Get paid to build your email list.When we go and acquire something, when we consume something, we're expected to pay, right?But here in the internet marketing space, a lot of people get tripped up on what's sold on to them and that's build a list, build a list, build a list, nurture, nurture, nurture, because that builds the vanity metric.That's something that's measurable for a lot of influencers out there to get you to do. And I'm going to tell you at the end of the day, most of your clientele most likely is not in this internet marketing bubble, they're not conditioned this way.You have the opportunity to get paid as you build your email list. After all, this is what happens in the real world.You get contact information from people that are buyers, not people that are freebie seekers.So whenever you're doing your opt ins, whenever you're doing those initial offers, you could have different types of offers that you do that will allow the person to pull their wallet out in advance, sooner in the relationship versus way later in the relationship.Now, what that will allow you to do is then you're going to be able to pre finance your list building because as you spend money to get new eyeballs on your offers, on your things, you are then able to sell a different type of offer, typically a smaller promise, a smaller offer initially compared to your big offer, your big course, coaching, program, membership that you have the different offers that we all have in the backarsenal.And while that happens you will actually, as your email list grows, the money will be coming back in, the money will be coming back in, you'll be able to reinvest it. It's like having an ATM machine versus a slot machine when it comes to doing your ads.I want you to keep in mind that you can look at your funnel differently.You can look at your marketing strategy completely differently, if you change your mindset and start thinking more and ask yourself the question, “how can I get paid sooner? So how do you go about this?Find a podcast show with an audience that benefits you.Don't approach a host saying you can speak about anything and everything. Instead, pick topics that relate to your business and prepare a couple of interesting hooks that get people's attention.When you speak on someone's podcast, have a strong call to action. Prepare a lead magnet that listeners can download in exchange for their email address (because that's how you grow your list!)Be a great guest even if the host isn't an experienced interviewer and veers off-topic. If the conversation goes off-track, bring it back to your business and what you do.How to pick the right podcast shows for youSo how do you go about identifying which podcasts you should be on? First, you don't necessarily have to target the big names! The most important thing is to pick a podcast whose audience is made of your type of people. Podcast shows with a big reach are great, but often smaller or mid-level shows have more engaged audiences of people who are super fans. Decide which shows you want to be on based on the audience - not the host or the podcast size. Also, consider whether the listeners of that podcast are only there for entertainment or whether they're used to buying. You'll want people who take action.When pitching, make it easy for the host to say yes to you. Give them a few options for topics that are relevant to what they do – talk about something useful and unique to their audience. Prepare a few interesting topics with super hot hooks and pitch them to the host, asking what would be most suitable. Remember you can use your existing content (with different hooks) - you don't have to create something new every time.A great advantage of doing this is testing out what topics resonate with your audience. Something I overlooked for a long time was using my podcast to build my email list. I was so focused on everything else — getting it launched, finding guests, and you know, getting people to actually listen — that I completely ignored building my mailing list.But your email list is the best way to capture your audience — the only direct line you have to them, since podcast subscriptions are a scattered mess, and a black box.Through your email list, you can share episodes, better engage with your audience, and grow your business. People might skip episodes, but they'll still see your name in their inbox.So how do you grow you list?1) Have a landing page with a subscribe box. I recommend ConvertKit. Ellie's currently on a mission to grow her email list, so we thought we'd talk about list building today: what it is, why it's a good idea, and how you can do it. (We can't believe we've never done an episode just on this before?!)
Get paid to build your email list. When we go and acquire something, when we consume something, we're expected to pay, right? But here in the internet marketing space, a lot of people get tripped up on what's sold on to them and that's build a list, build a list, build a list, nurture, nurture, nurture, because that builds the vanity metric. That's something that's measurable for a lot of influencers out there to get you to do. And I'm going to tell you at the end of the day, most of your clientele most likely is not in this internet marketing bubble, they're not conditioned this way. You have the opportunity to get paid as you build your email list. After all, this is what happens in the real world. You get contact information from people that are buyers, not people that are freebie seekers. So whenever you're doing your opt ins, whenever you're doing those initial offers, you could have different types of offers that you do that will allow the person to pull their wallet out in advance, sooner in the relationship versus way later in the relationship. Now, what that will allow you to do is then you're going to be able to pre finance your list building because as you spend money to get new eyeballs on your offers, on your things, you are then able to sell a different type of offer, typically a smaller promise, a smaller offer initially compared to your big offer, your big course, coaching, program, membership that you have the different offers that we all have in the backarsenal. And while that happens you will actually, as your email list grows, the money will be coming back in, the money will be coming back in, you'll be able to reinvest it. It's like having an ATM machine versus a slot machine when it comes to doing your ads. I want you to keep in mind that you can look at your funnel differently. You can look at your marketing strategy completely differently, if you change your mindset and start thinking more and ask yourself the question, “how can I get paid sooner? How can I get paid to build my email list?”

Get paid to build your email list. When we go and acquire something, when we consume something, we're expected to pay, right? But here in the internet marketing space, a lot of people get tripped up on what's sold on to them and that's build a list, build a list, build a list, nurture, nurture, nurture, because that builds the vanity metric. That's something that is something that's measurable for a lot of influencers out there to get you to do. And I'm going to tell you at the end of the day, most of your clientele most likely is not in this internet marketing bubble, they're not conditioned this way. You have the opportunity to get paid as you build your email list. After all, this is what happens in the real world. You get contact information from people that are buyers, not people that are freebie seekers. So whenever you're doing your opt ins, whenever you're doing those initial offers, you could have different types of offers that you do that will allow the person to pull their wallet out in advance, sooner in the relationship versus way later in the relationship. Now, what that will allow you to do is then you're going to be able to pre finance your list building because as you spend money to get new eyeballs on your offers, on your things, you are then able to sell a different type of offer, typically a smaller promise, a smaller offer initially compared to your big offer, your big course, coaching, program, membership that you have the different offers that we all have in the backarsenal. And while that happens you will actually, as your email list grows, the money will be coming back in, the money will be coming back in, you'll be able to reinvest it. It's like having an ATM machine versus a slot machine when it comes to doing your ads. I want you to keep in mind that you can look at your funnel differently. You can look at your marketing strategy completely differently, if you change your mindset and start thinking more and ask yourself the question, “how can I get paid sooner? How can I get paid to build my email list?”
