Prayer can feel intimidating—especially when life feels busy, messy, or overwhelming. But what if prayer was never meant to be complicated? In this episode of The Renew Podcast, Pastor Gina, Meghen, and special guest Angie Cline dive into the spiritual discipline of prayer and how it can become a natural, daily rhythm instead of a rigid religious routine. From praying at the kitchen sink to learning how to hear God's voice in the middle of everyday life, this conversation is full of wisdom, honesty, and encouragement for every season—whether you're a young mom, a college student, or someone who has been walking with God for years. They discuss: How to make prayer practical and personal Why prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue Hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit Intercessory prayer and standing in the gap for others What to do when distractions, shame, or anger make prayer feel hard Biblical models for prayer in Matthew 6, John 17, and Romans 8Prayer is not about perfection; it's about relationship. If you've ever wondered, “Am I praying the right way?” this episode is for you. If you were thrown into one of the toughest reality shows going, could you handle it? SAS Australia vs UK kicks off tonight on Channel 7, and it’s as brutal as ever. Mack Horton joins the show and admits to wetting his pants under pressure. Physically, it’s manageable, but mentally? That’s where it really breaks people. The athletes seem to cope better, able to switch off instantly, while the non-athletes struggle to find that balance. And yes neighbour’s Toadie is flying the flag for Team Australia. Mack is hilarious and chats about how it all went down! Meanwhile, big changes are coming to the Gold Coast, with the Surfers Paradise Esplanade now permanently closed to traffic. The push is on to be bold and finally bring beach clubs to life in the space. Annastacia Palaszczuk has a new book on the way, The Politics of Being Me although Liam reckons it should’ve been called Hard to Say, Easy to Read. There’s a lingering frustration about decisions made during the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast & Palaszczuk has apologised for how it was handled. Listener Jason from Mount Tamborine calls in, stunned at some of the show’s recent takes on their Podiums of Australian Bands. While Jase demanded answers from Liam and Spida, Leisel remained untouchable because she was head down, underwater, winning gold medals for the nation. In surf news, while Burleigh continues to dominate the conversation, Liam’s been down at Snapper and is all in on the return to the iconic rocks. The pros are already out there getting loose, and Dimity Stoyle has claimed the wildcard - her first tour appearance in 11 years. The buzz is building, and the team will be broadcasting live from the action this Friday morning!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ep. 214 (Part 2 of 2) | Part 2 of the 16th dialogue of the A. H. Almaas Wisdom Series takes us on a sweet journey farther into our exploration of the nature of the absolute. Hameed Ali discusses the paradox of the absolute, being both source and cessation of all things, the nonduality of emptiness and beingness, these being two sides of the same coin, and explains why many nondual teachings do not touch upon the absolute. He makes sense of the difficult-to-fathom concept of pure emptiness, explaining that the absolute's nature is absence—in contrast with presence—and relates that Mystery is the essence of the absolute, the fundamental essence of the nature of reality. “We are never going to know where it's at, what's happening, what life is about,” he laughs. Our knowledge is but “small islands in the vast ocean of mystery we live in;” mystery cannot be eliminated. In the absolute, the soul finds its final resting place, Hameed tells us. The absolute is our true home—the essence of the meaning of home. All humans are searching for their true home, Hameed says, and they search in many places. But here the search is over. Reflections of the absolute bring us closer to love, like when we are in love, Hameed continues. Being in love with an outer beloved brings us closer to the inner beloved and we see deeper. “The absolute is total intimacy, Hameed finishes. “In the absolute we are intimate with everything.” How do we express this in the world, in our ordinary lives? “It becomes very simple,” Hameed says. “The absolute is the essence of simplicity—so simple, even though there is a profundity…” Recorded October 9, 2025.“You don't have to experience the absolute to know nonduality.” Topics & Time Stamps – Part 2Emptiness is nondual with consciousness, two sides of the same thing (01:03)Many nondual teachings don't talk about the absolute (02:50)You don't have to experience the absolute to know nonduality (03:32)There's no sense of individual self, but some teachings take the absolute as the ultimate Self (04:52)Making sense of pure emptiness: the absolute's nature is absence—in contrast with presence (09:47) The absolute is the essence of mystery (12:59)Experiencing all phenomena as projections of the absolute (13:57)The absolute reveals that true nature itself is unmanifest (17:58)Mystery is the nature of the absolute; the absolute IS mystery (19:08)The absolute is the extreme limit of purity; the heart empty of everything except the love of God (23:13)We live in an ocean of mystery; what we know are little islands (25:07)The search ends in the absolute; the soul is home (27:32)Reflections

The Superhero Show #608Cadillacs and Dinosaurs: Wild ChildThe Superhero Show: Wild Child — A Dangerous DiscoveryThis week on The Superhero Show, the hosts unpack Cadillacs and Dinosaurs episode 1.05, “Wild Child.” The adventure begins when Jack Tenrec and Hannah Dundee receive word of trouble at a nearby mine. Curious and cautious, they set out — and end up uncovering something extraordinary: a mysterious boy traveling with a pack of dinosaurs. The episode drags them into a conflict that tests their compassion, courage, and loyalty to both humanity and the Earth's ancient inhabitants.Into the Mines — A Strange New DiscoveryJack and Hannah arrive at the mining settlement after being summoned due to reports of disturbances. While investigating, they witness a bizarre and dangerous natural phenomenon: a herd of huge, prehistoric creatures stampeding toward them. When their Cadillac stalls at the edge of a cliff, things get tense fast — but then they spot it: a lone child among the beasts. This child emits a strange, high-pitched screech that causes the herd to veer away just in time. The moment sends a clear message: this is no ordinary human. The hosts note how chilling and mysterious that first reveal of the “wild child” feels, instantly shifting the tone from danger to wonder. randomhoohaas.flyingomelette.com+1The child passes as more than just a feral kid. Jack and Hannah — especially Hannah — are shaken by the boy's bond with the beasts and the suggestion that he may belong to the land more than to civilization. It raises ethical questions about trust, adaptation, and who really “owns” the Earth's wild creatures. randomhoohaas.flyingomelette.com+1Rescue Mission, Betrayal — and the Poachers' InterestAs Jack continues investigating the mine's problems (a wounded creature stealing food supplies), Hannah sneaks off to try to rescue the boy. She finds him injured, perched on a cliff, under threat from a predatory “zeke.” With resourcefulness, she uses a vine to descend, confronts the danger, and rescues the child — proving that compassion and courage matter in this harsh world. randomhoohaas.flyingomelette.comMeanwhile, Jack sets a trap: luring the wounded creature with crates of fruit, hoping to heal it rather than kill it. His plan works — until members of a poacher gang, led by the ruthless Hammer Terhune, notice the wild child's unique gift: he can communicate with dinosaurs (“slithers”). Hammer realizes how dangerous — and profitable — that gift could be. randomhoohaas.flyingomelette.com+1Hannah insists on bringing the child back to civilization for care, but Jack argues that the boy belongs to the wild. Their clash underscores the show's recurring theme of humanity vs. nature. The tension escalates when poachers burst into the city to hunt the child — and they're more determined than ever to catch him. randomhoohaas.flyingomelette.com+1A Daring Escape and the True Home of the Wild ChildAs danger closes in, the wild child's bond with the dinosaurs comes...
Fr. Carlson dives into the often misunderstood Parable of the Dishonest Steward. Does Jesus commend the dishonesty of the steward? No, rather, he is pointing out something deeper.
The path of the dharma is path that leads us home. We find our true home inside us. In the body. And, ultimately, in the heart. In this dharma talk, Peter Doobinin describes the journey to our true home. To the place where we know true happiness. The talk was given in the spring of 2025.
They say home is where your hat is. For me, it's where my headphones are. But beyond roofs and rooms, there's another kind of home we all carry inside, a true home within. You might feel it in meditation, or in what I call Stillpoint, that moment of inner silence where breath, body, and mind rest in the same rhythm. I often find it after movement and flow. The first half of this mix invites motion, walk, run, dance, train, stretch, or simply let the body sway. Rhythm holds you so you don't have to force it. The second half softens into ambience, perfect for meditation, reflection, or drifting toward sleep. And when the last note fades, don't rush to fill the space. Let the silence remain, even for a minute.
If God makes promises and God keeps his promises, why is life so hard? Why do I have good desires (for peace or intimacy or joy) that go unmet? Our cloud of witnesses reminds us that this world is not our home, and our unmet desires prove it. Instead, we desire a better (heavenly) home. Don't grow weary and lose heart for our true home exists and awaits us! Your true home isn't what you think—it's way better.
Bible Reading: John 14:1-6Adelyn looked around her empty room. She brushed her hand across the mural Dad had painted on the wall one last time, then picked up the last box and brought it out to the truck. When Mom pulled the truck door down with a loud rumble, Adelyn couldn't help it. She burst into tears. Mom pulled her close. "It's going to be okay, Adelyn," she said in a hoarse voice as Adelyn sobbed into her shoulder. Mom was crying too. "I don't get it," said Adelyn. "Why do we have to leave our house?" "Because the bank lent us the money to buy the house, but after your dad died, paying back the loan on my own became too hard. So now they're taking back the house." She stroked Adelyn's hair. "I know it's hard to leave the house you grew up in, especially with all its memories of your dad, but we don't have a choice. We'll live with Grandma and Grandpa for a while, then you and I will find a nice apartment.""But I don't want to live in an apartment!" said Adelyn, barely able to get the words out through her tears. "I want to live here! This is where you and Dad and I always lived. This is our true home!""Oh, Adelyn," said Mom. "This isn't our true home--it never was. It was a wonderful place to live, but it was never meant to last forever. As Christians, our true home is with Jesus. He is with us now, and when we finally see Him face-to-face in heaven, it will be better than anything we could possibly imagine! And you know what the best part is?""What?" asked Adelyn, wiping her eyes."Our eternal home has already been paid for! We could never afford it ourselves, but Jesus gave His life so we could live with Him forever." Mom led Adelyn to the door of the truck. "I know how hard this is--it's hard for me too. Jesus said we'd have trouble in this world, and it's okay to feel sad about it. But don't lose sight of your true home. Jesus will be with you through all of life's troubles and promises you a home with Him forever." –Courtney LasaterHow About You?Have you experienced pain or sadness in your life? Maybe you lost someone close to you or had to move away from a place you loved. Whatever it is, you don't have to go through it alone. If you know Jesus, He promises to always be with you and to one day bring you to your eternal home, where you'll never feel pain or sadness again. Your true home is with Him. Today's Key Verse:In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (NIV) (John 16:33 )Today's Key Thought:Christians have a home with Jesus

By seeing into the true nature of all reality, we can free ourselves from the endless cycles of clinging and attachment without needless confusion about what we call “the self,” and live within our true home.
In St. Paul's epistle to the Philippians, he reminds the faithful that Our Lord is God while describing what holiness is. Moreover, while St. Paul details all the ways he followed the Law faithfully, he does not place his hope there. Rather, his hope is the same as ours ought to be: to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is God and that we may be united to Him in His passion and death.
