Chapters 0:26 Introduction to Meditation 2:32 Exploring Sacred Texts 6:58 Embracing the Bhagavad Gita 9:56 Comfort in the Psalms 11:07 Wisdom from the Upanishads 12:27 The Metta Sutta 13:26 Recapping Key Passages 15:26 Bringing Peace into Daily Life Summary In this episode of the Anxiety Coaches Podcast, I dive deeply into the idea of "Wisdom for the Soul," presenting a unique approach to meditation through a multi-tradition lens. As we explore this concept, I aim to demonstrate how grounding oneself in various sacred texts can profoundly aid in fostering peace and calm within the mind and body. Building on previous discussions, I reintroduce the practice of meditating on passages from notable spiritual sources, encouraging listeners to engage with the wisdom found within these texts. I guide my listeners through a meditative experience, where I share five different passages from various traditions. Each passage offers its own depth and insight, serving as a vehicle for listeners to connect more intimately with their present state of mind. I emphasize the importance of personal resonance, inviting individuals to discover which words may speak to them most powerfully, or perhaps inspire them to find their own meaningful verses for regular meditation. As we begin this meditative journey, I gently prompt listeners to tune into their breath, to observe its natural rhythm—whether fast or slow. This mindful awareness lays the groundwork for a calming experience. I stress the release of tension while settling comfortably, allowing body and mind to enter a state of relaxation yet alertness, which is crucial for effective meditation. With each sacred passage, I encourage listeners to mentally repeat the words, inviting the wisdom of each phrase to permeate their thoughts and feelings. #MeditationPractice #AnxietySupport #FindingCalm #SpiritualGrowth #WisdomQuotes #SoulNourishment #ReligiousWisdom #InspirationalSayings #PassageMeditation #InterfaithPractice #BreathworkMeditation #NervousSystemRegulation #InnerPeaceNow #MindfulLiving #StFrancisPrayer #BhagavadGitaWisdom #PsalmMeditation #UpanishadTeachings #MettaMeditation #LovingKindnessPractice #EmotionalWellness #MentalWellbeing #StressManagement #SelfCareSunday (or any day!) #ReflectivePractice #ContemplativePrayer #FindYourStillness #BePresent #EmotionalRegulationSkills #GinaRyan #ACP #AnxietyCoachesPodcast Learn more about your ad choices. Part 3 of this fascinating story of redemption! You will be lost if you skipped parts 1 and 2. Enjoy!PURE GOLD:80-90% of people are separated from the land of their inheritance. This limits access to the fullness of God's blessing, and the open heaven for rich encounters with the Lord. Ask the Lord if your family was taken from the land, or was the land taken from your family.BIO RECAP:Timothy Bence is a forerunning Kingdom of God builder, and has learned to walk in true sonship. He helps construct a foundation for others to build on, and instructs many to walk in their gifts, calling, and grace by being a part of the living body of Christ, the Ekklesia. He lives with a promise from the Lord, and a growing desire to see whole cities and nations saved where every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord.HIGHLIGHTS:– Finding a man of peace on each side of the Israeli / Palestinian border amidst the bombing and gunfire.– Asking for a new memorial to be written because the last time His name was written it was written by a Roman, and put on a cross. It called him the King of the Jews. But he's not just the King of the Jews. He's the King of kings.– Miraculous things start happening when you find the land that's calling your name! You begin to steward over the things He's calling you to steward over. Especially the presence of God.– Everybody that I know is praying for a move of God to come. But what if we don't know how to steward over the presence, when it comes we'll ruin it. Because we'll do something that dishonors the King of kings, or dishonors one another, and he'll take up the cause of the righteous, and he'll protect and uphold the rights of the widow and the orphan and the poor and the strangers among us.– If we despise anything that he despises, our field might stop producing fruit, not because it's not capable of it, but because God will require repentance before it will spring to life again.– The land will reflect to you the condition of your heart. If you're right with God, it will be a bountiful field. If you're not, it will let you know. This is how it's supposed to work from the beginning. This is why the garden was important. – This is really important. To understand that when you find your field. One of the highest and most fun things to do is to inquire of God about details on the field, what he wants, what he likes. If something's there, grow it out. If it's not there, plant it or build it.– You have to name it. The field really does come alive when you name it correctly, just like a child coming out of a womb. If I name it correctly, it's because I've discovered its creative purpose and design. So I don't want to call it something just because I like the name. I want to call it what God says it is. If it's a field of olives, then I'm going to give it a name that reflects that. If it's going to be a city, then I want to call out the name of that city. You want to name your field, what God says its inherent purpose is. Then that gives you a clue on what you're going to steward over all the days of your life.– In the book of Acts Barnabus was the first to sell property and give the money to the apostles. But this was actually an act of repentance for owning a field he wasn't supposed to have as a Levite. He would have had to find the heirs of the original land owner to sell it back into their family to restore their inheritance and make the land right again with God.LINK for TIMOTHY:– Contact Timothy Bence: IamTimothy@gmail.comLINKS for Bralynn:– Get Bralynn's Book! March 20, 1703. Today, almost fifty men, scattered around the city of Edo, Japan, are waiting to die. They're all former samurai who had served the same lord – and they all carried out a deadly revenge attack in his name. Their story will go down in history as the legend of the 47 Ronin. Why did these men decide that to be loyal samurai, they had to die? And how did this moment live on for centuries and become part of the national story of Japan? The main two ways we respond and react to conflict are to become defensive or hit back offensively. Colossians 3:12-15 teaches us that there is another path that leads to peace and it goes through the action of forgiveness.
Bible Verse of the Day: Scripture quotes for encouragement & strengthen your faith in God's Word
So I became great and surpassed all who were before me in Jerusalem; also my wisdom remained with me. Whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them; I kept my heart from no pleasure, for my heart found pleasure from all my toil, and this was my reward from all my toil. Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had spent in doing it, and again, all was vanity and a chasing after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/10-bible-verses/support

Another way to gain peace is by hearing the stories of those who have gone before us. Learning from the experiences of others is one of the great benefits of homeschooling-what worked and what didn't! Carole speaks with Connie Wright and her daughter, Ashley Becker, who found peace and success in their homeschooling journey. Connie and her husband transitioned to homeschooling after trying public and private schools. She then attended one of Carole's conferences and shifted their approach to literature-based learning. The world has been a witness to one of the deadliest conflicts in recent memory this fall with the Isreali/Palestinian conflict, and so many of us are feeling an urgency to help with no clear direction as to how. In this episode, we interview our colleagues, David Lahav and Emily McCarthy, two Vedic Meditation teachers based in Colorado who have recently started an organization called Meditate For World Peace as a response to the current strife in Isreal and Gaza. Lahav, formerly an Isreali military officer, and McCarthy are looking to teach thousands of people in Isreal in the next couple of years Vedic Meditation as a way to cool the collective in the area. We are very grateful to David and Emily for discussing this very sensitive topic with us as we discuss everything from the political minefield of the situation to how collective peace is established on the individual level of consciousness to the ripple healing effect of meditation. If you are interested in supporting Meditate for World Peace, you learn more about their mission and donate to their cause via their website: https://www.meditateforworldpeace.org/Show Notes:Meditate for World Peace Notes 1.24 Mission: What is it that we can do to actually help the current situation, apart from being on social media and talking to people about it and wanting to do something. “There is a big need to bring Vedic Meditation and teach many people in Israel to help individuals with the stress and grief that is happening. And also, me teaching many many people to create a collective effect that happens in the community, a coherence effect that's happening when a larger percent of the population begins meditating.” David 3.00 How does a big change in a region happen?4.00 Maharishi effect: 1% of the population meditating creates a change in a specific region. 5.30 Meditators feeling the effects of what is happening in the world “When something is happening on the other side of the ocean, all the waves feel it.” Kristen 7.00 Meditation deexcites and organizes. 8.30 The land of Israel as a focal point of conscious awareness. 10.30 The world as a body – all the cells feel it. We want to go to the axe wound. “No one is going to be safe if a conflict of this level is left unchecked.” Kristen 14.20 Political minefield 17.00 Ripple effect: Meditating for world peace is starting in Israel but it is not just about Israel. “The mission is not about us. We have a technique that we know how to teach, that we know creates change and the first project is beginning in Israel.” Emily 19.10 We want the bad guy meditating (it doesn´t matter who it is). “No matter what you believe, even if you think of Israel as the aggressor, they´re the bad guy in this whole scenario, well you want the bad guy meditating. You want their consciousness pulled. Or if you think the Palestinian´s are the bad guys. First of all, there is no bad guy in the Vedic view. It doesn´t matter what your stance is, this is going to help.” Kristen 20.26 Mission is teaching 1% of the population of Israel. In 2024 teaching 10,000 people. 21.23 Every $100 USD donated to the cause sponsors a meditation course for someone in Israel. 22.40 “Even for students in Israel who are not ready to talk about peace because there is so much emotion and feeling and trauma around this, then even for someone that´s not ready for that, it´s about healing on the individual layer. And all of the trauma that has occurred from the day-to-day life that is happening there and just healing yourself. We don't even need to talk about peace and world peace if people aren't ready for that right now. And that's okay. Meditation is here to reduce anxiety and bring greater happiness.” Emily 23.30 Peace comes from the individual 24.00 Leaders represent their people 25.00 With meditation everyone becomes extended self 26.00 David in the military experiencing unity with the other side “Our practice has the power to enact that, that experience of what is it like to be you. It really can be challenging to have experiences from the same level of consciousness from which we are creating the problem to begin with. And so, we introduce meditation, we begin to shift our state of consciousness and then the experience of what it is like to be another unfolds naturally and effortlessly. And if all of us were asking that question, more often, day to day, `what is it like to be you? ´ I feel like there would be a really powerful change in how we treat and view and see one another.” Emily 29.23 Masculine and Feminine energies 35.00 People living in flight or fight in Israel for decades 36.00 Life in Israel now 41.00 When we go off balance we crave things that take us further off balance43.00 Meditation is a virtuous cycle45.00 Stress and trauma 50.00 Meditation and community

When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. — Genesis 8:11 Maybe you have seen a picture or a logo showing a dove with an olive branch in its beak. That image draws from our reading for today. Over time, the image of a dove bringing a part of an olive tree has become a symbol for peace. When we look a little closer at today's passage, it becomes clear that Noah wasn't just passively waiting for good, peaceful news. He first sent out a raven, a robust bird that flew “back and forth” but apparently did not come back into the ark—probably because it found plenty of carrion to eat. Noah then sent out a gentle dove—a more vulnerable bird—to go looking for signs of new growth. And then he waited attentively. The dove soon returned because it “could find nowhere to perch.” So Noah brought it back into the ark for seven days. Then, when he sent the dove out again, it returned in the evening with an olive leaf. This meant the flood waters had receded to a safe level where the people and animals could flourish and thrive again, enjoying shalom (peace) in God's world. As we reflect on this, let's consider ways in which we might participate in bringing peace in God's world. Do we just say we want peace, or are we intentionally working toward it, even in small, possibly vulnerable ways? Are we also sharing the good news of Jesus, who brings peace and rest for people's weary hearts? Lord, help us to be bringers of peace in this world, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

Now sink into a comfortable position, And release all you're holding onto. LONG PAUSE… See if you can notice any thoughts that may be present, swirling around like leaves in the wind. Just observe them without judgment, allowing them to be there. LONG PAUSE… Know that it's natural for the mind to wander, to jump from one thought to another. But sometimes, those thoughts can become overwhelming, creating a sense of anxiety or unrest within us. PAUSE… So, in this moment, we will practice bringing peace to our thoughts. So see if you can imagine a gentle stream of water flowing past them. Allow your thoughts to rest on the surface of the water, watching as they drift away. PAUSE… Notice how the water is cool and soothing, calming the swirling thoughts in your mind. As your thoughts continue to float away on the water, feel a sense of peace beginning to settle within you. You may notice that your thoughts start to slow down, becoming less chaotic and more peaceful. PAUSE… Know that this practice of bringing peace to your thoughts can be done at any time, whenever you need it. It is always available to you, just like the calm and stillness that resides within. PAUSE… Namaste, Beautiful

It's Jamie's fault we needed a part 2 because he has so many amazing stories. We've been talking about how God has better blueprints than we could ever have for ourselves. We need to have a higher view of safety. If we can teach our kids to hear from God and know who they are then they can go anywhere. This is a must listen part 2 interview with Jamie Winship!Show Notes: https://bit.ly/3nnjmnv

Peace is something we all want. No one likes to be stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed with life. Jesus taught us a lot about our inner peace and our capacity to bring peace to those around us. Peace is certainly not something that drops from the sky. To be at peace with ourselves, other people, and our circumstances take intentional living. The text is, Blessed are the Peacemakers, from Matthew 5, The Sermon on the Mount Part 1. Pod 161
In this Bible Story, God chooses David, a young shepherd boy no older than 17, and is anointed king over Israel by Samuel. David did not know that he was anointed king, for only Samuel and God knew. This story is inspired by 1 Samuel 16. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is 1 Samuel 16:7 from the King James Version.Episode 84: While Samuel was mourning Saul's disobedience, God came to him and commanded him to go to Jesse's household, in the land of Bethlehem, to anoint the new King that God had chosen. David, the youngest among his brothers, was chosen as King and anointed by Samuel because of his heart. Meanwhile, Saul was tossing and turning, growing increasingly disturbed in his spirit. So his servant requested that Saul should send for David the son of Jesse to play music for Saul and to ease his troubled mind.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast.
