Operating on the premise that our failure to recognize our interconnected relationship to the rest of the cosmos is the origin of planetary peril, Ecological Solidarities: Mobilizing Faith and Justice for an Entangled World (Penn State University Press, 2019) presents academic, activist, and artistic perspectives on how to inspire reflection and motivate action in order to construct alternative frameworks and establish novel solidarities for the sake of our planetary home. The selections in this volume explore ecologies of interdependence as a frame for religious, theological, and philosophical analysis and practice. Contributors examine questions of justice, climate change, race, class, gender, and coloniality and discuss alternative ways of engaging the world in all its biodiversity. Each essay, poem, reflection, and piece of art contributes to and reflects upon how to live out entangled differences toward positive global change. Constructive and practical, global and local, communal and personal, Ecological Solidarities is an innovative contribution to the discourses on relational and liberative thought and practice in religion, philosophy, and theology. It will be welcomed by scholars of World Christianity and theology as well as seminary students, activists, and laity interested in issues of justice and ecology. Krista E. Hughes is Associate Professor of Religion and Director of the Muller Center at Newberry College. Dhawn B. Martin is Executive Director of the Source of Light Center in San Antonio, Texas. Motorcycle enthusiasts from across Indiana were invited to ride in the inaugural "Stands Up for Recovery" ride on Saturday, August 20th. Organized by Renegade Recovery, the ride began and ended at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center in Indianapolis. Proceeds from the event funded need-based scholarships for those seeking addiction treatment at the Harbor Light Center. Renegade Recovery was founded in January 2020 by Maston Willis as a clean and sober motorcycle group focused on recovery outreach fellowship. Its membership continues to grow and includes those who live 100% alcohol and drug free, those in recovery, and those who have lost loved ones to overdose. Since Renegade Recovery's inception, Willis has worked closely with Harbor Light staff to get those seeking treatment into the program with the help of funds raised by the group. The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center helped 927 men and women last year in their fight to break the bonds of addiction. As a guest speaker at the Light Center in Ajijic, Mexico, David was asked to speak about the topic of projection as it relates to spiritual awakening. Love extends, and the ego projects. David addresses the basic cause and effect relationship in the mind. All magic involves a belief that form can be causative. In the end, spiritual awakening requires the release of all magical beliefs. The process of forgiveness requires the exposure and release of the belief in external causation. When the level of fear is high, a mixture of magic and miracle may be helpful. The acceptance of the Atonement: The ultimate Correction, requires the release of all magical beliefs. Time and eternity can conflict until the belief in time is released. “...now is the closest approximation of eternity that this world offers. It is in the reality of now, without past or future, that the beginning of the appreciation of eternity lies.” ~ ACIM Svava sings 3 songs at the gathering. This talk was recorded on January 4, 2021, at the Light Center in Ajijic, Mexico.

We have to nourish that.” - Yvonne Rainbow Teplitsky This week on Relationships! Let’s Talk About It: How we handled conflicts in our relationship early on. Why managing conflict is a better focus than resolving conflicts. Why conflicts around money are often considered ‘unresolvable’. How my perspective on money - and its use - differs from Yvonne’s and how we manage this conflict instead of trying to resolve it. The importance of being curious and interested about your partner’s perspective on a conflict or problem. The impact of wallowing and getting stuck in a problem or conflict. The importance of feeding positivity into your relationship - especially during a conflict. The art of apologizing and how it helps you manage conflicts in your relationship. The importance of taking accountability and responsibility for your mistakes during a disagreement. An example of how we resolved a conflict related to my frequent mistake of putting dirty dishes with clean dishes in the dishwasher. The importance of understanding the underlying issues that come up during a disagreement or conflict. Why contempt is considered the number one poison in a relationship. Why it’s important for parents to model healthy communication during conflicts. How Yvonne’s upbringing led to how she used to manage and deal with conflict. How to set safe guidelines around how you will manage disagreements in your relationships. The difference between having an intense emotion around a problem or issue and yelling. Why yelling is notan effective way to address problems, issues, or conflicts and what to do instead. Strategies we use to calm down during a heated disagreement. Why stress does not always equate being productive or working hard on your relationship. The importance of couples encouraging each other to take care of themselves and nurture themselves. Guarding yourself against the Four Horsemen. What cross-complaining is and some examples. Why you shouldn’t bring up “deal breakers” during a heated conversation - unless you’re truly ready to end the relationship. Tips on how to ensure that you share the power, time, and space with your partner. The power of touch and the right attitude when touching your partner. Why it’s important to talk about agreements on how you will fight and when to do it. Glenn had been on a spiritual path for a long time. She started meditating in college with her roommate. She studied with amazing teachers, learning to trust her intuition more and more. She found herself letting go over and over again. She let go of control and listened more to her inner guidance. She let go of her fears and limitations. During one particular meditation, she let go of everything and met her Divine Soul. It had a profound effect on her inner and outer life. Inwardly, she experienced a deep love and connection beyond anything she had known before. Outwardly, she travelled the world and became a spiritual teacher. Listen to Glenn's story of what this process has been like for her, what shifted because of that connection to her Divine Soul, and how she is now helping other people connect to their Divine Souls. In this interview, Glenn shares: her experience seeing the world in its divine light form the question she asks herself to see if something is right for her her process to release her blocks the moment she met her Divine Soul how her life has shifted because of that meeting how she is helping other people connect to their Divine Souls Resources to Connect with Glenn: Divine Light Vibrations website - courses, meditations, and one-on-one sessions Vibrational Voyages website - Go-To Guides for Spiritual Beings her book How to Make the Most of Your Earth Experience her class Meet the Infinite You Glenn on Facebook Divine Light Vibrations on Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Google+ Other Resources Shared in this Interview: Transcendental Meditation Jim Goure and the Light Center
True prayer is described by Jesus in one of the two supplemental pamphlets that was scribed by Helen Schucman after she scribed A Course in Miracles. It is called The Song of Prayer and in this gem of a pamphlet, prayer is described as having many levels like rungs on a ladder which lead from the early forms of prayer to more advanced forms. The highest form of prayer, however, is what Jesus calls true prayer, and which involves a total willingness to "forget the things you think you need"(S-1.I.4.1). This type of prayer fits perfectly in line with his workbook lesson #24, "I do not perceive my own best interests". For in your complete willingness to forget the things you think you need, Heaven can finally be remembered. "You have sought first the Kingdom of Heaven, and all else has indeed been given you." (S-1.I.3.6)Dive deep into this Song of Prayer in your heart by listening intently to this talk of David's, recorded at the Light Center in North Carolina, April 25, 2015.
Just like the fig leaves that were used to hide Adam and Eve's "private parts" in the Bible story, this entire cosmos was made up as a "cosmic fig leaf" to hide our seemingly "private mind" from the Light! Although many spiritualities teach that this world was a divine creation of God, A Course in Miracles makes it quite clear that God actually had nothing to do with this world. In this wonderfully deep talk by David held at the Light Center in North Carolina, the metaphysics of the Course are gone into very deeply and clarified. What a relief to learn that this world was not made by God!Recorded April 25th, 2015.
Sandee Traeger of Wisdom and Wings Light Center is Starr's special guest. They will have a Soul Sister discussion about spiritual topics. Sandee indicates, "I have been aware of my psychic gifts for most of my life. I encountered a divine energy I acknowledged as my Guardian Angel at the age of four, and I was aware of my ability to channelmessages from Divinity at the age of six, and was practicing automatic writing and intuitive readings at the age of fifteen. I knew things, felt things, saw things and heard things throughout my life. For more information visit: WisdomAndWings.com http://touchingsoul.com/
