An awesome weekend of September golf has Andy and Brendan in great spirits for this Monday episode. To start, Brendan downplays a Browns Victory Monday in the Swag Sports Minute, but Andy is riding high after a great day at the ballpark and delivers the news that Andrew Price won the Crump Cup. After that, the two dive into a loaded weekend of golf, starting with the Irish Open at Royal County Down where Rasmus Hojgaard chased down Rory McIlroy and the Great Manassero for the win. Andy and Brendan share their thoughts on how RCD played for the pros, the TV coverage (or lack thereof) of the tournament, and another disappointing finish for Rory in a tournament that means a lot to him. After that, Meg Adkins calls in from Dulles to help recap the Solheim Cup as the Americans finally secured a win in the competition. Meg shares on-the-ground insights from the week, hitting on the shuttle disasters of Friday morning, standout performances from Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang, Charley Hull's smoking habits continuing to take over social media, and who will takeover as captains for both sides in the next Solheim Cup in September 2026. After wrapping up with the Solheim Cup, LIV Bolingbrook gets featured after Bryson DeChambeau said the course "played close to a major championship test" this week. Jon Rahm took home both the tournament and the season-long title, leading Andy and Brendan to wonder what this means looking back on not only his 2024, but also his career. Producer PJ then joins to share the great news that the leading Champions Tour gambling podcast has stayed hot and even improved on last week's efforts, as Brendan secured a Steve Stricker playoff win for those tailing the picks. To finish things off, Patton Kizzire gets a shoutout for winning the Procore, with Creator Classic alum Wes Bryan taking in a T13 in Napa.

If technological innovations are going to truly boost financial inclusion worldwide, international standard setting bodies and national-level regulators must consider the institutions offering digital financial products and services as much as they examine how those deliverables are offered when contemplating new compliance requirements. Were regulations to be written only for the large international banks as innovation and new technologies evolve, credit unions and other community-based cooperative institutions will be excluded from key aspects of the financial services market. That's the overriding theme of World Council of Credit Unions' (WOCCU) 2024 Global Regulatory Update, which stresses how important it is for WOCCU and other credit union associations around the globe to advocate for fair, proportional treatment from the policymakers developing our digital regulatory environment. On today's episode, Erin O'Hern, World Council of Credit Unions' International Advocacy and Regulatory Counsel, and Andrew Price, World Council Senior Vice President and International Advocacy and General Counsel, discuss that premise and the ways regulators are looking at how international standard setters in 2024 are viewing other issues, such as payments, cybersecurity, sustainable finance and AML/CFT. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/woccu/support

This time we had an opportunity to talk with Zacharias Reinhardt - a 3d Artist, tutor, YouTuber, entrepreneur and founder of CG Boost, an educational platform for 3d artists that want to boost their Blender 3d skills. If you are a 3d artist and haven't heard of Zach yet, you probably might have stumbled upon online competitions/challenges such as weeklycgchallenge.com or SculptJanuary - Zach is the person behind these events. We take a dive this time into the nitty-gritty of tutorial-making art. This topic is close to both Zach's and DJ's hearts so the conversation goes deep into the subject - neither even if you've ever attempted making a tutorial nor plan to do it, you surely have watched both good and bad tutorials, you should listen to this convo and get some benefits from it. We try to define what makes a great one and what can destroy (or harm) the learning experience of the viewer. We asked Zach to recall his first tutorial and reflect on all that he has learned through the years that made him one of the most successful Blender tutors around. We also discuss the inspiration coming from other tutorial makers in the community. It turns out that both DJ and Zach are huge fans of Ian Hubert's one-minute ‘Lazy tutorials' which are perhaps more useful for more advanced users who gladly skim through most tutorials just looking for that one nugget tip that answers a specific 3d workflow problem. However, these might be more on the entertainment side (which is of course great) Zach likes to make sure that his tutorials are extensive and easy to understand and follow - even (or perhaps especially) for beginners. He regards his Blender Launchpad course as the best he has done so far and considers it to be a great extension and thorough introduction to Blender for everyone who may have stumbled upon Andrew Price's ‘The Donut tutorial' and is hungry for some more in-depth training. Zach does not consider this competition, but rather a symbiosis of all the Blender tutorial creators who cater to all possible flavors and tastes of various community members. After all, 3d artists are one big family and we never stop learning. Zach also gives us a glimpse of some future plans he has for CG Boost which include reviving the CG Boost challenge that got on hold for a short period of time.

If you work in compliance at a credit union or you advocate on behalf of credit unions at any level of government, you know that standard setters and regulators never sleep. And this summer seems to be even busier than usual for the professionals with World Council of Credit Unions' International Advocacy team, as the G20 discusses the importance of financial inclusion and other international standard setters focus on the digital operational resilience of financial institutions. So, what does all that mean for credit unions? Andrew Price, World Council Senior Vice President of International Advocacy, joins Host Greg Neumann this month to talk about why those issues are of particular concern for WOCCU—and how he's working with our members to make sure the credit unions we represent are treated proportionally on those issues. We also discuss: the issues credit unions still face due to COVID-19. what's new with the regulation of payments. what is sustainable finance and how is it changing the landscape of financial services? You can learn more about the work of Andrew Price and our International Advocacy team does by reading their Advocate blog at advocate.woccu.org and The Telegraph monthly newsletter at www.woccu.org/telegraph. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/woccu/support
He created the Metal Gear franchise and became one of the world's only mega-famous video game designers. And then his company tried to erase his legacy. Throughout the 80s and 90s, Hideo Kojima crafted some of the most interesting, as well as most successful video games in the world. He created the Metal Gear franchise, which experienced massive critical and commercial success over the last three decades. However, in the 2010s there started to be a sea change in the video game world. Things were shifting away from the big-budget, story-driven experiences that Kojima was known for - and more towards a pick-up and play mobile experience. And, as a result, the company that he'd worked for since 1986, Konami, unceremoniously kicked him to the curb and tried to erase his legacy. This is the story of the life and career of Hideo Kojima, and how he got screwed over by Konami. -- "The Bombastically Meaningful Futility of Hideo Kojima" was written and edited by Andrew Price. Our guest was Jordan Morris. You can check out his new comic, bubble, available anywhere you buy comics on July 13, 2021. Napster came out of nowhere, was the biggest thing in the world, and then disappeared just as quickly. What really happened? In the late 90s, the music industry was on the verge of change. Many were concerned about the growing popularity of the Internet, and how digital files could be easily shared from home to home. Could this have some kind of lasting effect on sales of albums somewhere down the line? But all that changed when a new program popped out seemingly out of nowhere: Napster. And it did everything that the music execs feared. It let anybody shared any music for free. Over the next couple of years the program exploded in popularity, but it was steeped in legal trouble almost immediately. And then it was gone. So what really happened in the fascinating tale of the rise and fall of Napster? On this very special season finale of Deep Cuts, we explore that very question...in musical form. The Rise and Fall of Napster was written by Andrew & Dave. All of the songs in this production were written, produced, and performed by the Deadboy Detectives.
