Preston Lee has helped scale some of the busiest and most beloved hospitality businesses across the UK and beyond — but his story started like many others: behind the bar, with no clue what he was doing. In this episode, Preston breaks down how he turned personal failure into the foundation for The 30% Rule — a training and operations system that's helped restaurants and bars go from chaos to consistency. We talk about what most venues get wrong about training, why being nice isn't the same as offering hospitality, and how systems can make your worst night feel like your best. Whether you're an operator, bartender, or GM, this one is packed with real talk and real tools. What We CoverWhy only 30% of staff naturally operate at a high levelThe mindset shift that doubled revenue in a struggling venueWhy most managers fail (and how to stop it)The difference between service and hospitality — and why guests feel itHow to build training that actually worksWhat consistency really looks like on a busy Saturday nightCulture killers that start at the topWhy you can't scale a team without clear, repeatable systemsWhat closing early says about your businessWhy hospitality is one of the most valuable skills in the worldQuotes to Remember“Most restaurants don't have a training problem — they have a leadership and systems problem.”“Hospitality isn't about being nice. What if you could rebuild telecom from the ground up—open, decentralized, and powered by crypto? In this episode of The Index, host Alex Kehaya chats with Frank Mong, COO of Nova Labs, the team behind Helium Mobile—the decentralized wireless network now partnering with AT&T and Telefónica.Helium started with a bold idea: replace legacy cell towers with a community-powered network. The key unlock? Blockchain incentives. After years of experimentation, they figured out how to bootstrap real wireless coverage—starting indoors, where traditional carriers fail.Frank breaks down how modern buildings kill cell signal, and how Helium turns everyday Wi-Fi routers into indoor cell towers using open-source tools and a crypto-powered incentive model. Now users and businesses can earn rewards while improving service—no billion-dollar infrastructure required.Even more interesting? Helium's data lives on Solana. That transparency gives enterprise partners real-time visibility into network quality—something they can't get from legacy providers. And for users, the payoff is real: free phone plans (3GB/month, no credit card), plus affordable upgrades that save families hundreds. We also dive into:Why blockchain is the missing link for decentralized wirelessHow Helium's staking and incentive model worksWhat it means to build infrastructure at startup speedIf you're building in Web3, care about real-world utility, or just want better phone service, this one's for you.Helium Mobile: https://heliummobile.com/X Channel: https://x.com/helium_mobileShow LinksThe Index X ChannelYouTube

This week, we're breaking down bankruptcy in the way it should've been explained all along: without shame, without legal jargon, and without the “womp womp” energy we've all been taught to bring to it.You've probably heard of Chapter 7. Maybe even Chapter 13. But unless you've filed for bankruptcy, or know someone who has, you've likely never learned what it actually means. We kick things off with the viral rise of the “debt strike” trend on TikTok and Instagram, where people are publicly declaring they're done paying back debt and explore what it says about our cultural relationship to money, morality, and relief. Then we get into:What Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 actually areWho qualifies and howWhat a “means test” is and how it worksWhat happens to your credit score and your sanityThe real costs (financial, emotional, and social) of filingAnd why bankruptcy might more of a mental health intervention than we give credit for Along the way, we myth-bust the stereotypes and unpack why bankruptcy, like divorce, might just be a legal reset that deserves more empathy and way less side-eye.Links: Episode 174: A spike in bankruptcy (Topic #2) Connect with Julien and Kiersten on our website, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.Join our email list to get updates from us, opportunities for discounts, freebies and a quick rundown on the relevant financial and career news impacting your life. I am the Law of Moses Mosaic of Redemption Essential Church March 23, 2025 SUMMARY The message explores the relationship between the Old Testament law and New Testament grace, highlighting several key points: 1. **Misunderstanding of Salvation**: It challenges the belief that salvation was achieved through law in the Old Testament and through grace in the New Testament, emphasizing that both Testaments focus on a relationship with God rather than mere rule-following. 2. **Purpose of the Law**: The law is depicted as a means to reveal God's character and humanity's inability to fulfill it perfectly. It serves as a reflection of God's heart and intentions for humanity. 3. **Role of Grace**: Grace is essential for salvation, as no one can fully keep the law. Jesus is portrayed as the only one who fulfilled the law, offering his life for the eternal life of others. 4. **Sin and Human Nature**: The law exposes human sinfulness and the tendency to rebel against God, illustrating that attempts to find happiness apart from God lead to sin. 5. **God's Heart for Humanity**: The laws are intended for the well-being of humanity, reflecting God's care for the poor and marginalized. They guide people toward a fulfilling life rather than restricting joy. 6. **Faith Over Works**: The Project emphasizes that a loving relationship with God, based on faith, is the foundation of salvation, rather than a checklist of good deeds. This summary encapsulates the main themes and teachings presented in the sermon, focusing on the interplay between law and grace in the context of Christian faith. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. **Understanding Salvation**: How do you interpret the relationship between law and grace in your own faith journey? Do you find yourself leaning more towards one than the other? 2. **Purpose of the Law**: In what ways do you think the law serves to reveal God's character? Can you identify specific examples from your life where you felt guided by these principles? 3. **Role of Grace**: How does the concept of grace influence your understanding of forgiveness and redemption? Can you share a personal experience where grace played a significant role? 4. **Sin and Human Nature**: Why do you think humanity struggles with the tendency to rebel against God? How can understanding this tendency help us in our spiritual growth? 5. **God's Heart for Humanity**: How do you perceive the laws of God in relation to societal issues today? In what ways can these laws guide us in addressing modern challenges? 6. **Faith vs. Works**: What does it mean to you to have a relationship with God based on faith rather than works? How can this perspective change the way we approach our daily lives and interactions with others?
Faith and works are inseparable components of genuine Christian life. While salvation comes through faith alone, authentic faith naturally produces good works as evidence of heart transformation. These works manifest primarily as acts of mercy - helping those in need, showing forgiveness, and extending grace to others. Through biblical examples like Abraham and Rahab, we see how true faith inevitably leads to obedient action. This understanding challenges believers to examine whether their faith is producing tangible evidence through acts of love and mercy.Key Verses:James 2:14-26Deuteronomy 6:4Romans 4:1-4Matthew 23:17Key Takeaways:True faith results in works.Faith without works is dead.Mercy is a crucial expression of faith.Understanding scripture requires context. Our actions should reflect the mercy and love we've received from God.Reflection Questions:What does it mean for faith to be 'dead' without works? How can we ensure our faith is reflected in our actions? Why do you think James uses Abraham and Rahab as examples? How can we show mercy in our daily interactions? What are some practical ways to live out our faith in our community? How do you reconcile the teachings of James and Paul regarding faith and worksWhat role does mercy play in your personal relationships? How can we as a church community support each other in living out our faith?Practical Application:This week, identify one area in your life where you can show mercy or perform an act of kindness. Make a conscious effort to act on it and reflect on how it impacts your faith journey.Support the show

As a Type-A overachiever and recovering perfectionist, I will come clean about something:I often override my body's signals to get one more thing done. How does this look in real life? • It may be squeezing in another hour of work when I am tired and know I should go to bed.• It may be me being consistently late for appointments which causes my heart to race.• It may be me crashing into the couch on Friday evenings because I didn't take enough breaks for rest and play during the week. Does this resonate? When we wear the badge of busy, we can often neglect our health and well-being. My guest today, Dr. Susan Lovelle, explains why it is time for us to invest in our health and well-being as much as we do in our careers. During our conversation, Dr. Susan and I chatted about:The building blocks for optimized health and well-beingThe signs and symptoms that may pop up when your well-being is out of whackWhat benefits are for us and our companies when we are in a balanced state of performanceWhat the LeanHormone Metabolic Reset is and how it worksWhat the Hormones in Heels Masterclass is and how it leads deeper into Dr. Susan's workAnd we touched on Dr. Susan's book, Thrive: The Five-Week Guide to Mastering Your Energy at Any AgeThere's a lot of powerful information that we packed into this interview, so listen in!

today, in a few short hours, Grandpa Bill will be welcoming back for his second appearance on my BH Sales Kennel Kelp Holistic Healing hour, This is an overview regarding what Simon Luthi and I will discuss to include:The Lucia Light. The Lucia N°03 Meditation Lamp offers you a path to deep meditation without any of side effects of mind altering drugs or the years of training needed to master various relaxation techniques. Guided by patented algorithms, the Lucia N°03 generates gentle frequencies of flickering light that dance across your closed eyelids, passing through to the retina and then on to the pineal gland; creating a one of a kind visual experience reminiscent of a kaleidoscope. In a matter of minutes the stroboscopic light system triggers brain wave patterns that would usually only appear after years of meditation practice, guiding you through the various levels of your consciousness. The Lucia N°03 Meditation Lamp is a gateway that will help you find your path to becoming more creative, relaxing, self-improvement and helping you deal with life changing events. How it Works: THE LIGHT ENTERS THE BODY The wide-spectrum solid and flickering light enters the body through the closed eyes, travels along your optic nerve and into the central brain (where the pineal gland and thalamus are located). As your cells communicate through impulses of light within the fascia, the light spreads through your body. YOUR SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED Waves of light travel through the fascia, and the brain entrains to the pulsing rhythm of the light. As you move deeper into the experience, neural networks and chemicals are activated, your body deeply relaxes and your unconscious world comes to life. YOU ARE IMMERSED INTO A MEDITATIVE EXPERIENCE As the visual scape opens, worlds and experiences start to flash before your eyes revealing your inner light. Thoughts fade away as you follow your breath and the music through the unfolding colors, patterns, shapes, journeys, memories and/or lucid dreamscapes. The Lucia N°03 is a tool for accessing deep states of awareness, making it easier to return to similar states on your own. In this episode, you'll also hear: Why not writing can sometimes be the best way to get motivated to write again — and how to take productive writing breaksHow to find inspiration in other authors' worksWhat to do if you don't have the kind of support you need as a writerHow to practice rewards-based motivation when the words don't come easyA powerful combination that will help you find successIt's normal to have days — or even weeks! — where you don't feel like writing. The important thing is not to let those days turn into months or years. So here are a few tips to help you get motivated when you don't feel like writing.1. Take Time Away from WritingThis may seem like counterproductive advice, but sometimes taking a break from writing is exactly what you need to get back on track. When the words don't come easy, writing gets overwhelming, and you don't feel motivated to keep going, give yourself permission to step away from your work and time to focus on something else. Use that break as an opportunity to do something that brings you joy, like:Spending time with your spouse Hanging out with friends Going for a walk in nature Watching a funny movieWhatever helps clear your mind and leaves you feeling refreshed and energized, give yourself permission to do it! Enjoying activities that are unrelated to writing can be exactly what you need to give your creativity the space to thrive — and then it will be able to lead you back to writing with greater motivation than you had before. 2. Read Other AuthorsReading other authors' work can be really helpful when you just don't know what to say or the words don't come easy, because it gives you an opportunity to learn new techniques and gain fresh perspective. Plus, it can spark your inner creativity and fire, propelling you into a place where you can't seem to stop writing because you want to share your own point of view on a word, phrase, or idea those other authors have written about. When you read books by other authors who write in the same genre as you, or that focus on the same types of topics that you do, you can then tap into their wisdom to get the spark you need to get going on your own project. Now you have a fresh perspective and newfound enthusiasm, and now writing doesn't seem like such a chore anymore. So if you feel stuck and you need motivation, consider turning to other authors for help.3. Join a Community of WritersGenerally speaking, it's so much easier to do things in a community than to do them on your own. It makes a huge difference when you have someone in your circle who knows you've committed yourself to a particular goal and can encourage and inspire you to stay on track. Unfortunately, not everyone has that type of support when it comes to writing. If that's you, you might need to join a writing community either online or in your local area. Joining a writing community can be an invaluable source of motivation and accountability, as it gives you people to share your writing successes and challenges with, and who can offer both understanding and constructive criticism when needed. Having your tribe, your people to engage with, can provide a much-needed boost of encouragement, as well as helpful tips and advice to help you move forward. So if the words don't come easy and you're trying to do this thing alone, don't let doubts or discouragement keep you from writing! Look into joining a writing community instead.4. Practice Rewards-Based MotivationThis concept is talked about extensively in the book The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. Essentially, rewards-based motivation works because it incentivizes us by pushing us forward because of something that we're looking forward to. For example, you might take yourself out for coffee after completing a chapter of your book, and buy yourself a new coffee pot after you finish your entire first draft. But it doesn't have to be big or expensive — it just has to be something that will make you feel rewarded for your progress and motivated to continue writing. This can help you break through those creative blocks that are holding you back from reaching your goals. You Have the Power! You have the power to be a motivated writer. You just have to tap into strategies like taking time away from writing, reading other authors, joining a writing community, or practicing rewards-based motivation, so you will be more determined to push forward — even when the words don't come easy. Every writer is different, so take some time to experiment with each of these methods to find what works best for you. It's also important to remember that you can achieve success through the powerful combination of patience, persistence, and prayer. This is a marathon — not a sprint. So don't beat yourself up if you don't see immediate results. At the same time, don't be afraid to push yourself out of your comfort zone. You may be surprised which strategies are able to jumpstart your productivity. Even When the Words Don't Come Easy, You're Not AloneIt's hard to stay creative and motivated when you're struggling to put pen to paper. Plus, not being able to write consistently can be really frustrating, and it can feel like you are the only one who is struggling. But remember that you are not alone. The Christian Authors Network is here to help you stay motivated and creative as you write your book. Our free monthly challenges are designed to give you that extra push of motivation, while a supportive community helps you to keep going even when the going gets tough and the words don't come easy.
