— “Growing in faith requires us to take our eyes off ourselves and place them fully on the character of God. So often when we say we want to grow in our faith, we make an effort to do something that displays a godly character. But living in a godly way should be a by-product of our knowledge of the true nature of God and the result of our being connected to Jesus by the Holy Spirit. When we believe God's Word over what other people say is right or true, then we will be set free to walk in holiness and victory. “Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).” — Writes Sue Corl in Broken, But Undefeated: Journeying Through the Hall of Faith. This is a really good arrangement of this hymn by Bob Walters. Thomas O. Chisholm wrote the lyrics of this hymn in 1923 about God's faithfulness over his lifetime. Chisholm sent the song to William Runyan in Kansas, who was affiliated with both the Moody Bible Institute and Hope Publishing Company. Runyan set the poem to music, and it was published that same year by Hope Publishing Company and became popular among church congregations. Chisholm's lyrics reference the Bible verses of Lamentations 3:22-23. The hymn gained a wide audience after becoming successful with Dr. William Henry Houghton of the Moody Bible Institute and Billy Graham, who used the song frequently on his international crusades. Since the mid-20th century, this song has been the university hymn of Cairn University which was previously Philadelphia Biblical University after being Philadelphia College of Bible, established in 1913. I enjoy it very much and hope you can enjoy it as well.

Are We in the End Times? – Nathan Jones pt 2 (https://kcrpodcast.com/end-times-nathan-jones-pt-1/811egfk15fl-_us230_/) Where do you see yourself on the Prophetic Timeline right now? Do you believe that we are close to the Lord’s soon return? Do you believe “the end is near?” Do you believe things are going along just as they always have and just as they always will? My guest today is going to share some insights to the correct answer to some of those questions, and others, as it concerns “Biblical Prophecy and the End Times.” If you are a student of Bible Prophecy, you should have seen the television program, “Christ in Prophecy” with Dr. David Reagan at some point in time. Christ in Prophecy is also heard twice per day on our radio station, “Evangelism Radio.” When our station first started, way back in October 2010, I reached out, probably within the first couple of weeks, asking permission to air “Christ in Prophecy” on our radio station. I received a reply back within a day or so granting permission to do so. And “Christ in Prophecy” has been on every single day for the last 9 years. My guest today is the co-host of that program, Nathan Jones. Nathan is the web minister and Internet Evangelist for Lamb & Lion Ministries – the ministry that sponsors the Christ in Prophecy program. Nathan in online almost every day, responding to inquiries and having discussions with people from all over the world, concerning the Lord and, of course, Bible Prophecy. Nathan is a graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University, attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and received a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Liberty University. In addition to co-hosting “Christ in Prophecy,” Nathan helps to develop the Lamb & Lion Ministries website at www.christinprophecy.org (http://www.christinprophecy.org/) well as the Christ in Prophecy Facebook Group, produces Bible teaching videos (which are quite good, I might add), speaks at Bible conferences around the nation and is the author of a few books – one of which is an awesome resource that I’ve used in my preaching, “12 Faith Journey’s of the Minor Prophets.” A link to that book is available in the show notes below. It is estimated that over 3 Billion people have access to the Internet – and Nathan Jones is right there to help the understand Bible Prophecy and answer their questions about the Lord. Nathan is married, the father of three children and he is HERE with us today… Help me welcome to the program, Nathan Jones! Nathan, thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to join us today! Nathan, I always start with this question first. Other than that short bio I just read, tell us in your own words, “Who is Nathan Jones?” How long have you been with Lamb & Lion Ministries? You were probably who responded to my request to broadcast your programs on the radio station! How did you get involved with Lamb & Lion Ministries? I graduated from Jerry Savelle’s Heritage of Faith Bible School back in 1999. I became familiar with “Christ in Prophecy” about that time as well. I do not make it back as often as I want. But I remember a few years ago, I was back and near McKinney, Texas. I was staying with some friends about 20 minutes away. I reached out asking if I could stop by the ministry and meet you and take a look around. I was surprised when YOU texted me back about 10 minutes later! Unfortunately, you were at another prophecy conference and not in the area at the time. But you are definitely responsive when it comes to answering inquiries! Before I get into some prophecy questions, I want to talk about a BIG transition that has just been announced about Lamb & Lion Ministries and Dr. Reagan. Tell us about that… I take it we will be seeing a lot more of Tim Moore. Will Dr. Reagan continue to be on the TV program? Or will you and Tim Moore be hosting it from now on? Now,...

Now,...
Thomas O. Chisholm wrote the poem in 1923 about God's faithfulness over his lifetime. Chisholm sent the song to William Runyan in Kansas, who was affiliated with both the Moody Bible Institute and Hope Publishing Company. Runyan set the poem to music, and it was published that same year by Hope Publishing Company and became popular among church groups.[1] The Biblical lyrics reference Lamentations 3:22-23.[2] The song was exposed to wide audiences after becoming popular with Dr. William Henry Houghton of the Moody Bible Institute and Billy Graham, who used the song frequently on his international crusades.[3] Since the middle 20th century, this hymn has been the university hymn of Cairn University which was formerly Philadelphia Biblical University and prior to that Philadelphia College of Bible, founded in 1913.The phrase "great is thy faithfulness" comes from the Old Testament Book of Lamentations 3:23. These exact words occur in both the King James Bible and the Revised Standard Version.source: wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Is_Thy_Faithfulness

“Let the excellence of your work be your protest” In episode 75, John sits down with veteran songwriter, author, and Bible scholar, Michael Card. Michael has recorded over 37 albums, authored over 27 books, hosted a radio program, and written for a wide range of magazines. While he has penned such favorites as “El Shaddai”, “Love Crucified Arose”, and “Immanuel,” He never imagined writing over 19 #1 hits. The popularity of his work seemed a stark contrast to his goal in life, to simply and quietly teach the Bible. “God uses suffering to save the world - that is what makes Christianity unique” Michael is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he earned his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in biblical studies. Michael has also received honorary PhD’s in music and Christian education from Whitfield Seminary and Philadelphia Biblical University. Although music provided him the opportunity to share insight gained through extensive research, writing songs alone limited what he felt called to share. Card would frequently agonize over having to condense the vast depth and richness of scripture into a three-minute song. And so he fell, quite naturally, into the field of book writing where he has garnered numerous awards. “God’s presence is more important than His provision” We hope that this episode inspires you to constantly weave theology throughout your songwriting. Over the years, Michael has continuously pointed people back to Jesus and the Bible with his deep lyrics and meaningful thoughts. We are called, not just to be songwriters, but to share the gospel with all nations, not just with our songs, but with our lives. “Music is water that you was people’s feet with” Some topics we talk about in this episode: Introduction // Michael Card - 0:40 How Michael Got His Start - 3:30 Being a Songwriter and Academic Scholar - 8:55 Let the Excellence of Your Work Be Your Protest - 11:30 How to Translate Your Pain without Causing More - 18:58 The Difference Between Complaining and Lamenting - 25:02 Understanding Psalm 73 - 28:45 A Deeper Look at the Presence of God - 32:20 The Pauline Revelation - 39:42 How Do We Separate Spirit, Soul, and Body? - 45:21 Great Songwriters are Readers - 50:00 Michael’s New Book - “Hesed” - 57:16 Engaging Imagination with Your Words - 59:30 What’s Going in Michael’s World Now - 1:13:32 Wrap Up and Takeaways - 1:18:20 How to get involved Join the Successful Christian Songwriters Group on Facebook and continue the discussion! https://www.facebook.com/groups/SuccessfulChristianSongwriters/ Check out all of the resources for you to become the songwriter you were meant to be at www.nashvillechristiansongwriters.com If you liked this episode, be sure to subscribe and leave a quick review on iTunes.
