It was BOHO who somehow discovered Rachel Raw by inviting her to play one of his infamous All Night Longs in Cologne. It was back then when the 29-year-old realised what joy and fulfilment sharing the music that she holds dearly in her head and heart brings and when she decided to express herself not only at home but in front of complete strangers. A task that in the beginning seemed dreadful but became totally routined after her first appearances. 2019 will be Rachel Raw’s year, catapulting her from Cologne’s underground scene to the rest of the world with a focus not only on her DJ sets - with nothing less but an India tour in the making - but also on her label. The city’s music history includes Johann Sebastian Bach, Matthias Tanzmann and Thomas Brachmann. However, Brachmann is probably rather known under his acronym TOM B. Although TOM B. reads “tomb”, “grave” in the English language, in the context of music, it stands for his DJ sets and productions fully enjoying live. People say that Leipzig is the new Berlin, especially when it comes to clubbing and music. Paul Kalkbrenner was born here, however, he moved to the capital, later. What used to be dark and sooty due to the established industry and coal mining is now surrounded by newly created see landscapes, thriving with new life. Leipzig has come to be known as “Hypzig”. TOM B., born in 1984 on the southern outskirts of the trade-fair city, has experienced that amazing change first-hand, has even given it is own face. He started to perform as a DJ in 1999. In 2001 he had his first gig in the legendary Distillery club that is Germany’s oldest House & Techno Club. Up until the year 2005 he was a Distillery resident, he was the first five years of the millennium at home, here. Since 2009 the Skyclub is his home base, unless he has gigs in Amsterdam, Budapest, Berlin, Hamburg or Munich. Additionally, TOM B. has been a member of Dusted Decks right of its outset, which counts 9 years by now. His sound is characterized by House, Deephouse and Tech House. Remixes for David K. and Nicolas Hannig, M-22 and Anton Ishutin are what he is known for. TOM B. will take part in the “About:Berlin” Compilation by Universal Music and present “Drive without Engine”. His productions are released on Damm und Klang Gymnastik, Fukai, Music/Great Stuff and Well Done! together with remixes by Lexer, Teenage Mutants and Rich vom Dorf or by Ron Flatter, Nico Pusch and Thomas Lizzara. Even if the year 1984 – which marks the birth of TOM B. – predicts a rather dark vision in the eyes of George Orwell in 1949 – we have to say that looking back at 1984 now, in 2015, that year must have been an excellent one! Chinese Chills Ep.1 (30 hours to nowhere)   Happy Birthday Denise! Told you.. I’ll House you!   Downtempo Progressive house with a hint of Nu-Disco.   Not referring to real Chill out but to the fact that I mixed those upcoming sets whilst travelling in China. The trip was horrid, when murphy’s law being the default mode. Furthermore, it was cold, chilling, freezing cold hence the title of the series.   First episode was mixed during a 30 hours’ period, with 5 connections for a itinerary, which really ought to have taken half the time. Tired, pissed off and needing some soothing music.   But if anything, this tempo 120/121 is my chill tempo. Leipzig and its musicians – they are quite something. The city’s music history includes Johann Sebastian Bach, Matthias Tanzmann and Thomas Brachmann. However, Brachmann is probably rather known under his acronym TOM B. Although TOM B. reads “tomb”, “grave” in the English language, in the context of music, it stands for his DJ sets and productions fully enjoying live. People say that Leipzig is the new Berlin, especially when it comes to clubbing and music. Paul Kalkbrenner was born here, however, he moved to the capital, later. What used to be dark and sooty due to the established industry and coal mining is now surrounded by newly created see landscapes, thriving with new life. Leipzig has come to be known as “Hypzig”. TOM B., born in 1984 on the southern outskirts of the trade-fair city, has experienced that amazing change first-hand, has even given it is own face. He started to perform as a DJ in 1999. In 2001 he had his first gig in the legendary Distillery club that is Germany’s oldest House & Techno Club. Up until the year 2005 he was a Distillery resident, he was the first five years of the millennium at home, here. Since 2009 the Skyclub is his home base, unless he has gigs in Amsterdam, Budapest, Berlin, Hamburg or Munich. Additionally, TOM B. has been a member of Dusted Decks right of its outset, which counts 9 years by now. His sound is characterized by House, Deephouse and Tech House. Remixes for David K. and Nicolas Hannig, M-22 and Anton Ishutin are what he is known for. TOM B. will take part in the “About:Berlin” Compilation by Universal Music and present “Drive without Engine”. His productions are released on Damm und Klang Gymnastik, Fukai, Music/Great Stuff and Well Done! together with remixes by Lexer, Teenage Mutants and Rich vom Dorf or by Ron Flatter, Nico Pusch and Thomas Lizzara. Even if the year 1984 – which marks the birth of TOM B. – predicts a rather dark vision in the eyes of George Orwell in 1949 – we have to say that looking back at 1984 now, in 2015, that year must have been an excellent one! I am Frost combines music, video and words into a multimedia work of art that appeals to the eyes, ears and mind in equal measure. The story behind his new EP "No Way Out" follows on seamlessly from the previous EP - "The Path to Cognition" - and can be understood as a second chapter in this story, with the third chapter awaiting in winter 2014. These three words best describe the feeling that is created when I am Frost performs at clubs and festivals. I am Frost – is the stage name of German producer René Frost. René was born in 1987 in the German village of Feldberg in and currently lives in the capital of techno, Berlin. It was at Fusion Festival where René first experienced that magic moment that infected him with a passion for electronic music. In 2009 he left his village to study music production at the SAE Institute in Berlin and soon became part of the globally active artist collective Vergissmeinnicht. Since 2005 René has been practicing his trade as a DJ and has since rocked countless parties in the German-speaking area. He has played at clubs & festivals such as 3000° Festival, M.I.K.Z., Docks, Kiste Baden, Suicide Circus, Café Gold, MS Stubnitz, MAGDAlena and others. In 2013 I am Frost re-launched himself with a new name, a new concept and an elaborate live and visual show to bring open-air vibes to even the darkest of cellars. In summer 2013 he released his first single: a remix of Zio’s “Sag wenigstens Tschüss”, which also made it onto Zio’s album and was released by Berlheim Media Group. In December 2013 he released his debut EP – The Path to Cognition feat. Robin Schulz Remix. Robin’s remix reached more than a quarter of a million plays and was presented to a bigger public for the first time. In April 2014 he released the song Noom on the first Jannowitz Records compilation with Nico Pusch, Toni Rios, Patty Kay and others. Recently he recorded his second EP – No Way Out and invited the German producer Tinush to make a remix. Here is our first Afterhour Sounds Podcast by ... ...Nico Pusch. He was born in 1986 and grew up in a small town in the north of Germany near the Baltic Sea. Due to the support of his uncle, he came in touch with music from around the world pretty early, with being influenced most by artists like for among others Marek Hemmann, Aka Aka, Oliver Schories or Stephan Bodzin. With the passion for electronic dance music rising at the age of 14, he bought his first computer to start producing his first tracks with great enthusiasm, and to realize his ideas without limits.
