Raj Jana (27:43 - 27:45) Raj Jana is an impact-driven entrepreneur and the host of the Stay Grounded podcast. He’s also a keynote speaker and media host who’s passionate about using business to make the world a better place.  After his mentor died of a heart attack just three months before retiring, Raj felt compelled to do something meaningful and challenge the conventional ways of how to own your success. “Watching my mentor pass away three months before his retirement reinvigorated my sense of purpose. I didn’t care how I was going to succeed as an entrepreneur. I just knew I was going to do it.” - Raj Jana (10:37 - 11:02) Raj founded JavaPresse, a lifestyle brand committed to transforming ordinary coffee rituals into extraordinary daily experiences. Since launching in 2015, Raj has helped over a quarter of a million people to use coffee for their daily fulfillment. He’s grown the business into a seven-figure company in less than a year—all while working a full-time corporate job.  Raj’s work has been endorsed by Daymond John of Shark Tank, and he’s been featured in Forbes, BuzzFeed, Huffington Post, Entrepreneur, and other renowned publications. At 27 years of age, Raj is the youngest recipient of the 2019 Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award for his influence on local communities. Raj’s company is an official partner of the Make-a-Wish Foundation and has donated over fifty thousand dollars to grant wishes to children with life-threatening diseases. After college, Raj worked as a petroleum engineer at a large oil company in Louisiana. He was making good money, and by society’s standards, he was quite successful.  But he didn’t feel fulfilled. He felt like there was something more. He began listening to podcasts and buying courses looking for a spark of inspiration to try something different along the way. This led to him launching JavaPresse. Around the same time, his mentor and close friend passed away. This was someone who had given his life to the company and had been putting off happiness until his retirement.  This tragic event taught Raj that he didn’t want to sacrifice his health and happiness for the next forty years so he could be happy “someday.” Own Your Success. Raj started waking up at 5 AM to work on JavaPresse. He invested in personal development, transformed his mindset, and sharpened his marketing skills. Every day when he got back from his corporate job, he would work on his business. Within eight months, JavaPresse had grown exponentially and hit its first six-figure month.  Life is precious, and you don’t need permission to live yours.   Raj learned critical lessons that can help anyone looking to take control of their own lives. Life is precious, and we don’t have to live it on other people’s terms. You can live the life you choose, and Raj’s podcast Stay Grounded aims to inspire people to do just that.  You don’t need to know all the answers. All you need is the courage to take the first baby step. That will give you the confidence to take the second step. Your actions will soon be so massive that you’ll be inspiring others to start their own journeys. “When you own your success and let yourself shine, you give others permission to do the same. That’s what raises the consciousness and the vibration of this experience we have as human beings.” - Diane Forster (2:56 - 3:09) In order to be useful to others, you need to take care of yourself first. It can be something as small as treating yourself to a cup of coffee or taking a quick meditation break. Remember, you’re responsible for your own success, and you don’t need anyone else’s permission to live the life that will bring you fulfillment.  Each week, we provide you with a mantra meditation, a fun, transformational way to apply the concepts in each episode. Tell yourself the story of what you want, without all of the limitations, and watch your life begin to change! Listen to this week’s mantra meditation to grow in self-love. Letting go of the expectations of others, and growing in the confidence and love of who you are and all that you are capable of, is the only way to truly move forward in success and fulfillment. Good People,This week, I have the pleasure of speaking Raj Jana. Raj is the CEO and Founder of JavaPresse, the host of the weekly podcast Stay Grounded and a business coach who specializes in branding, turning ordinary products into extraordinary commodities that people will love.He talks to us about the truth about American Dream, the pivotal moment that changed the course of his life and how he uses gratitude to as, both, the framework for his business and the foundation of his leadership style. What most resonated about Raj’s story is how much wisdom he’s garnered at such a young age. His message also ties into a common theme that we’ve heard since the first dose of the Truth Prescription: stay true to you. Anytime you try to follow, what I like to call, a pres-prescribed prescription for your life, it’s not going to work. We’re all unique and special individuals, with unique and special gifts to give in a unique and special way. Tune in to learn how Raj tapped in, took action and carved out his own unique and special path. Host: Dr. Seku GathersGuest: Raj JanaResources:Raj Jana - Website Free Download: Ultimate Guide To Bending Time In Your FavorStay Grounded - PodcastJava Presse - CompanyRaj_Jana - Instagram 7:17 Professional Truth:In summary, Raj’s professional truth is when you follow the American Dream it can become the American Nightmare, if the dream you’re pursuing isn’t your own. Raj came out of school and started working as a petroleum engineer, making 6 figures. On paper, everything looked great - except that he wasn’t very fulfilled and wasn’t experiencing life in the way that he wanted. All throughout high school and college, he worked hard and always had something to show for his efforts. Things were a bit different now, he realized that he’d have to wait 40 years until he’d have something to show for his career. It was through the sudden loss of his mentor that he was inspired into action. He began his company, Java Presse, in 2015, as a side hustle and when his mentor passed away, that side hustle became a primary career focus. Raj says that entrepreneurship wasn’t something he wanted; it became something that he needed.17:00 Personal Truth:Raj’s personal truth is about the benefits of using our relationships to discover who we are, not validate who we think we are. He talks about how being in a long-distance relationship forced him and his girlfriend to have a relationship with themselves and how much they were able to discover and explore during that time. Raj says using our relationships with others as a vehicle to create a relationship with ourselves is powerful because the way we show up in our relationships is indicative of how we show up in the other areas of our lives.20:45 WisdomI really admire Raj. A lot of the wisdom that he has is something that many don’t gain until later in life, I was curious to know where that stems from. He believes it’s the result of his investing so much in himself. He has a lot of mentors and has learned to develop a strong interest in whatever he’s learning; one of those areas of interest is exploring himself and becoming more self-aware. He has a lot of curiosity about Raj, who he is, how he operates and uses meditation, journaling and visualization to tune in.32:55 Gratitude:I ask Raj what values does he communicate as the leader of Java Presse and what type of environment do those values foster? He says it all comes down to gratitude. It’s something that permeates the culture, their interactions and, at one point, providing an answer to the grounding question “what are you grateful for?” was the internal password for accessing company information. Raj says: “When you are grateful, you cannot be any other emotion. When you are grateful, you feel connected to people. Gratitude is almost like this amazing cheat code you can use to get yourself out of any funky state, at any given moment.”43:28 Yes or BSGreatness is genetic?Wealth is a mindset?Coaching is more challenging than scaling a business?Google can literally read your mind?Amazon is bad for the small business economy?Raj Jana is currently working on his next brand?Raj Jana never drank a cup of coffee prior to starting JavaPresse? Raj Jana is the founder of JavaPresse, a lifestyle brand that transforms ordinary coffee rituals into extraordinary daily experiences. He’s been mentored by some of the world’s most inspiring leaders and hosts the weekly show, Stay Grounded, to help listeners achieve more happiness in daily life. His story is a fascinating and familiar one: Raj Jana, was like millions of other graduates. Fresh out of college with a large student debt and even bigger ambitions, Raj was itching to climb the corporate ladder and make a name for himself. So he worked his tail off and clocked up long hours in a constant race to the next promotion – because that’s how you feel happy, successful, and accomplished, right? Then overnight, his outlook changed. Out of the blue, Raj’s mentor died – just three months short of retirement. Jerry had been living for that moment – dreaming of his post-work life where he could devote himself to his woodturning passion. But that opportunity never came for Jerry, and this was a big wake-up call for Raj. With one life to live, Raj knew he couldn’t afford to push off things he loved to a future that wasn’t guaranteed. So he embraced a ‘now or never’ attitude and jumped. He chose to spend more time doing work that spoke to his soul – so he started JavaPresse to make an impact and spread a message he believed in. A couple of years and 100,000+ customers later and the business is a multi-million dollar success and the home of a new coffee revolution that puts ritual, presence, and gratitude, at the heart of coffee and life enjoyment. Now moving into speaking, teaching, and podcasting, you can catch him every week on the Stay Grounded podcast.

Learn how Raj Jana created JavaPresse, a side hustle selling coffee grinders on Amazon from a business that had 90% refunds in the first two months, to selling 150k products and $2.3M in sales.  Topics Discussed in this Episode: [01:28] What made Raj decide to get into entrepreneurship [07:56] Some of the first steps Raj took to figure out what kind of product he wanted to create [16:00] Raj’s financial situation at the time when he started the company [19:08] How they got to $23,000 in sales that first year [22:15] The strategies they used to get reviews for the product [24:15] What happened when they started having problems with their product [30:57] How they scaled the business even higher and built a brand that people wanted to be around Key Takeaways: You shouldn’t just follow your passions when it comes to picking niches. There needs to be a marriage between what you want to do and who needs the help. Having a full-time job is really underrated when you’re starting a company. Not only does it give you the cash flow but it allows you to be bold and gives you the ability to take risks without being scared of survival. The mistake that people make when they’re scaling physical products is diversifying too early. When you’re scaling physical products especially from five figures to six figures and from six figures to seven, it’s a lot easier to streamline one product’s life cycle than it is for you to launch 50 new products. One of the reasons why Kickstarter works so well is that you’re building a product with somebody, and they feel connected to it and they want to be the first to give their feedback. In this way, you’re like creating the perfect customer who is amped and excited to be a part of your story from the get-go. “Focus on the customer and doing right by the customer and not what’s right by you” gave JavaPresse a competitive edge and allowed them to scale Amazon from six figures a month to seven figures. One of the biggest mistakes that people make when they’re starting out a company is running out of stock. The second you run out of stock is the second that you lose the opportunity to capitalize on immediate, impromptu, hot purchases that now happen in the digital age. Action Steps: Invest in taking courses to learn what you can and to grow your business. Use tools like Google Trends, Google AdWords or Google Keyword Planner to verify the niches that continuously grow. Do a market research to find out which product is a winner and invest in more inventory and more marketing for that one product, and take that product to the highest level possible in that one market space. Have a good follow-up sequence that nurtures sales and adds value to the product. Leverage your friends and family and networks especially when you’re just starting out. Bring them on board and ask for help. Build an audience, through a list or a community, around your niche or product launch. Invest in content and build a solid lead magnet. Raj said: “When you’re a new entrepreneur, not having funding is a blessing because it forces you to get very resourceful.” “When you have only one product and you do everything right, you create this super highway to scaling and growth because you’re essentially pouring more money on a machine that’s churning out faster than you can run.” More from Raj Jana: JavaPresse Raj’s Email: chiefbrewer@javapresse.com Raj’s Twitter: @rajer_thatt Resources mentioned: Maverick Entrepreneurs Evolved Enterprise by Yanik Silver Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller Purple Cow by Seth Godin Sponsor link 14-day Free Trial to LeadQuizzes Thank you for listening! “I live my life by the five-minute rule. When things go wrong it’s OK to be negative - but not for more than five minutes.” Hal Elrod needs no introduction. As the author of the best-selling book, The Miracle Morning, Hal is best known for his six-part SAVERS morning routine that has changed lives and is practiced by over 500,000 people across the world. It’s a book that has influenced me hugely - both personally and also as I was building JavaPresse and crafting our message. I am hugely grateful for this man and his work. For me, Hal is a true inspiration and a rock star (as you’ll see in this week’s episode). This is a man who embraces life fully and has created a mindset to feel joy in every moment. And in this podcast he shares countless knowledge bombs that will help you feel happier and more fulfilled every day of your life. “Every negative emotion that you have ever felt in your life or could ever feel is self-created. And it is self-created by a resistance to our reality.” So listen in to discover how beating death not once, but TWICE helped Hal create a philosophy of positivity, gratitude, and acceptance. I’m confident his view on the world will inspire you to let go of the things you can’t control, decide to make the most of every moment, and create a morning ritual that will take your enjoyment of your coffee to the next level. What will your biggest takeaway be? “Change what you can change, accept what you can’t.” Some questions I ask: What was your mindset after the accident that left you in a coma unable to walk - possibly never again. “If I’m going to make a dent in this world, I have only a certain amount of time… So rather than watch that time be wasted away, I’d rather be intentional with it.” Along with his wife Shannon, Bryan Miles is committed to rewriting the workplace mindset. Driven by his manifesto that “the way we work doesn’t work anymore”, Bryan inspires businesses to liberate their employees and transform their culture with remote working. Far from losing control over staff, Bryan argues home-based workers are happier and more productive. With more autonomy over their day, working from home allows people to contribute more to their family life - as well as someone else’s place of work. As a result, they’re more motivated to do their best work for their employer. This is something Bryan has experienced first-hand. With over 600 remote-working employees, Bryan believes working for his company - BELAY Solutions - ruins staff for anyone else! When people experience a culture of trust, autonomy, and freedom, they don’t want to settle for anything less. “When I pray I don’t just beg for wisdom. I beg for the courage to act when I get that wisdom.” One of the reasons Bryan has been able to build such a successful virtual culture for so many people is because he’s a master of organization. Intentional with his time and committed to be the best steward possible in all his roles, Bryan is able to achieve success in both his personal and professional life. I was filled with gratitude after interviewing Bryan. He crushed my belief that big companies need an office and left me with a stack of insights that will help JavaPresse grow. He’s also inspired me to be a better man with some simple, yet smart organizational strategies. I’m certain Bryan will inspire you to leverage the benefits that more order can bring for your life too. “Organization makes me happy. Happiness for me is having things in order.” Some questions I ask: Why is having a virtual culture important to you and how does it affect the happiness of you and your employees? (3:13)How does your day begin? Talk me though your daily routine. (6:10)What part of your day is non-negotiable and sacred? (9:20)How do you make yourself a priority when you have so many priorities on your plate? (12:03)How does gratitude play a part in your day-to-day? (15:10)How often do you reflect? (18:50)How did you cultivate a practice of being intentional with your time? (22:00)Tell me more about your new book - Virtual Culture. (28:08)With your book and your business you’re disrupting a mindset about the way we work. What practices help you keep dreaming? (31:20)How do you stay grounded on a daily basis? (35:16) In this episode, you will hear about: Why remote working leads to happiness - and why it’s a decision that can have a positive impact on your business. (4:09)Bryan’s prediction about the next wave of progress in business and the workplace. (5:28)The app that helps Bryan maximize his mornings and keep him accountable. (6:44)The important reason Bryan doesn’t rush right into work at the beginning of the day. (7:04)The surprising, non-negotiable afternoon habit that Bryan used to be embarrassed about. (8:20)Why a color-coded calendar helps Bryan be the person he needs to be - in all his roles. (9:51)How Bryan uses gratitude as a power to lift his life. Welcome To The Stay Grounded Podcast “You measure yourself by the people that measure themselves by you” - Phil Knight Today I’m super excited to let you in on something new that I’ve wanted to do for AGES. One of the driving forces behind JavaPresse is the search for contagious happiness. Now happiness means different things to all of us. There’s no real formula, just different ideas. But those ideas can inspire us, which is why I wanted to start the Stay Grounded Podcast. I think happiness is at the core of our human experience. It’s a feeling we all crave and look for - and it’s also something we’re really good at complicating. (I know I am!) For example, we’ll push off the things we love to another time. We end up prioritizing the wrong stuff because of work pressures and other responsibilities. But when we’re hungry for joy, we dull our perception of the little things. Joy is light - and even in the depths of despair there’s always a glimmer that can pull you back into yourself. It’s why I wanted to create this podcast. I wanted to spark conversations about happiness - and the many routes to the feeling we all want to be filled with. That’s the thing with happiness… There is no set formula, just different paths and different perspectives. But when we hear other people’s stories, we can feel inspired to find something new in our own lives. I want you to know that I’ve found some incredible guests for the podcast. There are people who’ve created good from unspeakable tragedy. People who’ve walked away from everything to follow their passion. People who have overcome addiction to inspire others. Remarkable, simple stories that all have the same ending… happiness everyday :) So I’d love you to listen in and when you do it’s my wish that you’ll hear something, which unlocks more joy in your life. #StayGrounded.
