She's bigger. She's badder. She's proving to be too much for our band of renegades to handle. After a devastating string of rolls that have rendered the party mostly ineffective against Lyanthari, things are looking dire as the group is quickly running out of resources and our foe looks as spy as the day she died. We've got two very exciting things happening for our Masked Brotherhood! First, it's that time once again for our annual art contest! We love seeing the artistic creations that our fans can come up with based on our insanity, and now is your chance to show off your skills! We will accept any form of art, be it drawings, poems, plushies, minis, anything that you do on an artistic level that is inspired by us in any of our games (Skull & Shackles, Tyrant's Grasp, Ware For the Crown, We Be Goblins) is viable. Get your entries in either through Discord or our email by September 6, 2024 for consideration. AI art is not accepted for this contest. Second, it's time to see what is coming next for our adventurous players. Tyrant's Grasp is drawing to a close, so we figured it's time to start teasing out our next adventure for our loyal listeners. In last week's introduction, you can hear the intro music for the upcoming adventure, one of Paizo's published Pathfinder 1st edition adventure paths. You can submit your guess as to what we will be running next either via Discord or our email by August 8, 2024, and we will announce a winner the following day, drawn randomly from among those who guess correctly. As always, you can find us on Twitter (@inspired_incomp) and on Facebook to follow along with our exploits, you can shoot us an email at InspiredIncompetence@gmail.com if you're so inclined. You can find out more about us at InspiredIncompetence.com and join our Discord server from the link at the bottom, where we are always around to chat with our fans (or whoever wants to chat, we're not picky). Lastly, if you're enjoying the show, we humbly ask that you consider supporting us on Patreon to let us know that our efforts are not in vain. Thanks everyone, and enjoy the show!

This episode looks at the huge swing lots of people take upon being ‘woke’ for the first time. Even though a lot of this information is hiding in plain sight, many of us, for many different reasons, never see it. But when we do…. watch out. We go from not doing a thing, to trying to fix everything. Problem is, we usually do this from our perspective, which most times is really just being a different kind of Jerkface. The intention of this episode is to help us spot out and avoid the White Savior complex on our way towards the work of Anti-Racism. WATCH here. LISTEN here. This week for episode 112: In Recommended Listening I got to be a guest host for episode 40 of the Second Press Podcast, and I've got a jackass with fishy feet, but let's not forget what holiday just passed, I've gotta talk about my 4th of July. Happy Independence Day to all my American listeners! And to everybody else, hey! So once again I'm running behind this week, but in this case it can be directly related to the holiday. Long story short, since my wife was home, she decided we needed to spend the day being more productive and preparing for our upcoming vacation. Of course this meant cleaning, and going through lists, and shopping for the things missing from those lists. But, let's not forget the fireworks. What is the 4th of July without fireworks? At this point in my life, less stressful. There has been a big movement in recent years to remind people that, in general, dogs and cats DO NOT like fireworks. This goes for my 10ish year old Labrador /Dalmatian, Emmitt, with gusto. He isn't a big fan of most noises, big or small, so the giant unseen kaboom from our local Independence Day celebration has him barking his head off. On top of that, the entire ruckus scares my 4 year old, who wakes up crying until it's over. Of course, it's not that simple because our new neighbors came to acquire some fireworks of their own, and they kept up their personal show until nearly 11 o'clock at night. So who is left sitting up late trying to calm a 2 and 4 year old and a 90 lb. dog? In a world full of jerkfaces (us included), how can we possibly make a difference? Jesus gives us the pathway, and it starts with those closest to us. if we want to change the world, it starts with loving our neighbors.
Conflict is inevitable. Jerks in the workplace, stressful family dinners, trolls on Facebook—no matter where we look, conflict is waiting for us. The status quo is to be a peacekeeper; don't rock the boat, keep things calm, and protect our own status. Yet Jesus calls us to be peacemakers—people who proactively pursue reconciliation, who are willing to be honest, and who offer grace instead of judgement and condemnation.
We're surrounded by jerkfaces--no surprise there. So what do we do if we want to push back against the tide of awfulness around--and within--us? One word: empathy. This weekend, Chuck walks us through what it is, how it changes the world around us, and most importantly, how it is a critical part of what it means to be human.
How not to be a Jerkface. We’re all jerkfaces. Not necessarily all the time, but we live in a culture that has hardwired us for jerkface behavior. Think about it—when you’re driving, pedestrians are morons. When you’re walking, drivers are idiots.
Recorded live from an undisclosed location in New York, today's guest on the show is Jerkface. I would give you an intro to his work and accomplishments but you’re better off just visiting his instagram, search for incarceratedjerkfaces or just jerkface and just scroll through his paintings/murals while you listen. In this episode Jerkface talks about his excitement for creation, painting, work ethic, cubism, street life, murals, style, incarceration and the School of Visual Arts. Episode 77 is a wake-up call to anyone who has managed to miss this amazing Korean horror movie, "Train to Busan”(2016). You’ve missed your stop. Get the next train going back and jump right into this one! Your hosts will assure you that if you (like we) had thought we’d reached “peak zombie”, we were all wrong. Just when it seemed there was little else of interest coming from this sub-genre, this train came speeding along. Sure, some elements may remind you of “The Warriors” (1979), but Richard has been saying that it has all the best stuff from “28 Days Later”. Will still wishes that one starred Sandra Bullock. Your hosts talk a little bit about the finer points of movie popcorn and Britain’s love affair with pea gravel. Look, moss is just too quiet and a skellington could simply sneak up on you! Although there isn’t any gut munching to speak of, this movie really delivers on the suspense, the scares, and emotional investment into characters you can actually care about. Don’t get us wrong, there will be blood, just not buckets full. Just asking, but would you watch a series called “Undeadbeat Dad”? He rises from the grave every other weekend to disappoint his kids. What if they cast Jerkface to play the main character? Just asking. Why do your hosts get sidetracked? Because “Train to Busan” is so good it only needs 25 minutes of raving and a high recommend! So climb aboard and hold on tight- these zombies aren’t shambling! A special mahalo to Pa'ahana for Aloha ‘Oe. Traditional Hawaiian kine rendition! Episode 76 takes you back to 1986, but only after you’ve spent some time in 1959. Don’t worry, in “Night of the Creeps”, it will all make sense in the end! This is a movie from the mid-80’s with an axe murderer, parasites from outer space and some reanimated corpses. Will asks “What could go wrong?”. Make no mistake, reanimated corpses are a little boring to him, having just recently watched the completely crazy 1977 Japanese movie, “House”. As of late, Jolyon has been on a bit of a “Bruce Lee kick”, so don't sneak up on him! He takes time to wonder if “Get Out” is really just “The Stepford Whites”, but we’re told that it has some important social commentary. Richard explains how to hack the “blind boxed” collectible figures to get what you want. Did you know that Jerkface (not a jerk at all) actually lives in Colorado? Yes, Jolyon was at an event with him! There was a U.S. Senator, a Walking Dead assistant director and doughnuts! Oh, and never mind Ray Liotta as a dirty cop, we just found out there’s “Another Wolfcop” in the works! You know that thing where your hosts warn you not to put clips of a better movie into your not-as-good movie? Well, it turns out that putting a worse movie into your movie doesn’t serve to elevate it either! So, fire up the flamethrower and watch each other’s backs, because this one is a wild ride! Episode 44 defies expectations by going below them. No, wait- that was Mother of Tears! It gave Jolyon the jitters to be discussing this Argento sequel as the first one one of his films featured on the podcast. We promise to honor some of Dario’s good films soon! You guessed it, we’re talking about unfortunate sequels! But first, your trusty hosts will talk about what Ancient Egyptians looked like, a short called “Mercy, the Mummy Mumbled”, and a certain host being nominated for a Rondo Award. When it just can’t be avoided any longer, "Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Freddy's Revenge” and it’s reputed gay subtext (or just text) is up for scrutiny. Freddy doesn’t make with the puns and one-liners, but he wrecks a pool party and explodes a parakeet. So, there’s that. Never mind creeping around in dreams, Freddy just shows up. Then there’s "Book of Shadows, Blair Witch 2”. No witches, no book, but maybe a few incidental shadows show up. Theres a soundtrack full of 90’s awesomeness and Jerkface is in it! Richard watched "Halloween H20, 20 Years Later” and learned more about prep school than Michael Myers’ motivations. Are some of these movies worth a look just for fun? Should some be avoided at all costs? Listen and find out! This episode is coming at you faster than a snapping towel hitting a leather daddy gym coach’s ass! Episode 41 won’t threaten to rock your face off, it just will! It’s all about Heavy Metal Horror! Jolyon narrowly escaped the moors and the airport sniffer dogs and has returned from England. He saw a few good movies, one of which had him dreaming of Rome in the 1950’s. Will had all other thoughts and memories erased by a little gem called "Rock n Roll Nightmare”. Will says it’s like Evil Dead in Canada, but with big hair. This movie is such a bomb that Hitchcock would put it under a desk and let the audience worry about it. Should you watch it anyway? It’s so ridiculous that there’s no answer but yes! “Trick or Treat” (1986) is a better choice, offering up backward masking, dead Satanic rock stars, high school bullies, and the kid from “Family Ties”. Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne kinda show up too! Could someone do a fan edit combining “8mm" and "Super 8”? Maybe, but “Stranger Things” will do in the meantime. Or you could watch “Jerkface” (aka “Burn Notice”). If your shoulder isn’t made of cake but you believe in the Coca Cola Classic Conspiracy, this episode is for you!
