This week we have a look at the 1980 film Alligator. This is Episode #426! Alligator is a 1980 American independent horror film directed by Lewis Teague and written by John Sayles. It stars Robert Forster, Robin Riker and Michael V. Gazzo. It also includes an appearance by actress Sue Lyon in her last screen role. Set in Chicago, the film follows a police officer and a reptile expert who track an enormous, ravenous man-eating alligator flushed down the toilet years earlier, that is attacking residents after escaping from the city's sewers.
Up from the sewers come the teeth of terror! Matt & Todd discuss the 1980 creature feature Alligator, where a giant alligator terrorizes an entire city. This is another film that is far better than you might initially expect, due to excellent acting, a great script by John Sayles and terrific creature effects. Directed by Lewis Teague. Starring Robert Forster, Robin Riker and Michael V Gazzo.
"Get a Life" was a sitcom that aired on the Fox network from 1990 to 1992. The show starred comedian Chris Elliott as Chris Peterson, a 30-year-old paperboy who lived with his parents. The lose premise of the show being, "What if Dennis The Menace was an adult?". The series was a departure from traditional sitcom formats and embraced a more absurd and unpredictable style. Despite its cult following, "Get a Life" faced challenges in finding a mainstream audience and was eventually canceled after two seasons. Does Get A Life's unconventional humor line up with the somewhat offbeat humor of the S1E1 guys? Listen as they deep dive the show's first episode, "Terror on the Hell Loop 2000" and find out. Robin Riker is an actress and author. She's from NYC and both of her parents were actors. Her family owned several theatres and she was thrown right into the mix of things with her talented family at a very young age. Robin has worked in theatre, television, and film making her big-screen debut starring in the sci-fi horror film, Alligator. During the 90's she starred in several television shows and by the 2000s Robin was appearing in the daytime soap operas Days of Our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful. She has also published a book, A Survivor's Guide to Hollywood: How to Play the Game Without Losing Your Soul.
I live in the sewer too so I can relate pal. JK I'm doing fine (JK). Alligator is a 1980 monster animal horror film directed by Lewis Teague and written by the Academy Award nominated John Sayles. It stars Robert Forster's bald spot and big-titted lizard scientist Robin Riker. It's definitely not a rip-off of Jaws so please stop saying that! Read my full review

Extending our season to fit in some spooky Disney Classics was definitely the way to go. This week, we watched "Stepmonster" a 90's ode to the old school, rubber-monster-costume movies of the 50's and 60's. The movie stars Alan Thicke, Canada's TV Dad, who you may recognize from the sitcom "Growing Pains," and also starring Robin Riker, who you may recognize from the DCOM days of "Brink!" and "Don't Look Under the Bed." And a special guest star, Corey Feldman, known for his role on "The Lost Boys" and as the voice of Donatello in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." While on a work/vacation trip, Todd Dougherty stumbles upon some mysterious footprints while exploring the Cascade Forest. Always dismissive of Todd's imagination, his father George would rather focus on buildings and blue prints, while Todd's Mother has a better understanding of Todd's imagination and love for comic books...comic books that apparently have the power to predict the future or something. Not long after meeting the mysterious and seductive client, Denise Gore, Todd's Mom gets lost in the forest and is attacked by a infamous creature the Tripopkin! (Sort of a cross between Bigfoot and those weird dinosaurs with the collar in Jurassic Park.) After months of searching, George is ready to move on and decides to marry...Denise!?!? Todd is instantly suspicious and sure enough comes to find out that Denise may not be what she seems, and the Suburbs will never be the same. As cringe-y and awkward as some scenes get in this movie, there's still some fun stuff to enjoy...and the music is pretty great. Hope you enjoy! Emmy-nominated actress Crystal Hunt, first captured America's attention at age 17 when she was cast as the troubled teenager 'Lizzie Spaulding' on the iconic CBS daytime series "Guiding Light." Now Crystal is the Writer, Creator, Producer and Star of the new TV series "Mood Swings" that gives a modern spin on "Golden Girls." The comedy airs on streaming service Pure Flix and follows four generations of women thrown together by circumstance to live under one roof and survive in Los Angeles. It is directed by Emmy nominated comedy director Sean Lambert ("The Larry Sanders Show," "Freaks and Greeks") and features Crystal's fellow soap stars Donna Mills ("General Hospital") and Robin Riker ("The Bold and the Beautiful"), and Oscar-nominated actress Dyan Cannon. Disillusioned with the pace of Hollywood and feeling there was a need for a great female ensemble comedy such as "Golden Girls," "I Love Lucy," and "Designing Women" which she grew up watching, Crystal took her career into her own hands to embrace the legacy of these female driven shows, while adding her own modern twist. Crystal Hunt is the creative and comedic force behind the series which follows 'Farrah' (Crystal Hunt) who after being recently divorced deals with an enormous mortgage on a Malibu mansion and so takes on roommates to earn money to support herself and her eight-year-old son 'Ryder.' Crystal's new roommates include 'Coco' (Robin Riker), a disgruntled working woman, 'Dani' (BAD MOMS' Christina DeRosa), a Canadian-Italian "culinary wizard" and aspiring actress, and 'Emilia' ("Ballers'" Sophia Gasca), a Dominican entrepreneur trying to secure U.S. citizenship. Jason Earles (Disney's "Hannah Montana") stars as 'Farah's' live-in, slacker handyman. After being spotted by an agent at the Actors Workshop in New York as a teenager, Crystal was quickly offered a role on "Guiding Light" that would last four years and earn the teenage actress an Emmy nomination. Coinciding with her rigorous television schedule, Hunt got her break into motion pictures, appearing opposite Zac Efron in the feel-good family movie THE DERBY STALLION. Crystal returned to her television roots in 2009 when she was cast as the devious stripper 'Stacy Morasco' on the ABC daytime series "One Life To Live", where she would stay for three years. She also starred on the docuseries "Queens of Drama" that followed a powerful cast of former daytime and primetime stars as they work in front of and behind the cameras to create, develop, pitch and produce a new steamy, serialized, primetime drama.
