The History and Legacy of “Mystery Science Theater 3000”,  continues its final chapter: The Next Generation! We're wrapping up Season 11 of MST3K: The Return with the last seven episodes of Jonah Heston's inaugural year. Obligatory Herculeses, South Korean Godzillas, multiple Wizards of supposedly lost kingdoms, talking chimps, Santa Clauses (or Santas Claus?), chonky forgotten actors, plus a robo-dragon in the moon's core. It's a lot of podcast for the generous price of $0.Plus, another installment of the Coolness Chronicles Community Outreach guest-starring Nicole and Caroline from one of my new favorite podcasts, Defining Disney. "Hollywood" Kalan really worked his connections this episode, to bring us the utterly wonderful Felicia Day (of The Guild, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, MST3K: The Return, and much more) to discuss seminal high fantasy, low budget epic "Hawk the Slayer." Meanwhile Dan drops a crazy Pink Panther fact, Elliott launches an insulting guess-by-mail contest, Felicia is intrigued by some fish-eating prowess, and Stuart's in this fantasy discussion like a fuckin' fish in water. Also, we're no longer accepting receipts for the charity raffle, but the whole video livestream show is available for viewing on our YouTube page. We give an exact figure in the show, but between you generous listeners and the show's own donations, we raised about SEVENTY THREE THOUSAND dollars for charity. Meanwhile, Kate discusses the effects of feeding dolphins LSD and $90 Japanese cat Legos. Ron sits in for Ryan, weighs the merit of “The Coneheads” movie, and finds it lacking. Greg looks at “Cars 3” and pronounces it generally enjoyable. In the Mini-Soda Review, Kate and Greg sample Jarritos Tamarind, a fruity tropical treat from Mexico. James reviews “The Screaming Skull.” And Kate takes Ron to the woodshed over the cultural and nutritional importance of breakfast. All this, and a big-eared baby elephant clutching a feather being told that it can fly, only to crush the jaded circus crowd watching below, because gravity is real and magic isn’t, on this episode of the Revival League Podcast! This week’s interview is Harold Buchholz, president of Alternaversal (Joel Hodgson’s new production company), as well as executive producer of “MST3K: The Return.” Harold reminisces about the Kickstarter campaign and making of season 11, and hints at the show’s future. Kate talks about the alt rock nerd band, Ludo, yowling house kitties’ midnight serenades, as well as how Cretaceous triceratops may have consumed that key ingredient in beer, the hops plant. Then the gang jumps feet-first into the murky waters of the incomprehensible Thai flick, “Crocodile Fury.” (A movie so bad, Ryan feigns illness to get out of watching the last thirty minutes). And Greg frolics with the snow leopards and chiru, while reviewing Disney Nature’s “Born in China.” Everyone samples Fitz’s Cardinal Cream (St. Louis’s version of Big Red), and finds their thirst sadly unrequited. In the first installment of “Children’s Movies That Scar Us For Life,” Ryan and Kate shudder at the nightmarish cartoons of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” And in Reviewers in the MST, James and Ron don some plaid and knock over some cardboard boxes while contemplating “Future War,”All this (plus Bonnie Tyler’s ill-thought out “B side” follow up on her album, Faster Than The Speed of Night, “Total Eclipse of the Pancreas”), on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! The podcast gang goes toe to toe with the jovial Zach Thompson, who plays Bonehead #2, the short and skeletal henchman in “MST3K: The Return.” Much to Ryan’s delight, Zach suggests that fans of Greg Tally should call themselves “Tallywhackers.” Meanwhile, Kate justifiably explains why female dragonflies fake their own deaths to avoid annoying males. And Ryan rails against the Christopher Reeve/Richard Pryor cinematic debacle, “Superman III,” while Greg can’t stop seeing the latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2.” A freezing accident and shattered bottleneck nearly leave Ryan sucking down glass shards rather than Orca Beverage Company’s Mr. Cola. Sometimes, it's tough meeting new people. This was not the case for us with MST3K: The Return, however. Host segments: fears assuaged, duelling Reptilicii, Dirch Passer's School of Comedic Engineering, the Copehagen folk dancing scene, Joe and Jeff give horrible dating advice.

The podcast gang sits down with actress and geek icon Felicia Day, who plays Kinga Forrester, the new head mad scientist in "MST3K: The Return." Ryan, Greg, and Kate discuss the Anne Hathaway kaiju vehicle "Colossal," as well as the latest Rifftrax live event, "Samurai Cop." Then it's time for a weighty discussion on the importance of clean driveways with Felicia Day. The gang embrace their inner Sadie Hawkinses and sample the syrupy moonshine knockoff Kickapoo Joy Juice Fruit Shine Red Sangria. And Ryan's Very Adamant Stance goes horribly awry when Kate and Greg reveal their hands as frenemies. All this and Don Knotts wistfully wishing he was a fish, on this week's episode of the Revival League Podcast! (This podcast does not represent Alternaversal, Shout Factory or the Kickstarter campaign in any official capacity). EDITOR’S NOTE: In June 2019, this podcast merged with the Damn Dirty Geeks Podcast and became The Damn Dirty Drive-in. These are our classic back catalog episodes, dating back to March 2016. Please enjoy! The new Drive-In podcast opens for business with original sketches, movie discussions, interviews, weird food tastings and more at Episode 168.
