In this Quick Tok episode, Jack discusses three people's near-death experiences.Pam Reynolds' NDE (USA):Pam Reynolds underwent a unique near-death experience during surgery in 1991. She had a large aneurysm in her brain that required an intricate surgical procedure. To perform the surgery, her body temperature was lowered to a hypothermic level, her heart was stopped, and her brain activity ceased. During this time, she reported leaving her body and observing the surgery from above. She described details of the procedure that she wouldn't have been able to know otherwise. Pam also mentioned encountering deceased relatives and a spiritual presence. Her experience is often cited as a significant example of an NDE that occurred under highly controlled medical conditions.Anita Moorjani's NDE (India):Anita Moorjani, an Indian-born woman living in Hong Kong, had an NDE in 2006 while in a coma due to late-stage cancer. During her NDE, she reported a feeling of overwhelming love and acceptance, along with a sense of being connected to a higher spiritual realm. She felt a presence that she identified as her deceased father, who conveyed to her that she had a choice to either stay in that realm or return to her physical body. Anita chose to return and, astonishingly, her physical condition improved dramatically. Her remarkable recovery and her description of her NDE have inspired many people to view life, death, and healing in a different light.Dr. Eben Alexander's NDE (USA):Dr. Eben Alexander, a neurosurgeon, had an NDE in 2008 while in a coma due to bacterial meningitis. His case is unique because, as a medical professional, he had been skeptical about NDEs being anything more than brain-related phenomena. During his NDE, he reported entering a realm of intense light and encountering a presence he described as "Om," which he interpreted as a divine source of all creation. He experienced a profound sense of unity and love. Darren McEnaney is the host of Seeking i, a podcast that speaks with the top researchers of afterlife evidence, psi, and consciousness. Darren is a self described "lay researcher of consciousness focused on anomalous experience and life beyond physical death." Full show notes for What Convinced Two Skeptics that There is an Afterlife?: Darren McEnaney of Seeking i Darren always assumed consciousness outside of a brain and an afterlife was fantasy as a child. When he became severely depressed at only 12 years old, he discovered NDE's - Near Death Experiences, as he was searching for some meaning to life. He was interested in them but dismissed them as nothing more than hallucinations to cope with the trauma of dying. He then learned that many people have the exact same experiences and "hallucinations." He was so intrigued by this that he researched further, and was astounded to learn that many people actually report information that is verified. One case that still stands out to him is the Pam Reynolds case.r. Both of them discuss the concept of proof versus evidence. No there can never be actual proof of an afterlife, but that does not mean there can't be a preponderance of compelling and valid evidence that we survive death. Darren talks about how proof isn't even the goal of science. Liz shares that for her it is when all the evidence comes together that she becomes convinced. The one common thread explanation of all the evidence form NDE's to mediumship is survival of consciousness. The two discuss that there is no good explanation for how a brain, which is material mass and matter, creates and forms consciousness. There is as much of an explanation for how a material brain can do that as there is that consciousness could be stored in a cloud somewhere and downloaded to a brain. An issue they both are concerned about is that this research is not neutral. Everyone truly hopes there is life after death. Could this deep wish affect how people process and interpret the evidence? Are Darren and Lis just seeing things how they hope they are? While both have this concern, Darren and Liz both make reasonable arguments for why they end up concluding that is not the case. Liz also shares some tangible evidence she has gotten that show there really seems to be more than just a material world. Starting a business can be tedious, especially when you do not have any background in sales marketing. The latter was also a problem to Pam Reynolds, the co-founder of Allegiance Aging Care Services.   In this episode, Pam shares her story on how she had improved her skills in entrepreneurship, which led to a successful business running for almost six years. About Our Guest: Pam Reynolds is the co-founder of Allegiance Aging Care Services, which was launched with the primary goal of providing support and guidance to seniors who want to grow older in their homes. Pam's Insights on Determination and Improvement How It Started Pam was a social worker before she started her business. She does not have any background in entrepreneurship. Her friend in the senior care industry became her mentor and later a co-founder of Pam's growing business today. Challenges on the Way Pam found it hard to get into the sales and marketing strategies for her business since she has no background. Gaining trust from the people around you regarding the credibility of your business is also a challenge for Pam. Overcoming the Hurdle Showing your determination by showing up every day and being consistent is some of the first few steps. To attract prospective customers, Pam says a business must consider its franchise model, and it should be unique. Be open to other people's ideas to strategize on marketing your business. Learning Entrepreneurship Pam highlights the importance of having a skill set and using your talents to utilize the growth of your business. You have to work on your business, not in your business.  It is also essential to recognize your weaknesses or to recognize unnecessary things that would not be helpful for your business.  Controlling Emotions  Never let your emotions affect your work ethic. While the business is growing, all of you must work together as a team.  Making Adjustments This is one sacrifice every business has to make. According to Pam, it was risky because this change means she might lose some of her potential customers. Never be afraid to make changes or adjustments, such as increased rates, as long as they are reasonable. Advice for Acquirement The company acquiring you must have the same values as your business. We take a listen to the recent episode 'Coming Back' in which Pam Reynolds reflects on her near-death experience during major brain surgery.

Pam Reynolds had a beautiful near-death experience that by viewed in a BBC interview, but here we share a more detailed account of her experiences on the other side.

In 1991, Pam Reynolds underwent surgery to remove a large aneurism from her brain stem. Doctors cooled her body to less than half of normal temperature and temporarily stopped her heart during the procedure. This is what she experienced. If a group of Near Death Experience investigators had sat down with a group of doctors and worked out an experiment to study a Near Death Experience then this would have been an excellent scenario.In part two I will be going over the near death experience of Vicki Umipeg. The extraordinary thing about her NDE was that she could see so much and yet from birth she was blind.
