For this week, on the HHM podcast, I decided to chat about the basics PLUS. Meaning, taking a basic ingredient and then putting your own spin on it. While you can apply this to so many things on your plate, I decided to focus on chicken. In the coming weeks, I will feature different ingredients. This basic of the American table has many benefits and can be cooked in many different ways. Not that I recommend having it daily (variety is KEY in nutrition), but I DO want to encourage you to try new flavorings, cuts and cooking methods. NOTE: ALWAYS buy organic vegetarian fed when you can! This is super important! You are whey you eat eats.... you don’t even want I know what commercially raised chickens eat. No really. Welcome to this week's Friday jam session. I'm so happy you're here. This is always one of my week's highlights, and I love spending time with some awesome people and answering some great questions. If you'd like to join in on the fun each week head over to takeactioncrew.com, it's totally free, and we get together every Friday at 10 am Eastern, where I answer your questions about your business. Today we're going to be talking all about how to use your Pinterest traffic to build out your email list. Now it's time to sit, back, relax, and lets officially kick off this week's jam session! Can You Drive Pinterest Traffic to Build Your Email List Yes, it's definitely possible to build out your email list using Pinterest traffic. However, it's important to make sure that you're creating the right type of content that targets the right people you want to bring to your website. Today I'm going to answer this question in detail and go over what it looks like with a few examples. Let's dive right into Pinterest and learn how to make it happen! When you create a piece of content to put on Pinterest or your website, you always want to make sure that it's specific to the person who is visiting your site or searching for topics related to that content. The Power of a Good Lead Magnet When you're ready to create a lead magnet to help drive traffic to your website and encourage people to sign up for your mailing list, always make sure that it's relevant and fulfills a need for someone visiting your website. Think about what type of problem they might be facing if they click on your Pin on Pinterest and go to your site. What type of content can you create to help solve that problem? The goal of using Pinterest is to create assets that people can save to their own boards to reference later and share with others. When someone clicks on the pin, it takes them a specific webpage on your site related to the topic described on the pin. When someone gets to your site from Pinterest, a pop-up, or signup where they can get a freebie that will help them solve their problem is a great way to capture their interest. You're giving them something of value, and in exchange, they're giving you their email address. This makes them feel like it's a good trade instead of just asking them to sign up for an email list without giving them anything upfront. Note: Always make sure to confirm that a visitor wants to receive the freebies and include the word "yes" to make sure they know what they are agreeing to. Avoid Generic Opt-In Forms Honestly, no one wants to sign up to be on a mailing list without incentive. If you just ask someone to sign up for your list without anything in return, they won't know what to expect, and chances are they won't sign up. They want a specific piece of content that will quickly help them solve a problem quickly. Consider creating a lead magnet that piques a person's interest and encourages them to signup for your mailing list to get the piece of content. An opt-in form is a great way to show visitors what they are getting. Make it well worth their time and give them something they can actually use. Avoid making people have to go through extra steps to give you their information. Keep in mind, the more barriers you create, the less likely they will stick around long enough to sign up. Like I mentioned earlier, always make sure the opt-in is tailored for your specific audience. The problem you're helping to solve on Pinterest should be similar to the content you're offering on your website. Note: Never ask for a person's last name. For an opt-in form, you just need a person's email address and first name. Think Outside the Box I recommend avoiding using the words subscribe to your opt-in forms. Instead, just say something like "get your free guide" and include a similar phrase such as "yes I want my free guide" at the bottom of the form. Make sure it's easy to read, simple, and the fonts and colors aren't overwhelming and detract from the content you're offering to visitors. If you're driving traffic to your site, you should always have either an opt-in form on your sidebar or header (using Hello Bar plugin), a pop-up, or embed the opt-in within the content. Drive visitors directly to your blog instead of an opt-in form so they can have access to all the resources you have to offer. A Final Note From Scott I hope you found this Friday, Jam session to be helpful! You can definitely build an email list on Pinterest, but it shouldn't be your main focus. Instead, I recommend always driving visitors to your blog instead of directly to an opt-in form so they can have access to all the other resources that you have to offer. As a reminder, if you ever want to attend one of our live Friday jam sessions, head over to takeactioncrew.com to join us. We'd love to have you. Thank you for listening. I enjoyed having you here! Remember, I'm here for you, I believe in you, and I'm rooting for you! Now it's time for you to take action and go rock your brand! Takeaways From This Episode 1. Today my good friend Chris Shaffer and I are talking about how to drive traffic to your Amazon products using Facebook Ads, and we’ll give our honest opinion about when it can be valuable and when it might not be beneficial. Let’s dive right in. Are Facebook Ads Worth It? This conversation will be focused on talking about making Facebook ads to sell products within the Amazon eco-system. Note: Don’t utilize Facebook ads until you’ve made sure to maximize the resources that Amazon has already provided to you. You’ll end up getting more bang for your buck by taking advantage of using Amazon advertising. When people are on Amazon, they’re on the search to buy something. So when you spend your advertising dollars there, you have more of a chance to make a sale. Whereas people on Facebook aren’t necessarily looking to buy something and it might be difficult to convince them to buy your product from an ad if they’re not actively looking to buy a similar product. There may be times that you can’t make the pay per click platform on Amazon work for you or if you’re at the “point of no return” and have spent all you can advertising on Amazon and it’s no longer leading to sales it might be a good time to look at how you can get external traffic. Keep in mind that Amazon doesn’t necessarily prefer external traffic. It actually converts at a much lower rate if you’re not already optimized within Amazon, and it will negatively affect how you rank organically if you’re conversion is really low from external traffic. Use Facebook Ads As a Secondary Marketing Tool However, there is something to be said about being on the same playing field as your competition. If everyone is selling on Amazon and using the same strategy and set of resources and tools, it might be hard to stand out. When you add the external side and learn how to incorporate it and make it work, you might just be able to get a leg up from your competition and leverage your rankings. The key is that it’s an addictive piece of marketing. You need to make sure that you have a solid foundation first. The most qualified traffic does exist on Amazon, so exhaust all your efforts there first before paying for additional traffic. You can also use your email list or other free sources, but just don’t pay for any more traffic until you’ve all you can internally first. Two Ways to Drive Traffic From Facebook to Amazon There are two main ways that you can bring people to your Amazon product by using Facebook Ads. Although we strongly recommend the second option we’ll cover both. Sending Ad Traffic Directly to Your Amazon Ad This is usually not a recommended method for three mani reasons. Driving people who are looking at say cat videos to go and buy cat liter can be a tough sell since they weren’t planning to make a similar purchase. This creates a low conversation rate. You’ll never have a chance to talk to any of the people you advertise to again or if they end up going to Amazon and abandon their carts before they make a purchase you have no way of getting in front of them again unless they happen to see your ad for a second time. It’s hard to track what traffic and sales you’re getting from Facebook and where they are coming from. We can look at it from a correlation point of view, but it’ll be hard to see the cost of each sale. If you create a storefront on Amazon, you can create custom URLs and can track how many people purchase your product from the Facebook link. This makes it easier to track conversation rates. Create Your Own Landing Page ConvertKiit has a great landing page feature, and Giveaway Boost works great too. You can run Facebook Ad for your product and can visitors to a custom landing page. This way, you’ll be able to collect their email address and now have a targetable audience you can reach out to in the future. The goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to do the task that you want them to complete. By creating a landing page, you’re able to take advantage of all the cool features inside Facebook ads like conversion optimization, which is the secret sauce behind the most successful Facebook ad campaigns. You’ll choose the targeted audience that you’re looking for. You can’t do that if you drive traffic directly to Amazon. You can also go back later and see what other types of products people who bought your product be interested in. Does It Make Sense to Use Facebook Ads For a Single Product If you only have one product to sell it might not be worth doing Facebook ads. You’ll lose money If you only have one product to sell, it might not be worth doing Facebook ads. You’ll lose money or break even to get data, and it’s a lot of planning to get it to where your product is profitable. Paid traffic makes it hard if you’re just selling one product. If you have a reorder product, it makes more sense to advertise on Facebook or if you have multiple products. You can always send out emails or create ads that feature your additional products for those who have already purchased it with you before. If you lose money on a reorder product during the first sale, chances are you’ll make more when that person purchases again because you’re not paying to get their business the second time around. Note: Always maximize your advertising efforts on Amazon before creating Facebook Ads for your products. You also need to have a good grasp on Amazon pay per click before you move on to Facebook ads. If, for some reason, that isn’t going to work or it’s not doable in your category, then go to Facebook ads. It’s an easier conversion because people are already there looking for things to buy, and there are fewer moving parts you need to worry about. Learn the Game to Drive More Sales First and foremost, you have to figure out how to market your products on Amazon if you want to make sales. This is the most important part of your business. We always talk about building an email list and creating content because if you can get good at that part of the process, you’ll be in a good position. Your product needs traffic for you to sell. You can drive traffic fast with Facebook ads, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll convert that traffic. You may not make money on your first sale, but if you create content, you’ll be able to make a profit much quicker. Always look at the big picture and analyze what other products or services your customers need and how you can create additional offerings to help them out. The goal is to drive people to a piece of content or product that you can control. Giveaway Boost is a great plugin and gives you the formula to make this successful. You can create a page with an offer that you can control. It’s easy for people to signup and get a coupon code once they have. The best part is you can target those people later and create an email list and communicate. What to Ask Before Creating Your Facebook Ad There are a few things you should take into consideration before moving forward with creating your Facebook Ads. Let’s review those now. How Do You Want to Run the Ads The most successful approach is to create your own landing page. You’ll also need to establish who your target audience is and decide what offer you’ll give when they come to your landing page. You need to have this all figured out before you can set up your ad and get it ready to go. You could also consider leading the Facebook ad with an informational freebie like a checklist, download, or guide related to your product niche. On your thank you page, you could have a discount for your product. This way, you’re giving something valuable before asking them to buy something. It's an effective marketing tool. Who Do You Want to See Your Ads If you want to target existing customers, you can download your customer list from Amazon. If you go this route giving a coupon can be effective since they’ve already purchased from you. If you’re not using existing customers and go into broad targeting, it makes more sense to use a giveaway or to provide something an informational freebie and then make the sale on the backend once you’ve cultivated and built the relationship. Always test it to see which works best for your market and brand before making a final decision of what works best in the long run, If you don’t have a business with multiple revenue streams, it’ll be harder to make ads work. You can also offer promotions if they buy more of your product to bring in additional sales. Or start to make content related to your product niche. Amazon Is the Unicorn of Online Sales Platforms Amazon has made it so easy to put your product on there and start to make money, but it’s not always that easy, especially with Facebook Ads. They do give you lots of features, but it’s not easy to turn it into revenue. Generally, you need to plan for the worst and work towards the best when you’re advertising your new product. You need to work on creating a real business for Facebook Ads to work. You don’t have to create content to create an email list, but we highly recommend it. You need to build your business and not just sell a product to make it a channel that works best for your business. When you have additional people, you can reach out to it’s beneficial and will make it much easier to scale in the long run. You can drive as much traffic to amazon as you want, but how do you scale that in a profitable way? Have a bunch of other products or provide visitors wit ha place where they are paying you back with ads or affiliate links that you have on your site. Garlic is perhaps the easiest vegetable to grow. In the Spring you plant it, wait for it to grow, and then pick it when the stems, like onions, start to die. Collect your garlic, clip the ends, and then place it in a hanging onion bag. Store in a cool, dry area. I hang ours in the basement and then pull one out when I need it for cooking or for when I want to mince garlic like I will show you in this article. Minced garlic is one more thing you can add to your DIY food projects. Why go to the store and spend money on something that takes very little time at home to make? When you purchase food from the store, you never know what's in it, not really. Garlic bought from the store is stored in preservatives, but here we are going to use olive oil. Knowing precisely what you're eating is priceless. Garlic has many benefits which you can read about here https://heatherearles.com/garlic/. Besides how it can help you health-wise, there are different ailments that garlic can alleviate, like curing an earache https://heatherearles.com/earache/. No matter how you look at it, the only thing not going for garlic is the smell on your breath and sometimes body odor, but they can be eliminated by: Mouth washLemon waterBrushing and flossingEating fresh veggies and fruitDrink a cup of green teaChew gum (non-aspartame)Drink milkChew fresh herbs such as mintWashing and using good hygein Why do garlic and onions cause bad breath? Allicin. When the insides of a garlic bulb are exposed to air, a substance called alliin turns into allicin, which then changes into several sulfur-containing compounds that give garlic its smell.Allyl methyl sulfide. This compound is released from both garlic and onions when they are cut. Once eaten, the substance is absorbed into the bloodstream, and emitted through the lungs and skin pores.Cysteine sulfoxide. This sulfuric compound in garlic and onions causes an unpleasant odor on the breath almost immediately after the vegetables are eaten.Medical News Today Well, now that we got that straight let's move right into why you came to read this article in the first place. How do you make minced garlic? Step #1 You'll need several heads of garlic and pure olive oil. Step #2 press the head of garlic down on the chopping board to loosen the cloves. Separate your cloves by pressing the head of the garlic with the palm of your hand. Step #3 Place the wide part of a knife or other flat object on each clove and lightly crush, making it easier to peel and remove the paper type skin. Cut the ends. Do this to all of the cloves. Step #4 Now add all of your peeled cloves into your blender. Turn on and blend until they are coarsely or finely minced. Step #5 Using a spatula, place your cloves in a clean glass jar and pour your pure olive oil over the minced garlic until it is covered. Step #6 Cover the jar and store it in your refrigerator up to two months. Step #7 Use your now, minced garlic in Italian dishes, salad dressings, as a rub over meat, and other recipes. Note: Always keep the garlic covered with the oil. Keep refrigerated and use pure olive oil. If you don't use pure olive oil, it will solidify when you place it in the fridge. Well that's it folks. Go out and find some garlic and help your heart and blood pressure. Also get those antioxidant, anti viral, anti fungal, and cancer preventer properties that garlic has to offer. -Heather Earles

On Episode 6, The Beauties sit down with guest, Cecilia V, to discuss the holiday blues. The holiday season is well underway. October rolled in and we began to see both Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations in stores inviting patrons to fill their homes with cheer. There is one question though, how about those whose season is filled with sadness because they don’t have anyone to share that time with or because the season comes with reminders of loss? What do we about those feelings? Who do we turn to for help? Episode 6 of Chatting with The Beauties will discuss some of those feelings as well as give you some tips on how to deal with the holiday blues. Note: Always remember you are not alone regardless of the season. Use your resources, reach out to us if you need to; we’ll share ours. When to Negotiate There is a relatively small window of opportunity to negotiate during the hiring process. It is between the time the company makes you a bona fide job offer and the time you accept that offer. Any earlier, and it's all hypothetical. And you may be shooting yourself in the foot by asking for more too early. Any later, and it's too late. The company isn't likely to give you more AFTER you've said yes. A bona fide job offer is typically in writing, or at least a formal verbal offer of employment. If you are unsure, you can ask “Are you officially offering me the position?” What are My Options? You have three options when a job offer is made: -Accept the offer as-is -Reject the offer -Negotiate the offer Should I Negotiate? If you are completely, totally happy with every aspect of the offer, then you don't have to negotiate. I highly recommend that you ask for a few days to a week to consider the offer before accepting. This gives you time to thoroughly evaluate the offer and keeps you from looking “desperate.” When is “No” the Appropriate Response? -When you have already accepted another offer -When you know the company or job is in direct conflict with your values and career goals -When you know the salary or other aspects of the job don't mesh with your needs (i.e. doesn't pay enough for you to live on, extensive travel for a new mom) -When you hear or read considerable intel that the company is financially unstable, your prospective boss is very difficult to work for, or the work environment is toxic. NOTE: Always do this politely so you aren't burning your bridges. How do I Negotiate? Let's assume you are in the window for negotiations. If salary is the issue: -Research salaries for the same or similar jobs in the same geographic region -Send a letter of negotiation with a counter-proposal for your salary, and provide statistics from the research you've conducted Tips for negotiating from Harvard Business Review, written by Deepak Malhotra: Don't underestimate the importance of likability. “People are going to fight for you only if they like you. Anything you do in a negotiation that makes you less likable reduces the chances that the other side will work to get you a better offer. This is about more than being polite; it's about managing some inevitable tensions in negotiation, such as asking for what you deserve without seeming greedy, pointing out deficiencies in the offer without seeming petty, and being persistent without being a nuisance. Negotiators can typically avoid these pitfalls by evaluating how others are likely to perceive their approach.” Help them understand why you deserve what you're requesting. “They also have to believe you're worth the offer you want. Never let your proposal speak for itself—always tell the story that goes with it. Don't just state your desire (a 15% higher salary, say, or permission to work from home one day a week); explain precisely why it's justified (the reasons you deserve more money than others they may have hired, or that your children come home from school early on Fridays). If you have no justification for a demand, it may be unwise to make it. Again, keep in mind the inherent tension between being likable and explaining why you deserve more: Suggesting that you're especially valuable can make you sound arrogant if you haven't thought through how best to communicate the message.” Make it clear they can get you. People won't want to expend political or social capital to get approval for a strong or improved offer if they suspect that at the end of the day, you're still going to say, “No, thanks.” If you intend to negotiate for a better package, make it clear that you're serious about working for this employer. If you're planning to mention all the options you have as leverage, you should balance that by saying why—or under what conditions—you would be happy to forgo those options and accept an offer. Understand the person across the table. Companies don't negotiate; people do. And before you can influence the person sitting opposite you, you have to understand her. For example, negotiating with a prospective boss is very different from negotiating with an HR representative. You can perhaps afford to pepper the latter with questions regarding details of the offer, but you don't want to annoy someone who may become your manager with seemingly petty demands. On the flip side, HR may be responsible for hiring 10 people and therefore reluctant to break precedent, whereas the boss, who will benefit more directly from your joining the company, may go to bat for you with a special request. Understand their constraints. They may like you. They may think you deserve everything you want. But they still may not give it to you. Why? Because they may have certain ironclad constraints, such as salary caps, that no amount of negotiation can loosen. Your job is to figure out where they're flexible and where they're not. If, for example, you're talking to a large company that's hiring 20 similar people at the same time, it probably can't give you a higher salary than everyone else. But it may be flexible on start dates, vacation time, and signing bonuses. On the other hand, if you're negotiating with a smaller company that has never hired someone in your role, there may be room to adjust the initial salary offer or job title but not other things. The better you understand the constraints, the more likely it is that you'll be able to propose options that solve both sides' problems. Be prepared for tough questions. Many job candidates have been hit with difficult questions they were hoping not to face: Do you have any other offers? If we make you an offer tomorrow, will you say yes? Are we your top choice? If you're unprepared, you might say something inelegantly evasive or, worse, untrue. My advice is to never lie in a negotiation. It frequently comes back to harm you, but even if it doesn't, it's unethical. The other risk is that, faced with a tough question, you may try too hard to please and end up losing leverage. The point is this: You need to prepare for questions and issues that would put you on the defensive, make you feel uncomfortable, or expose your weaknesses. Your goal is to answer honestly without looking like an unattractive candidate—and without giving up too much bargaining power. If you have thought in advance about how to answer difficult questions, you probably won't forfeit one of those objectives. Focus on the questioner's intent, not on the question. If, despite your preparation, someone comes at you from an angle you didn't expect, remember this simple rule: It's not the question that matters but the questioner's intent. Often the question is challenging but the questioner's intent is benign. An employer who asks whether you would immediately accept an offer tomorrow may simply be interested in knowing if you are genuinely excited about the job, not trying to box you into a corner. A question about whether you have other offers may be designed not to expose your weak alternatives but simply to learn what type of job search you're conducting and whether this company has a chance of getting you. If you don't like the question, don't assume the worst. Rather, answer in a way that addresses what you think is the intent, or ask for a clarification of the problem the interviewer is trying to solve. If you engage in a genuine conversation about what he's after, and show a willingness to help him resolve whatever issue he has, both of you will be better off. Consider the whole deal. Sadly, to many people, “negotiating a job offer” and “negotiating a salary” are synonymous. But much of your satisfaction from the job will come from other factors you can negotiate—perhaps even more easily than salary. Don't get fixated on money. Focus on the value of the entire deal: responsibilities, location, travel, flexibility in work hours, opportunities for growth and promotion, perks, support for continued education, and so forth. Think not just about how you're willing to be rewarded but also when. You may decide to chart a course that pays less handsomely now but will put you in a stronger position later. Negotiate multiple issues simultaneously, not serially. If someone makes you an offer and you're legitimately concerned about parts of it, you're usually better off proposing all your changes at once. Don't say, “The salary is a bit low. Could you do something about it?” and then, once she's worked on it, come back with “Thanks. Now here are two other things I'd like…” If you ask for only one thing initially, she may assume that getting it will make you ready to accept the offer (or at least to make a decision). If you keep saying “and one more thing…,” she is unlikely to remain in a generous or understanding mood. Furthermore, if you have more than one request, don't simply mention all the things you want—A, B, C, and D; also signal the relative importance of each to you. Otherwise, she may pick the two things you value least, because they're pretty easy to give you, and feel she's met you halfway. Then you'll have an offer that's not much better and a negotiating partner who thinks her job is done. Don't negotiate just to negotiate. Resist the temptation to prove that you are a great negotiator. MBA students who have just taken a class on negotiation are plagued by this problem: They go bargaining berserk the first chance they get, which is with a prospective employer. My advice: If something is important to you, absolutely negotiate. But don't haggle over every little thing. Fighting to get just a bit more can rub people the wrong way—and can limit your ability to negotiate with the company later in your career, when it may matter more. Think through the timing of offers. At the beginning of a job hunt, you often want to get at least one offer in order to feel secure. This is especially true for people finishing a degree program, when everyone is interviewing and some are celebrating early victories. Ironically, getting an early offer can be problematic: Once a company has made an offer, it will expect an answer reasonably soon. If you want to consider multiple jobs, it's useful to have all your offers arrive close together. So don't be afraid to slow down the process with one potential employer or to speed it up with another, in order to have all your options laid out at one time. This, too, is a balancing act: If you pull back too much—or push too hard—a company may lose interest and hire someone else. But there are subtle ways to solve such problems. For example, if you want to delay an offer, you might ask for a later second- or third-round interview. Avoid, ignore, or downplay ultimatums of any kind. People don't like being told “Do this or else.” So avoid giving ultimatums. Sometimes we do so inadvertently—we're just trying to show strength, or we're frustrated, and it comes off the wrong way. Your counterpart may do the same. My personal approach when at the receiving end of an ultimatum is to simply ignore it, because at some point the person who gave it might realize that it could scuttle the deal and will want to take it back. He can do that much more easily without losing face if it's never been discussed. If someone tells you, “We'll never do this,” don't dwell on it or make her repeat it. Instead you might say, “I can see how that might be difficult, given where we are today. Perhaps we can talk about X, Y, and Z.” Pretend the ultimatum was never given and keep her from becoming wedded to it. If it's real, she'll make that clear over time. Remember, they're not out to get you. Tough salary negotiations or long delays in the confirmation of a formal offer can make it seem that potential employers have it in for you. But if you're far enough along in the process, these people like you and want to continue liking you. Unwillingness to move on a particular issue may simply reflect constraints that you don't fully appreciate. A delay in getting an offer letter may just mean that you're not the only concern the hiring manager has in life. Stay in touch, but be patient. And if you can't be patient, don't call up in frustration or anger; better to start by asking for a clarification on timing and whether there's anything you can do to help move things along. Stay at the table. Remember: What's not negotiable today may be negotiable tomorrow. Over time, interests and constraints change. When someone says no, what he's saying is “No—given how I see the world today.” A month later that same person may be able to do something he couldn't do before, whether it's extending an offer deadline or increasing your salary. Suppose a potential boss denies your request to work from home on Fridays. Maybe that's because he has no flexibility on the issue. But it's also possible that you haven't yet built up the trust required to make him feel comfortable with that arrangement. Six months in, you'll probably be in a better position to persuade him that you'll work conscientiously away from the office. Be willing to continue the conversation and to encourage others to revisit issues that were left unaddressed or unresolved. Maintain a sense of perspective. This is the final and most important point. You can negotiate like a pro and still lose out if the negotiation you're in is the wrong one. Ultimately, your satisfaction hinges less on getting the negotiation right and more on getting the job right. Experience and research demonstrate that the industry and function in which you choose to work, your career trajectory, and the day-to-day influences on you (such as bosses and coworkers) can be vastly more important to satisfaction than the particulars of an offer. These guidelines should help you negotiate effectively and get the offer you deserve, but they should come into play only after a thoughtful, holistic job hunt designed to ensure that the path you're choosing will lead you where you want to go. Someone once said that "love is never having to say you're sorry." Correction: Love is having to say you're sorry all the time! If you're going to keep making mistakes, it's a good idea to learn the best way to apologize. Communication expert, Michael Angelo Caruso, says the perfect apology goes something like this: 1. Always apologize seated not standing and face-to-face, rather than via text. 2. Use the words "I take full responsibility for everything bad that's happened," whether it's true or not. Note: Always consult an attorney for the best legal advice. 3. Don't forget to actual do the deed. Say, "I am sincerely sorry." 4. Don't pressure the other person to accept your apology. Instead, say you're sorry and then add, "...I'd love to start over with a fresh slate so we can have a better relationship." 5. Do NOT allow for conversation after the apology, lest you both re-open bad feelings and another argument. Give the person time to embrace your olive branch. Caruso has published and spoken about this subject for nearly two decades. Official Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com Podcast-We spent the day installing and filming two complete Harley exhaust systems. We installed a set of Bassani 2x2 Dual Head Pipes on Matt "Lurch" Couchman's 2015 Harley Road Glide Special. We installed Python True Dual Headpipes on Rick "Big Daddy" Kane's 2016 Harley Road Glide Special. Both these header systems get rid of your catalytic converter (cat), opening up the flow, increasing power & sound, & greatly reducing heat to the rider. Cats create a large amount of heat. Note: Always check your local, state, and federal law regarding motorcycle exhaust systems. Bassani: The Bassani pipes are nice because they are basically the exact same as the stock Harley head pipes minus the catalytic (cat) converter. This opens up the flow of exhaust, creates power & sound, and significantly cuts down on heat. They also re-use the stock chrome heat shields, which saves you money. These headers have both 18mm and 12mm O2 sensor ports. You can use your stock Harley o2 sensors with these headers. If you want to change your O2 sensors out and use wide-band O2 sensors then you can use the larger 18mm bungs. Plugs come with the headers for 12mm and 18mm, so you can plug one set off. Putting these headers on increased the sound of Lurch's bike, because of the cat now being gone. It also increased performance & cut out a ton of heat. Lurch was already running V&H Titan 450 OS slip-on mufflers. Remapping your motorcycle's Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) is necessary when you change the flow of exhaust or air intake on your Harley, such as we did in these exhaust installs. Make it easy and get a V&H Fuelpak 3 Electronic Fuel Injection Tuner from our store. We highly recommend this EFI tuner and we use it heavily here at Law Abiding Biker™ Media. Python: The Python true duals are just that, two separate pipes all the way from the heads to the rear. There is no chamber, so the back pressure is just not there. It's well known that true duals are not the number one choice for actual performance anyways. They look great and sound good though. These pipes only come with 12mm O2 bungs, which is great because you can use your stock Harley O2 sensors. You'd have to have 18mm bungs welded in if you wanted to use aftermarket wide-band O2 sensors. We didn't notice any significant increase or decrease in performance after install. However, we did notice a great improvement in sound and the reduction of heat from having no cats. We do have some back pressure because Big Daddy was already running Vance & Hines Eliminator 400 slip-on mufflers. Note: We want to thank our friends over at Revzilla for sending us both these exhaust systems for review. If you like this episode and find it useful, please consider purchasing any Bassani or Python systems or other products through our Revzilla Affiliate Link. Let them explode IDEAS for you to use! Then get ready to SEE multitudes in Heaven you have reached when you arrive home! NOTE: Listen to the podcast as there is much more material on the recording. Also, listen ALL the way thru as the material gets more advanced and detailed. And, especially listen to the part on comic books! ________________________ HOW TO USE THE MEDIA TO PROCLAIM THE GOOD NEWS CREATIVITY IN ADVERTISING SCRIPTURAL BACKGROUND: Isaiah 32:20; 42:8-9; 43:18-19; 55:11; Mark 13:10; 16:15; Luke 16:8; James 1:5; Zechariah 4:6. DEFINITION OF MEDIA: "A channel of communication; sometimes advertising." DEFINITION OF ADVERTISING: "To warn; to call attention to; to tell people about; or praise." SOME EXAMPLES OF MEDIA: * Social Networking & Media* Newspaper & Magazine Ads* Transit Ads* Radio & TV Spots (Ads) & Internet Advertising* Street Drama* Posters, Signs, & Stickers * Holography* Billboards* Robotry* DVD's, WebCams, & VideoCasts* Podcasts * Airplanes & Blimps* PowerPoint or Multi-Screen Projections * Clothing* Arts, Crafts, & Theatre* Internet / Websites* CD-ROM’s & DVD's* Comic Books* Flash Movies "Blessed (happy) are you that sow beside all waters…" (Isaiah 32:20)Sow the seed of God's Word in every way you can! INTRODUCTION: Let God multiply His work through you through the use of literature; social media like YouTube, Wikipedia, FaceBook; CD's; DVD's; webcams, videocasts, podcasts, websites; comics; games; drama; iPods; iPhones; mp3 devices; and any other form of media that can be used by the Holy Spirit. Remember, the media is to be used to "teach all nations;" it should reflect and magnify Christ – not man! Study the examples below. SOCIAL NETWORKING AND MEDIA Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Linkedin and others are all excellent ways to spread the Good News of Messiah Yeshua. There are basically six (6) types of Social Media: Social Networks (Facebook and Linkedin) Social News (Digg and Reddit) Blogs, Blog Comments & Forums (many types) Microblogging (Twitter) Media Sharing (YouTube and Flickr) Bookmarking Sites (Delicious and StumbleUpon)You can reach not only friends you know, or have known years ago, but people you interact with from nations and cultures around the world. You can even use language translators like IM Translator, Smartlink and others to communicate with people of other languages. Twitter is especially efficient in that you are limited to 140 characters and you can pack a lot if you link to a website in your message. You can link to sites you find helpful like UofE.org, PrinceHandley.com, The Healing Podcast or to specific pages on the sites: like Israel and the Middle East, healing, deliverance, etc. Prince Handley also uses Twitter for 24/7 continuous release of selected teachings and podcasts. By God's grace, Prince Handley posts over 100 teachings per day to over 100,000 followers. Check out: www.twitter.com/princehandley/ NEWSPAPER & MAGAZINE ADS DISPLAY ADS Larger ads (like store ads); may or may not use photos or illustrations. Get the attention of the reader. If you use artwork (photo or illustration), then make your picture fit your wording (copy). If you need help, the newspaper or magazine advertising department has people who will help you at no cost; or, pray and ask God to lead you to a Christian who is good in graphics or advertising. Use lots of white space in your ad; don’t crowd it. Make it easy to read. See example of "display ad below: (Copy) WIN A TRIP FOR THE FAMILY! (Photo) A family on the rail of a steamship, or boarding an airplane. (Text) "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, and your house." [Note: The scripture text is placed somewhere in the ad with the copy and the photo or artwork, but don’t "crowd" the ad.] CLASSIFIED ADS Small, inexpensive ads (no photos) used to advertise pets, employment, notices, houses for rent. The "Announcement" section is very good to use since it usually comes first. Example of classified ad below: (Copy) HERE’S YOUR CHANCE FOR A NEW START! The greatest Jew alive will be in [your city name] this week. You may call him ahead of time - He said to tell you, "Turn from your sins and ask me into your life. My name is Jesus Christ." NOTE: Use your imagination. If you have never been good in art, or if you have never been creative, do not let that stop you! Isaiah 42:8-9 and Isaiah 43:18-19 tell us that God can do a NEW work. Ask God for an anointing of creativity. Then ... START. Ask God for wisdom. [James 1:5] RADIO & TV SPOTS (ADS) & INTERNET ADVERTISING RADIO 60 second spots (1 minute). Run on non-Christian stations. Run at different times in the day to reach different audiences. For example: Early morning - people going to work Mid-Morning - people at home Noon-time - mixed audience Afternoon - school students Late afternoon - people going home from work in car or bus Evening - mixed audience SUGGESTIONS: Run a "cluster" of three spots in one 5 or 10 minute period. You can use a conversation between two people (but no more than two). You might want to use background music or sounds. TV Use 30 second spots. You don’t need as much time as you have the advantage of being able to SEE with SOUND. It is good to use people from different races and ethnic groups to show an example of Christ’s love and power! For example, a black person, a white person, a Jew, and an Arab. NOTE: Always use the CONTENT of the Word of God in every ad you make. Isaiah 55:11 tells us that God's Word will never return void ... it will prosper, and accomplish the purpose for which God sends it! INTERNET You can run ads on Google, Yahoo, and Email facilitators. Email them for specific rates and instructions. There are lots of good "How To Do It" books on the market covering with practical information (such as the "Idiot Guides," etc.). POSTERS, SIGNS, & STICKERS Can be many different sizes: 10 cm "mini-poster" to 1 meter "maxi-poster". Can be "peel-off" self-adhesive. Can be made in different languages. Can be "weather-proof"; use special weather-proof paper or coatings. (Can be used in rain, sun, or snow.) Can be used for indoor or outdoor. Can be large enough to be seen as people drive by. (Read Habakkuk 2:2) SUGGESTIONS: If used outdoor (one meter sign), make the name "JESUS" large enough to be seen 150 meters away, then the rest of the message smaller so it can be read when people are close. The same sign can be used for all the sizes; just enlarge or reduce the original. BILLBOARDS In some places, you can build your own billboards and put them up beside the road, highway, or freeway. In large cities, you may find large advertising companies who will give you free space for a period of time. The large size billboards which are rented usually are owned by advertising companies. SUGGESTION: Pray and ask God to lead you to someone who owns land by a roadside and who will let you put up a large sign free. You can reach thousands! DVD's, WEBCAMS, AND VIDEO CASTS It is easy ... and POWERFUL if done correctly ... to use social media like YouTube, Wikipedia, and FaceBook for video casts you produce. Go to these three media sources and view examples of what type of casts are being shown. Then, get your own ideas from the Holy Spirit. And ... don't forget to let people KNOW about your webcasts. Advertise! Promote! Get the word out! There are several inexpensive paperback books on the market to help you with this. Also, search online. You can make your own video presentations. WebCams are very inexpensive. Also, many of the newer laptop (notebook) computers have built in webcams. For creative content you will probably want to purchase a better unit, however. Go to different computer stores and ask them about the kind of equipment you will need. Many places will rent equipment. You might consider and pray about going to school (or taking an online computer course) in web production, cinematography, or other areas of video or webcam production. COUNT THE COST ... BELIEVE GOD’S PROMISES ... WORK FOR MESSIAH YESHUA (JESUS, THE ANOINTED ONE) Remember…God wants to reach people with His message more than you do! DVD and web cam recorders provide an excellent means of video presentation and most people have their own DVD players or SmartPhones; however at the present, in some areas of Third World countries, films are still the most easily seen by large crowds in the outdoors, and the least expensive. For work in larger third world cities, where the people have their own TV, DVD players, satellite receivers and computers (or can rent one), you may want to use DVD's, WebCams, or VodCasts (video casts) to evangelize or to teach. PODCASTS Podcasting is one of the most popular forms of media presentation with amazing growth and acceptance in countries all over the world. All you need is a computer and the know how. The know how can be learned from any of several books on the market. Do a search on the Internet, or at a library, for "podcasting." You can have a voice to the whole world for Christ. And ... if you are creative in the Spirit ... you will find an audience and friends in every corner of the globe! You need: 1. Content that is interesting; 2. Consistency in broadcasting (regular podcasts you produce); and 3. Uniqueness in presentation. POWER POINT OR MULTI-SCREEN PROJECTIONS You need the following equipment: WebCam ... or Video Camera … or Computer with software for presentations One DVD player, or computer, or High Definiton screen. (NOTE: If the viewing is to be outdoors, or for large audiences, then you will need advice on what type of screen to use. In some Third World areas, films or DVD's are still used more practically with electric generators.) By using three projectors you can show different pictures side-by-side, more action, and faster action. You can show someone finding Christ as their Savior, with a Scripture showing at the same time on the next screen, while a lot of color is "exploding" on the third screen: all of this while music is mixed with a recorded Gospel message. TRANSIT ADS Used on buses and taxis; and at airline terminals and subways. May be used inside or outside on buses. If used outside on buses, the ad is "eye-level" with the reader as the bus drives by them. The ad can be on the back, on the side, or on the front of the bus. If used inside the bus ("car-cards"), you can have "tear-off" mail cards attached so the reader can mail to you for literature. SUGGESTION: Transit ads can be directed to specific ethnic groups, by using proper pictures, artwork, or illustrations and the right messages, not only at airports, but on buses which travel to certain ethnic areas and cities. DRAMA: OUTDOORS OR INDOORS No expense involved. You don’t even need good clothes. Get a few people to paint their face, go to a busy place where there are lots of people, and put on your act… preach the Gospel with drama - outdoors or indoors - with voices (talking) or pantomime (silently, but with gestures). Great for marketplaces, malls, and wherever people gather. HOLOGRAPHY A new way to project a three-dimensional ("3D") image into a space without a screen. You may want to research this online or at a university library. SUGGESTION: It would be powerful to see an image of Elijah or an angel preaching to people! ROBOTRY Similar to holography only robots are used instead of projected images. In the last days, the Holy Bible tells us the anti-Christ (false-Messiah) and his false prophet will use an image [possibly a robot or holography]. Why shouldn't God's People, with the Spirit of God, use them to preach the Good News? AIRPLANES & BLIMPS Airplanes can pull a short Gospel message behind them. They can be rented. There are also planes which can cut out letters in smoke to make messages. Airplanes may be used to drop Gospel literature in certain areas. Blimps, airships, and dirigibles can also pull Gospel messages. And, lighted messages can be seen from computerized message centers placed underneath; in this way, long messages may be shown at night to millions in large cities. INTERNET / WEBSITES Using the Internet (by computer) you can reach people all over the world. You can reach kings, queens, national leaders, politicians, wealthy people, religious leaders, criminal and gang leaders … people from every religious, political, and social strata … in their own home! Ask God to lead you to someone who knows computers and can help you setup the site the way YOU want it. There are also several good text-editing programs on the market now which make it much easier to develop web-sites without a thorough knowledge of HTML or XML or RSS. Inquire at a computer software store, or search on-line. People can E-mail you instantly from all over the world asking for prayer, information, or counsel … or for contacts to other Christians. You can establish "links" on your site in cooperation with other Christian ministries so the person viewing your site can interact and contact another ministry directly from your site. WARNING: If you are going to have "links" on your site, make sure they are NOT to a person or ministry who would destroy the FAITH of the people to whom you are ministering. For example, if you’re teaching someone about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, or about the Healing Power of Christ, you wouldn’t want them to link to someone who has lack of knowledge in the Word of God and would tell them a lie "that God doesn’t heal" … or that miracles don’t happen today! SUGGESTION: Take advantage of E-mail if you are using the Internet. Not only for instant communication, but also to evangelize and teach! You can get E-mail lists (just like phone lists) and broadcast the Gospel to people right INSIDE their own houses and businesses. Pray and believe God to give you a computer! Study and do diligent research so that you may be a good steward of what God has given you: your brain and time! Then let the Holy Ghost anoint you!! CD-ROM’S & DVD'S CD-ROM’s and DVD's are an excellent medium to teach and preach Christ: thru music, sound, and video. Be as creative as you want! Produce actual testimonies or reenactments of true-life situations where God has done miracles in people’s lives … produce Bible-stories. Let people see Jesus as a REAL man (God in human flesh) in real life situations. DVD's can be used on computers, players, the internet. Ask God to lead you … then study, read, and learn all you can! Do your part … and the Holy Spirit will do His!!! COMIC BOOKS This is perhaps the most unused and at the same time … the MOST POWERFUL … medium available. Young people and old people alike like comic books in every country of the world! If you live in a big city, go to the annual comic book convention; you’ll see what a BIG market it is. Also, you’ll see how many cultists and demonized people are using this medium. Christians have MISSED THE BOAT! You can even do comic books in "Wordless" form where people can SEE the message through the art with NO words. Apostle Handley has published wordless books for years for children [and adults] with NO ART at all … just using colors to explain sin, the blood of Christ, Heaven, Hell, God, and the Holy Spirit. How much more effective can you be WITH ART! Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to someone who is gifted in art. Go to a printer and find out how to prepare the manuscripts for printing and binding. SUGGESTION: Make a COMIC BOOK with each of the following. How To Be WholeHow To Be HealedHow To Receive God's PowerHow To Prosper You could have ONE 28 or 32 page comic, with 7 or 8 pages covering each of the 4 booklets above. In other words, EACH of the four booklets above would be one section in the comic. There would be four sections inside the comic. Do them in English or whatever language you want at first with the artwork describing each of the phrases. You will have two (2) main printed areas on each artwork (caption) as follows: Section 1: How To Be Whole [8 pages / with 4 pictures on each page] Example: Title for the first picture - "God created the universe … because He had a plan." Dialogue for the first picture - "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) Suggestion: Decide what characters will be in the comic sections: God, man, Jesus, devil, etc. Then write out the dialogue and title for each picture (artwork) section. Finally, have someone DRAW the art to depict the title and dialogue (action). Note: You can show Jesus casting out demons, healing the sick in the section How To Be Healed. You can show people being baptized in the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues in the section How To Receive God’s Power. TESTIMONY: Twenty-two (22) people were baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues just from reading one of the printed copies of "How To Receive God’s Power" ... reading the SAME piece of paper! SUGGESTION: You might even be blessed to produce a "wordless" comic book that could be understood by people anywhere in the world. People could be saved, healed, filled with Spirit, and learn how to prosper! Think what effect that would have on world missions, raising up churches, and helping to usher in the return of Jesus Christ to the earth to set up His Kingdom! You will have MANY rewards! God will BLESS you abundantly!!! He said to his friend, "If the British march By land or sea from the town to-night, Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry-arch Of the North-Church-tower, as a signal-light-- One if by land, and two if by sea; And I on the opposite shore will be, Ready to ride and spread the alarm Through every Middlesex village and farm, For the country-folk to be up and to arm." Then he said "Good night!" and with muffled oar Silently rowed to the Charlestown shore, Just as the moon rose over the bay, Where swinging wide at her moorings lay The Somerset, British man-of-war: A phantom ship, with each mast and spar Across the moon, like a prison-bar, And a huge black hulk, that was magnified By its own reflection in the tide. Meanwhile, his friend, through alley and street Wanders and watches with eager ears, Till in the silence around him he hears The muster of men at the barrack door, The sound of arms, and the tramp of feet, And the measured tread of the grenadiers Marching down to their boats on the shore. Then he climbed to the tower of the church, Up the wooden stairs, with stealthy tread, To the belfry-chamber overhead, And startled the pigeons from their perch On the sombre rafters, that round him made Masses and moving shapes of shade-- By the trembling ladder, steep and tall, To the highest window in the wall, Where he paused to listen and look down A moment on the roofs of the town, And the moonlight flowing over all. Beneath, in the churchyard, lay the dead, In their night-encampment on the hill, Wrapped in silence so deep and still That he could hear, like a sentinel's tread, The watchful night-wind, as it went Creeping along from tent to tent, And seeming to whisper, "All is well!" A moment only he feels the spell Of the place and the hour, and the secret dread Of the lonely belfry and the dead; For suddenly all his thoughts are bent On a shadowy something far away, Where the river widens to meet the bay-- A line of black, that bends and floats On the rising tide, like a bridge of boats. Meanwhile, impatient to mount and ride, Booted and spurred, with a heavy stride, On the opposite shore walked Paul Revere. Now he patted his horse's side, Now gazed on the landscape far and near, Then, impetuous, stamped the earth, And turned and tightened his saddle-girth; But mostly he watched with eager search The belfry-tower of the old North Church, As it rose above the graves on the hill, Lonely and spectral and sombre and still. And lo! as he looks, on the belfry's height, A glimmer, and then a gleam of light! He springs to the saddle, the bridle he turns, But lingers and gazes, till full on his sight A second lamp in the belfry burns! A hurry of hoofs in a village-street, A shape in the moonlight, a bulk in the dark, And beneath from the pebbles, in passing, a spark Struck out by a steed that flies fearless and fleet: That was all! And yet, through the gloom and the light, The fate of a nation was riding that night; And the spark struck out by that steed, in his flight, Kindled the land into flame with its heat. He has left the village and mounted the steep, And beneath him, tranquil and broad and deep, Is the Mystic, meeting the ocean tides; And under the alders, that skirt its edge, Now soft on the sand, now load on the ledge, Is heard the tramp of his steed as he rides. It was twelve by the village clock When he crossed the bridge into Medford town. He heard the crowing of the cock, And the barking of the farmer's dog, And felt the damp of the river-fog, That rises when the sun goes down. It was one by the village clock, When he galloped into Lexington. He saw the gilded weathercock Swim in the moonlight as he passed, And the meeting-house windows, blank and bare, Gaze at him with a spectral glare, As if they already stood aghast At the bloody work they would look upon. It was two by the village clock, When he came to the bridge in Concord town. He heard the bleating of the flock, And the twitter of birds among the trees, And felt the breath of the morning breeze Blowing over the meadows brown. And one was safe and asleep in his bed Who at the bridge would be first to fall, Who that day would be lying dead, Pierced by a British musket-ball. You know the rest. In the books you have read, How the British Regulars fired and fled-- How the farmers gave them ball for ball, From behind each fence and farmyard-wall, Chasing the red-coats down the lane, Then crossing the fields to emerge again Under the trees at the turn of the road, And only pausing to fire and load. So through the night rode Paul Revere; And so through the night went his cry of alarm To every Middlesex village and farm-- A cry of defiance, and not of fear, A voice in the darkness, a knock at the door, And a word that shall echo forevermore! For, borne on the night-wind of the Past, Through all our history, to the last, In the hour of darkness and peril and need, The people will waken and listen to hear The hurrying hoof-beats of that steed, And the midnight message of Paul Revere.
