This week I take on a listener's question about prioritising ideas: how do we decide what's most important? Is it better to do dig into one big thing or skim lots of little ones? In this short episode, I suggest it might be all about values, explain why I'm not really an artist, and consider how long-term working can be complimented by 'slight' ephemeral work. I also draw on the wisdom of previous HC podcast guest, Nadia Kamil. Get in touch if you have any questions around creativity, process, inspiration etc, and I'll give them a go in these weekly monologues. hackcircuspodcast.com

Alan Cumming stars in the film Any Day Now, set in the late 70s and based on a true story about a gay couple who become guardians of an abandoned young boy with Down's Syndrome. RHEFP 2013 #16: Colt Cabana, Fred MacAulay and Nadia Kamil - Flying Asshole. Richard is annoyed that terrorists have been nicking his ideas for atrocities by considering putting bombs in boobs, but is glad to see that Colin is back so hasn't died (but then is it possible for a ghost to die?). It's a podcast of contrasts with wrestler Colt Cabana discussing nearly coming face to face with a maniac with a gun, what happens if you wrestle a 9 year-old girl and the power of podcasting. Birthday girl Nadia Kamil has a feminist rap for your delight. And then Fred MacAulay is on hand to discuss jurisprudence, accountancy, Scottish independence and being a rector. He also says some words that you won't ever hear him utter on his radio show. And Richard discusses why he was sacked by Lorraine Kelly. I don't think there will be a more eclectic mixture of guests and stories on this podcast. Paul F. Tompkins, Andy Zaltzman, Cameron Esposito and Nadia Kamil join host Jesse Thorn and special guest Craig Brown in the pop-culture quiz show where land laws do not apply. There’s a lot of harking back to the Olympics, talk of outside the beltway credentials and do you know which film features Dennis Quaid as Steve Martin as Bill Clinton? Plus British Satirist Craig Brown calls in to talk about his new book which is either called “One on One” if you’re British or “Hello Goodbye Hello: A Circle of 101 Remarkable Meetings” if you’re American. Our theme music is USA Vs. White Noise by Ladytron and we’ve used Haul In The Bowline by dead parrot under Creative Commons license. Thanks to both for letting us use their work. Engineered at MaxFunHQ, Hollywood, California by Nick White with help from Lindsey Pavlis and at Guilt Free Post, London by Chris Morris. Special guests booked by Julia Smith, Development Director, Theresa Thorn. Thanks to Rosanna Arbon for helping to mix the show. Written by Sarah Morgan and Jordan Morris, produced by Colin Anderson
Danielle and David have been to see 'War Horse' and are joined by comedian and actress Nadia Kamil, to talk about her favourite film 'Labyrinth'
The Lost Treasures Of The Black Heart is a sort of comedy club in Camden town each month, where comedians, writers and musicians write special sets venerating an unsung hero or celebrating an obscure thing. It's very rough and silly. It's compered by Josie Long, who tries out new ideas and improvises things. We hope you like it, we wanted to make it as close to the bizarre, ramshackle nature of the night as possible. This first episode was recorded at the Black Heart on the 8th March 2011, during which everyone was given a free copy of David Nicholls' 'One Day' by a generous publisher (this is worth noting for when the acts refer to it). It features performances by Josie Long, Robin Ince, Nathaniel Metcalfe, Edward Aczel and Nadia Kamil. You can drop us a line at podcast@losttreasurespodcast.com, if you like!
