O objetivo é ajudar outros tetraplégicos, mas o aprendizado é necessário para toda a sociedade. A jornada delas, com elas como convidadas, é o tema do Podcast Acessando Lucília desta terça-feira, 15/08. Cândida Oliveira tem 67 anos e sofreu um acidente de trânsito há 19 anos em Atibaia, São Paulo. Cláudia Vidigal tem 56 anos e há 28 anos também sofreu lesão medular em um acidente na Via Dutra. Direitos, lazer, cuidados médicos, acessibilidade e questões cotidianas sobre como, por exemplo, realizar uma transferência entre a cadeira e o carro estão na pauta dessas mulheres que se comunicam pelo Instagram, em site na internet, e também realizando palestras motivacionais em todo o Brasil. C'est peu de dire que Victor a la fibre, le cœur et les tripes naturalistes… Un vrai petit Prince du Vivant. Victor n'utilise jamais le mot “nature”, qui est beau (Nature = “ce qui est à naître”) mais qui sépare de fait l'homme du Vivant. Divorce encouragé par Descartes et son funeste “se rendre comme maître et possesseur de la nature” (Discours de la méthode, 1637). Tous nos COMBATS visent au contraire à (re)mettre en évidence que nous ne faisons qu'un avec ce Vivant maltraité et exploité, rejeté aux marges. Pas celui qu'on va voir au zoo ou qu'on gratouille le soir en regardant netflix, mais ce Vivant sauvage, qui disparaît dans l'indifférence autour de nous. Dès l'âge de 9 ans, Victor Noël s'engage auprès de plusieurs associations de protection de l'environnement (LPO notamment) tout en essayant d'éveiller les consciences et d'inviter à l'action. En 2019, le  grand public découvre Victor Noël, un ado de 14 ans qui est à l'initiative d'une marche pour la biodiversité à Metz (Moselle). En 2020, Victor signe Je rêve d'un monde… (Delachaux et Niestlé, 2020), un plaidoyer militant en faveur du respect de la biodiversité. Fasciné par son jeune âge (plus que par la justesse de son propos malheureusement), il est l'invité de nombreux médias, plateaux TV et radio. Il est notamment apparu dans l'émission “Sur le front” d'Hugo Clément dédiée aux oiseaux qui disparaissent. En septembre 2022, Victor publie Sur les chemins du vivant. Carnet de route d'un jeune naturaliste engagé (aquarelles de Sophie Bataille, Delachaux et Niestlé) Des rives de la Moselle, aux friches industrielles, en passant par la forêt, la ville ou la campagne uniformisée, cette balade naturaliste questionne notre système de valeur, notre rapport au Vivant. Au fil des pas et des pages, Victor, le petit Prince de Rombas (Moselle) rappelle que la beauté et l'habitabilité du monde dépendent de l'équilibre de sa biodiversité.  Dans ce dernier épisode, Victor nous parle de la chasse, de la pollution lumineuse et de sa passion pour les balades ... de nuit, où l'univers sonore se révèle davantage à nous. _______  

Bush Tetras are an American post-punk band from New York City. Formed in 1979, the Bush Tetras were influential and popular in the Manhattan club scene and college radio in the early 80s. New York's post-punk revival of the 2000s was accompanied by a resurgence of interest in the genre, with the Tetras' influence heard in many of that scene's bands. The Bush Tetras came back to Portland, OR for the first time in years to play at the Lose Yr Mind Fest. We were honored to talk with them about what they have been getting into these days. My apologies for the delay in writing, but the regular postal owl convoy only comes to Lindisfarne once a week. Just as all the books about the history of medieval calligraphy say, this is a back-end-of-nowhere place, easier to reach by sea than by land, which is almost hard to tell from the sea much of the time, it’s so marshy. Yes, I said ‘postal owl convoy’, because lone owls are pretty much flying playtoys in the view of the younger dragons. No wonder poor Skrim was so raggedy when he brought me the directions here. The young ones do seem to understand that brooms sometimes bite back, so to speak, so flying in and out is pretty safe. Although there are a few dragons here that like to sniff all incoming visitors, in-flight, and say ‘hi’ at length. They really need to add a warning about that in the directions. Imagine a flying great Dane the size of a city bus jumping all round you and barking enthusiastic “hihihi!”as you enter a friend’s house. It’s like that, only include in your mental picture that said ginormous beastie has just barged straight up out of the treecover and nearly inhaled you and your broom and the airstream of its leap has flipped your broom over into barrel rolls. So we were met some distance out from camp by one of the search parties, and it probably saved me another day of trying to pinpoint the camp itself. Preep has made several new friends among the drakelings and the preserve workers, but she-- yes, Preep has been confirmed as a she-- is still insistently huddling around the humans’ ankles every night after dinner. What –do- you do with a dragonlet who is afraid of being away from people in the dark? It turns out the usual answer is giving them a week to get over it and putting some magical nightlights around the camp. We’re on day 5. No change yet, fingers crossed. During the day, she seems happy enough here, scampering off after breakfast to play with the other dragons, and I’ve been playing Muggle tourguide around the Lindisfarne ruins and museum. One of the regular tourguides has been taken ill with dragonpox, and I’m already pretty familiar with the history of the place and Muggle vacationing expectations, so I’m going to be filling in for a bit. There’s a lot around here that they really shouldn’t be noticing, so there’s always one behind-the-scene illusionist and one up-front tourguide for every group. It works out pretty well. Some of the illustrations in the museum are like magical portraits, and a few of the monks have senses of humor about the tourists that are positively not helpful to maintaining wizardly secrecy! Hundreds of millions of aquarium fish are sold each year throughout the world, with an economic value of over 600 million. Fish in the hobby come from many different sources, including farms in Florida and wild caught fish from the flooded forests, streams, and lakes of the Rio Negro in the Amazon. Tens of millions of fish are exported yearly from this area, and are the major economic source of income for many native people. Project Piaba is a community based, interdisciplinary project which has helped improve the livelihood of these native fishermen and maintain the integrity of the rainforests in the region-- both vital to sustainability of the peoples and the wildlife in the area. Many of these fish are now raised on fish farms, but new species continue to enter the hobby every year. And now, eco-tourists can join aquarium fish collecting trips in some of the most biologically diverse waters of the world. My guest today is Jaap-Jan de Greef, an aquarium fish expert who has lived--and collected aquarium fish--all over the world. Jaap is well-known in the hobby not only for his wealth of knowledge, but also for leading "amazing" Amazon fish collecting trips for aquarium hobbyists, and trips to other locales for fish researchers and producers.
