"We travel, initially to lose ourselves, and we travel, next to find ourselves" - Pico IyerWelcome to Episode #90:Today I have a special conversation with Nadia Fragnito from The Vegan Italian Kitchen. Nadia is here to talk about her solo travel experience and the journey of returning to Italy to research her next cookbook due out later this year. We discuss the triumphs and the pain points of travelling alone, things we both discovered on our own personal journeys. I might add, I have recognised over the past few years that taking the reins and travelling solo is the ultimate journey of self care. It isn't the easiest of path, but speaks to liberation and going on an inner journey, just as much as an outer one.Enjoy this Conversation.....Visit Nadia: The Vegan Italian KitchenInstagram: The Vegan Italian KitchenFirst Conversation with Nadia Fragnito - Episode #55: Culinary Adventures in Southern Italy with Nadia FragnitoSome of the Inspiration behind Nadia's Solo Journey to Italy - Episode #57: Table for One - On Solo Travel, Artist Dates and Grand AdventuresRead the Solo Travel Essay - Table for OneHighlight Moment in this Episode - The jewels and triumph of the journey at 47.00 minutes!!  I love this conversation so much... Addie encourages women and art lovers to visit and participate in the museum’s daily and weekly activities. Know more about their calendar of events by checking their website www.nmwa.org. Linda is the first Lifetime Member of Women Traveling together, she has been on 15 trips and is planning to have more. Out of all her trips, the most rewarding was her trip across the Atlantic Ocean and Istanbul which has presented the most challenges – a hurricane, lost luggage, and currency issues. But instead of letting this stop her, the challenges empowered her to make the best out of the situation. More than the travel savvy she gains with each trip, Linda shares how she has made life long connections with the women she has traveled with and how Traveling with Women Traveling Together gave her the opportunity to travel while bonding with women in the same situation and the same love for travel.   Key Takeaways: Being the first Lifetime Member, Linda shares watching the company grow and how she is encouraged by the way the company and the trips are ran. Welcome to the very first episode of the Women Traveling Solo Together Podcast. The purpose of this podcast is to share real stories and helpful tips from women who've traveled solo with other solo women travelers instead of going alone. Our very first guest is Debra Asberry, founder of Women Traveling Together. Debra’s story began more than 20 years ago when she had a desire to raft the Colorado River but could not find a travel partner in her immediate circle. Fast forward today, the company has grown to running over 80 trips all around the world and has built a solid community of women who travel not just for the growth factor but also for the sheer fun and the ability to go see the places they have been dreaming about their entire lives. In the coming episodes, we will be sharing stories from trip leaders and travelers. We’ll talk about everything from the where they have gone, why they've gone and the fun stories that they've had along the way. I can't wait to share what's coming up next on the Women Traveling Solo Together Podcast. Key Takeaways: Debra shares how Women Traveling Together started from a dream trip she wanted to take 20 years ago How a chance conversation with another woman who had the same desire to travel led her to find other women who had the same desire for travel From the first international trip in 1998, Women Traveling Together is now running over 80 trips all around the world Solo women travelers are more socially accepted now as compared to 20 years ago Women are so much more ambitious now about where they want to go, what they want to do, and are more willing to create lifelong friendships Solo traveling has nothing to do with marital status - a woman could be married, single, divorced, or widowed. It is now easy for women to turn their dreams of travel and make it a reality. Debra shares what a trip leader is, the process of becoming one, and the responsibility it entails Mentioned in This Episode: Women-Traveling.com Women Traveling Together on Facebook Email: wttmail@women-traveling.com Leave a Review: Did you like this episode?
