This episode is all about understanding the sacred space of the heart where our humanity shines in its most authentic form. Here are the reflective questions to process:What roles do you play in your life that allows for genuine connection with others? How can you bring more vulnerability and unity into your everyday relationships?Three things you'll learn today: 1. The Healing Power of Vulnerability:Pope Francis poignantly points out that hospitals often reveal the truest essence of who you are. When faced with illness or injury, you shed your facades and recognize your shared humanity. You learn that vulnerability can lead to healing—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well.2. Unity in DiversityIn the reflective words, you witness the beauty of diversity coming together in seemingly impossible scenarios. Imagine a homophobe being saved by a gay doctor—a poignant reminder that love and care transcend our labels and biases. This inspires you to break down barriers in your own lives and advocate for unity across different backgrounds.3. The Impermanence of LifeYou are encouraged to focus on what truly matters in your limited time on this planet. You should embrace love over judgment, time spent with loved ones over unnecessary material pursuits, and moments of genuine connection over societal expectations. Thank you for joining us for this soul-enriching conversation. If you enjoyed today's episode, please share it with a friend and subscribe for more inspirational content. "After I lose five pounds, I'll feel more confident." "Once I get this promotion or finish this big project, I'll have time for myself." But, will we? Does something actually change in that moment where we can finally relax or does something else just become the focus? In my experience, life does not wait for us to reach some magical moment. Instead, it's about learning to enjoy and appreciate the journey rather than just aiming for the finish line. This week, I challenge you to take two to five minutes every day to sit with your own thoughts. Take time to think about what you are grateful for, what went well, what was challenging, etc. Then take time to pray, journal, meditate, or talk to someone. "You have not a right, but a duty to be happy" -  Roberta MussatoWelcome to Episode #91:  What a privilege it is to talk to women and share their stories. Women lead such fascinating lives. I continually notice this, the fact they continue to expand themselves, push their limits and boundaries, to grow, and not except contraction as the norm, but lean into expansion rather, living and learning so much about themselves, and making things happen!! I love that.Today I talk with Roberta Mussato about her book - Universe I Trust You: One Month in Sri LankaI wanted to share that I listened to Roberta's book on Audible late last year, which I thoroughly enjoyed, she made me laugh a lot with her honesty and candid truth telling, and well everything else that was working or not working in her life. The big question is, can the worst of crisis be the turning point for a grand new chapter in your life? Yes, it appears, it definitely can.Roberta was born in Treviso in the north of Italy, in the Veneto region. With a background as an Interpreter and Translator from Italian to English, most of her adult life has been lived in London. Roberta describes herself as a global citizen and loves to travel the world seeking and learning about people and places.  When Roberta took this three month journey, she had one main provision - to let the universe do the work. Her theory was to let go and let it all unfold in a natural way without expectations or demands. It's a fun story and Roberta's second book is currently being written as Roberta goes on to reflect on what happened next in India and then Nepal. These days she is a Life Coach and avid traveler and currently lives in London, in the United Kingdom.Universe I Trust You, One Month in Sri Lanka on Audible Roberta Mussato on InstagramVisit Roberta for her book and Life Coaching Sessions at Roberta MussatoRoberta is happy to offer a 10% discount on her three months Coaching Package - Contact her on robertamussato@gmail.com and mention this offer…Also she offers a 60 minute Coaching Session if you leave a review of her book on Audible or Amazon - just send a screenshot of your review and send it to robertamussato@gmail.comFind all Show Notes and details mentioned at: michellejohnston.lifeYou can now Support the Podcast and send your encouragement.© 2024  A Writer In Italy - travel, books, art and lifeMusic Composed by Richard Johnston © 2024Support the show

It's that time of the year again when everybody is in goal-planning mode. We tend to focus so much on the “New Year, New Start,” write down ambitious goals, and often skip the most important part of successful goal setting: REFLECTION.Without reflection, goal setting can be just a mechanical exercise, a list of to-do's without the heart and soul that make them worth pursuing. Without reflection, goals can become just an empty target. Reflection can help you to define which goals REALLY matter to you, and it can help you to create the motivation and fuel you need to follow through with action to make them happen! Thanks to monthly and yearly reflection, I have been able to continuously keep changing my business and improving the quality of my life.So get ready to take a moment to pause and reflect on this year - where you are, what got you here, your accomplishments and challenges, so you can set meaningful goals and create realistic action plans that will lead you to accomplish them.In this episode we'll cover:The importance of reflection for setting meaningful goals and creating realistic action plans to accomplish themReflection questions you need to ask yourself to set better goals for your business and personal lifeHow little intentional changes in your daily life can make a big impact on your happiness, motivation and success in business, relationships and personal life?Examples from my life and business how I use reflection to choose where I REALLY want to spend my time in business and lifeYou will want to write down your notes, make yourself a cup of tea, and have a little date with yourself.
