Good afternoon, I'm _____ with today's episode of EZ News. Tai-Ex opening The Tai-Ex opened down 167-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 19,064 on turnover of 6.9-billion N-T The market registered its steepest ever daily decline on Monday - as the main board tumbled 2,065 points due to a downturn in investor sentiment following U-S President Donald Trump's tariff actions. It was the first time the index had closed below the 20,000-point mark since August 5 of last year - and out of 1,034 stocks traded on the Tai-Ex a total of 945 fell by the maximum 10-per cent amid concerns that the tariffs could undermine global trade. Stabilization fund could hold special meeting to ease volatility Meanwhile, The Ministry of Finance says the National Financial Stabilization Fund has not ruled out the possibility of convening a special meeting to discuss measures to ease market volatility after U-S tariffs rattled financial markets. According to the finance ministry, the stabilization fund is closely monitoring (監控) market conditions worldwide and could hold a special meeting in a bid to shore up investor confidence and stabilize the local capital market. The stabilization fund is already slated to hold its regular meeting next Monday. The 500-billion N-T stabilization fund was established by the government in 2000 to serve as a buffer against unexpected external factors that might disrupt the local bourse. Hey weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, and let me tell you, today's forecast is about to tackle New York City like I used to tackle quarterbacks back in my football days!Welcome to another electrifying weather breakdown. Right now in the Big Apple, we've got a cloudy afternoon with just a 20 percent chance of rain. Temperatures are hovering near 51 degrees Fahrenheit with a northwest wind cruising around 10 miles per hour. It's like the sky is running a defensive play against sunshine!Tonight, we're looking at rain rolling in after midnight. We'll drop to around 41 degrees with a north wind about 9 miles per hour. Precipitation's got a high probability of about 80 percent - talk about a weather blitz! Now, let's dive into our Weather Playbook segment. Today, I want to break down the concept of precipitation probability. Think of it like football odds - a 20 percent chance means if we played this weather scenario 10 times, it might rain twice. Pretty cool, right?Three-Day Forecast Playbook:Monday: Rain before 2 PM, steady temperature around 42 degreesMonday Night: 40 percent rain chanceTuesday: Mostly sunny, temperature around 40 degrees with some serious west wind gusts up to 41 miles per hourFor my New York City friends, watch out for those wind gusts on Tuesday - they're gonna be hitting harder than a linebacker on game day!Quick local shout out - if you're near Central Park, maybe pack a light jacket and keep an umbrella handy. This weather's more unpredictable than a last-minute Hail Mary pass! It's gonna be WIIIIILD out there, folks!Hey, thanks for tuning in! If you've got weather questions, shoot them over to dustin@inceptionpoint.ai or check out inceptionpoint.ai for more meteorological magic. And remember, this has been a Quiet Please production. Hey weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, and boy do I have a forecast that's gonna knock your socks off! Welcome to another wild ride through the atmospheric arena of New York City.Let's break down this weekend weather like I used to break down defensive lines - with precision and passion! Right now we're looking at a temperature hovering around 56 degrees Fahrenheit overnight, with a southwest wind cruising around 8 miles per hour. And get this - there's a 30 percent chance of showers before 5 in the morning. Talk about a potential weather blitz!Saturday's gonna be a game changer - partly sunny with temperatures rocketing up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. We've got west winds between 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts that could hit 31 miles per hour. It's like the weather is doing its own touchdown dance! Now for our Weather Playbook segment - let's talk about wind gusts. Think of wind gusts like a quarterback's unexpected scramble. They're short, powerful bursts of wind that can spike way above the standard wind speed. Just like a surprise play, these gusts can catch you off guard!Three-day forecast incoming: Saturday's our MVP with that sunny 80-degree performance. Sunday drops to a cooler 56 degrees with some patchy fog. Monday brings potential showers and temperatures climbing to 68 degrees. It's gonna be a meteorological matchup!Sunday night and Monday look like they might bring some precipitation action - we're talking a 60 percent chance of showers. Might want to keep that rain gear close, team! And hey, don't forget to subscribe to our podcast! Send your weather questions to dustin@inceptionpoint.ai or check out inception point dot ai for more meteorological madness. This has been a Quiet Please production - you can learn more at quiet please dot ai. AHOOGA! begins as a coming-of-age tale set in rural America. The protagonist, a young boy named Oscar, grapples with his father's strict rules and expectations. Despite this, Oscar forms a friendship with Josefina, a Mexican girl from the impoverished side of the tracks. The story, written in a lyrical style with vivid descriptions of the characters and settings, unfolds against a backdrop of profound societal changes and significant historical events, including the rapid rise of the automobile industry and the looming threat of World War I, culminating in a dramatic bank robbery and a chase that leaves a lasting impact on the town and its people. As Oscar and Josefina's relationship develops, they face adversity, including a violent encounter with a group of boys. This event has lasting consequences, shaping their understanding of societal divisions and personal resilience. Then tragedy strikes, leaving the young girl orphaned and on the precipice of yet another mortal tragedy that leaves Oscar broken and blaming his father personally for the loss. The second half of the novel finds Oscar hopping on a train for the city and the irresistible allure of the jazz culture of 1920s Chicago, where he meets Betty, a woman who introduces him to the hidden world of speakeasies and bootlegging. Oscar becomes enamored with the devil's music and its flappers, finding solace and escape in the smoky haze of the underground clubs. Oscar's life takes yet another perilous turn when he meets Nevaeh, a talented jazz singer known as "Little Bird." Nevaeh is involved with a dangerous gangster, Silver Dollar Sam. Despite the risks, Oscar is drawn to Nevaeh, and they begin a passionate affair. Oscar's journey reflects the struggles of many during this era as they navigate the complexities of love, identity, and the pursuit of the American Dream. But no matter how hard Oscar tries, regardless of what vice he chases, be it jazz, liquor, or sex, he can never seem to part with the one who got away, young Josefina, and the ever-increasing desire to avenge her death. The Wild Wind is an American gothic tale about a woman born and raised on the grounds of a psychiatric institution—not as a patient but as the daughter of the asylum's farmer—who learns of love and loss while grappling with the question of what it means to be sane when insanity is the norm. “What's to be sane in the garden of madness?” That's the question haunting Sarah, a centenarian writing about her life growing up at the asylum on the bank of the Illinois River. After a long-tormented life, Sarah intends to commit after completing a typewritten manuscript spoken to a man named Sam. Through a lens of lore and myth—the secrets that shaped Sarah's twisted and mysterious life are revealed. In Sarah's labyrinthine quest for healing and peace, she painstakingly deconstructs the most transformative moments of her life. Her journey, spanning a century, is marked by profound hardship and survival, leading her to the poignant realization: “Sanity is but paper in a world consumed by fire.” The Wild Wind defies convention, blending plot and character development in a refreshingly unique way. With an equally unusual structure and lyrical prose, Sarah's account is intellectually intriguing and emotionally compelling. It sheds light on the darker aspects of American society and history, encouraging readers to view themselves and the world from a fresh perspective. Picture the scene; a small village pub where a young couple are enjoying a quiet drink together before going to tell her parents that they're engaged to be married. They hear a low rumbling in the distance that gets steadily louder, to the point where their small wrought iron table starts to shake and the barely-twenty somethings grab their drinks (he a pint of Strongbow, she a delicate rosé from California.) All of a sudden, a sports car comes drifting around the tight corner spraying dust and pebbles all over the couple, cracking the wine glass and shattering one of the decades old front windows. The car screeches to a halt and a lithe, dirty blonde-haired man wearing leather pants, a sleeveless white tee, and shades alights, walks over to the couple, says "Push the envelope, don't sit on the fence!", retreats, climbs back into the driver's seat, and shouts "I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CAAAARRRRRRRRR!" before gunning it, spraying more pebbles, and a starlted vole, into the carnage he's already created. As the car speeds off into the shattered still of the countryside, the license plate "MEDW$" can just be made out as it shrinks to a dot and vanishes. If Randy were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Don't sit on the fence" or possibly "Why didn't someone buy Rog' a rhyming dictionary?"Today's episode covers another Roger car song, this time from "Innuendo". That's right, we're covering "Ride The Wild Wind".NOTE: If you want to skip ahead to Randy and Kev's manifestations and the wheel spin, that happens at 36:03Thanks to everyone who tuned in to the last episode and left us some comments on Twitter, Facebook, and BlueSky! Perhaps the most audacious lyric in BALLADS OF THE SONG OF SOLOMON, "Jesus, we are gonna dance or fight tonight" raised more than a few eyebrows. The Purple Day Podcast is the audio from our Monday episodes of Storytime in the Schoolhouse. Please note: Storytime is written and recorded for the screen. Some elements of Storytime will transfer better than others. Every Purple Day, or Monday, we are inside the schoolhouse for circle time and storytime. During circle time, we learn seasonal songs and poems together. This week, we learn new lines and words to our poems, making our circle time slightly longer than last week. We also practice a mindful breathing exercise. This month we are learning Wind Breathing. After circle time, we hear a story together. The second week of each month, we hear a pedagogical tale or a teaching tale. These stories address an upcoming change, difficult event, or challenging behavior. Today we hear the story of Wilson Wild Wind, a wild wind who discovers he controls how hard he blows; he can blow softly and carefully or hard and fast. -------- Are you interested in checking out a full week of Storytime? How about four full weeks? Our "Storytime Sampler" includes a free week for each season, giving you new songs and stories to enjoy all year round. Click here to sign up, and we'll send you a link to four weeks of free stories!

After last week's episode being a bit of a no-go due to the tight turnabout in Gameweeks, we hit this one hard. Plenty to discuss as both of us still have our wildcards to hand! A tricky double, followed by a blank, is on the horizon and it's time to start nailing down some plans.

Welcome to the second episode of Season Two of the Bagley Wright Lecture Series on Poetry podcast. This season, we're listening to five lectures by Dorothea Lasky, and related conversations with experts in some of the subjects of Lasky's talks. Today, we'll hear “What is Color in Poetry, or Is It the Wild Wind in the Space of the Word?” This lecture was given September 20, 2013, at New York University. Lasky's lectures explore the non-linear and highly complex relationship between language, creativity, states of being, and meaning-making, considering, for example, the 'I' as multiplicitous shape-shifter in search of the wild power of poetry. Following the lecture, we'll hear a conversation on color, between Lasky and visual artist Tiffany Patterson. To learn more about Tiffany Patterson, please visit her website, here, and check out the BWLS blog to see the two paintings they discuss in this episode. Visit us at our website, www.bagleywrightlectures.org, for more information about Bagley Wright lecturers, as well as links to supplementary materials on each lecturer's archive page, including selected writings. Thank you to NYU for partnering with the Series for this event, and thank you for listening. Dorothea Lasky's book of collected BWLS lectures, Animal (Wave Books, 2019) is here. This week Ian is on Vocal duty with his cover of Ride the Wild Wind, a Roger Taylor Queen curiosity. Off their 14th album Innuendo, the band's last album to be released in lead singer Freddie Mercury's lifetime. We discuss the character of Roger's songwriting, including a theory by Ian that places this track as part of a trilogy, which doesn't' include his other more obvious car reference. Do his solo efforts cast a light on this? Ian decides to take the song in a whole new musical direction inspired by the lyrics, and we love it.Let us know what you think @recoveringq

Croatia's Eurovision 2020 song is a dramatic ballad about love. The lyrics for “Divlji Vjetre”, which translates as “Wild Wind”, see Damir Kedzo ensure that his special one will be loved and cared for even when things don’t go well. “When nothing is left/I will love you even then/wild wind”. In the second verse, it’s clear that the bleak prediction has come to pass. He’s turning to the wild wind, praying for it to leave him in peace. “Go away and leave me without knowing/How a man becomes what you no longer are.” The singer is asking the sky to leave the autumn leaves and raindrops of sorrow on his doorstep. The chorus paints a picture of a stormy autumn, while Damir mourns for the days he felt their love was forever.
As the ghost of JOHANNAuary continues to plague this humble project, we are reminded here at Whoa!mance of the importance of friends when doing battle with distraught paranormals. Yr girls Morgan and Isabeau are joined this week by Erin, the Veteran of Learning the Tropes, for a gracious re-recording to once again discuss Brave The Wild Wind, Book 1 of Johanna Lindsey’s Wyoming series. We meet our heroine, Jessie Blair, as her family is torn asunder by the quick anger of her father. This prologue of violence is a mark of frontier life, and a distinguishing characteristic of our hero, Chase Summers, who, along with a litany of other details, combine to make this a difficult read from the moral high ground of our current moment. But what’s a western without a little grit? What’s a boot without a spur? This one’s for all you cowpokes and horse girls. Whoa!mance is a part of the Frolic Podcast Network.

As the film opens, Loxie Claiborne is running a marine salvage business started by her deceased father. A hurricane is passing through the Key West area leaving behind at least one wreck on the nearby shoals. The Jubilee founders and Loxie and other salvagers race to claim the cargo. Not arriving first, Loxie and her crew rescue the Captain jack Stewart, but do not share in the salvage rights. Apparently the first salver on the scene, King Cutler may have actually planned the wreck. Nursing Jack back to health, Loxie falls in love with him. When she visits Charleston with her cousin Priscilla, Loxie schemes to win a plum captain's position for Jack by seducing Steve Tolliver, who's running the sailing ship line for which Jack works. Steve falls for Loxie and returns with her to Key West to investigate the truth about Jack's shipwreck. Drusilla goes home to Havana when Loxie and Steve returned to Key West. Steve has come to rid the Keys of pirates like Cutler and to be near Loxie. Cutler, in turn arranges to have Steve Shanghai'd by the crew of a whaler. Loxie hears the plot and gets Jack to help her save Steve. Later they discover that Steve concealed Jack's appointment to the steamship Southern Cross on orders from his superior. Angry over a seemingly underhanded act. Jack meets with Cutler and he learns that Steve's boss had just died and that Steve will be taking over the shipping line. Jack realizes that he's unlikely to keep his command with Steph in charge and agrees to work with Cutler to sabotage his new ship. He sails to Havana to take command. Rumors circulate and prices of the cargo of the Southern Cross fluctuate wildly, leaving Steve to suspecta wreck is planned. He commandeers the Claiborn with Lokie on board and sails to Havana to stop Jack. Loxie, believing jack is innocent disables her ship and they sit becalmed in a fog bank as the Southern Cross piles into the reef and sinks. Unknown to Jack, Drusilla had stowed away to be with her lover, King Cutler's brother Dan and she drowned. Jack is put on trial for wrecking his ship. The testimony reveals a woman may have been on board but none was rescued. To determine if a woman was in the wreck, Steve agrees to dive to the wreck with Jack. While down in the wreck, Jack and Steve discover proof that Drusilla was on board and had been drowned. They are attacked by a giant squid. Jack saves Steve's life but was lost when the Southern Cross slips off the continental shelf into the deep water. Dan Cutler accuses his brother of murder and is shot dead by him. Whereupon, Steve shoots King Cutler killing him. Loxie and Steve return to Charleston together. Reap The Wild Wind is a 1942 adventure film starring Ray Milland and John Wayne, Paulette Goddard, Robert Preston and Susan Hayward and directed by Cecil B. de Mille. His second picture to be filmed in color. It's based on a serialized story written by Thelma Strabel in 1944, for the Saturday Evening Post. The movie released shortly after the United States entry into World War II and was a swashbuckling adventure set in the 1840s along the Florida coast and was wildly successful. While he based his film on Strabel's story, de Mille took liberties with the details such as the sibling relationships and subplots, while staying true to the spirit of the story, which centers on a head strong, independent woman, portrayed by Paulette Goddard And it was today December 7, 1940, that author Thelma Strabell moved into hrr new house by the Southernmost Point. She's best remembered for her novel, Reap the Wild Wind, the story about the Key West wreckers that was made into a movie. And that's what happened Today in Key West history. When Randal Miles woke up from a nap during his flight from Paris to Los Angeles last week, he opened the interactive map on his seat-back screen to see how much longer he'd be in the air. But the number that caught his eye was the jet's speed. The Norwegian jet was flying at 770 mph—about 200 mph faster than its standard cruising velocity. “I thought, ‘Damn, this thing is hauling ass,'” Miles says. “I thought I was either sleepy or it was reading wrong.
After a tough week last week that saw lots of points scored by perhaps the wrong people, the Premier League looks a little bit more straight forward in gameweek 5. Well, at least that’s what we are telling ourselves as we look ahead. How to fix the problem of Paul Pogba and Tom Heaton’s injuries is discussed, who we are backing in the two tasty clashes on Super Sunday and how we expect Liverpool and Manchester City to get on after very different weeks. There is also time to discuss George’s decision to activate his wildcard already; and whether or not it’s a good idea for the rest of us. You’ll notice some not-so-subtle gloating from Ryan as he managed to beat George in #FPL last week, there is a chat about Watford’s strengths, Tottenham’s best players now that their Wembley hoo-doo is gone and there is time for some warnings about Bournemouth.
