Super Bowl energy meets real community impact as we crack open prop bets, swap bourbon notes, and rally behind TASC's All-In casino night, our favorite way to turn a rowdy room into real support for teens in Northwest Arkansas. We start with light-hearted Jets nostalgia and a wager sheet that could cost us twenty bucks, then jump straight into why this event works: it's joyful, it's social, and every laugh helps fund counseling, after-school programs, and life skills for kids who need a steady hand.Hannah joins us to map out the night, from a VIP happy hour with first look at silent auction items to a main floor that hums with blackjack, craps, poker, a horse-race game, and a big central bar. We talk tickets, early-bird pricing, and how to proxy-bid if you're out of town. If you're hunting for auction gold, the lineup is stacked: Orphan Barrel age-statement unicorns, a Heaven Hill 17-year, plus an AMP concert package paired with a hotel stay and dinner. It's the rare fundraiser where bourbon lovers, music fans, and first-time bidders all find a lane. Then we dig into the heart of TASC. This local nonprofit delivers sliding-scale mental health counseling, First Steps for pregnant and parenting teens, and hands-on life skills like budgeting, car maintenance, banking, scholarship prep, ACT strategy, and driver permits. Teens often arrive because they have to, then keep coming because they want to. Programs like Bucket List Summer get them off screens and into real adventures that fill up fast, proof that connection still beats the algorithm. If you've ever wished charity nights felt less stiff and more human, this is your night. Come for the blackjack stories and bingo redemption arcs, stay for the knowledge that your chips translate into therapy sessions, service hours, and second chances. Grab your tickets at tascnwa.org, invite a friend, and if you loved this conversation, subscribe, share the episode, and drop us a quick review so more neighbors can discover the cause.

Every teenager deserves support during one of life's most challenging developmental stages. For nearly two decades, the Teen Action Support Center (TASC) has been providing exactly that to Northwest Arkansas youth, creating a space where teens can access vital services designed specifically for their unique needs.Founded by Dawn and Greg Spragg in 2005, TASC recognized that teenagers occupy a developmental gray area – they're not children, but not yet adults – requiring specialized approaches to their wellbeing. What began in a small white house on New Hope Road has expanded to multiple locations serving hundreds of teens annually across Benton and Washington counties. Last year alone, TASC served 758 unduplicated teens, with approximately 200 receiving mental health services. What makes TASC exceptional is their commitment to accessibility and their proven outcomes. Their sliding-scale payment model (starting at just $5) ensures no teenager is denied care due to financial constraints. Their First Steps program for teen parents boasts a remarkable 100% high school graduation rate, compared to state averages in the 30-40% range. Beyond counseling, TASC offers innovative programming like Bucket List Summer adventures, life skills workshops covering everything from budgeting to apartment leasing, and community service opportunities that build resilience through contribution. The pandemic dramatically increased demand for teen mental health services, highlighting TASC's essential role in our community. As they celebrate their 20th anniversary, TASC continues evolving to meet growing needs – planning a new building, expanding services, and partnering with organizations like Sam's Club for fundraising events. Whether through financial contributions, volunteering expertise, or simply speaking positively about teenagers, everyone can support TASC's mission of helping teens become the best versions of themselves. Visit tascnwa.org today to discover how you can make a difference in a teenager's life.

Thanks largely to corporation tax receipts from multinationals, the Irish state has plenty of money. And so far this election campaign has been largely about how to spend it - on capital investment, on tax cuts and on new spending on all sorts of programmes and projects. But with the threats to Ireland's economic model growing, will such spending be sustainable? Hugh is joined by Professor John McHale, Shana Cohen and Cliff Taylor to discuss Ireland's economic position and whether election spending promises could lead to yet more boom and bust.Shana Cohen is Director at Tasc, a progressive think-tank. John McHale is Professor of Economics at University of Galway's J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics and a former chair of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council. (Segment 1, From 03.11.23) Another busy week at Jesse Brown's Outdoors and on the website as the Jesse Brown's Outdoors crew packs and ships their wares all over the United States. How do we gauge a good week? Well, one way is by counting the number of days that Lead Guide Dave Bergman is on the water. So far this week we have only seen Dave in the store once. That means he has been taking clients out to the stream! While Dave is doing that everyone else has been flipping the store to make space for Spring apparel from Saxx, Patagonia, Free Fly, and Tasc. Meanwhile, the footwear area has been relocated to give you more space and so we can fit all of the new boots and shoes from Salomon, Asolo, Oboz, Keens, and On Running. We all Spring Forward one hour as Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2AM. What does that mean? Longer days to make it happen outside!
