Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited, and is set to massage your earholes. On today's podcast, the guys previewed Game 3 between the Edmonton Oilers vs. Dallas Stars, Connor Brown's injury, Viktor Arvidsson, and more. The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about our favourite memories from the current playoff run. From the way the Oilers bounced back after two early losses against Los Angeles to dusting off the Vegas Golden Knights to Stuart Skinner looking better than anyone expected, there are plenty of fantastic storylines from the first 14 games. As you'll hear, everyone had different memories to share, and it was fun to re-live some of those memories. Looking ahead to Game 4, the boys began the preview by examining what Viktor Arvidsson brings to the table as a replacement for the injured Connor Brown. Coles Notes: We need him to play like the Viktor Arvidsson who annoyed the Oilers for years as a King. We also walked through the new line combinations and discussed whether it makes sense to have McDavid and Draisaitl starting on the same line. Finally, the fellas wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a run of betting talk for our friends at bet365, keys to victory vs. the Stars in Game 4, and offered a few reasons why everyone should believe the Oilers can get the job done for a second straight night on home ice. As you'll hear, the boys feel bullish about the Oilers' chances of getting the job done, but that'll only happen if they can bring the same effort that we saw earlier in the series, even with the win on Sunday afternoon. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Edmonton Oilers lose ugly in game 2, falling 6-2 to the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night. Not a lot to like from this game, as the Oilers penalty kill struggled once again, giving up 3 goals, while Stuart Skinner did not provide a big save and was pulled in the third period. The Oilers got goals from Leon Draisaitl and Viktor Arvidsson but didn't get much else from the forward group. EST's own Dustin Nielson and Reid Wilkins join the show and hear postgame comments from Edmonton's star Leon Draisaitl and head coach Kris Knoblauch. Tom Gazzola - Hernan Salas - Matt Kassian
The Edmonton Oilers went into Winnipeg on Sunday night and delivered a massive 4-1 win over the league-leading Jets. It was a complete effort from a team that continues to battle through injuries and adversity late in the season. With home-ice advantage in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs still in reach, the Oilers showed they're not backing down, even without a fully healthy roster. From the drop of the puck, they took control of the game and never really looked back.Scoring came from all throughout the lineup, with goals from Connor Brown, Corey Perry, Adam Henrique, and Viktor Arvidsson. It was the kind of depth production the Oilers will need in the postseason, and last night proved this group can step up when needed. Connor McDavid continued his torrid pace since returning from injury, playing a key role in the team's offensive success once again. He looked confident and dangerous every time he touched the puck. The win also marked the return of Stuart Skinner, who hadn't started since March 26th against the Dallas Stars. He wasn't overly busy, but he was sharp when called upon, stopping 24 of 25 shots and making a strong case to be the Game 1 starter for the Oilers in the playoffs. With Calvin Pickard playing well in Skinner's absence, the Oilers are now faced with a tough but positive decision in net.On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will break down last night's huge win with a full scoring summary, their one big take, and the Sherwood Ford Giant Question. They'll also preview tonight's massive showdown against the LA Kings at Rogers Place — a game that has huge implications in the Pacific Division and could be a preview of the first round.Plus, Louie DeBrusk will join the show for his weekly segment to share his thoughts on the Oilers' current injury luck, the team's recent form, and how Jay Woodcroft and his staff might approach the goaltending decision moving forward. We'll also look around the NHL playoff race and talk about where the Oilers fit in with just a few games remaining in the regular season. Connor McDavid did not disappoint in his return to the lineup as he led the way with 3 assists in the Oilers 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues. Connor Brown added two goals including the game winner with 21 seconds left in the game, while Vasily Podkolzin and Viktor Arvidsson added the other goals. With Calgary getting a point in their game versus the Anaheim Ducks the Oil weren't able to clinch a playoff spot on Wednesday night. Postgame interviews from Edmonton captain Connor McDavid and Connor Brown. Tom Gazzola - Hernan Salas - Matt Kassian - Reid Wilkins
The Edmonton Oilers picked up a massive 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues last night at Rogers Place, snapping out of a recent slide and getting a huge confidence boost with just a handful of games remaining in the regular season. While the win didn't officially clinch a playoff spot — thanks to the Calgary Flames falling to the Ducks in regulation — it was a major step forward for a team that's been looking to get back on track.Connor McDavid made his return to the lineup and looked as dominant as ever, racking up three assists and playing a crucial role in the Oilers' late-game comeback. The night also featured some much-needed depth scoring, with Connor Brown potting two goals and Viktor Arvidsson adding another. It was a full team effort, and exactly what the Oilers needed at this point in the season. On today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday, we'll break down the full game with our scoring summary, deliver our one big take, ask the Sherwood Ford Giant Question, and check in on the rest of the league with our latest NHL playoff report.Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

It's Friday afternoon, the boys are back from Vegas, meaning a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is set and ready to send you into the weekend. On today's show, we discussed Thursday's win over San Jose, the loss of Leon Draisaitl, playoff line combinations, and much more. The boys started the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about some of the nonsensical plays that happened in the NHL this past week. Starting with Niko Mikkola's fine for shooting the puck at an opposing player, the guys wondered whether the fine was worthy of the action or if he should have been punished more heavily. We then discussed the ridiculous Jalen Chatfield takedown of Connor McMichael in a fight and how he did not face discipline for such a dangerous play.Changing gears, we looked at Viktor Arvidsson's recent success and how he now has goals in three straight games. Given how the expectations placed on him were sky-high, having him start to pop goals with under 10 games left is a welcomed sight among the fanbase. And since players like Arvy are starting to heat up, we discussed how the the line combinations may look as bodies get back in the lineup. Needless to say, the coaching staff will have some very difficult decisions to make. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Friday episode of the podcast with another round of betting talk and Hot and Cold Performers to recap the last week of our lives. Whether it was the Nation Vacation to Las Vegas, having players heat up at the right time, or the opportunity to keep winning games despite losing the team's two best players, there was plenty to discuss on the Friday episode of ONR. That's three wins in a row for the Oilers as they get by the San Jose Sharks 3-2 in game two of their four-game road trip. It wasn't all good for the Oil as Leon Draisaitl left the game late in the second period due to injury and did not return. Viktor Arvidsson continues his strong play, scoring on the power play, while Jeff Skinner and Connor Brown added the other goals. Postgame interviews from Kris Knoblauch and forward Connor Brown. Tom Gazzola - Hernan Salas - Matt Kassian.
The Edmonton Oilers picked up a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks last night, with Calvin Pickard earning his 20th win of the season between the pipes. It was a night of key depth scoring, as Connor Brown, Viktor Arvidsson, and Jeff Skinner all found the back of the net to help the Oilers secure two points. The biggest storyline from the game however? The injury to Leon Draisaitl. After taking a number of hits and getting roughed up throughout the night, Draisaitl removed himself from the game in the second period and did not return. With Connor McDavid already out of the lineup, what does this mean for the Oilers moving forward? We'll break it all down with our scoring summary, One Big Take, and the Sherwood Ford Giant Question.Plus, we'll be joined by Dennis Bernstein to preview tomorrow's massive Pacific Division showdown with the LA Kings, as the Oilers continue their push for second place. Don't miss it!

The Oilers started their road trip with a big 3-2 win over the Golden Knights. It was a slow start for the Oil but they found their legs in the second period, with Jake Walman, Leon Draisaitl and Viktor Arvidsson getting on the score sheet. Veteran goalie Calvin Pickard was solid on the night and Darnell Nurse had another great night defensively. Plus hear postgame interviews from Jake Walman, who scored his first goal as an Oiler and head coach Kris Knoblauch. Tom Gazzola - Hernan Salas - Matt Kassian

The Oilers finished off their road trip with their best performance as they beat the New York Rangers 3-1. Viktor Arvidsson scored the winner early in the third period with captain Connor McDavid also getting on the score sheet getting the insurance goal late in the game. Stuart Skinner also bounced back, making 21 saves including an enormous stop on Mika Zibanejad. Edmonton now heads home for four home games starting with the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday. The Edmonton Oilers turned their road trip around in a huge way, picking up a massive four points over the weekend with back-to-back wins against the New York Islanders and New York Rangers. It all started Friday night with a thrilling 2-1 OT victory over the Islanders, powered by Leon Draisaitl's late-game heroics. He scored both goals, including the overtime winner, bringing him to 49 goals on the season. Calvin Pickard was rock solid between the pipes, standing tall in a game where the Oilers struggled to generate consistent offense but got the job done when it mattered most. The road trip finale came Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, where the Oilers delivered a statement 3-1 win over the Rangers. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins silenced his critics with a three-point night, while Viktor Arvidsson and Connor McDavid sealed the game with clutch third-period goals. The Edmonton Oilers continue their four-game road trip tonight with a matchup against the New Jersey Devils, looking to put Monday's embarrassing 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres behind them. The Oilers have struggled for a few weeks now, and with the playoffs fast approaching, they need to find their game—starting tonight. Fortunately, they'll face a Devils team missing their superstar Jack Hughes, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The big story heading into this one is Jeff Skinner's promotion to the second line alongside Leon Draisaitl and Viktor Arvidsson. With the Oilers' offensive production dipping in recent weeks, Skinner will be asked to provide a much-needed spark in the top six. Will this adjustment help Edmonton find the firepower they've been missing?Another major question mark for the Oilers is goaltending. Stuart Skinner has struggled since returning from the 4 Nations Faceoff break, and with a shaky Oilers defense in front of him, they'll need a big performance from their starter to walk away with two points. Can he step up and deliver a signature win on the road? We'll go through all our game day essentials, including the latest lineup report, game notes, and our Sherwood Ford Giant Question. Plus, we'll close things out with our Gameday Bet365 Betting Challenge, breaking down the best value plays for tonight's matchup.Tune in as we get you set for a crucial game in New Jersey!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
We're only a few days away from the NHL trade deadline, which meant there was plenty to discuss on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. In today's podcast, the guys discussed the Trent Frederic trade, Evander Kane's cap situation, secret no-move clauses, trade deadline plans, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Trent Frederic trade that happened early Tuesday morning, and whether the Oilers overpaid for the trade. We also discussed how everyone thinks this move affects the Oilers' trade plans going into the deadline, and if we think it signals some bigger moves from Bowman going forward. No matter how you look at the trade, the Oilers ultimately got one of the more notable rental targets, and that's something we haven't had around here too often over the years. Changing gears, we looked back at Saturday's win over the Carolina Hurricanes and how it was incredibly important for the Oilers to snap their losing streak. From Calvin Pickard shutting the door between the pipes to Corey Perry coming up with another clutch goal to secure the win, it was a gritty victory that the team desperately needed. We also discussed the revelation that Viktor Arvidsson and Adam Henrique both have no-move clauses on their contract, which prompted the ire of Oilers fans given that some of the talk around potentially moving on from some of our struggling forwards. Looking ahead at the trade deadline, we discussed the news from this week that Evander Kane is looking to return before the end of the regular season, which would seriously impact the team's chance of making additional deals. As you'll hear, everyone on the podcast is irritated with that situation because it seems like such an easy plan to keep him out until the playoffs. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode with some betting talk and another round of Keys to Victory ahead of tonight's matchup between the Oilers and Ducks.
The third hour kicked off with Mr Mikes ‘Kind of Easy Trivia!' ‘Three Questions Too Many' presented by Park Mazda got us to the to the sports update. Ryan Rishaug was the final guest on today's show! And he finished with his thoughts on Knoblauch's use of the word fragile, and some potential trade targets for the Oilers. In the middle of the hour it was time for 'I've Got Beef' for Acme Meat Market. Lot's beef on today's show. We finished off hour two, with 'Fired Up' from Gemco Fireplaces! Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to lead you into the weekend. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Jeff Skinner's spot in the lineup, Viktor Arvidsson's goal against the Blackhawks, Noah Philp being loaned to Bakersfield, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Jeff Skinner's spot in the lineup and whether he's doing enough to keep himself in the top six. Given that the winger has played well over the last handful of games, will that be enough for Kris Knoblauch? Or will the Oilers' coach continue to mix up his lines in the hopes of finding the perfect fit? As you'll hear, everyone is cautiously optimistic about Skinner's game, but everyone is still a little gun-shy based on his usage so far this season.Changing gears, we looked at Viktor Arvidsson's big goal against the Chicago Blackhawks and whether that beautiful snipe gave us some excitement that could get his offence going. Given that the Oilers paid him a bunch of money to score goals, having only seven on the year is certainly concerning, but that also means there's more there than we're seeing. We also touched on the Oilers loaning Noah Philp back to the Condors ahead of the 4 Nations break and how it's important that he keeps playing instead of sitting around here in Edmonton. We then looked at some recent quotes from Stan Bowman regarding his plans for the trade deadline. As you'll hear, it sounds like the Oilers are seeking depth as opposed to a major acquisition, but there's also no way that he's going to tip his entire hand. When asked about the goaltending, Bowman gave his vote of confidence for his goaltending tandem after there's been a lot of noise about upgraded that position. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of the podcast with a random collection of topics, including some prop bets for Friday's Oilers game against the Avalanche, some Ask the Idiots questions from listeners, and Hot and Cold Performers to recap the best and worst moments from the past seven days. As always, the boys were all over the map with their answers, but that's the joy of opening up the end of the podcast for a little bit of shenanigans.
It's Wednesday afternoon, meaning it's time for a fresh episode of the world's greatest podcast. On this week's episode of Better Lait Than Never, I'm begging Connor McDavid to shoot more, wondering when Viktor Arvidsson will stop falling down, and wading through the noise surrounding Stuart Skinner.I kicked off the Wednesday episode of BLTN with a recap of the week, including my gripes with the weather, the Real Life golf league, and a tease about a former Oiler who could soon be working with us. I also followed through on my promise to give away a BLTN hoodie for a listener who sent me a picture of their podcast review. I also promised to do these more often because they really do help the podcast grow, and I also want to keep rewarding listeners for playing along.Turning the podcast back toward the Oilers, I started with a quick recap of Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Blues. The Oilers almost lost that one due to a four-minute stretch of disastrous hockey in the third period, so I couldn't help but wonder what's going on with these in-game lulls lately. If I'm putting my detective's hat on for a minute, it almost seems like we've got a flu running through the team right now or something. Finally, I wrapped up this quick episode of BLTN with a pair of guest Righteous Sack Beatings, before wrapping up the show with another round of voicemails that were all over the map. The inbox was slow and steady again this week, but I still got plenty of laughs from your ideas, feedback, and voicemails. As always, I sat back and laughed while listening to everything that's been on your mind over the last seven days.
It's Tuesday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your earholes and cover all of the Edmonton Oilers' biggest stories. On this week's podcast, we discussed the Oilers' loss to Toronto, Kris Knoblauch's new line combos, NHL trade news, and much more.To kick off the first episode of ONR of the week, we started with a delicious debate about whether the Oilers have a goaltending problem and whether they should look at an upgrade between the pipes at the trade deadline. After a tough night for Stuart Skinner against Toronto on Saturday, the guys debated whether or not Stan Bowman should be looking elsewhere. While there was a lively debate about the topic, all of the guys still believed in Skinner but did agree that he needed to limit the highs and lows.Changing gears, we examined the Oilers' new line combos from yesterday's practice and asked everyone's opinion on whether this new trio would work. Before we even got through the first two lines, the conversation shifted to Viktor Arvidsson's lack of offence so far this season and whether that could result in him leaving town before his contract ends. We also discussed the first two games of John Klingberg and whether he's shown enough to make us look elsewhere for upgrades ahead of the trade deadline. We then ripped through all of the news that happened around here over the last week, including some trades that have happened around the NHL, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Tyler's new NHL Trade Rumour segment. If you're looking for a recap of some of the available names that that the Oilers could fish for at the trade deadline, Tyler has all the latest rumblings from around the NHL. With the deadline just over a month away, the silly szn rumours can only ramp up from here, and we'll make sure you're up to date.

After a tough loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday, the Edmonton Oilers got themselves back in the win column with a comeback effort against the Boston Bruins. Was it the prettiest win you'll ever see? No. Does it matter when you get two points? Also, no... maybe. We started the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about the Oilers' new defensive pairings from practice this morning. Although Kris Knoblauch doesn't mix up his D-pairings very often, this morning's practice showed a significant shift away from the status quo. Do you like the new pairings? Do you hate them? Are you confused by the change like Baggedmilk? The answers were all over the map.Changing gears, we looked back at Thursday's win over the Bruins and how the Oilers secured the victory despite not playing their best game. A big part of that win was Leon Draisaitl's seventh consecutive multi-point night, which gave him 50 on the year and 900 points in his career. We also discussed Viktor Arvidsson's return to the lineup and how a devastating hit in the corner arguably punctuated his first night back on the ice. Finally, we finished the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk, and Hot and Cold Performers to wrap up the week. With all of the serious Oilers talk out of the way, it's always nice to wind down with a little bit of shenanigans, and there was plenty of that in the second episode of the week. As for what next week's schedule looks like, we'll be taking Tuesday off to enjoy Christmas Eve before getting right back on it for the Friday episode of the pod.

The Edmonton Oilers had their five game win streak snapped last night against the Florida Panthers. It was a chaotic game with neither team playing well but, unfortunately, it was the Panthers that found the sixth goal before the Oilers did. Liam, Rick and Nation Dan will talk you back through that game discussing the performance of Evan Bouchard, Stuart Skinner and Zach Hyman. Additionally, they talked about the controversial decision to allow Matthew Tkachuk's power play goal stand after there was a discussion if he kicked the puck or not. Furthermore, after that defeat, head coach Kris Knoblauch shuffled up the line combinations with Jeff Skinner and Connor Brown switching spots. There were also comments about when Viktor Arvidsson could return to the lineup. You can expect all of that and more on today's episode of Oilersnation Radio.
As always, we then transitioned to Mr Mikes 'Kind of Easy Trivia,' and we finally have a winner! They then transitioned to ‘Three Questions Too Many' from Park Mazda. Our last guest of the day today was TSN's Ryan Rishaug. He shared his thoughts on tonight's game against the Panthers, shed some light on where Viktor Arvidsson slides in when he's ready and much more. The boys finished the show with ‘The Wrap' for William Huff
The Edmonton Oilers have steamrolled through their competition over the last week, which meant there was plenty to discuss on the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio. The guys kicked off the Friday episode of the podcast with a delicious debate about whether Ryan Hartman should be suspended for his dirty hit on Evan Bouchard in Thursday's game against the Minnesota Wild. Given that Hartman has a history of being fined and suspended for dirty plays, the conversation was a little more split than you may think. After watching the video a handful of times, the guys' thoughts were all over the map as they tried to figure out what the right move was. Changing gears, we looked back at last night's 7-1 win over the Minnesota Wild and how it was one of the most dominant performances the Oilers have had in quite some time. Not only was it a total beatdown, but to do it against one of the best teams in the league was a surprise that none of us saw coming. From Calvin Pickard playing lights out between the pipes to Leon Draisaitl taking over the game with a dominant performance, the Oilers got big performances from key players on their road to victory.Given how the Oilers are playing right now, there are going to be some very interesting roster decisions to make as the team gets healthy. As an example, who comes out of the lineup when a guy like Viktor Arvidsson comes back? What about down the line when Evander Kane comes back? Needless to say, this is a very good problem for the team to have and one that we haven't really experienced before. When you're a strong hockey club like the Oilers are, the team has a chance to get even better and that's a fantastic to think about.
As always, we start the third hour off with Mr Mikes 'Kind of Easy Trivia!' We then transitioned to ‘Three Questions Too Many' from Park Mazda. Our final guest on today's show was TSN's Ryan Rishaug! He shared his thoughts on all things Oilers, their recent play, the Broberg & Holloway situation, and where the hell is Viktor Arvidsson?!? The boys finished the show with ‘The Wrap' for William Huff.

For whatever reason, the Edmonton Oilers' schedule is so weird this season. As a result, we find ourselves in a mini bye week that isn't technically a bye week but is indeed boring us all like one. On the bright side, the lack of games meant more time for shenanigans on this week's episode of Better Lait Than Never.I started this week's podcast by discussing my excitement for this week's #NationVacation. Heading to another city to watch the Oilers play is one of my favourite things to do, and that excitement builds even further when we're going to a place I've never been before. I then changed gears a bit to talk about seeing The Book of Mormon on Friday night at the Jubilee and how it was one of the funniest nights I've had in a long time. If you've never seen that play and are a fan of South Park, you've gotta find a way to see it at least one time.Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, there has been little to talk about since last week because of the bizarre schedule. With only two games on the schedule this week, the Oilers' news cycle has been quiet, but that doesn't mean there weren't plenty of things to talk about. Starting with Kasperi Kapanen getting claimed off waivers, the Oilers looked to add some depth to their right side. The timing of the move couldn't have been better, however, as the club is still without Zach Hyman and Viktor Arvidsson, but no one really knows why. Finally, I wrapped up this quick episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about getting way too spicy about sports opinions before wrapping up the show with another round of voicemails. The inbox was quieter this week, but I still got a healthy chuckle out of your ideas and feedback. As always, I sat back and laughed while listening to everything that's been on your mind over the last seven days.
There are no Edmonton Oilers games until Friday, which meant today's episode of Oilersnation Radio was spent looking at what's to come and what's been happening over the first quarter of the 2024-25 NHL season. This week, the boys discussed the Oilers' scoring woes, what's happening with Hyman and Arvidsson, and a whole lot more. The guys started the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the scoring issues and whether we should be concerned about any of the struggling players. Whether it's Viktor Arvidsson's mysterious injury, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' struggles or Jeff Skinner's being in the coach's doghouse, there are a few players who need to pick it up, whether we're worried about them or not. Changing gears, we looked at some of the other news that's happened over the last few days, including Vasily Podkolzin's first goal as an Oilers, the injuries to Hyman and Arvidsson, and we also looked at Darnell Nurse's first game back after the hit by Ryan Reaves last week in Toronto. Despite no games until Friday, we still got a lot of Oilers news over the last few days, and we took the time to cover it all. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a flurry of random topics, including another rant about the Oilers not needing John Gibson, who will play in net for Canada at the 4 Nations Face Off, some betting talk, and when we think Stuart Skinner will get his save percentage back above .900. Even without playing since Saturday, that didn't mean the boys didn't have plenty to talk about to fill an hour.
Monday means a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast is ready to help you kick off your week. Today's episode covers a range of topics after an eventful weekend filled with life events, an Oilers win, and the first snowstorm of the season. On today's podcast, the guys covered the weekend's snowstorm, Wanye being super dad, Chalmers' upcoming surgery, and more. The guys started the Monday episode of Real Life with a conversation about the dump of snow that hit us this past weekend. Of course, everyone on the show is used to Alberta winters, but that doesn't always mean you're ready when Mother Nature dumps a foot of snow over 24 hours. From shovelling snow to driving around during a storm, they walked through their approach to Edmonton's first winter storm.Changing gears, Wanye wanted to discuss why he missed the second period of Saturday's Oilers game. As you'll hear, Papa Wanye was called to duty when his little man got sick after what he thought was a solid way to tire him out. Unfortunately, while Wanye's plan may have been sound in theory, what happened was very different from the expectation.Off to a different topic again, Chalmers walked through the elbow surgery he's getting tomorrow and how doing construction over the last three decades has caused some issues. It was clear that something was wrong if you saw Chalmers walk into the studio ahead of the recording, and it all made sense once he talked about what's going on.Finally, the guys wrapped up the Monday episode with a little bit of Oilers talking, starting with the fact that both Viktor Arvidsson and Zach Hyman are already ruled out for next weekend. Given that both players were originally listed as day-to-day, having them miss this much time without much of an explanation isn't exactly sitting well with a lot of the fanbase.
Jeremy and Shams are here to break down all the new injuries and update timelines as well. After all the injury news they close out the show covering all the cold Kings players giving actionable fantasy advice on each one. Lastly, they close out the show the latest hot Russian forward for Columbus that is only 1% rostered on Yahoo right now. Players discussed: Alex Ovechkin, Frederik Andersen, Alexandar Georgiev, Zach Hyman, Viktor Arvidsson, Vasily Podkolzin, Kasperi Kapanen, Vince Dunn, Alex Pietrangelo, Kris Letang, Quinton Byfield, Alex Laferriere, Kevin Fiala, Brandt Clarke and Dmitri Voronkov. Is there anything better than a brand new episode of Better Lait Than Never to celebrate the midway point of the week? No, of course not. This week, I talked about Connor McDavid being one point away from 1000, Viktor Arvidsson being banged up, my excitement for the Tyson/Paul fight, and much more.I kicked off this week's episode of BLTN by recapping my idea about how many days I could live on nothing but Costco hot dogs. I was talking about this at my house the other day and was surprised by the lack of support I was getting for what could end up as funny content. I also discussed the feedback I've received so far for the new Better Lait Than Never logo I made this past week, and much to my surprise, many folks loved it.Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, I started the news with another tribute to Connor McDavid, who is now only a single point away from 1000 after a four-point performance last night against the Islanders. When McDavid is at his best, there's no one more entertaining to watch in this sport, and the Islanders got a dose of what that felt like on Tuesday night. I also looked ahead at Edmonton's upcoming schedule, and with the Nashville Predators in town on Thursday, I'm banking on a big night from the Dynamic Duo.Finally, I wrapped up this quick episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about getting older before wrapping up the show with another round of voicemails. The inbox was alive with beef this week, and that made me laugh and laugh. If you've been listening to the podcast for any length of time, you know that I love hip hop, and beef sells records. As always, I sat back and laughed while listening to everything that's been on your mind over the last seven days.
