Outlouders, enjoy this free bite of Mia Freedman and Amelia Lester. Catch the full conversation — Mia & Amelia On CBK: The Clothes, The Curse, The Love Story — at 5 pm TODAY. Not a subscriber yet? That can all change here. There are two kinds of people: those obsessed with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy (CBK) and those who just don’t get it. Mia Freeman and Amelia Lester are firmly in the first camp. From Calvin Klein salesgirl to the most scrutinised woman in New York, Carolyn became a 90s' style legend — without ever giving an interview. Her marriage to John F. Kennedy Jr. turned her into paparazzi prey, her minimal wardrobe into a fashion blueprint, and her silence into an industry of speculation. On today's subs episode, Mia and Amelia dive into Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, the long-awaited dramatisation that had CBK obsessives in meltdown over wigs, hemlines and handbags. The show is a love story, but it’s also a slow-motion warning about paparazzi culture, pre-social media fame, and a woman who saw celebrity as a liability.Remember, this is your free sample of today's subs episode. Pirmasis epizodas kviečia nerti į 1993-iuosius: metus, kai Miuccia Prada pasauliui pristatė „Miu Miu“, Marcas Jacobsas neteko darbo ir tais pačiais metais tapo geriausiu JAV dizaineriu, o Kate Moss veidas tapo viso dešimtmečio simboliu. Sykiu šie metai žymėjo ir įdomų subkultūrų persipynimą, tad populiarumo piką pasiekė grandžas ir į popkultūrą įsiveržė drag karalienė RuPaul Charles.Ved.
Jane Taylor. Przekazywanie wiedzy i doświadczenia to jedna z misji Moniki. Pisz: agnieszka@oplotki.pl

We’re currently living through the ‘weight loss injections and plastic surgery’ era and frankly, things are getting complicated. In this candid, subscriber-only episode, Mia and Amelia deep dive into why so many people in Hollywood - and even some of our friend groups - are suddenly looking unrecognisable and just a little bit AI. In this episode, they unpack the alarming “thinspo” trend and also ask the question no one wants to answer: when did looking like a real human being become a radical act? It’s the conversation Mia’s been wanting to have for a long time, but one that feels increasingly like it’s off limits. It’s raw, slightly uncomfortable and exactly why you’re here. Remember, this is just a little sneak peak. The full debrief drops for subscribers at 5pm. We’re giving away a Your Reformer Pilates bed (worth $3,400). At this year's WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards, Billie Eilish asked, “If you're a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? Give your money away” — a line that instantly reverberated far beyond the room. It was a reminder of the event's magnetic pull and its place as a mirror for culture's contradictions. Under Editor in Chief Sarah Ball, WSJ. Magazine has become precisely that kind of reflection: glamorous, self-aware, and culturally indispensable. In this episode, Ball reflects on her path from a D.C. household stacked with newspapers to leading a magazine that continues to grow in both influence and revenue. She speaks about the art of editing in an age of speed, the new language of luxury journalism, and the enduring power of a story told with precision and care. ““I loved beautiful glossy fashion and style media, but I also loved very tart writing about style and fashionable people — that eyebrow-raised, gimlet-eyed, social scorecard kind of writing that mixed elegance and critique.” - Sarah Ball Episode Highlights: On Growing Up Surrounded by Media — Raised in a Washington, D.C. household that received five newspapers a day, Sarah describes an early life shaped by constant conversation, curiosity, and the sound of pages turning. On the Early Spark — Between Capitol Hill's newsroom corridors and stacks of Vogue and Vanity Fair, she found herself drawn to storytelling that combined politics, aesthetics, and human behavior. On Robin Givhan's Influence — She credits Givhan's fashion criticism for teaching her that clothing could be language — a way to read power, politics, and cultural change. On the London Years — A summer at the Associated Press covering the highs and lows of early-aughts London — from Kate Moss's tabloid saga to art auctions and nightlife — cemented her love for culture writing. On the Golden Age of Vanity Fair — She recalls the thrill of that newsroom under Graydon Carter: “You don't know you're in a golden age until the golden age is over.” On Quality Over Quantity — Ball resists the speed-at-all-costs mentality of digital publishing: “If what you're serving is reheated garbage, are you really going to keep that reader?” On The WSJ. Audience — She describes WSJ. Magazine as a luxury product with a discerning readership: “They pay a lot to access our content, therefore they expect a lot.” On Visual Storytelling — A cover, she says, must surprise: “It has to show you someone in a new light — a story and an image that feel like an experience you can't get anywhere else.” On Video and the Future of Formats — Ball sees video — particularly conversational formats like podcasts on camera — as one of the most powerful frontiers in media: “The informality of the video podcast is replacing entire swaths of traditional television. These conversations now shape culture in real time.” On What's Contemporary Now — For Ball, it's humor. “A playful and unself-serious sense of humor feels most contemporary — people laughing together again, not at each other.” Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode of Style DNA I go on a thrifting style journey with the British stylist, editor, author and long-standing champion of second-hand fashion the brilliant Bay Garnett. Often called the “Queen of Thrift”, she is known for her eclectic, vintage-infused styling and her belief in the creativity and sustainability of re-wearing clothes… yes to that! She started her career working on Cheap Date magazine where she worked on the second hand fashion advertising pictures, changing the font from high designer names to thrift stores and charity shops ( Salvation Army replacing Yves Saint Laurent, Cancer Care Calvin Klein, and so on). Her witty irreverent spreads were spotted by the editor of British Vogue Alexandra Shulman who invited Bay to work on the magazine's first charity shop fashion shoot and become a contributing Fashion Editor. Bay approached her good friend and thrifting buddy Anita Pallenberg to help her pull some looks together for Jurgen Teller to shoot Kate Moss in…the iconic shoot is often referenced by designers and creatives to this day. She went on to use vintage in all fashion shoots moving forward over 25 years. Working with photographers from Bruce Weber, Jurgen Teller, Tom Craig, Glen Luchford and Craig McDean. In 2016 she became an Independent Fashion Advisor at Oxfam and styled their first runway show, Fashion Fighting Poverty. In 2019 she Co- founded Second Hand September with Oxfam… the first campaign starred Stella Tennant and her daughter Iris, and then following year, Michaela Cole, then Sienna Miller and a new face each year. She is a true champion of second hand style … she tells me that a shocking 13 million pieces of clothing goes into British landfill A WEEK…food for thought… She shares her thrifting tips with me…it can be pretty intimidating to go thrifting if you have never given it a go. She is also the author of Style and Substance: Why What We Wear Matters (2022), a collection of essays exploring the deeper meaning of fashion and clothing. It is a beautiful and thought provoking book which I have enjoyed dipping in and out of. SOPH CAN WE LINK TO AMAZON? She is now working with Smartworks …the most amazing charity to help women prepare for interviews by assisting them with what they will be wearing (they have stylists on hand to guide them through the process), as well as helping them with interview techniques and then gives them several outfits once they have the job to set them on their way. Bay has been invited by Bicester Village to create her ultimate charity shop (open now for the next month). She has sourced everything and all the money goes to Smartworks…bravo! If you are nearby over the next month do pop in and check it out…you may even get the chance to meet her. We talk about age being a consideration as to how we dress…and some style hacks for remaining cool as the years tick by…funnily enough she is also a fan of a good belt! I hope you enjoy this episode. Thank you @baygarnettt for being such a great guest xx
Heute bringen The Lemonheads ihr 11. „It's About Time“, dass bei Stereo.Typen mal The Lemonheads geehrt werden.

Richard Corrigan has lived through—and helped shape—the restaurant revolutions that made London one of the world's great food cities. From his early days with the eccentric genius Stephen Bull at Blanford Street, through his game-changing decade at Lindsay House, to opening Corrigan's Mayfair on the very day he closed Lindsay House with a party, Corrigan's career is a story of grit, brilliance, and survival. He remembers the 90s buzz alongside Gordon Ramsay, Gary Rhodes, and Marco Pierre White, when Michelin stars were scarce, small kitchens did the impossible, and London's dining scene finally came alive. In this wide-ranging and unfiltered conversation, Corrigan recalls the madness and magic: Marco Pierre White denying he sat for a portrait—until it was bought by the National Portrait Gallery; Gordon Ramsay standing in his tiny Lindsay House kitchen asking how he pulled it off; and the supermodels who ran out mid-meal when told their limousines had arrived. He shares his passion for honest cooking, his disdain for overblown tasting menus and foodie fads, and his belief that hospitality is about turning even the worst customer into a loyal friend. Along the way, he dishes on everyone from Jay Rayner to Faye Maschler, from the King of Jordan to Kate Moss.Always outspoken, Corrigan cuts through the noise with clarity. Pizza, he insists, “isn't dinner, it's just bread.” Long lunches are a dying art. And the future of food lies not in obscure herbs or gimmicky “Scandi bowls” but in intelligence, honesty, and produce that sings. Whether cooking for three prime ministers, the Queen, or just another guest with a bad day to forget, Corrigan has never lost sight of what matters most: generosity, joy, and a little bit of sea salt in his pocket, just in case.-------Please leave us a great rating and a comment and share it with your friends - it really helps us grow as a show.If you're in the industry and are looking for the greatest POS system in the world than look no further -as Blinq are tearing up the rulebook—no long-term contracts, no hidden fees, and no per-device charges.Just £64 a month for unlimited devices and 24/7 UK-based support that's always there, in person when you need it.Built for hospitality, by hospitality, blinq is the fastest, easiest POS system on the market—so intuitive, anyone can use it. Johnny Depp prefers the shadows to the limelight, whether he's building a bomb with Hunter S. Thompson in the Rocky Mountains, or downing bootleg quaaludes laced with arsenic. After emerging as the leading art flick actor of the 1990s, prodding paparazzi's desire to paint him as a “novelty boy” often drove him to outbursts that ended in arrests, wrecked hotel rooms, and a miffed Kate Moss and Roger Daltrey. Yet even with camera flashes constantly lighting up his private life, plenty of mysteries still surround Johnny Depp…including the unsolved disappearance of his former Viper Room co-owner – who went missing just days before he was supposed to testify against Johnny in court. Here's the truth: 91% of women hate their bodies. Ninety-one percent. And if you're a mom? The research says postpartum makes it worse for 70% of us. No wonder so many of us look in the mirror and instantly spiral. It's not just about how we look - it's about our confidence, our joy, how we show up in our relationships, and yes, how we parent our kids. In this episode, we're getting brutally honest. From growing up in the Kate Moss “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” era, to disordered eating, to postpartum bodies that feel like total strangers, to the comments from strangers on the internet that can wreck your whole day (fuck Jeff) — we're unpacking all of it.But this isn't just a vent session. This is about breaking cycles. We're talking about the tiny shifts that change everything: How to stop trash-talking your body, how to practice gratitude for the skin you're in (even when it's hard), how to have REAL body neutrality, and how to raise kids who don't spend decades hating themselves the way so many of us did. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll feel so damn seen. And you'll walk away with the fire to finally say: My body is not the problem. It's my home, my power, and my story. This episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Subscribe to Throwing Fits on Substack. Our interview with Jay Massacret is incredibly stylish. Jay—stylist and industry legend—was finally pinned down for a rare conversation on his love of Muji and Orlsow jeans, gay dating apps, art vs. commerce and styling journeys vs. destinations, how commercial styling differs from celebrity styling, introducing Lee McQueen to Lady Gaga and his storied relationship both working and personal with the iconic designer, how social media has changed fashion, Kim Kardashian is wonderful, international parameters prevent clown shows, you made it moments being false flags, code switching on set, remembering when there were no straights in fashion, prefering to never meet your heroes, Karl Lagerfield getting saucy, being bullish on Matthieu Blazy's Chanel and Proenza Schouler's Loewe, partying with Kate Moss in her prime, monster fashion boots, good clothes are only 33.3% of the gig, annoying assistant behavior, the high gloss uber fantasy era, the stuff you hate is always the most interesting, missing the magazine group project mentality, pretending to be bi, San Francisco was actually the other culture in the ‘90s, confessions of an ex-sneakerhead, styling red flags and much more on Jay Massacret's interview with The Only Podcast That Matters™.
We sit down with the second half with the legendary Janice Dickinson—Supermodel, author, reality TV icon, and an unapologetic truth-teller—for a conversation that's as wild, real, and iconic as the woman herself. From the moment she enters the room, Janice doesn't hold back. She opens about her past relationships and the betrayal she faced when a close friend—none other than Christie Brinkley—was caught up in a shocking cheating scandal with her then-partner. With unfiltered honesty, Janice dives into heartbreak, girl code, and how she found the strength to move on and demand better. But love wasn't done with her. Janice recounts the serendipitous moment she met her soulmate, Dr. Rocky Garner, on a blind date set up by his son. From their dreamy Chateau Marmont first meeting to his romantic rainy-day proposal over In-N-Out burgers, this real-life love story could be a Hollywood rom-com—except it's all real. Patrik shares the glamorous tale of how he proposed to Pol'—shutting down Rodeo Drive in true fashion—for their televised engagement on E!'s New Money. (Yes, it's now streaming on Peacock!) The conversation then turns to her reality TV resume—from America's Next Top Model to surviving in the jungle on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! (three times!). Janice spills tea about fellow castmates, grueling stunts, public votes, and why she refused to eat certain local delicacies (bull eyeballs, anyone?). Of course we get into Hot Topics and Janice weighs in on Kanye West's wife Bianca Censori's controversial “outfits,” Jaden Smith's Grammys headpiece moment, and the AI-generated accents that landed Adrian Brody and Felicity Jones Oscar buzz. She's got strong opinions—and she's not afraid to share them. We also talk cancel culture, problematic past tweets, and whether artists like Carla Sofía Gascon should still be celebrated despite offensive remarks. Janice shares her own painful history with Bill Cosby, her role in the early days of the Me-Too movement, and how speaking her truth became part of her healing. Finally, we test her knowledge with a “Supermodel Pop Quiz” where she reveals behind-the-scenes stories about icons like Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Heidi Klum, and Anna Nicole Smith. We reflect on Anna's tragic death—and how deeply personal that loss still feels. As always, we close with a fashion Runway Rundown and a coffee ground reading from Pol' who sees exciting things ahead for Janice, including global travels, new ventures, and a long-overdue moment of public recognition that will put her right back on the throne she deserves. From fashion and fame to heartbreak, healing, and hilarious truth bombs, this episode is pure Janice: raw, radiant, and relentlessly real. This is another Hurrdat Media Production.
