Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Our main content for this podcast and our YouTube Channel is street motorcycles; more specifically American V-Twin. But, we do love all motorcycles. Many of us have adventure motorcycles and dirt bikes. Rick recently purchased a Husqvarna Norder 901. We get into a fun debate about which is a better adventure motorcycle; the Kawasaki KLR650 or a Norden 901. The truth is it is difficult to find the perfect adventure motorcycle. They tend to lean either toward dirt or street, without being great at either. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE Brian, you may know him as Goat, just bought a Norden 901 Expedition. Goat is later in his life and getting back into off-rod riding. He road dirt as a young man, but life got in the way. There seems to be a trend of guys getting into adventure and dirt riding later in life. Our guess is that guys like Goat are at a place in life where they can afford to have an extra bike and the time to ride it. Law Abiding Biker, my full-time law enforcement job, and other obligations limit my time to ride dirt. After riding single-track at the Touratech Rally I was hooked and decided to pull the trigger. The 2024 Husqvarna 300 TE is technically an enduro bike. Two-stroke motorcycles have come a long way since I was a kid. The two strokes of today have a much better power band. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com In this episode, we talk about all things tires. We cover how old your motorcycle tires can be and still be safe, what tires are the best, and the best way to balance them. This episode was presented live on YouTube to our Patreon members. You can be a Patron of Law Abiding Biker and get our content much sooner than the public. If you need new tires, please check out our store. You can contact us if you don't see your desired tire size. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE Tires age due to a combination of factors, including exposure to environmental conditions, the materials they are made from, and how they are used. Here are some key points on how tires age: Oxidation: Over time, exposure to oxygen and ozone in the air causes the rubber compounds in tires to degrade. This process, known as oxidation, makes the rubber harder and less flexible, leading to cracks and a decrease in performance. UV Exposure: Ultraviolet (UV) rays from sunlight can break down the chemical bonds in tire rubber, causing the tires to become brittle and crack. This is especially problematic for tires that are not regularly used and are stored outside. Heat: Exposure to high temperatures accelerates the aging process of tires. Heat causes the rubber to lose elasticity and strength more quickly. Tires used in hot climates or on vehicles that generate a lot of heat (e.g., heavy trucks) age faster. Physical Wear: Regular use leads to physical wear and tear, which contributes to the aging process. The tread wears down, and the internal structure can become compromised due to impacts, punctures, and general use. Storage Conditions: How tires are stored significantly affects their aging. Tires stored in cool, dry, and dark conditions age more slowly compared to those exposed to heat, moisture, and light. Chemical Exposure: Exposure to certain chemicals, oils, and solvents can accelerate the aging process of tires by breaking down the rubber compounds. Maintenance: Proper tire maintenance, including regular inflation, alignment, and rotation, can help slow the aging process. Neglecting these aspects can lead to uneven wear and faster deterioration. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! Signs of Aging Tires Cracking: Visible cracks on the sidewalls or between the treads are a common sign of aging. Hardening: The rubber becomes harder and less flexible, reducing the tire's grip on the road. Deformation: Bulges or deformities in the tire structure can indicate internal damage and aging. Tread Wear: Worn-down treads reduce traction and can be a sign of an aged tire. Recommendations Regular Inspections: Have your tires inspected regularly by a professional, especially if they are over five years old. Replacement: Tires should generally be replaced every six to ten years, regardless of their appearance, to ensure safety and performance. Proper Storage: If storing tires for an extended period, keep them in a cool, dry, and dark place to slow the aging process. Understanding how tires age can help you maintain them better and ensure your safety on the road. NEW FREE VIDEO RELEASED: Your Stock Harley Shift Linkage Will Fail At Some Point-Fix It! Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com In this episode, I'm joined by Lurch and we talk about being impartial when reviewing motorcycles; in particular Harley-Davidson motorcycles. This topic was spurred by a voicemail message left by long-time listener Steve Kastell. Steve expressed concern about the impartiality of my Harley-Davidson motorcycle reviews. His concern stemmed from the fact that the majority of the motorcycle ride and review events I attend are hosted by Harley-Davidson. The topic then flows into the announcement that our YouTube Channel just went past 200,000 subscribers. I talk about the journey to get to 200k subscribers; the good and the bad. You can leave us a voicemail HERE if you have comments or questions that might turn into a show topic. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE We've been at the YouTube Channel and Podcast game for over 11 years now. For the first eight of those years, we reviewed bikes that we could get our hands on. Many of those bikes belonged to friends and family. We were able to occasionally wrangle on out of our local Harley-Davidson dealer. Unfortunately, we generally only got to take those bikes out for a few hours. Here at Law Abiding Biker, we worked hard to get the attention of Harley and most recently Indian Motorcycles. Hopefully, as we continue to grow our reach we'll get access to new brands. We do our best to be honest and impartial when reviewing bikes. I don't just gush over the new bike like some other YouTube Channels. We will pick out things that can be improved on even if they are "knit-picky". The truth is, I've been hard on Harley in the past and still point out when they can do better. We appreciate Steve leaving the voicemail and expressing his concern. Heck, it provided good content for the podcast. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com In this episode, I'm joined by Lurch and we give an update on the Law Abiding Biker Store We moved the Law Abiding Biker Store from Richland, WA to Union Gap, WA in June of 2023. Rick "Big Daddy Kane" and Brian "Goat" White ran the store successfully out of Richland for years. We can't thank them enough for their awesome work. The plan was always to bring the Law Abiding Biker store up to the Yakima, WA area. That plan came to fruition this year. We were fortunate enough to purchase a building in Union Gap, WA that is right on Main Street. It's a great location for several reasons; it's centrally located between my house and Lurch's house, it has quick freeway access, and it's near shipping companies. The address for the Law Abiding Biker Store is 3302 Main Street, Union Gap, WA 98903. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com In this episode, Lurch and I discuss our plans to expand Law Abiding Biker in 2023. I started Law Abiding Biker in the Spring of 2013. It began as a podcast followed by a YouTube Channel. After a couple of years, I realized I would need to monetize Law Abiding Biker if I wanted to keep it going. So, in 2015 I started a modest online store and our first product was our beloved Biker Gripper. The Biker Gripper remains one of our best sellers to date. The "store" was in my garage and my family helped me pack and ship. It didn't take too long for us to figure out this was overwhelming for my family. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE About the time we figured out it was too much for us, Rick "Big Daddy" Kane came to me with a proposal to become the store manager and add more products to the store. The "store" was moved to Big Daddy's garage. He brought on many products and the store began to flourish. Unfortunately, in 2017 Big Daddy's garage and house caught on fire and the store was a total loss. Thank God Big Daddy was able to get out of the house and he was unharmed. We started over from the ground up and moved into a storage unit. In 2019, we found a commercial space in Richland, WA. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! The idea has always been to move the store to the Yakima area when Big Daddy retired from his Law Enforcement job. He let us know last fall that he was retiring in 2023. So, Lurch and I started looking for a store. We had quite the adventure of finding something that would suit us. In January of 2023, we found a building in Union Gap, WA, and purchased it. The building is located between Lurch and me, and it is accessed easily from the Interstate. The plan is to move the store to our new location in July 2023! NEW FREE VIDEO RELEASED: A Must-Check Harley Milwaukee-Eight Oil Leak Issue! FOR YOUR SAFETY! Sponsor-Ciro 3D CLICK HERE! Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Do you have engine oil in your Harley air filter? Is it a problem or is it normal? In this episode, I am joined by Lurch and Oscar. Harley-Davidson vents engine pressure through banjo bolts that hold the air intake on. There are tubes on the end of the banjo bolts. The tubes are directed into the intake/filter area. When pressure builds up and oil passes through the bolts/tubes it dumps into the filter and/or is sucked into the engine through the intake. If an excess of oil builds up in your Harley air filter it can leak out and get all over your bike. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE We discuss how oil ends up in your Harley air filter. The three of us share our opinions and have some fun along the way. We break down the issue of oil blowback; what it is and what causes it. We also discuss stock air intakes and aftermarket intakes. Some of the aftermarket intakes already have external breather bolts and catch cans. Some have external breather bolts, but route tubes back into the intake. The stock air intakes have internal breather bolts with tubes that vent into the filter/intake. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Has your Harley warranty been voided? Are the tuning days over? Harley-Davidson (HD) entered into an agreement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on June 23, 2022. This relates to all Harley warranties and if you're a Harley owner this is absolutely must-know information. Introduction: As part of this agreement, HD agreed to the findings that it had violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act when it forced warranty-holders to buy only Harley-Davidson branded parts or lose warranty coverage. Let's start by discussing what the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is. The Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act basically prohibits manufacturers from requiring consumers to use only original equipment parts or services to keep their warranty. This means you can service your own motorcycle and use aftermarket parts without automatically voiding your warranty. Now, we've preached this for years, which is why we produce our very popular premium Harley tutorial videos such as Harley oil change and service videos, handlebar installs, stereo installs, and much more! A Deeper Dive: Let's dive into the meat and potatoes of the FTC settlement agreement. And at the end of this article, I'll break this down into good' ol' biker language and what it actually means for you as a Harley owner. The FTC filed an administrative complaint against HD for illegally restricting customers' right to repair their Harley's. The FTC's complaint said warranties on HD bikes included terms that made buyers believe their warranty would be voided if they used independent dealers for parts or repairs. So, the FTC ordered HD to fix warranties by removing illegal terms and recognizing the right to repair, come clean with customers, and ensure that dealers compete fairly with independent third parties. While the FTC took action against Harley-Davidson, the organization does not have the authority to recover consumers' damages. A federal lawsuit filed against HD in Wisconsin's Eastern District Court last week seeks to recover any damages consumers who bought a Harley motorcycle from Aug. 1, 2018, up until now may have faced. A second lawsuit was filed in California's Northern District Court. The lawsuits claim owners paid more for genuine HD parts, as compared to aftermarket parts, in fear of their warranties being voided. Requirements Of The Agreement: HD shall not imply or state that: A warranty will or may be void due to you using unauthorized or aftermarket parts or services in connection with your motorcycle. A warranty will or may be void due to you making a modification to your motorcycle without the HD's authorization or approval. As a condition of warranty coverage, or within the Written Warranty, you must use only genuine Harley-Davidson parts or services provided by authorized service providers. However, HD may represent, both in its warranty documents or otherwise, that it will: Exclude warranty coverage for defects or damage caused by unauthorized parts, service, or use of the vehicle, including defects or damage caused by the use of aftermarket parts. Or, use of the vehicle for racing or competition, and denial of coverage may be based on the installation of parts designed for unauthorized uses of the vehicle, such as a trailer hitch. And, consistent with Harley-Davidson's July 2017 Consent Decree with the EPA, exclude warranty coverage and deny all warranty claims for functional defects of powertrain components. And, for any Harley-Davidson motorcycle registered in the United States if the vehicle was tuned using a tuning product not covered by a California Air and Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order or that was otherwise approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). HD must identify all consumers who purchased new or used motorcycles still under warranty and notify them of the FTC agreement and its terms. Further, HD must provide consumers with a complete copy of the warranty at the time of purchase. What Does All This Mean For A Motorcycle Owner? First, I want to let you know that we did a very popular and highly viewed video about Harley Davidson Warranties and issues some time ago and you'll definitely want to watch that video after this one to be well educated and understand the issues in their entirety. So, I mentioned earlier in this article that your warranty cannot be voided if you have your bike serviced at a third-party shop or simply decide to do your own oil changes and services in your own garage, which I highly recommend. You can save yourself a ton of money and have the pure satisfaction of wrenching on your own bike. The next question is; Can a motorcycle manufacturer void your warranty for installing non-OEM aftermarket parts on your motorcycle, such as headers, mufflers, intakes, handlebars, stereos, cams, and even EFI tuner? They can deny any warranty claim if they determine the aftermarket parts you added to your bike caused the damage. Let's start with mufflers as a general example. Let's say you put aftermarket mufflers on your Harley and the transmission goes bad suddenly. I think it'd be fair to say that mufflers did not cause a transmission failure, so you “should” be covered under a warranty. Or, you do an aftermarket stereo install and your engine then has a major failure. I think it'd be fair to say that a stereo install has nothing to do with the engine failure and thus you should be covered under a warranty. Now, let's say you do a cam upgrade and afterward the engine has a catastrophic failure to a push rod. I think it'd be fair to say that the new cam upgrade caused the engine failure and you'd not be covered under a warranty. The real question then is, does simply doing a non-motor upgrade like stereo install or handlebars for example, automatically void your powertrain warranty or overall warranty? No, those upgrades do not affect the powertrain, thus you should not have your warranty voided. The next question is, does simply doing a powertrain upgrade such as a cam upgrade for example, automatically void your powertrain warranty? No, not by itself, however, you must remap your EFI after an upgrade like that and if you were to use a non-EPA compliant tuner, your powertrain warranty will be automatically voided by Harley-Davidson. You see, when Harley dealerships plug your bike into Digital Technician II for diagnostics it auto-detects whether the bike has a tuner, and then it will be determined whether it is EPA compliant. Digital Technician II automatically sends the detected tuner information to the Harley-Davidson mothership so to speak and your power train warranty is voided immediately if it's not compliant. Now, in regards to Harley-Davidson and other motorcycle and auto manufacturers for that matter, the EFI tuner issue is because of pressure and fines from the EPA, who is making them void warranties if non-compliant tuners are utilized. In 2017, Harley entered a consent decree, filed by the United States EPA, that required them to cease the sale of all non-compliant EFI tuners. And, void warranties on those Harley's with non-compliant EFI tuners. And yes, Harley is voiding warranties for non-compliant EFI tuners as are other motorcycle companies and auto manufacturers. What Is An EPA-Compliant EFI Tuner? Well, that's not so clear, but we did some research and digging for you. Currently, we can find no credible list of “EPA compliant tuners”. I will mention that of course, Harley-Davidson has a Screamin' Eagle EPA-compliant EFI tuner that will not void your warranty. But, it doesn't do much and we'll talk about that in a moment. So, this begs the overall question, is something like the Vance & Hines FuelPak EFI tuner EPA compliant, and will it void your Harley warranty? Well, we spoke directly to two Vance & Hines technicians today, and here's what we learned. The FuelPak 3 (FP3) is not EPA compliant technically, because it allows you to tune non-EPA compliant engine upgrades such as cams and big bore kits. The FP3 will void your motorcycle warranty. But, Vance & Hines says the FP4 is EPA compliant and will not void your warranty. However, it will only allow you to tune up to a stage one upgrade, which means pipes and intake. It will not allow tuning for cams and big bore kits now or in the future. Act Quickly If You Want A FuelPak 3: We do sell the Vance and Hines FP3 and FP4 in the Law Abiding Biker store. With that said, you need to act very quickly if you want to get your hands on a Vance & Hines Fuelpak 3 for your 2014-2020 Harley before they're gone forever. Many of the large stores are already out of them. For all of you who own 2021 to current Harley's, you can only use the FP4 as it has a different style plug. We have stocked up with FP3's right in the Law Abiding Biker Store for you and they are moving very quickly. It's first come first serve and when they're gone they're gone forever. If you have a 2014-2020 Harley and have ever thought about doing a future cam upgrade or big bore kit you'll need the FP3. In fact, we just did a cam upgrade on a Milwaukee eight and used the FP3 to tune it, and afterward, the bike ran like a raped ape. The FP3 is a very capable tuner with many options and we've used them for years. We will be releasing a full detailed cam install tutorial video on our YouTube Channel, so make sure you're subscribed so you are notified as we release videos. Also, the FP3 allows you to tune your bike right from your smartphone, unlike some other tuners. It is super intuitive and we already have a tutorial video on that. Maybe you just want to do a simple stage 1 upgrade with pipes and intake right now, well you can with the FP3 while also future-proofing yourself in case you want to do more. And of course, if you want an FP4 we have those too in the store and they are plentiful. Also, if you're a California resident, you'll have to get the FP4 regardless. Customers in California can't buy the FP3 and dealers can't sell it to California residents. If you appreciate this video and all the content we put out to help the biker community, please consider purchasing right from the Law Abiding Biker Store, so we can continue to put out great content like this. Now for argument's sake & for a better understanding of how all this works, I'll dive in a bit further. A Further Breakdown: Let's say you do an aftermarket muffler upgrade and have not installed an EFI tuner and your engine then has a failure. And, you take it to a Harley dealership, who decides to say that the mufflers caused it. Well, although the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act is behind you it may or may not help you. You see, in a situation like this, the burden of proof is completely on you as the consumer. You'd have to decide whether the cost is worth it. Because you're the one that will have to find and hire an Attorney that may be willing to file a lawsuit. Now, over the past years, we have had communications with Harley owners and particular dealerships conducting business like this in similar circumstances. I would say our local dealership and the vast majority were not doing this and following the rules. With that said, the FTC agreement included contact info to file a complaint with HD Headquarters and the FTC. You may find a resolution at this first step. Federal Trade Commission Website Harley-Davidson Customer Support Page 1-800-258-2464 What Are Aftermarket Parts Manufacturers & Third-Party Shops Saying: A statement from Vance and Hines CEO Mike Kennedy in an article said, "This action taken by the FTC is a huge win for motorcycle riders. While we still need to see how this plays out, we anticipate that riders will have more choices in how they repair and update their motorcycles during the warranty period, which is clearly a big deal for companies in the motorcycle aftermarket, too. I hope that the ‘it will void your warranty threat for someone who just wants a better sounding or smoother running Harley is a thing of the past." What Am I Going To Do? I will simply buy the motorcycle without any extended warranty and ride it hard for a bit on the manufacturer's warranty until I'm comfortable that the bike is going to hold up. Then, I'll immediately put any damn parts and tuners I want on it and ride it like I stole it. You decide what you're going to do and let me know in the comments, Harley-Davidson reps do read them and so do we. And what does this mean for the overall future of power train upgrades for motorcycle consumers? Well, you'll have to tune into the Law Abiding Biker podcast for our thoughts on that. Earlier in the day, we replaced Fuente's fuel pump on his 2016 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special. Fuente began hearing a whining noise after turning on his ignition when then the fuel pump was priming the system. This is a tell-tell sign that your fuel pump is beginning to have issues. The kit that Fuente ordered also includes a new fuel filter. Harley recommends the fuel filter be replaced every 100,000 miles. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Big Daddy Kane, Lurch, and I have a great time in this podcast episode talking about the Law Abiding Biker Store. We have built the store from the ground up over many years now. It is much hard work running the store but knowing that we're serving the biker community makes it all worth it. We really appreciate the support of the motorcycle community over the years and it's the main reason we've been able to grow and continue to grow. Shopping in our store really assists us in our mission to help, educate, entertain, and inspire as many bikers as we can worldwide. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE We like to do more than just sell you great motorcycle products. We want you to know that you're buying from bikers that live, eat, and breathe motorcycles. We test so many of the products in our store in a real-world biker environment. The guys in our store will actually take care of you unlike buying from one of the large online motorcycle store conglomerates who just want to sell you something. The Law Abiding Biker Store is run by bikers for bikers. As the Law Abiding Biker Store has grown over the years we've been able to move into larger facilities several times and we're now getting close to outgrowing our current facility. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com In late June 2020 history was made. Patron member Brad Johnston from Redmond, Oregon organized and hosted the first-ever Law Abiding Biker Patron Member Organized Meetup & Ride on the west coast! Every year, Law Abiding Biker™ Media organizes its own member meet up and ride but this particular ride was organized by a member for members, which is just awesome! I was fortunate enough to have attended the ride and event Brad hosted. We jokingly call these member hosted events "unsanctioned" but it's all in good fun and I totally support them. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE When I started Law Abiding Biker™ Media about 7 1/2 years ago I never knew the community would grow to this sort of thing. It's one of the largest biker communities around and better than any of those spam-filled motorcycle forums! Get signed up as a Patron Member and get benefits! Join the community and get involved! Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com I'm excited to announce that on March 11, 2020, at 6:15 pm (PST) the Law Abiding Biker YouTube Channel hit 100k subscribers! I knew it was getting close, so I pulled up a website that counts YouTube channel, real-time subscribers. But the catch is that the counter only turns at intervals of 100. That means the channel hit 99,900 and I had no idea when it'd actually turn 100k. I was recording a quick video with my computer screen in the background hoping I could capture it and I did! At the very moment it turned 100k, I was recording. I posted a quick video of that and my excitement and posted it on our Facebook Page and Twitter at the time. I will follow up with a proper YouTube video when I receive our 100k subscriber award from YouTube. Just days after, on March 16, 2013, we celebrated our 7 year Law Abiding Biker Podcast anniversary. Yup, our 1st podcast episode we ever released was on March 16, 2013, and we've been going strong ever since. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE I feel this is a big achievement because I have watched so many podcasts and YouTube channels come and go over the years. That's because it takes a ton of hard work and dedication to keep going year after year. It's a true grind and you have to remain passionate to keep creating content long term. There are no guides for this sort of thing and you learn as you go. You have to be willing to change things and try new things. Most of all, you must have a passion for what your true missions is. For us here at Law Abiding Biker Media it's easy. We want to help as many bikers as we can worldwide using media to educate, entertain, and build a trusted online biker community. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com In this episode, I had a chance to speak with Patron Member Brad Johnston of Redmond, Oregon. I had the pleasure of meeting Brad in person last year at the Official Law Abiding Biker Patron Member ride and meetup event in Salt Lake City, Utah. As Law Abiding Biker Media continues to grow so does the awesome and supportive community. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE We use the term "unsanctioned' event in a fun and playful way. Brad got ahold of me and asked me for my blessing on a ride and meetup event he personally wanted to organize in Redmond Oregon. He had posted this event in the Private Patron Member Only Facebook Group and got a great response. We go over the details of what Brad has planned for this ride and meetup in this episode. The event will be held on June 27, 2020 in the Redmond, Oregon area and will start around 11:00 am. There will be a relaxing and beautiful day ride that Brad has mapped out. Following the day ride will be a meetup at Brad's own home with some great BBQ and drinks. It sounds like an amazing day. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com I was interviewed by Lawdog (LD) over at The Fine Blue Line Podcast, which is his newly created podcast for cops by cops as he says. I actually got to sit and relax for once as a guest and not run the show. He wanted to interview me as I am a full-time police motorcycle officer and trainer. I also run Law Abiding Biker™ Media on the side. He had a ton of questions for me and we just sat and talked. It was a great time. Take a listen and get an inside look into what it's like day to day being a police motorcycle officer and riding a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide. There are many things the general public may not know and I reveal it all. We talk about many things such as the best police motorcycles, day to day duties, what I like, what I don't like, policies, equipment, my experience, and training. And a whole bunch more! I thank Lawdog at The Fine Blue Line Podcast for allowing me to use the interview audio file and put it out to the Law Abiding Biker™ audience on this podcast! Official website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com This episode is all about the unsanctioned, I say that jokingly, Patron Ride & Meetup Event occurring in Tennessee on June 22 of 2019! That's just four days after the Official Sanctioned 2019 Law Abiding Biker Patron Meetup (Episode #194) in Salt Lake City, Utah! For the finer details of these events, you need to be a Patron Member of Law Abiding Biker Media and be in the Private Patron Member Only Motorcycle Facebook Group, which is a troll free zone. Get signed up and become a Patron Member now! Don't forget the Official 2019 Sanctioned Law Abiding™ Biker Media ride and dinner in the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area! (Podcast Episode #194) This unsanctioned Patron Ride & Meetup in Tennessee will be Patrons meeting and riding with other Patrons over and around the east coast area of the U.S., We here at Law Abiding Biker Media will not be present for this event. I'm super excited that the Patron Member community in the Private Member Only Facebook Group is taking it upon themselves to meet each other and schedule events like this! I never dreamed this sort of thing would occur when I started Law Abiding Biker™ nearly 6 years ago! That Private Patron Member Only Motorcycle Facebook Group is the best community of motorcycle enthusiasts around & you're missing out if you're not in there. It is the best troll free motorcycle forum in the world and it's all about bikers helping bikers inside with courtesy and respect for each other. It is completely searchable and you can find topics of all kinds related to motorcycles. It has collected quite a database of topics over the years as you can imagine. If you can't find a specific topic or discussion in search, just post the question and bikers from around the world with all different experience levels will gladly assist you and/or guide you with their expertise. Many of the Law Abiding Biker™ Media east coast Patron Members can't make it west across the United States to our yearly sanctioned rides and meetups & we understand that. We are unable at this time to really travel on our motorcycles any further east for meetups and events because we here at Law Abiding Biker™ Media are all still working our other full-time paying jobs. When some of us retire at some point from those paying jobs and have more time off, we hope to be able to reach out further and get further east and even outside of the country for events. A special thanks to Patron Member Russell Roberts of Tennessee, who is spearheading this unsanctioned Patron Meetup in June 2019. I have him on the mic via a Facetime call for this episode and we dive in deeper so I can learn about this event & share the details with you. Russell has an awesome ride plan set up for the day to include the famous "Tail of the Dragon" and I am so jealous I can't go. He also rented a very cool and secluded house with a private back yard to end the ride at. Once there and after the day ride, Russell has a BBQ dinner planned for everyone! You must get ahold of Russell Roberts in the Private Patron Member Only Motorcycle Facebook Group and RSVP to the Unsanctioned Ride & Meetup in Tennesee on June 19, 2019. Only those that do so will get the proper information and be allowed to attend. Deadline to get signed up is June 1, 2019. Note: Russell Roberts is paying for all this out of his own pocket at this point. At the dinner portion of the event, there will be a hat, so bring some cash and help Russell Roberts offset the personal cost he has invested to make this happen for everyone. He is doing this because he cares about the Law Abiding Biker community and wants to help further the #BikerRevolution! Again, for the finer details of both these 2019 events, you need to be a Patron Member of Law Abiding Biker Media and be in the Private Patron Member Only Motorcycle Facebook Group. Although I love riding cross-country on my Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special on maintained roads, I'd love to someday do some adventure off-road riding on roads that can only be seen and ridden on adventure type motorcycles. Being a full-time LEO Motorcycle Officer and running Law Abiding Biker™ full time on my days off does not leave me enough time right now to get into adventure motorcycle riding. I'll likely try some adventure motorcycle riding when I retire from the LEO job but for now, I just want to learn as much as I can about it. Listen in as we ask Adam about his background, the best adventure motorcycles, riding experience, packing for adventure riding, clothing & riding gear, eating arrangements, fuel stops, fuel issues, roadside motorcycle maintenance, breakdowns, GPS tracking, mapping, and trip planning. Adam reveals what he learned on this 14-day trip and he gives some insider tips that you'll want to know. I hope this episode reaches many street style riders that may want to try adventure motorcycle riding or are currently doing so. I think it's an exciting sport and another great opportunity to ride a motorcycle, see beautiful country, and meet riders from around the world. Special guest, Adam, recently took a 14-day adventure motorcycle ride to these areas on his BMW R1200 GS and he tells all about it. Popeye and I asked Adam a ton of questions as Adam is very knowledgeable in the sport of adventure motorcycle riding. We were broadcasting live video with live chat for our exclusive Patron Members! Although I love riding cross-country on my Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special on maintained roads, I'd love to someday do some adventure off-road riding on roads that can only be seen and ridden on adventure type motorcycles. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Podcast-In this episode, Oscar and I fill you in on the recent voluntary Harley-Davidson brake fluid recall and their recommendation to replace/flush your brake fluid every two years regardless of mileage. We spent the day flushing & replacing the brake fluid in my 2014 Harley Street Glide Special and on Oscar's 2013 Harley Ultra Classic in the Law Abiding Biker shop. Of course, we filmed this and it will eventually release on our YouTube channel, so you too can perform this task. There is no need to take your Harley to a dealership. We'll show you how to do it and how easy it is. Make sure you're subscribed to our YouTube Channel, so you're notified when we come out with tutorial videos like this. No additional cost to you, but if you click through and make a purchase we get a small commision. MV8000 Automotive Tune-up and Brake Bleeding Kit Used this for years and it works great Mityvac MV6835 Vacuum Brake Bleeding Kit What we used for this film project and loved it! Brake Fluid Tester - calibrated for DOT 4 brake fluids We also mention our Harley Milwaukee-Eight Oil Change and Routine Maintenance Video. The owner's manual now says to test the brake fluid with a tester. Get the video and save money by not having to take your Harley to a dealership to have a simple oil change and service done. Understand, that bleeding your Harley brakes and flushing the system is basically the same process. When just bleeding your brakes to get rid of air, you just add fluid to the master cylinder until you get the air out. You are mixing the new fluid with the old. When you are actually flushing and replacing your brake fluid, you suck the master cylinder dry and then put new fluid in and bleed the brake system until all the old fluid is evacuated, thus having all new fluid in the brake system. This brake fluid issue is not specific to Harley as all motorcycles use much of the same brake fluid. Harley was just getting ahead of the game and recommending changing it out every two years to avoid any problems. You should do this on your motorcycle regardless of what make. Check out awesome motorcycle tutorial videos here! Brake fluid is cheap, so if you do this brake flush yourself in your own shop or garage, you'll only spend $6-$10 on the brake fluid. Also, know that brake fluid captures moisture, so don't keep your bottle of brake fluid after you open it on the shelf for future use. Once you open it and use what you need, get rid of the rest. Buy a new bottle the next time. Here is a good article from Harley-Davidson about the voluntary recall and the need to replace your brake fluid every two years. Don't mind the part where they say to have a certified technician perform the flush. Harley-Davidson article on changing your brake fluid This is just an overview of the information in this podcast episode. You'll definitely need to listen in to get all the details and necessary information. Sponsor-Ciro 3D CLICK HERE! Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com This is an interview with me, Ryan Urlacher, CEO of Law Abiding Biker Media. I was contacted by freelance writer Janalee Chmel as she wanted to write a story on me for one, if not two different magazine publications. The story is at least going to appear in a tattoo magazine called Inkspired. Yes, I have tattoos and am a biker, so she thought it was fitting. Janalee has been following the Law Abiding Biker Podcast, our YouTube Channel, our website articles, our online motorcycle store, and joined our email club to learn all she could about us. She was also very interested in our Exclusive Patron Membership and benefits. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE I recorded this interview and let you listen in as Janalee asks me a ton of great questions. She really digs in and gets behind the scenes of Law Abiding Biker Media and how I, Ryan Urlacher, founded and continue to run Law Abiding Biker Media with all its different aspects. I share many of my thoughts from the past 5 years since the inception of Law Abiding Biker Media back in March of 2013. I started this endeavor back then with nothing more than an iPad, microphone, and computer and used my daughter's closet as a soundproof recording room. Wow, we have come along way since then. We also discuss some of the hard times we've endured, such as our recent December 2017 online store storage facility fire where we lost all of our inventory and were not insured for it. I give you my deepest thoughts on the matter and what it's taking to try and rebuild that particular part of the business. I interviewed Eric back on podcast episode #68 about his Sit, Stay, Ride Sidecar Dogs Documentary Film. In this episode, I have the pleasure of talking with Eric and his lead actor and co-producer of the film, Neil Olson. Also involved in the film is Eric's wife, Geneva Ristau, who is a co-producer and editor. Eric is part of the law abiding biker community and produces great films for bikers. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE It is not cheap to create films such as this and the expenses are piling up. So far, everything has been done out of pocket and on a tight budget. Eric has started an Indiegogo Fundraiser to assist with expensive items such as visual effects, sound mixing, and music composition and the fundraiser ends mid-May 2018. These things would give the film more value for the audience. There are rewards dependant on your contribution amount. Top rewards include a speaking role in the movie and more! It is yet to be determined if this will be a stand-alone film or spawn into a series. I will definitely be supporting Eric and the crew in moving forward! This motorcycle film looks so promising and I'm excited about it after watching the official trailer! The Last Motorcycle on Earth is a dramatic series about a vintage motorcycle collector and bike builder, Conrad Mendel, as he grapples with a new world of technology that threatens to destroy his passion and way of life. Self-driving cars are taking over. Silicon Valley and the United States Government have collaborated to push society toward a fully-autonomous transportation system. Motorcycles and riders are an easy first target in the drive to ban human-operated vehicles. Impossible, you say? Not so fast. Summary: The story centers on a small group of motorcyclists facing down the federal government and the tech industry as society is pushed to ban motorcycles, petroleum and transition to self-driving cars. Produced by professional indie filmmakers and avid motorcyclists in Missoula, Montana. This show is being made by the skin of our teeth and the thin tread on our tires. The first hour-long episode is finished, hours 2 and 3 are partially shot. They need our help to finish. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com This is part two of two of my podcast interview with Ray “Izod” Lubesky, the International President of the Iron Legacy Motorcycle Club. Ray Lubesky was one of the founding members of the Iron Order MC, but is now with the Iron Legacy MC. Lubeksy says he was expelled from the Iron Order MC along with other members over disagreements in the club's direction. At that point, Lubesky and others started the Iron Legacy Motorcycle Club which now has chapters in the United States and abroad. Of course, the Iron Order Motorcycle Club still exists under new leadership. Past Interview with Lubesky when he was with the Iron Order MC: Episode #65-Iron Order Motorcycle Club-Official Podcast Interrogation-Part 1 of 2 Episode #64-Iron Order Motorcycle Club-Official Podcast Interrogation-Part 2 of 2 We dive deep into everything you need to know about this club. The Iron Legacy claims to be a law abiding club and I can find no credible evidence to the contrary. The Iron Legacy MC is not a Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club (LEMC) nor do they claim such. They do have law enforcement members along with many other members from different walks of like. I ask Lubesky the tough questions in this interview as there is controversy that surrounds him and the Iron Legacy MC, which was also the case when he was with the Iron Order MC. You will definitely want to listen in on both podcast episodes dedicated to this interview. You won't hear an interview like this on any other motorcycle/biker podcast out there. The Iron Order is a very large international motorcycle club. Like all law-abiding biker clubs should do, they refuse to follow the “Confederation of Clubs” (COC) rules. The COC has no authority over free members of the motorcycling community. They have no authority over anyone unless you willfully let them control you. For the most part, only the criminal biker community gives them any attention. Criminal bikers make up far less than 1% of all bikers/motorcyclists on the road. Instead, the Iron Legacy is a part of the Alliance of Motorcycle Clubs, which is for law-abiding biker clubs. The Alliance was created to promote fellowship and networking amongst law-abiding biker clubs. There is no fee to belong to The Alliance, but there is an MOU. About the Iron Legacy MC: Taken from their website: On July 4, 2004 several men gathered in a garage in Indiana to found a unique law abiding club that was beholden to none. That club grew to become a huge family of brothers that paved the way for others to follow. In 2015 many of these brothers decided to start a new club to continue the Legacy of those founding principles and beliefs established in 2004. Our oaths to those founding principles and that club are intact, honored and followed to the letter as we carry that torch with us to this honorable endeavor of perseverance and continuance before those very ideals are lost to change forever. This is our opportunity to reignite the old school, traditional heritage of MC’s from the 50’s and early 60’s, following those traditions and close brotherhood all clubs seek. Our history is built on those premises established 14 years ago and we're starting our 15th year as Iron Legacy MC. Not a new beginning, but a return to the origins we swore our allegiance to that brought us together years ago with new horizons. On this episode of Motorcycle Madhouse we will be taking on the subject of Alliance of Law Abiding Clubs and Ryan Urlacher of Law Abiding Biker. The Alliance of Law Abiding Clubs is a predominent LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) based organization that has been going out there on the streets putting people in harms way. They have continually stated that anyone that doesn't agree with their positions they are criminal organizations. This so called Alliance has used Ryan Urlacher from Law Abiding Biker to push this propaganda through his podcasts, videos and website. Today, Motorcycle Madhouse pushes back on both and offers up the hypocrisy that these two organizations are. We also take on Ryan Urlachers first part of his interview with Ray "lollipop" Lubeski. Disgraced ex IP of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club and current president of the pop-up club Iron Legacy. In the first part of the interview Ryan Urlacher claims Lollipop has did nothing worng . Even though there is ample evidence through Lollipops own email correspondence threats of violence against other clubs and civilians. As well as his part in 10 shootings involving the Iron Order M/C while he was IP until thrown out in bad standing. Buckle up cause this will be an hour long episode taking on what many consider to be the scurge on the motorcycle club community. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com A Harley-Davidson cam upgrade on your engine can provide more power for certain RPM ranges, which is completely dependent on what style aftermarket cam you purchase. A more extreme cam can also make your bike run in a way that's not optimal for your type of riding. A cam upgrade after the original purchase of your Harley from a dealership will also likely void your factory and/or extended engine warranty. Additionally, cams and installs can get rather costly. So, many considerations need to be made before you make a decision to upgrade your Harley cam. Note: We are not experts on Harley cam upgrades, but we are simply trying to relate general and basic knowledge to help the average everyday biker out there. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE With so many aftermarket Harley cams available and so much improper information in the spam filled online Harley forums, we wanted to record this podcast episode to help the average everyday biker out there decide and navigate through the smoke and mirrors, as to help all make an educated decision on whether or not to upgrade the cam on a Harley. We break it down Law Abiding Biker style! I had Oscar & Big Daddy on the mics with me and they are both well versed in Harley cam upgrades. Don't worry, listen in and you'll see we break it down and don't get overly technical on this subject-just what you need to know. By installing a cam upgrade on your Harley, you can increase horsepower or torque by essentially changing your valve timing. You'll be letting the exhaust out and fuel/air in at very specific times. By changing this timing, you can increase maximum torque in different ranges, such as low or high. It's all about the "grind" of your cam and that can get really technical. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! Why doesn't Harley use better stock cams? A stock cam in your Harley provides a safe range and tries to do everything "okay" through all the ranges and it's EPA compliant. You'll see nothing great at the low or high end, but the bike will start well and run well for the average everyday rider out there. And, let's not forget that a very large portion of Harley-Davidson's income is from selling performance aftermarket parts and charging high labor rates to install such parts. They'd lose much money if they put a better stock cam in the motor at the factory. Question to ask yourself: Before a cam upgrade on your Harley, you'll want to ask yourself-what model of Harley engine do you have and what kind of riding do you do? Maybe you're riding a bagger with a passenger and you want low-end torque to take off quicker up to a certain RPM? Or, maybe you'll choose more of a horsepower cam and would like horsepower to kick in at a higher mid-range RPM, so when you roll the throttle to pass a car it's there for you? Check out awesome motorcycle tutorial videos here! You'll also want to decide if you want a regular or high lift cam. With a high lift cam, you'll need to have a modified high flow head. You'll have to have polished intake and exhaust ports or even have the ports made bigger (ported). You'll have to replace things like stronger valve springs and larger valves and so on. This can get in depth and expensive quick. An aftermarket cam for your Harley can push your valves up farther or keep them open longer, creating different levels of torque and/or horsepower. A high lift cam will push the valve deeper into the cylinder and keep it open longer. A high lift cam will likely give your engine that "loping" sound at idle as you often hear in muscle cars. Basically, a low-end cam is about improving torque, while a high lift cam is about horsepower. You'll want to decide if you want a chain or gear driven cam. For more information on that subject, you'll want to listen to Podcast Episode #73. Your stock Harley cam is chain driven out of the factory. Generally speaking, gear driven cams for Harley are a bit more reliable long-term. Gear driven cams do whine a bit over the stock chain driven cams. Gear driven cam kits are a bit more expensive than chain and a little more is involved on the install as you'll have to measure crank run out with a dial gauge and make sure the cam is still true etc. What are the Harley stage kits? Harley basically has four different stage kits, such as stage one, stage two & so on. Basically, those kits are put together by Harley and the parts included in the kits work well together. By getting a Harley stage kit you don't have to spend a bunch of time researching and piecing things out. As the stage kits get higher in number the more parts and labor are involved. But, higher number stage kits are well beyond just getting a new cam. A stage one kit is basic air intake and exhaust all the way up to stage 4, which will be a large project such as air intake, exhaust, larger pistons, cam and more. This is a basic explanation and you should reference a Harley dealership or the HD website to get all the specifics for each stage kit. Other awesome aftermarket comparable stage kit: You should also consider the Vance & Hines 30+ Horspower Kit, which is an all-inclusive kit. We like this kit so much we brought it right to the Law Abiding Biker Store. The kit comes with the following items. - Oversized 450 Slip-ons (chrome or black) with Carbon Fiber End Caps (exclusive to 30+ HP Kit) - Carbon Fiber VO2 Air Intake Kit - Fuelpak FP3 with Raceshop Mapping - Power Dual Head Pipes (chrome or black) - 575 Camshaft Set - Adjustable Pushrods - Vance & Hines Inscribed black Timing Cover Check out the V&H 30+ Horsepower Kit & further details in Our Store Picking a Cam: Most reputable Harley cam manufacturers will have all the specifications for a particular grind cam listed on their website. You can look at things such as-what RPM range the cam is for? So, make sure you do a little research to make sure you're getting what you want. Understand, that with many basic shallow ramp or "mild" cams you can just install the cam and pushrods and be good to go. That is likely as far as an average everyday Harley rider needs to go. Getting into more aggressive high lift cams will add many additional issues and associated costs and may not be necessary. But, it's your bike, money, and time, so equip your Harley how you choose. You'll also want to consider a "bolt in" cam for ease of installation. These bolt-in cams fit right in with ease. The cam doesn't actually bolt-in, but that is just a phrase that means no other mods will be needed for fiment. Note: A cam upgrade for a Harley is the best bang for your buck to improve the performance of your Harley from stock. Tuning your Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) after a cam install: You'll need to re-map your EFI with a good quality aftermarket tuner after a cam install. We recommend the Vance & Hines FuelPak 3, which we use and sell in our store. You can tell V&H techs what cam and kit you installed and they can send a map to your smartphone that you can then upload into the FuelPak 3 and then flash your bike's ECM. Tip: Before buying an upgraded cam for your Harley, call your EFI tuner manufacturer and make sure they either have or will create a map for you. You may also consult your cam manufacturer and see if they have an EFI map. Check out Podcast Episode #34 for a ton of great information on EFI tuners for Harley. Must Listen in: This is just some of the information we discuss. You absolutely must listen in on this podcast episode to hear what cams and kits we actually like best! Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com Smaller Harley rider? This episode is a result of a voicemail we got from listener Stephanie Crabtree of Kansas City, Missouri. She asked about Harley's and smaller rider issues, mainly females. She wanted to know what would be a good Harley for her at 5-03 and 120 lbs. She wanted our opinions on this issue and that's exactly what we give in this episode. This begs the question-does size matter? Yah, I said it. Stephanie also wanted to know about females in a club setting and whether she should join one, so we touch on that too. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE The size of Harley you purchase is often determined by your riding experience and not size necessarily, as some modifications to the larger models can be made. We'll talk about that later. Our suggestion for a newer smaller Harley rider is the Street or Sportster models as they are smaller, lighter, and cost less. You could move into one of the smaller Softail models from there. I will say that even if you're a smaller Harley rider, you shouldn't be scared off by the bigger Harley touring models. If you use proper riding and control techniques, you can easily handle a larger bike. Size doesn't really matter that much when controlling a motorcycle. Being bigger will help you if you have to lift the motorcycle after dropping it though. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! Jumping on a bigger taller bike can be a challenge for a smaller Harley rider when it comes to stopping and touching the ground. Some modifications can be made to the motorcycle such as lower rear shocks and a lower profile seat. You can certainly drop inches doing these mods. You could also wear boots with thicker type soles, thus adding inches of reach. These are just a few tricks. Be careful not to go to the extreme with the Harley mods or you'll lose the rideability of the bike. This article is just a glimpse into some of the information we reveal in this podcast episode, so you'll need to listen in for the rest. We also give our opinions on whether or not Stephanie should join a motorcycle club and what type. Shane and his dad Rick Riffel, a father-son team out of Huntersville, NC, have developed a unique quick detach luggage system for Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles. And it's the best in our opinion! In less than 10 seconds you can have your luggage off and on your Harley or Indian! And no more luggage straps slapping your paint. Those days are gone for good. The Rickrak is sturdy, yet light. Videos: Check out our YouTube Channel or this website and use the search bars to search for "Rickrak". You also gotta check out Rickrak's high-quality Harley Saddlebag Safety Bolts. We've tested many similar products and we believe Rickrak's are the best out there by far. They are super high quality and used by the crew here. Beware of the cheap stock pins that hold your Harley bags on. There have been recalls and lawsuits over bags falling off over the years. And, never lose or leave your motorcycle gas cap again. If you're like me, I take it off and put it on top of the dirty pump. Yup, I've seen many biker friends leave the cap behind and they are not cheap at all to replace. Plus, you're picking up grime that can then be introduced to your fuel system. With the simple Gas Kap Keeper Magnet by Rickrak, you won't leave it behind anymore. It installs in seconds and you can then stick your gas cap to your tank, ignition, or anywhere else metal. And, it has a super awesome protective coat, so it won't scratch your paint. Listen in to this episode to get all these details and much more. Podcast-In this episode I had the pleasure of interviewing Aero Rudd, the President and Founder of Ciro 3D. Aero and his design team are hard at work making Ciro 3D the hottest new line of aftermarket parts for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Law Abiding Biker has embraced Ciro 3D products after installing many of them on our personal bikes. The parts are of the highest quality and their array of lighting products are plug-and-play. This makes it easy for bikers to install right in their very own shop or garage. That means less money spent paying a dealership to do the install. We like Ciro 3D products so much, we brought them right to the Official Law Abiding Biker Online Store! Ciro 3D has numerous accessories, rider comfort, style, and performance products for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Check out their chrome, lighting, cams, exhaust, and air intakes. The Ciro 3D style products are easy to install with no modifying, cutting, grinding or welding, making for an easy installation. Ciro 3D has over 200 products already and that number is growing along with their popularity. We have already released several completely free Ciro 3D product install videos on the Law Abiding Biker YouTube Channel, so make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss out. We will be releasing many more Ciro 3D product review and install videos. Aero had an advantage and got exposed to the motorcycle parts industry at a young age. His father founded both Kuryakyn and Drag Specialties. Aero worked in all different capacities within Kuryakyn and learned the industry well. Aero actually hired 3 long time experienced Kuryakyn designers to work for him at Ciro 3D. Ciro 3D is based out of Hudson, Wisconsin and you can find them at many major motorcycle rallies, so make sure and stop by their space and say hi. Official website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com Podcast-Rick "Big Daddy" Kane and Brian White were in the studio with me after spending the day filming and installing Vance & Hines Power Dual headers on Brian's 2017 Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-Eight Road Glide Special. These headers get rid of your catalytic converter (cat), opening up the flow, increasing power & sound, & greatly reducing heat on the rider. Cats create a large amount of heat. SUPPORT US AND CHECK OUT OUR AWESOME MOTORCYCLE TUTORIAL VIDEOS! We also installed Vance & Hines Titan 450 Over-Sized slip on mufflers for an awesome power boost, great sound, and good look. We finished by installing a Harley-Davidson stage-one air intake and mapped the electronic fuel injection (EFI) with a Vance & Hines Fuelpak 3 EFI tuner after making these modifications. Make sure you are subscribed to our YouTube Channel, so you are notified when these install and review videos are released. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! Brian was a Victory owner for many years and recently bought this denim black 2017 Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-Eight Road Glide Special. Rick and I question Brian as to his thought process for switching from Victory to Harley-Davidson. One big consideration, of course, is Polaris', owner of Victory, recent decision to cease all production of the Victory line. Brian brings some interesting points to the discussion. He discusses which bike he likes better and why. You really need to listen in to this discussion. Note: Always check your local, state, and federal laws regarding motorcycle exhaust systems. GET V&H EXHAUST SYSTEMS IN OUR OFFICIAL STORE HERE AND HELP SUPPORT US Putting these V&H Power Dual headers on increased the sound of Brian's bike, because of the cat now being gone. It also increased performance & cut out a ton of heat. We really liked the overall sound with the installation of the V&H Titan 450 OS slip-on mufflers. Remapping your motorcycle's Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) is necessary when you change the flow of exhaust or air intake on your Harley, such as we did in these exhaust installs. Make it easy and get a V&H Fuelpak 3 Electronic Fuel Injection Tuner from our store. We highly recommend this EFI tuner and we use it heavily here at Law Abiding Biker™ Media.
