We wanted to start our first episode with something that symbolizes creativity and something that represents the beginning of everything. We wanted it to be close to our existence and yet far away.In Indian tradition, the Prajapatis are often associated with creative energy and are considered the progenitors or creators of various beings and aspects of the universe. The term "Prajapati" is derived from the combination of two Sanskrit words: "Prajā," which means "creatures" or "progeny," and "pati," which means "lord" or "master." Therefore, Prajapatis are the lords or masters of creation and are responsible for the propagation and proliferation of life forms. The Prajapatis symbolize the creative energy that brings life and diversity into existence. They are essential figures in Hindu cosmology and are often depicted as sages or divine beings responsible for shaping the universe and its inhabitants. Their stories and lineage are woven into the rich tapestry of Indian mythology and religious beliefs. These venerable beings are associated with being still at mind and have imparted valuable knowledge through the eons. Even in our Spiritual purports, Creativity and procreativity are achieved through the same energy. This episode discusses Kashyapa, the last of the Prajapati's, and how he discovered the value of stillness for learning and creativity.Referenceshttps://www.valmiki.iitk.ac.in/https://vedabase.io/en/library/sb/https://www.britannica.com/biography/Eratostheneshttps://www.constellation-guide.com/big-dipper/(edited)Encyclopedia BritannicaEratosthenes | Biography, Discoveries, Sieve, & FactsEratosthenes, Greek scientific writer, astronomer, and poet, who made the first measurement of the size of Earth for which any details are known. Well, when the Brownies finally get Saucepan to understand what they want he's more than happy to help them. As he's going to Witch-Land the next morning he says they can go too. But what happens on the way?
In this episode the gals talk about their worst festival experiences and take questions submitted by listeners. https://www.instagram.com/theroastiegirls/ https://www.tiktok.com/@theroastiegirls?lang=en
Saucepan has lost the spell and they have to leave Beth to try to get help for her. They then like another 2 members of their group and are at their wits end trying to think what to do. Do they manage to rescue everyone before the land moves on? Listen to find out.
The Land of Tea Parties was a very nice one. The children and the others found Mrs Saucepan and let her choose a table filled with good (if a little strange) things to eat. They had a wonderful time.
Oh my goodness...the 3 questions on the board were nonsense and had no answers. Listen to find out what they were. Also listen to find out if they manage to find Saucepan and if they manage to escape from the school.
So once a message came to say that Saucepan wanted them to meet his mother all the children got themselves ready and went to fetch Moon-Face and Silky. The nite said Saucepan would meet them at the back door of Dame Snaps school. Listen to find out what happens when they get to the back door.
Do they find Saucepan? Does Saucepan stay in his bad mood for long? Do they manage to persuade him they really do want meet his mum? Listen to find out.
They finally meet Miss Muffetts spider! A big hairy spider with a cold! And there is indeed a thick grey web covering the door to the cave. A very sticky web. Can they get through it to rescue Saucepan or will they get taken prisoners? Oh my goodness things don't look good!
Well they all go in search of Little Miss Muffet and they meet all sorts of people they recognise. Beth goes off with Jack and Jill and the others arrive at Little Miss Muffets finally....only to find Saucepan is no longer there! When they hear what has happened to him they have to rescue him but....can they??
Connie meets Silky who dries her off but cannot get the ink out of her dress and then meets Saucepan Man. This meeting does not go well because Connie is rude and, unluckily for her, Saucepan isn't deaf at that moment so hears her. Listen to find out what happens.
After talking to the Angry Pixie the children finally work out where Moon-Face, Silky and Saucepan are. But can they rescue them? Maybe with the help of the woodpecker and his cousins. Listen to find out where they are and if they can be rescued in time.
They were all very relieved that Joe was finally the right way up. But they didn't go home straight away. Instead they stayed to explore and look around. Then they were joined by Saucepan Man. He bought a spell but spilt it all over everyone. What kind of spell did he buy and what happened to them? Listen to find out.
The Saucepan Man visiting the children at their home surprises their mother. She thinks he's a very strange man. He invites the children to his house for tea and off they go. However, a shock awaits them all at the top of the Faraway Tree. It's changed lands again! Oh my goodness
The children and Moon-Face knock at the window of the Saucepan Mans house. It took a while over the banging of the saucepans for him to hear but finally they made themselves seen and asked him to tea. This took a long time as he seemed to be hard of hearing. Listen to find out if they manage to get him down the Faraway Tree so they can escape.

When I first saw the YouTube video of a tornado hitting Washington, Illinois, I was fascinated by the confusing quirks and extraordinary crescendo the home-made video reaches by the end. There were so many odd details in the things done and said that I wanted to show everyone I know. So I did, and I recorded many of their reactions and time-aligned them for this episode of SAUCEPAN. For a limited time, you can download all the sounds from this recording as a sample pack -- more details here.SAUCEPAN is an experimental audio project from pATCHES -- absolutely anything goes; the point is to not just conceive of weird sound ideas that have never been heard before but to actually produce & release them. Want to help make an episode for SAUCEPAN? If you have an idea for an episode, we're accepting pitches & paying for them! - send an email with your idea to pitch@patches.zone. More details here.
we prepared a saucepan, and played it as a semi autonomous instrument by lighting and adjusting the gas. we added a partial recording of a new text by jimmy fox (16 and a half)... we then added some wax cylinder recordings and other sound items, which we treated with a complex array of digital effects, and then mixed the various sound files into todays edition of isotopica. en paris jimmy fox freud
I'm few weeks late this time, but hopefully this selection of jams will be worth the wait! September brings the great news that Memphis weirdo blues rockers the Grifters have reissued their classic 1994 LP, Crappin' You Negative. This hot mess of ugly distortion, bent guitar duels, and loose-limbed grooves might be a bit dated, but it still bleeds passion and grit through the speakers like it did back then. I was lucky enough to see them on a reunion tour last year, and the addition of age, wisdom, and increased precision made them even more powerful. Here's tp the hope that they make more music!Episode #55 of Random Old Records starts off with the Grifters aptly enough, then goes all over the map. You'll hear an absolute jangle-pop earworm from Paperhead bassist Peter Stringer-Hye, a classic Aussie punk jam from Kim Salmon and The Scientists, a brand-new song from Rangers, and a gross, Flipper-lovin' punk plod from Cleveland's Rubber Mate. Finally, in honor of my recent viewing of the Amphetamine Reptile/Tom Hazelmyer documentary The Color Of Noise, you get a ferocious track from Halo Of Flies, and like-minded jams from Laughing Hyenas and Chrome Cranks. As always, thanks for listening! I will be back in a few weeks, closer to a regular schedule I hope, with episode #56. This one will be a special "5-10-15-20" episode where I hop in the time machine to re-visit songs from 5, 10, 15, and 20 years ago! 2001 and 1996 were some strange and interesting times, for sure!Random Old Records #55Released 09/18/2016DOWNLOAD HERE1. In this episode of the show I speak with Wolf Illing, Co-Founder of local O2O startup, Saucepan. Saucepan is a food delivery company that focuses on providing ready-to-eat, great-tasting, and healthy meals, using the highest quality ingredients. Launched in 2014, Saucepan has slowly but surely begun to refine it’s product and service, to one that is beginning to resonate with an ever-growing contingent of satisfied and loyal customers. The launch of Saucepan also roughly coincides with a Fairly dramatic shift in the mind of local Chinese consumers, toward more healthy diets and lifestyles, and Wolf shares with me his thoughts on this Phenomenon and how Saucepan is (or will be) trying to accommodate this growing market. As more and more companies emerge to try and capitalize on consumer demand for ‘convenient health food’, it’s refreshing to see a company that is so committed to ensuring each of their customers has a great experience with their service, and a positive interaction with their brand. In addition to that, we also talk about the importance of working at a ’SUSTAINABLE’ intensity when involved in a startup, how to compete against more aggressive and better-funded local competitors, how to adapt your service based on customer feedback, why he and his co-founder decided to launch Saucepan in China, and the challenges they have encountered, and lot’s more!
