There's a mistaken impression that our national forests are supposed to be in some kind of primeval condition. That's not what anybody wants, and health forestry practices have been standard in Wisconsin for a long time. But with a president abusing an emergency declaration to sidestep environmental safeguards, it's easy to see why a former head of the US Forest Service from Wisconsin thinks this is a dangerous plan. Also: Salina Heller talks to the head of the Packers Hall of Fame during Draft Weekend. Ironically, we have more football on the show's menu! We start with Spencer Larson, Stadium Services Manager with the Green Bay Packers. One of his main gigs is running the Packers Hall of Fame. Spencer talks about the wide range of individuals who visit Lambeau and the Hall of Fame. His story starts in Appleton, being a batboy with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, working in Madison, Eau Claire and then to Minnesota with the Minnesota Wild. He found the gig with the Packers and seems to be "all smiles" about it! It's definitely a great story! Then, Northeast Wisconsin's own Tanor Bortolini joins via the phone. From Kewaunee, and having played for the Badgers, he's just finished his first season in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts. It's great hearing how excited he still is with playing professional ball and playing with team members he's watched play for a number of years. He says he was pretty amazed to play against Aaron Rodgers this season. Jim Rutledge, Matt Hamilton and Molly Brown talk all things Packers -- on their flight to Brazil. Matt reaches into his homer bag to ask the fans who from the Packers that they'd most wanna sit next to on the 12-hour flight to Brazil, and Jim gives *proper credit* to the Packers twitter for the idea on today's poll (no plagiarism accusations here). Want loud Jaire, easy-going Jordan, or medium-sized Matt LaFleur? Plus, what're the biggest red flags that would make you not wanna sit next to someone on a long flight? Also, Molly and the rest of us don't need to plagiarize to come up with our bad takes! In today's Minute to Win It, Jim & Primetime quiz Matt & Molly on the last 10 players to be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame, including a NOTABLE ommissison...

Ray Scott was best known for his play-by-play broadcasts of the Green Bay Packers, along with Tony Canadeo. He was one of my all-time favorite sports announcers. With the CBS broadcast team he worked with Pat Summerall. He called the 1965 World Series on NBC television with Vin Scully. He also called the Milwaukee Brewers telecasts in 1976-77. In this podcast he'll talk about the Packers and give his thoughts on a book “Out of Their League” by former St. Louis Cardinals linebacker, Dave Meggyesy. It was a very controversial book badmouthing pro football. In the book he writes that pro football is a fraud, racist, with payoffs, drug abuse, and incredible violence. Ray Scott is in the Pro Football and Packers Hall of Fame. He was ranked 28th in the list of the Top 50 Sportscasters of All Time.

Are you ready for some football? It's that time of year. The Pack opens the season Sunday against the Chicago Bears. One of my all-time favorite Green Bay Packer players was Bart Starr. Among his many football accomplishments, Bart led his team to victory in the first two Super Bowl games. He was named MVP in those games. His record in post season was 9-1. His career completion record was the best and he held the Packers' franchise record for games played: 196. Bart was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Packers Hall of Fame. He and his wife Cherry were married for more than 60 years. They helped start the Lombardi Cancer Foundation and co-founded the Rawhide Boys Ranch. In this podcast we'll hear from Bart in his playing days, when I interviewed him at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation Golf Tournament and then on the phone when he was starting his coaching career with the green and gold.
