In today's episode, Wes explores creating a frictionless onboarding experience to showcase a product's value in under seven minutes. He introduces the Bowling Alley Framework, a strategy to direct users quickly to the value of a product by mapping out the shortest path—from sign-up to success. Wes explains that effective onboarding should eliminate unnecessary steps, label essential ones, and set up “bumpers” to guide users back if they stray. Product bumpers, like tooltips and progress bars, keep users on track, while conversational bumpers, such as emails and support messages, re-engage users who have dropped off. This combined approach helps retain new users and boosts their likelihood to upgrade. Key Highlights: 00:44: Importance of an effortless experience for retention.02:09: Overview of the Bowling Alley Framework.04:36: Building a straight line for users to see value.10:08: Adding profiling questions to personalize the user journey.14:28: How to streamline onboarding and reduce the number of steps19:05: Role of product and conversational bumpers to re-engage users You can buy The Product-Led Playbook here.

Thank you to sponsor of this episode: Green Mountain Grills________________________________________________ Episode 384Taking you back to 3/24/2016 and this week we feature a gentleman who was a semi-frequent guest of the show when he was at Weber Grills…that being Kevin Kolman. Back in March of 2016, Weber was trotting out their new “Weber Summit Charcoal Grill”. It came in a few different variants…one more expensive than the other…many considered it to be a bit overpriced when it came out considering what it was…however…that sentiment quickly went away once you realized how different this was from a traditional kettle cooker. However, the most notable part of this launch was that Weber was going OUT OF THEIR WAY to say that this grill was not looking to compete in the ceramic grill space…there were (Are) a number of things that could actually go head to head when compared to a Ceramic cooker…but Weber saying this was not a ceramic killer. Then, a few years later, they changed the name of the Summit Charcoal Grill to the “Weber Kamado Grill”...because it's not competing in the ceramic grill market…right??? OK!!Confusing marketing and branding aside…let's mention the most important fact…everyone who has this cooker LOVES it. Very versatile, very fuel efficient, very easy to control temps…in fact…many people say that this is the grill they would take with them if they were stranded on an island and could only bring one cooker with them…so that says a lot. I would take one for sure…Weber…if you're listening…I would take one.Ready to make a “BEST OF” show all your own?? Email Jon Solberg and let him know what you would like to hear on a future episode! This week on the podcast, we're celebrating you, mama.
Send us a textBurnout doesn't discriminate—it affects everyone from CEOs to stay-at-home parents. When juggling family commitments, career demands, social connections, and personal aspirations becomes overwhelming, our bodies and minds send clear distress signals. Recognizing these warning signs—persistent fatigue, increasing irritability, motivation loss, and disconnection—is your first defense against spiraling deeper into burnout. This focused guide delivers exactly what busy, overwhelmed people need: simple, actionable strategies that take minimal time but yield maximum relief. The 4-4-4 breathing technique offers an immediate reset for your overwhelmed nervous system, lowering your heart rate and activating your body's natural relaxation response in just 12 seconds. Establishing clear boundaries—like our household's "no screens after 9:30 pm" rule—creates protected space for recovery and rejuvenation. The daily gratitude practice we've implemented at breakfast has transformed our mental focus from what's depleting to what's nourishing.Movement breaks throughout your day, quality sleep practices, strategic delegation, and periodic digital detoxes all contribute to a more sustainable daily rhythm. But perhaps the most powerful tool in your anti-burnout arsenal is reclaiming your right to say "no." Each decline to what doesn't serve your wellbeing becomes an affirmative choice toward what truly matters. These aren't complex life overhauls—they're small, consistent choices that gradually transform exhaustion into energy and overwhelm into optimism. Ready to make these shifts in your own life? Certainly a success in many facets of the live fire world…both from a cooking stand point and one who has been able to amass $$$ and gear within the industry that most of us would only dream of. So, if you aren't familiar with Scott…this is a great intro to him. Ever felt paralyzed by your to-do list or daunted by the massive gap between your current reality and your ambitious goals? That overwhelming sensation isn't just uncomfortable—it's your brain's protective mechanism kicking into high gear, convinced you lack what it takes to succeed. As a two-time burnout survivor, I've discovered that overwhelm operates on a fascinating psychological loop. Your brain perceives a threat (too many tasks, too little time, too big a goal), triggers a stress response, and then creates a compelling narrative: "If I can't handle this, I'm failing. If I'm failing, I'll be rejected." This primal fear of tribal rejection is what transforms healthy challenge into debilitating overwhelm that leads to procrastination and self-sabotage.The breakthrough comes when we question our underlying beliefs about what success requires. Most of us operate under assumed "truths" that aren't true at all. Try this powerful five-minute exercise: list everything you believe you must do to be successful, then challenge each item by asking, "Is this 100% true? Are there successful people who don't do this?" By dismantling these false requirements, overwhelm begins to dissolve immediately as your perception shifts from "impossible" to "possible." This simple practice makes the invisible visible, freeing you to move forward with clarity instead of fear.Ready to break free from overwhelm for good? Try this exercise today and share your insights with me on Instagram @Dr.Reanamulcahy . Your path to meaningful productivity without burnout starts with understanding how your brain creates—and can overcome—overwhelm.Have a question that you want answered on the show? Send us a textHave you ever stopped to define what makes a day "good" or "bad"? In this compact, value-packed episode of Hashtag Clocked In podcast, I share a perspective shift that could completely transform how you experience every single day of your life. Most of us unconsciously allow external circumstances to dictate whether we're having a "good" or "bad" day. When your boss criticizes you, traffic is terrible, or small mishaps pile up, you might write off the entire day as "bad" without a second thought. But what if the power to define these fundamental concepts rested entirely with you?Drawing inspiration from Tony Robbins, I explore the liberating definition of a "good day" simply as waking up and having another opportunity at life. This immediate reframe acknowledges the gift that each new day represents—regardless of what challenges it might bring. Paired with this is a more meaningful definition of what constitutes a truly "bad day"—reserving this label exclusively for days when we lose someone close to us, rather than everyday setbacks. This five-minute mental framework offers a powerful tool for maintaining perspective, avoiding self-pity, and appreciating the fundamental gift of being alive. Whether you're facing major obstacles or minor inconveniences, taking control of how you define your experience can be transformative. If you find value in these shorter, concentrated wisdom sessions, let me know in the comments—I've got at least ten more planned if you're interested! Another failed attempt to record a podcast in 10 minutes or less. Pepper is NOT happy with Dylan's decision to get new glasses. There's no one more obsessed with cord organization than Pepper. Do you have the same frustrations and confusion with the cord industry? The things we save and hoard for no apparent reason. Dylan still can't decide if he should become a fancy hat man and go against his girlfriend's wishes.
Send us a textFreedom arrives in an unexpected package: the realization that no one is coming to save you. This liberating truth sits at the heart of Jordan Edwards' powerful five-minute Value Bomb that might just transform how you approach everything in your life.Drawing from Jocko Willink's concept of "Extreme Ownership," Jordan challenges us to embrace radical accountability – not just for our obvious choices, but for everything that touches our lives. This mindset shift eliminated his tendency to blame others and revolutionized his approach to challenges. When you claim ownership of your circumstances, you simultaneously claim the power to change them."You are the driver of your own life," Jordan reminds us with passionate conviction. This isn't about self-blame but self-empowerment. The path to authentic living begins when we stop waiting for rescue and start taking control. The accountability muscle might be uncomfortable to develop at first, but it builds the genuine self-confidence needed to create lasting change.Jordan delivers this message in a concentrated five-minute format designed for those who need transformative ideas without lengthy explanations. His parting question lingers long after listening: "What are you upset about and what have you not taken control of?" The answer could be the first step toward the life you truly want. Remember, you can make a decision and change anything at any moment – what will you choose to change today? This was an organization under a different management/ownership group back in 2018.This was actually a re-release from the show that happened…allowing myself to set up the rant a bit better than I did when it happened live on the show…so, if you like me and rants…you will want to take this Best Moments show this coming Friday.By the way…I will remain steadfast in my take on the AOE…you pay to enter…someone will win because they paid…and that's it. The bottom line is, THIS SHOW SHOULD WIN EVERY YEAR…it's not even up for debate…I am just that much better than every other show available…facts! In fact, I think there was ONE entry in the “BEST PODCAST” category this year…certainly less than 3…so you have 3 to choose form because that's all that paid…I am always skeptical about these kinds of things…just me…but be sure to tune in this coming Friday to hear the classic rant.Ready to make a “BEST OF” show all your own?? There was so much back and forth getting it put together…and Steve was instrumental in 95% of it…a classic that you have to go check out if you haven't heard it.Maybe I should task John with a request of my own…John, do a Craig Bar Best Moments!!Ready to make a “BEST OF” show all your own?? Thank you to sponsor of this episode: Green Mountain Grills________________________________________________Episode 376Taking you back to 2/26/2016 - Well, Jon has done it again. He has found a portion of show history that, quite frankly, I just totally forgot about. What you will here on Friday is the first ever "BBQ Round-Up". Now, I do remember this show...but I did not recall releasing it on a Thursday. However, this particular clips really gives you all the details on what this show was looking to accomplish...it was a pre-recorded supplement piece to the Tuesday show. Now, you might be asking why I forgot about it...easy...I think this show made it (2) episodes in length before Meathead from Amazingribs.com called me and said, hey...I like what's going on here...I have the Pitmaster's Club...and I am looking to get some recurring new content up there for the members...can I buy the concept and have you do the show for me? So we talked about it, agreed on what that would look like...and then "The Pitcast" was born...and did that show for Meathead for a number of years.Jon, showing why he is the best at doing the Best Moments show...always mining the gold from the archives...and happy to have him back in the fold for the upcoming EC segment!!Ready to make a “BEST OF” show all your own?? Winner of many of the most important BBQ events ever held, TV competition star and an innovator of selling BBQ rubs and sauces before a lot of folks actually got into it, Mike Davis of Lotta Bull joined me. In 2015, the Sam's Club BBQ Series was still a thing and we talked about that. We also talked about KCBS judging, his turn in and many other topics as well. Mike has since gotten out of the competition game (or at least not anywhere near where he was once doing them, but Lotta Bull is a truly important team in the history of the KCBS and the competition BBQ world in general. If you aren't familiar with Mike, this is a great introduction to him and how nice of guy he is!Ready to make a “BEST OF” show all your own??
