50 years ago, on Friday, April 4th 1975, two guys from Seattle launched a software company in a strip mall in Albuquerque NM.. That business would soon relocate to Redmond, Washington… and those Lakeside kids, Bill Gates and Paul Allen, did all right. The Windows operating system would go on to dominate the personal computer industry. Today, Microsoft is one of the most profitable companies in the world. And its presence laid the groundwork for the Puget Sound region as a hub for engineering and technical talent. The path to where we are now had some bumps: Antitrust problems, and product flops. But after 5 decades the company endures, and thrives – as one of the biggest players in the emerging AI space. Holding onto that status, and figuring out the next big thing in the tech world, isn’t easy. In light of the big 50-milestone, KUOW labor and economy reporter Monica Nickelsburg recently sat down with Microsoft’s vice chair and president Brad Smith to discuss the past, and the future, of the company.Guest: Monica Nickelsburg, KUOW labor and economy reporter and co-host of the Booming podcast Related Links: Booming - KUOW Tax the rich? Hard rock, industrial, and metal infused with lead guitar melodies inspired by violin melodies of Baroque classical composers Bach & Vivaldi. Kevin's latest album Cosmic Angels, is inspired by his visitations by Extraterrestrials. Elements in all his albums incorporate many things that have been taught to him by these other worldly visitors including but not limited to telepathic storytelling, and tonal language (of the cetaceans and whales). Kevin has been a guest on over 70 UFO Radio talk shows describing his UFO and ongoing Extraterrestrial Experiences. Kevin has always had a passion for UFO's, Extra-terrestrials. He spent over 20 years researching to understand why they are here. Kevin wanted to combine his passion of music with raising consciousness and awareness of the UFO and Extraterrestrial presence. He felt it was always his purpose in life. This calling was affirmed on August 21, 2014, when he had contact with an inter-dimensional craft of unearthly origin. Since then Kevin began experiencing many other related incidents like incredible synchronicities, music downloads, symbol downloads through dreams (Neck Illusions DNA Double Helix design on his guitar), and increased Telepathy. His musical downloads are discussed in UFO Researcher Grant Cameron's book “Tuned In: The Paranormal World of Music.” Many of Kevin's personal (CE5) ET encounters are discussed in “Inviting ET” by Su Walker. Summary The sermon discusses the importance of having a task that is bigger than oneself and challenges listeners to live for something greater. It emphasizes the need to know God and to be willing to lose things in order to gain Christ. The sermon encourages believers to push themselves and do great exploits for the Lord. Chapters 00:00 Living for Something Bigger Than Yourself06:46 The Danger of Flattery and Breaking Covenant14:37 The Challenge to Know God27:47 Losing to Win: Prioritizing Christ32:30 Overcoming Challenges and Doing Great Things for GodTakeaways Having a task that is bigger than oneself is the secret to longevity and fulfillment in life. Knowing God and having a real relationship with Him is essential for doing great exploits. The world and the devil will flatter those who break covenant with God, but true success comes from knowing and serving God. Challenges are necessary for growth and change in every area of life, including marriage, walk with God, and church experience. Believers are called to do great exploits for the Lord, including casting out demons, speaking in tongues, healing the sick, and overcoming demonic forces. Sound Bites "The secret of life is to have a task. Something you do your entire life. Something you bring everything to every minute of the day for your whole life." "Nobody likes to be challenged. But how many of you know when you come to serving Jesus Christ, it's an automatic challenge." "Faith without works is dead."
