Prayer is an essential part of the life of a believer and when prayer efforts can be combined toward a singular focus at the same time, the result is truly powerful. Japan caught the attention of Alabama Baptist leaders earlier this year because of the Olympics. Scotty Goldman and Matt Burford from the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions even traveled to Japan to visit with our missionary teams and organize ways we could help them during the Olympics. But suddenly all of that changed with COVID-19. And while the Olympics were rescheduled for 2021, the compassion and concern for the people of Japan remains. The plan for the 30 days of prayer for Japan will continue on schedule June 25–July 24. Goldman and Burford share the details and interesting information about Japan with co-hosts Jennifer Rash and Debbie Campbell on this week’s TAB Talks. Visit TAB Media HERE Subscribe on iTunes HERE

Feeling anxious is a common emotion we all experience. Finding a job, losing a job, health issues, family issues, and the list goes on. The struggle continues with what congregations should do on Sunday nights. Some offer a scaled-back church service, some offer a church-wide Bible study, and some offer specific activities; but not something for everyone. Others decided to do away with Sunday night services and activities altogether. Christmas and the surrounding holidays bring a heightened level of emotions to the surface for all of us but the season is especially magnified for those who are grieving. A recent loss or the first Christmas without a loved one can cause dread, anxiety and extreme loneliness while the rest of the world seems to be cheery and in a nonstop celebratory mood. On this week’s TAB News, co-hosts Jennifer Rash and Debbie Campbell talk with minister and counselor Morris Murray Jr. about the grieving process, how to care for those who are grieving during this season and how those who are grieving can give themselves permission to grieve. Following the 30-minute interview, TAB staff members and correspondents will present an audio digest of this week’s issue including news, features, Dr. Batson’s Theology 101 column and Sunday School commentaries.
