A conversation with Yanik Nyberg, co-founder of Nara Climate and Sea Water Solutions, about feed for aquaculture and on-land livestock, salinity—when soils get saltier. Millions of hectares of former soil marshes close to the coast have been drained over the last thousands of years and often farmed, slowly but surely because of rising seawater levels. Soil water is creeping back in, and traditional farming is getting impossible. What do we do with these millions of hectares? One way is to rewet them and grow salt-loving plants called halophytes. These plants are also great feedstock for the aquaculture industry and poultry to replace the massive negative impact of soy.So, what is holding back the large feed companies from incorporating this novel but originally the feedstock of many fish into their mixes? Interestingly enough, most of the world's deserts are getting saltier too. Because of extreme rain, it rains in the desert every now and then, which leads to flash floods. Millions of livestock pastoralists and their animals are suffering because of drought and floods, and the salts make their grass-based pastures disappear. Could the magical salt-loving halyphoates also be grown in the desert and feed these animals?---------------------------------------------------Join our Gumroad community, discover the tiers and benefits on www.gumroad.com/investinginregenag. Yanik Silver is a serial entrepreneur, author, digital marketing expert, and visionary leader redefining how business is played in the 21st century. By the time he was 31, he had reached his goal of becoming a millionaire and produced more than half a dozen 7-figure online businesses. We jump into this episode by talking about some of his earliest entrepreneurial wins, including Instant Sales Letters®—an info marketing business that built fill-in-the-blank sales letter templates for any niche. You'll hear how he started and scaled this business during the rise of the internet on the back of a 40,000-person affiliate network that he built from scratch. This company was the catalyst for how Yanik thinks about business. He explains how entrepreneurs often get so hung up on the details and metrics that they lose the curiosity and joy that comes from pursuing ideas and figuring things out as they go. Following his heart and focusing on the ideas that interest him, without knowing the outcomes, has been a consistent throughline in all of his ventures. You'll get to hear how this mindset has built several companies, including Maverick1000, The Cosmic Journal, and Evolved Enterprise. Through his stories of building companies, you'll learn how Yanik is rewriting the rules of business and cultivating a culture that creates more profits, more fun, and more impact. He believes that business can become one of the biggest levers for good, while also being good for business. Key Takeaways with Yanik Silver Making the difficult decision to listen to his gut and quit the family business. Yanik shares the story of building his first information product business, Instant Sales Letters—a company that made him money while he slept. How almost going out of business helped Yanik create a better blueprint for what success looks like and gave him the direction to turn his Maverick1000 mastermind group into a thriving company. Listen in as Yanik shares his own experience of shifting his business sideways, to fulfill his own destiny and the challenges that emerged for him at that inflection point. How we are all destined for greatness, and how we are ‘called' to listen deeply within as we begin to place our trust in life and move towards creating a business that is more in harmony with what we truly want. So incredibly inspiring! Meet Yanik Silver Yanik Silver has been called a Cosmic Catalyst, a Maverick Mischief-maker, and a Galactic Goofball. He redefines how business is played in the 21st century at the intersection of evolutionary growth, impact, and fun. Yanik is the creator of the Cosmic Journal, author of Evolved Enterprise, and the founder of Maverick1000, a global collective of visionary entrepreneurs making a serious difference in the world without taking themselves too seriously. In fact, it's not unusual to find him dressed as a lemur, a showgirl, or even in matching mermaid tails with Sir Richard Branson. Yanik believes we all have our own "Cosmic Alarm Clock" that goes off at exactly the right time to fulfill our destiny of greatness. It starts as a whisper, a small voice that gets louder and louder until you either answer it or hit snooze. He has spent his life exploring that connection of head, heart, and highest purpose…with his colored pens in hand. It might have all started when he snuck out at age 5 to buy markers—only to catch the wrong bus home and end up at the police station. (Undaunted, his love of doodling and exploring still continues to this day!) Get ready for a cosmic conversation that transversed time, space, and anything ordinary. We set the intention for this chat to be purposeful, playful, and profitable, meaning that by listening and getting inspired by the different questions and ideas shared, you will be more connected to your purpose, deep joy of play, and by following your inner guidance, more profitable. Yanik Silver left Russia when he was three years old and watched as his father went from having a few hundred dollars to becoming a successful entrepreneur making a real impact in the world. He learned from growing up in an entrepreneurial environment how to turn ideas into businesses and meaningful work. Here are some of the highlights from our talk that I think will benefit you, whether you are an entrepreneur or hoping to tap more deeply into your soul's gifts. Questions Create Your Answers One of the biggest takeaways from our talk is the importance of asking questions that are going to expand your way of thinking and overall consciousness. Definitely check out Yanik's Cosmic Journal for a ton of powerful and enlightening questions. The following questions catalyzed Yanik to shift gears and reevaluate his life and authentic happiness. After starting a successful business yet feeling a little lost, he asked himself, "Am I happy?" and "Would I be happy in 10 years doing what I'm doing now?" He dared to truly listen to his inner guidance, which clearly said, 'no.' He decided to change his career path, and while it took time to take off, he chose to listen to his soul. Your Cosmic Alarm Clock You might ask, what is this cosmic alarm clock? Think of it as your wake-up call from your soul. It starts as a whisper, and if you don't pay attention, it will get louder. Because we have free will, hitting the snooze button and staying asleep to what's calling you is always an option. One thing Yanik (and I) have noticed is that it's almost never a good time to do what your soul wants you to do. The question for you will be whether to follow what's waking you up. I shared about my cosmic alarm clock waking me up at 3:33 am about 14 years ago. It had me make a drastic change and u-turn in my life. It was not easy, yet it was one of the most critical and soul-awakening experiences in my life. Yanik experienced this too by realizing that he was not doing work that truly moved his soul. Your Self-worth Is Not Your Networth It's important to remember, especially those of you who are entrepreneurs, that your self-worth has nothing to do with your networth. It can be tempting to go for the financial rewards and the money, but one thing to keep in mind is that your first intention and focus should be on that thing that aligns your head, heart, and higher self. The money will always follow when you are following your greater soul's guidance. Following Cosmic Sign Posts Pay attention and choose to be a light that helps others to shine their light. Like Yanik said, bloom where you are planted and keep your inner eye open to the cosmic signposts and evidence that you are indeed always on the right path for your soul to evolve. Yanik and I randomly chose the cards from Yanik Silver's Cosmic Journey oracle cards. Here are the questions we discussed: Card #7 Close your eyes to open your heart- Cosmic Catalyst Question: "If I could look through the eyes of the Universe, what would I see about my path that's perfect right now?" Card #8 Coming Soon: Welcome to the next ascending age- Cosmic Catalyst Question: "What is my role to play in the greater story unfolding?" It's Time To Be The Light And like the card I chose said (and the shirt I happened to be wearing), "we are all made of star-stuff." In other words, don't downplay, overlook or fall asleep at the wheel to your divinity and cosmic greatness. Final Thought Yanik Silver reminds us that while we never HAVE to wake up to our cosmic alarm clock (we can go on hitting that snooze button), it would serve our higher purpose to figuratively jump out of bed with hope and enthusiasm for a new beginning. He shares so much light via his The Cosmic Journal and Cosmic Journey Oracle cards, so be sure to check them out.
