As we welcome Bee back from her European travel escapades, INXS: Access all Areas roars back with a vengeance as we continue the Rock Star INXS theme with a forensic deep dive into the birth of the Billboard Charting hit Pretty Vegas. Commencing as a contestant activity, Andrew Farriss and Dave Navarro commissioned two teams to go away and write melodies and lyrics to a bed of music created by Andrew and the band. What follows is one of the most interesting and out there sliding doors moments whereby JD Fortune goes “psychotically clever” (according to rival Marty Casey) and constructs his own version outside group directive In addition, we are launching a brand new segment that shall allow any current or future patron to participate on any forthcoming episode with an emphasis on past concerts performed by INXS during their 1977-2012 live career. With a bumper NEWS section and a renewed vigour, this long awaited episode is not to be missed!!! On this edition of the Equality Series we discuss how the arts can be used to heal individuals affected by seen and unseen trauma, especially in black communities, with Dr Marty Casey, CEO at UnGUN Institute.
eKartingNews has launched a new program for social media and the EKN Radio Network - Face2Face. The show is broadcasted live over Facebook, with the audio version making its way to the only 24 hour / 7 days a week radio station. A new and unique event, with multiple organizations coming together, is set to take place in Utah this July. The United States Karting Grand Prix is scheduled for July 23-25 at the Utah Motorsports Campus. Among those organizations involved include the World Karting Association, TAG USA International and the Puget Sound Road Racing Association. WKA President Kevin Williams, TAG USA's Marty Casey and Aaron Stanford from PSRRA join Rob Howden for this episode of Face2Face to discuss the sprint and road racing event.
Eleanor LeCain talks about healing from trauma with Dr Marty Casey, founder of the UnGun Institute, dedicated to disarming Trauma in individuals and healing from collective trauma that plagues black communities.
Hurting People Hurt People. Trauma, when left untreated—unhealed—eventually manifests itself in continued expressions of trauma. It’s cyclical. And yes, we have experienced not only personal trauma, but cultural and collective trauma. Systemic racism is an expression of very deep, generational and wide, cultural and collective, trauma. What if these wounds of separation are at the core of many of our systemic issues? Would you do your work to heal trauma? Healing systemic racism is for all races, and trauma has no color.
As Black Lives Matter and the movement to heal and transcend systemic racism continues, we turn our awareness toward healthy, radical diversity. The invitation isn’t to separate, change, judge, or transform a person or their culture. The call is to come into a healing response of love, acceptance, respect and celebration for the beauty, wisdom and life-enriching value in our differences.
As Black Lives Matter and the movement to heal and transcend systemic racism and police brutality swells, we also need deep healing to release the trauma of violence in the mind, body, and soul. The UnGUN Institute is a model that engages the arts, deep connection, and communication of a common core language, to achieve positive outcomes for healthy relationships within communities. On August 9th, 2020, exactly six years after 18-year-old Michael Brown was fatally shot by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, a day of remembering and healing will take place throughout the world. The murder of George Floyd on May 25th of this year shocked the world. It brought a new focus to the longstanding patterns of senseless acts of violence in the U.S., and inspired the urgency to change the culture that has permitted it. A variety of community programs and organizations have been founded to draw attention to the problem. To connect these community programs, Black SON Day was created by Dr. Marty K. Casey, founder of UnGUN Institute, to globalize these initiatives.

I had the incredible experience of talking with Lovehammers' singer Marty Casey, bassist Dino Kourelis and drummer Bobby Kourelis in their practice studio in Chicago recently. Unfortunately, guitarist Billy Sawilchik wasn't there because he had the flu. I brought some beer and we just kind of hung out and chatted. They shared some funny stories about the early days of the band including some pretty wild parties. You can tell how down to earth these guys are and it's also obvious they work really hard at their craft and have no egos. After bringing them onstage on several occasions it finally dawned on me to ask them if I said their band name correctly - turns out I never did. Oops! That was my very first question, too. Thanks to John Gaskill from Pawnstar Productions for helping record this episode.
