Some suggest the tower was once an early colonial windmill, others believe maybe it was built by Vikings centuries before Columbus, or maybe it served a more esoteric function as both a solar calendar, or maybe even an ancient camera obscura.    See more here: https://ournewenglandlegends.com/podcast-383-newports-mystery-tower/    Check out Jeff's new underground publication Shadow Zine! https://shadowzine.com/    Zombie Prom 2025: https://www.facebook.com/events/8436374219799853        Listen ad-free plus get early access and bonus episodes at: https://www.patreon.com/NewEnglandLegends

History is riddled with countless enigmatic mysteries - so much of our chronology is shrouded in a cloak of unknown and the Newport Tower is no exception. Commonly thought to be the remains of a Rhode Island windmill, is a round stone tower located in Touro Park in Newport, Rhode Island. The tower presents copious riddles regarding its origins of construction and the epoch in which it was erected. Theories include local efforts, the pre-Columbus Vikings, the Templars, extraterrestrials, and everything in between. On this week's episode of Lost Origins, Andrew and CK are schooled on all things Newport Tower by the one and only, Jim Egan. As the number one authority on the tower, Jim serves as the curator of the Newport Tower Museum and has spent decades pouring his time, energy, and passion into unraveling the mystery of the tower. Jim Egan has worked as a professional photographer Providence, RI for 30 years. Before the digital photography revolution, he lived in an upside-down world using his 4 by 5 view camera. He has invented and marketed a line of photographic tools, including the Visualizer, the Quick Stick, and the Depth-of-Field Finder. He is a member of the New England Antiquities Research Association and the Renaissance Society of America.

William Mann takes us on an amazing journey through time Many have searched for the lost treasure of the Knights Templar, most famously at Oak Island. But what if the treasure wasn't lost? What if this treasure--necessary to sanctify the Temple of Solomon and create a New Jerusalem--was moved through the centuries and protected by a sacred lineage of guardians, descendants of Prince Henry Sinclair and the Native American tribes who helped him? Drawing on his access as Grand Archivist of the Knights Templar of Canada and his own role as a descendant of both Sinclair and the Anishinabe/Algonquin tribe, William Mann examines new evidence of the Knights Templar in the New World long before Columbus and their mission to protect the Holy Bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. He reveals the secret settlements they built as they moved westward across the vast wilderness of North America, evading the European Church and Royal Houses. He explains how the Templars found refuge in the Sacred Medicine Lodges of the Algonquins, whose ceremonies and rituals bear striking resemblance to the initiations of Freemasonry. He reveals the strategic intermarriages that took place between the Natives and the Templars, furthering the Holy Bloodline and continuing the lineage of blood-guardians. The author explores how Sinclair's journey from Nova Scotia across America also served to reactivate the sacred rose lines of North America through the building of “rose castles” and monuments, including the Newport Tower and the Kensington Rune Stone.  Pinpointing the exact location of the Templar treasure still hidden in North America, the author also reveals the search for Templar sanctuaries to be the chief motivation behind the Lewis and Clark expedition and the murder of Meriwether Lewis. www.templarsnewworld.com

Now, in episode number 175, interviews from Masonic Con 2016, this was the first occurrence of this public event hosted by the brethren of Ezekiel Bates Lodge in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Masonic Con 2016 featured a number of excellent presentations that explored a variety of subjects from Renaissance art to Knights Templar in America, and even the Cabala. In these recordings you’ll hear a very brief introduction interview with Brother Aaron Chauncey discussing the event, then an interview with Jim Egan about his extensive research into Elizabethan-era magus Dr. John Dee and the Newport Tower in Newport, Rhode Island. More information about Egan’s work can be found at the Newport Tower Museum and online at http://www.newporttowermuseum.com/. Finally, we have an interview with David Brody who specializes in historical fiction, including the Knights Templar in America. More information about Brody’s work can be found at http://davidbrodybooks.com. I also want to mention that Masonic Con 2017 will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Ezekiel Bates Lodge in Attleboro, Massachusetts beginning at 9 AM. Admission is free and it’s open to the public. There will be lectures by Angel Millar, Robert Johnson, Piers Vaughan, Richard Cassaro, Oscar Allyene, Paul C. Smith and yours truly. Then after the break Cam and Kyle talk about the Newport Tower. Who could of built it and does it have Masonic ties? Also called the Old Stone Tower, Touro Tower, Old Stone Mill or, simply, The Tower, standing near the west end of Touro Park in Newport, Rhode Island, the round stone structure and its park owe their existence to the generosity of Judah Touro, who in 1854 gave the City of Newport $10,000 to buy the land so that it would not be developed into home sites. Founded in 1639, the town of Newport had grown up the hill from Narragansett Bay and Newport Harbor to engulf the meadows that lay above the shore. This book unveils an ancient secret that is so powerful that it reveals the history of ancient civilizations as far back as 10,000 BC. The secret unlocks previously unknown geoglyphic messages left by ancient peoples, around the world, for future generations. The book traces the movement of ancient Europeans during their pre-Columbian colonization of the Americas. Over 200 documentary photos.Author of Ancient SignpostsAll my life I have marveled at the stories my Grandfather told me, as a child, about the Faram family in England. These were stories that occurred prior to their immigration to the U.S. from England in the early 20th century.During the research I learned that, as is the case today, heads of state, and the persons close to them, possessed certain ancient information that allowed them to know things and prosper in ways that the common man did not. It was while compiling and verifying my family history that I was led from Galicia and Portugal, to Denmark, Scotland, Britain and eventually the United States. If you are a fan of the Celtics (The civilization, not the basketball team.) you know that each of these countries played major roles in the history of the Celtic empire. Rather than writing another book about the Faram clan, I direct your attention to some of the buzz words related to our family history; Farum Brigantium, Templers, Vikings, Henry Sinclair, Jamestown, Lord Baltimore, and the Newport Tower, RI USA. You can preview, and order the book, “Ancient Signposts” at http://www.thefaramfoundation.com/bookad.htm.
