Welcome to Series 3 of the Infinite Potential Podcast and what a guest we have to kick things off!! Brian Keane is someone I have followed in the Fitness Industry since I entered it and someone I had hoped to line up for the Podcast one day too. He is best selling author 2 x over with one of my favourite books of all time being Rewire Your Mindset and I would highly recommend it to everyone. We ended up focussing on the mindset side of things throughout this podcast discussing everything from change, fear and failure, accountability, habits and much more and Brian really has a way with words that means you can feel his energy and passion around all the topics. Brian also shares some of his journey from mental health struggles, leaving his teaching job and going all in on fitness and helping others achieve their goals. If you take nothing else from this podcast take away the fact that going all in on YOU and your life is the best decision you will ever make!! If you wish to find Brian the best place is instagram and everything his does including his awesome podcast The Brian Keane Podcasts is all linked in there! I would highly recommend if you enjoy this podcast that you ensure Brian is in your life and positively effecting you when you use your socials/podcasts or make time to read his books. https://www.instagram.com/brian_keane_fitness/

This weeks podcast is a recording of a webinar I filmed so you can choose to watch it on you tube or listen via podcast. I wanted to talk about the importance of what might seem the small stuff, the stuff that gets overlooked whilst prioritising training, but actually the important roll it can play. Stress, sleep, movement and nutrition... plus much much more.
Another solo show this week talking about the reopening of the gyms and my tips/thoughts on how to approach it. With gyms due to reopen next week I wanted to talk through my thoughts on how best to approach returning. A few key thoughts were: Leave your ego at the door Harness the enjoyment Move well!! (super important) Think about your recovery and prep and be prepared for muscle soreness as a result of the gym being a novel stimulus once again irrespective of the training you have been able to perform at home. The key thing I want you to take away is setting performance based goals, move well and lift for enjoyment over the next few weeks. If you have any questions as always reach out via instagram https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/
Thank you for so much feedback, positivity and support following the latest podcast episode. This week I am bringing a requested topic to the table and one that I really think I break down in a clear and concise manor. We are all creatures of habit and we have all had our lives changed in a number of differing ways for over a year now and the thought of normality probably doesn't even make sense right now. Take you time, move through the roadmap gear by gear, have conversations, communicate your feelings and if you think you really need help/support then reach out to a support structure. The same goes for any goals you may have achieved or want to achieve go forwards, look at the habits/routines that they need, can you balance it whilst enjoying life and decide what you fundamentally want as a person. You have more control than you realise!!
I am the first to encourage people to talk and be open, especially when it comes to their mental health and perhaps if they are struggling. I am the first to suggest it because I've been in that position whereby you feel there is no way out, that you just want peace and I am now thankful everyday that I never acted on my thoughts/plan. I was fortunate that a break came, the right conversations at the right time, unknown to me saved my life it really is that important and if this podcast leads to someone having one of those conversations then I can only be happy. Struggling with your mental health does not make you weak, feeling suicidal is not a feeling that can be ignored, everyone deserves to live life to the fullest and we need to make sure that talking it ok. Ask a friend or family member how they are, reach out and talk because you never know who it will help. If you need someone to talk to message me below https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/
Wow! What an Episode. Terri has an incredible story to tell and for me the beauty lies in her reaction, her decisions and her drive for life following the events that happened to her and her young family. To say she is a strong and inspirational women would be a disservice to Terri. So many things can happen to us in life and the important fact that we can control is how we react to them and Terri talks about how she reacted to her 20 month old daughters Cancer diagnosis, losing her home and transitioning into being a single parent. In a year that has had so many of us wondering what next, Terri has qualified as a PT and launched The Positive Movement Project which has already started supporting so many with their Mental-Wellbeing at such a crucial time, and the project is only going to get bigger and better as restrictions lift and its true effects can start reaching people. We talk through running, how to support your own mental-wellbeing and much much more. It's honestly one of my favourite conversations so far!! If you want to follow Terri's and The Positive Movement Project's journey you can find them at the below links: https://www.instagram.com/fierceintraining_terript/ https://www.instagram.com/thepositivemovementproject/ https://www.facebook.com/ThePositiveMovementProject As always you can reach me at the below socials, if you loved this episode which I think you will share the message, share on Facebook, Instagram, tag your friends etc and let's keep on spreading the Infinite Potential message. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
This week episode has been taken from a video I recorded for my Coaching Team. I discuss all things concerning your Menstrual cycle and what to look for as a female interested in progressing your training/fitness. If you have any questions or find the podcast useful please do share and spread the Infinite Potential message.
I loved this podcast!! It's such a privilege to be able to talk to people and record the conversation. Hayley and I went through a training programme together a few years ago and learnt a lot from it as coaches and have taken that forwards into our coaching. Hayley has developed a coaching philosophy that is so similar to mine and its based on building a strong foundation of knowledge, building towards lifestyle change, understanding relationships with food and focussing on enjoying your training. We talk about the females face within training and also within our industry, about avoiding quick fixes and understanding but celebrating what your body can do. WE also rounded off talking through Hayley's experience within motherhood having recently had her first baby. Hayley has been on a great journey with this and has taken her now found values into her coaching and the support of her team too. If you want to see more of what Hayley is about, check out her awesome live workouts or reach out and discuss anything with her you can find her below: https://www.instagram.com/mrs_chatterton/ https://www.crewfitnessuk.com
Welcome back to the Infinite Potential Podcast. This is a shorter solo show on a topic I found myself discussing a few times this week with numerous people. I think it all boils down to self talk and surrounding yourself with the right type of input from people. Let people bring you up, test you, challenge you and motivate you and make sure when you are comparing your doing against your best efforts - that really Is my take away from this episode. If you want to continue the conversation or share across socials here is where you can find me: https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
Wow! Where do I start? Well I am going to start with if you enjoyed listening to this podcast, felt motivated, took something away from it and just stopped and thought wow what incredible work Tom's Trust as a Charity are doing, below is the link to the Just Giving Page to support Ben's incredible effort. https://justgiving.com/campaign/31stars?fbclid=IwAR3V1U287H-Pi_OYvhT-vZ_03RVEDrAKanQpbArhgGAWdvj3KPrE9AzntAk You find out more about Tom's Trust at the below link too https://www.facebook.com/TomsTrustPsychology/ I have known Ben for a few years now and he is someone who undoubtedly gives 110% into everything he does, and he certainly does a lot! We started this podcast talking about his latest challenge, 31 Marathons in 31 days through December 2020. What a way to finish the year, a year that has been challenging for all. Completing 31 Marathons in 31 days in this podcast Ben discusses the mindset, the prep, the Nutriton, how the event became something much much bigger than he could have ever imagined, pain, suffering, the weather and much more. I can't wait for you to hear all about it!! We also discussed some of Ben's previous challenges, how he got into running, what he thinks is next for him and we finished with some incredibly wise words and words that I think will inspire everyone who listens to this podcast. Share this podcast far and wide, on Instagram and Facebook because this is story that needs to heard and a Charity that will benefit hugely from all the support it can receive. Short solo show based on calorie tracking, understanding how it works as a tool for performance and fat loss depending on your goals and then tips as to how to actually use it. From tips as simple as track as close to eating the food as you can in order to stay as accurate as possible and reduce any forgetfulness to how to track pre set meals/meals out. Tracking calories is one of many tools you can utilise to reach your health and fitness goals and using it well will not only save time but will also improve consistency and accuracy.
I've been really keen to record this podcast because I think it has some really key take away points for so many people. Draw a line under Christmas as a period where you needed to destress where possible and just reduce the input in your life. We all needed a reduction in pace. From there we need to reflect on how we are currently feeling as to setting goals or targets or creating a road map for 2021. My key point on this would be only set goals if you feel in the right place to do so, as for the goals you set make sure they are 100% in your control! That is the key atm, take control of where you want to go and what you want to do. If you want to share the story or continue this chat even further reach out below: https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
Wow what an episode. Its very raw, very open and hopefully very insightful. Both Annie and I have leaned on each other for support throughout 2020 and the difficulties it brought both personally and professionally. Both struggling at times mentally and struggling to know exactly how to be there in the right ways for our teams. Annie has been on one hell of a journey this year and I am so proud that she shared some of her experiences with her Life Coach on this Podcast. A point in the podcast I think you should all listen carefully too. I want to thank Annie for sharing so much and for being the most incredible guest having appeared on 3 episodes now. We round off by discussing her injury and how balance and stress management are incredibly important going into 2021. You can find Annie below: https://www.instagram.com/annie_ensofit/] Please feel free to share and spread the message of this incredibly open conversation that covers so many topics. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
So the first guest of Series 2 is here, I am so excited to bring you this podcast with Ben Hutton. Ben is someone who I admire, especially his work ethic, ethos and discipline. Discipline is something Ben is super passionate about and we discuss it at length throughout this podcast. Some of you may know of Ben through his restaurant businesses Ben's and Queen's in Bury St Edmunds and others of you may know him through his work as a PT. Ben discusses marrying the two careers together and how he uses that to support his clients. We discuss how his traits and ethos lead to him recieving an incredible award, especially this year but also how those same traits can be found within you and how to apply them to your fitness journey. If you want to find Ben and have a further chat with him the best place to head is instagram which is linked below: https://www.instagram.com/thefittfoodie/ To carry on the chat with me you can find me below: https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
I intended for this episode to motivate, inspire and promote a change in focus/behaviour and I hope it does just that. Focus on things that are in your control, be disciplined when motivation is lacking and understand that it's your book to write...now what do you want to write about? If this inspires you to act, make a change or inspires you then please let me know across social media https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
Welcome to Series 2.... A short break as work opened up after the initial lockdown and now I'm ready to balance everything. This is just a press record and catch up following a few notes I wanted to discuss. Apologies for losing my words at the end but I wanted to keep it honest. The challenge I just completed 5 miles per day for 11 days is a huge thing for me, my confidence, my back, my progress and the directions I head moving forwards and I wanted to share a few thoughts on that with you. I hope you enjoy. If you want to reach out head to the below socials https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
What an absolute honour to speak to Nikki Williams, so much energy, enthusiasm and the kind of career that just motivates me even more to keep on supporting the people around me. Bringing women together as members of her Positive Choice Team and working with them to build better habits, healthier habits and working with fellow professionals to ensure the Fitness Industry within New Zealand meets the highest of standards. This is an episode with a twist as I admit understanding spirituality and is something I haven't spent much time or looked into much, but Jack has been on his own journey and it was great to get his perspective on the topic. Jack spoke about meditation, how best to start and how it has benefited his performance both professionally and personally. He speaks with real passion about the subject and how self control and ownership are two key pillars within his life too. Jack has recently started a business as a Self Performance Coach and it was great to talk about the tools he uses to help his clients gain even just a 1% improvement on yesterday, after all that's a 365% improvement across the year. If you want tor each out to Jack further the best place to find him is his instagram which is linked below https://www.instagram.com/1jackmccloskey/
In this episode I had the pleasure of talking to Luke Wilson. I first met Luke on our CrossFit Level 1 Course and we have stayed in touch ever since. Luke's business has gone from strength to strength as he has developed The Fitness Factory with his business partner, which is a military style Bootcamp and it's something Luke is super proud of as you can hear throughout the episode. We discuss how transitioning from the military, specifically the Royal Marines was challenging and how he brings to community, in it together ethos into the work he does with all his clients. We both share a deep love for our Bootcamps and we discuss that at length. This is a different episode. for sure. We both recorded for own own shows so ti was very much a chat as you would have over coffee as we opened up on our own experiences with Mental Health and the things we have learnt, changed and reflected on from them. Lee has an incredible story to tell and openly discussed how his relationship with food was a comfort for him in times where he struggled with the sudden passing of a close friend. Lee openly discusses his experiences with counselling and shared some gems about self confidence which I loved. I also opened up erohaps more than ever and shared some information about some life changing experiences and I hope all listening can understand and relate. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions for me. This is one of those episodes where feedback will certainly be welcomed as they all are but it's very raw for me to discuss things still. Below you can find Lee's social platforms where he puts out superb content. https://www.instagram.com/lmthompson1993/ https://www.instagram.com/flatwhitechats/
What an episode this is. The Lean Machine have been figures I have looked up to within the Fitness Industry for years now and they themselves were pretty much the first on to YouTube providing Fitness content over a decade ago. They have years of experience coaching both in person and online and we discuss common things we find ourselves supporting our clients with most, mainly self sabotage and the importance of enjoying your training journey. John and Leon talk about how their own fitness journey has developed and how that has developed their coaching too. We also spoke about how becoming dads has changed their approach to things too as they look to evaluate their own content atm and where they want to head next which is super exciting as they branch out into the world of coffee. If you want to see more of The Lean Machines these are the best places to find more of their awesomeness: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theleanmachinesofficial/ You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheLeanMachines TLM Radio Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/tlm-radio/id1450403037 As always please share rate and review as it helps me spread my message further. So the title doesn't quite give the podcast away. This is a short hopefully motivational podcast that tells you you will be ok without motivations but the importance of using it in the onset and as and when it peaks!1 Motivation is huge when wanting to make a change and starting things off like a weight loss journey for example but it doesn't always stay around but how do you get stuff done without it? Well you set up your own routine and rituals and make sure your REASON is clear!! If you enjoyed this podcast please let me know and share across social media so we can spread the message! https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
This week was another solo episode. It was a Q 7 A type form so topics ranged from protein to mindset and everything in between. I get very passionate on the mindset side of things so as always would welcome any feedback. I am loving recording this podcast and can't wait to bring you more episodes soon as my own confidence grows. Please do leave a review if you are enjoying them and head over to my social media to continue to the conversation. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
So I thought I would do a semi reflective birthday special. Some really random thoughts and an insight into me and my life but the main points are motivational, mindset and routine based. I am really proud of how this episode turned out. Its punchy and its short snippets on things to think about and reflect on in your own life. Key take aways are: Know your 5 key people Time is precious Live your life Be happy Take Ownership!!! I hope you enjoy and as always please feel free to share across all social media platforms. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
Solo episode this week and fo the next few weeks as I touch on a few more personal episodes so please do let me know any feedback on these. This week I talk through 4 Lessons my varried training journey has taught me and its crazy how applicable they all are across multiple facets of our lives. Two of my life mantras come up as well: Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. If you can control it, you can change it and if you can change it you can improve it. If you want to share, reach out or ask me a question you can reach me below https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
WOW what an episode - Josh gave so much value within this hour its insane. We spoke through so much. Our focus started with better understanding your relationship with food from Sociological, Physiological and Psychological view points and discussing how you have control with that relationship. A healthy diet is so much more than just consuming foods we deem as healthy. Josh provides a great way of analysing your diet in a quadrant style. We then had a few questions around fasting, training, dietary fats and women in strength training. This was one of my favourite questions and common myths we spoke about - how women shouldn't be concerned with getting too bulky when weight training because the benefits far far out weigh the perceived negatives. Josh has a great no bullshit, science approach to coaching and training and gave so many valuable examples throughout this episode. If you want to see more of Josh's work head over to the below links https://www.instagram.com/joshtaylorpt/ https://www.joshtaylorpt.com/optin1584199229844 Reviews and shares will help this podcast continue to grow so please feel free to reach out and share. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
AWESOME Episode this week with Ben Coomber and thank you to those who provided questions for him. To start with we discussed time management and Ben focussed on two key elements, understanding your own expectations and having a plan. With a lot of change happening at the moment we spoke about where to start with making a plan if you wanted to make a life change tomorrow. This was the bulk of the podcast as well as discussing the importance of sleep and nutrition along with doing things just because you enjoy them. This is where the Routine Vs Chaos scale was discussed and this is a great image for understanding how you are copping and where your exceptions should sit on an individual basis at the moment. Ben has a wealth of nutritional knowledge and he provided superb answers on supplementation and how you should do your own research into them before providing guidance on fuelling for long events. As always I asked the final 3 surprise questions which Ben gave some great responses too that will certainly inspire. I talk about intent most days with my team. What is your intent within the exercise, your goals and your life. It sounds big and it sounds scary but living with intent means taking ownership over your life and your actions. in the podcast we go through 8 ways you can live with Intent, turn up the focus on the microscope of your life. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
Back to a solo show and I had a great fun with this one... I have a few solo shows coming up and then some more amazing guests lined up too! So where do we start with Metabolism... well we need to understand how it works and what elements if any we have control over. The bulk of your metabolism focuses around the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) for short. This simply put is the energy we need to sustain life so basically the fuel system for the chemical reactions within our bodies that keep us alive. From there we discussed how BMR may vary depending on gender, muscle mass, fat mass and age etc and those same factors can help us understand why it may seem like your metabolism;ism has slowed a huge factor for this is age. On top of metabolism I discussed the other factors at play when it comes to our total energy burn on any given day, your Total Daily Energy Expenditure. Have a listen and if you have any questions lets continue the conversation on my social media. As always please share, rate and review to help me spread the word! When you record a podcast and you literally can't wait for it to be out in the big wide world! This sis that episode!! We could have talked for hours and I'm sure we will do a part 2 one day as well! So Bernie is a Health & Lifestyle Coach, Running Coach, amazing mum of 2, Asics Ambassador and so much more. With a Phd in Sports Psychology and and a Masters in Lifestyle Medicine which together Bernie combines into her Body and Mind approach to coaching she truly is an expert in the topics we discussed. Bernie kindly talks you through her own incredible journey which I found emotional and how that spurred her to make the career change from academia to the coaching she does today. We covered running and its positive effects on mental health to start and spoke about how running needs to implemented with a plan like everything else, especially right now. We then went on to discuss what stress actually is and how we can understand our of own thresholds and red flags, specifically from a mental health point of view. The stress bucket analogy we focussed on paints such a clear a picture and we discussed varying tools and tactics you can use to manage your own individual bucket. we spoke about a vide on YouTube which demonstrates this and that is linked below https://youtu.be/ld5JypUYT-o Bernie provided some great references to books which are linked below along with her instagram and website, which I have no doubt you will be looking into after listening to this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=when+the+body+says+no+gabor+mate&adgrpid=52869081573&gclid=CjwKCAjw8J32BRBCEiwApQEKgQALFSce5k1qZqT_XQF8yXYF5x_8CxV3cHroeY9JPo01WrUDLr-zvhoC3eIQAvD_BwE&hvadid=259070519502&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=1007127&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=3489279275557421929&hvtargid=kwd-361110709597&hydadcr=24460_1816155&tag=googhydr-21&ref=pd_sl_96nv4jg2hp_b https://www.bernadettedancy.co.uk https://www.instagram.com/bernadette_dancy_healthcoach/
SLEEP- perhaps the biggest part of our health we overlook! In this solo episode I break apart the stages of sleep, talk about how much we need and the importance fo sleep. I go over the side effects of a lack of sleep and then give you a few top tips so you can use to improve both your sleep quality and quantity. I loved recording this episode and I think its great place to listen and then start actively thinking about your sleep quality. Both Ross and myself have military backgrounds and there is no denying they have shaped our character, habits and the way in which we approach things. Resilience, ownership, integrity and accountability are all words which are used a lot throughout this episode. Ross himself has been on one hell of a journey and it has been great to watch him flourish as a friend over the last 2 years, I have watched him coach and his care towards his clients is incredible, he has adapted his coaching over the years in order to balance pushing his clients and supporting them with their goals and achieving what he wants from business and life at the same time. We addressed the topic of Covid -19 but also Ross's approach to life in general, that Marine mindset to achieve, keep on pushing forward but also to adapt when things don't always go to plan. This was a great chat with Ross and if you want to follow more of his work his website and social media platforms are listed below: https://ross-coaching.com https://www.facebook.com/rosscoaching101/ https://www.instagram.com/ross.coaching/
Wow, where to begin.... This podcast is worth every single second plus 10x over. Hannah truly is an expert when it comes to all things female hormonal health and she provided information, care, support, answers to all our questions and gave tips both holistically and mendicity throughout this podcast. We went over the stages of the Menopause journey and how that can vary so much person to person, symptoms, signs, and tips for dealing with them. We always highlighted that if any of your symptoms are severe you were unsure on anything to speak to your GP or seek outs Hannah's support at her private clinic, which at present is operating through video conferences. Hannah provided so many examples of the websites to go to in order to gain a further understanding on certain topics and they are listed below including her website first as I really do think reading through the information on there is a great starting point. I am incredibly honoured that Hannah took the time out of her busy GP and Private Practice schedule in order to answer the wonderful questions that had been asked and I truly hope that the information shared by Hannah in the podcast is helpful in many ways to the women that will no doubt listen to it. You can also find the link to Hannah’s business Facebook account below too should you wish to contact her further and she shares a superb information all for free to that page which may continue to help you after this podcast. https://drhannahshort.co.uk https://www.facebook.com/DrHannahShort/ National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome (NAPS) https://www.pms.org.uk/ International Assocation for Premenstrual Disorders (IAPMD): https://iapmd.org/ Me & My Menopausal Vagina: https://www.mymenopausalvagina.co.uk/ Menopause Doctor (good, all round info on menopause and HRT) https://www.menopausedoctor.co.uk/ Jo Divine (articles on women's sexual health) https://www.jodivine.com/articles/womens-sexual-health The Daisy Network (charity for women with Premature Menopause/POI): https://www.daisynetwork.org/ Understanding the risks of breast cancer (infographic) https://thebms.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/WHC-UnderstandingRisksofBreastCancer-MARCH2017.pdf
WOW! What a podcast! I was so excited to have Annie Nunn and Deborah Kemp-Smith on the podcast for this episode, they both have so much passion for the way people move, train and feel, which really comes through. We spend time covering Heart Rate Variability Vs the Mind Body Connection and how we can best feel what training is suitable for our bodies on any given day. Both Annie and Deb share stories surrounding their personal experiences with Overtraining and we finish by providing useful tips and strategies to help make sure your training/exercise continues to support both your physical and mental health any this time. I will be very real I am talking to myself as I say most of this and feel like if it is relevant for me then it is relevant for you too. I focussed on re setting a goal and making sure you don't ignore any feelings that may be building up by papering over them with false positivity. Welcome back! I am super excited to bring you this podcast as I have been answering numerous questions and understandably there is a lot of concern around nutrition and diets at this time. Initially Ollie focussed on maintaining muscle mass and the role your diet has to play within that, focussing on protein, types and protein and how best to split that across your day. Some great nuggets in this sections as we related it back to everyone in the general population on the challenges we face with COVID-19 too. From there we discussed immune support and how you can not boost your immune system but instead where to focus your diet to ensure you give your immune system the best support possible at this time. This lead us superbly into Ollie's 3 top tips to stay on top of your nutrition at this time.... find your fruit bowl.... If you have any further questions you would like to ask Ollie or should you now wish to work with him further and schedule a consultation call you can reach him at the below links and I could not recommend his support enough!1 https://www.ownutrition.co.uk https://www.instagram.com/ownutrition_uk/ OR oliver@ownutrition.co.uk If you wish to reach out to me the links are the same https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
So no intro, no attempt to edit I just wanted to send a message out that I hope is received in the right way. here is a short summary of it: 1. It is ok to not be ok! 2. It is ok to not have motivation right now to master this perfect Covid-19 Routine 3. Take each day as it comes and set yourself one task/one habit at a time to minimise overwhelms as you adapt to the new circumstances you find yourself in. If anyone wants to talk anything through please reach out below and I am happy to help :) https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
I went on a trip to London to record this podcast. James Smith is someone I respect hugely in the industry, he cares a huge amount about his clients and the standard of his service to them. We hardly get chance to catch up so it was really enjoyable to chat on this podcast. I left the structure quite lose and our main topics are: 2 Training myths or mistakes and how to avoid them. 2 Nutrition myths or mistakes and how to avoid them. m We crossed over slightly and repeatedly came back to avoiding the YOYO mentality. Instead picking one target to change or one habit to add, working on that first and then adding more from there. Controlling the controllables too was a huge focus. I also had some surprise questions for James at the end. I hope you enjoy as always any questions please reach out on either of our social media. James can be found at the links below: https://www.instagram.com/thelyfestyleproject/ https://www.instagram.com/jamessmith/ https://www.facebook.com/thelyfestyleproject/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&eid=ARA9oaJR1dZfxLc_qmwDyNgs2Tlh9zHZNIHLWiQSLDt4Oh3aWdLMRM0GCygfJMBzBC-mumxz2SQGT3jo James discussed his private group Female Weight Loss, No points, No calories, No sins which you an find below too: https://www.facebook.com/groups/femaleweightloss/ Or you can reach out me at the following :) https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/

In this podcast we discuss: Annie's background and some difficulties within it The birth of Ensofit Understanding how the body moves and its importance Understanding Stress management when training Finally some surprise questions to which Annie's answers were superb and there are certainly some take away nuggets throughout this podcast. So Series 2 is here!! Wow I am super excited to get this podcast up and running again and thank you for awaiting this episode eagerly. I wanted to discuss journaling following the success of the seminar I delivered at the 2020 Vision retreat I delivered for some of Team Willis Fitness. Most of whom are still using the journal provided and reaping the benefits from it. Journals can come across as almost a cliche now but I don't want that to be the case for you. In this podcast I provide some definitions but also some methods and tools you can use your journal for as it doesn't have be necessarily 'dear diary'. Every tool of habit or goals you set has to work for you in order to provide a benefit or addition to your life, remember that. I hope you enjoy and as always if you have any questions please reach out via message on the below platforms https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
We officially have a podcast introduction which I am pretty happy with :) This was more a brain dump to be honest as I love the mindset side of stuff and just thought I would put something out there for people to start to think about where their current trajectory is taking them. It can be quite hard to make such big changes in life, I know I am not always good at things like that, but I am trying to be better and it is thinking of things in this manner which certainly helps!! As always please like, subscribe and share this podcast if you found it helpful https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/ https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/
I really enjoyed recording this podcast. I honestly believe there is at least 2 golden nuggets in here for everyone especially on the mindset from as we enter 2020. There are some rhetorical questions in here which if you want to message me and answer them so we can continue the conversation then please do. As always if you enjoy the podcast please rate and leave a review which will help me build this in 2020. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
Welcome back! A MASSIVE THANK YOU if you have made it this far into the podcast nearly at double figures and going strong with guests lined up to come onto the podcast soon. This week I wanted to speak about a massive passion of mine and that is Group Training, having come from a team sport background I really enjoy team training, its is the corner stone of what Willis Fitness is about. The community I have created being Stowmarket Bootcamp is the reason behind this podcast and the topics I cover. I really think there are some unique benefits to training as part of a group these include positive effects on targets, motivation and confidence. If you want to talk to me about Stowmarket Bootcamp or any other elements of my work reach out across the following socials: https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/ https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/
So some of you may or may not know, and like many people of my generation, I have my own story on the effects Anxiety and dEpression have had on my life, a story which one day I may share in greater detail. BUT today is about helping even just one person pick a part of their life that they can change or improve in order to protect and support their own mental health. I am a firm a believer that we have far more control over our mental health then a lot of us believe and the first part to changing how our mental health is effected is by talking back some of the control. % things you can think ab out today are: 1. Sleep 2. Nutrition 3. Training 4. Communication 5. Note taking Have listen and if you take action on anything please let me know as it would be great to continue the conversation. As always you can reach me on the following social platforms: https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
So this was more a discussion based podcast, I had an idea in mind and pressed record on my thoughts basically. When I work with people I always look to find the best route to their goals that means the least disruption tot their life and I never enforce any beliefs I may have onto anyone. In saying that I a big believer in something called the 80/20 rule. 80% of you energy intake coming from whole foods that require preparation and give you all the essential nutrients that you require and because you have then ticked that box 20% of you energy intake can come from anything that keeps you accountable and on track and that will vary from person to person. This means we move away from the good vs bad food labels that we see banded around and instead focus on well it just has a higher nutrient content and this has slightly less nutritional value but I enjoy it so I will keep a small amount in my life etc. A calorie is fundamentally a unit of energy and the number 1600cal is the same target for 2 people however, they could both hit that target but receive drastically different nutrients, have varying energy and satiety levels and as a result be living two very different lives. As always if you enjoyed this podcast please feel free to leave a review or message me and continue this conversation. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
I love this episode even though that sounds off for me to say that. I am really confident there are at least 2 - 3 nutritional nuggets for you to take away. The focus of this episode is based on Nutritional strategies and understanding nutritional importance for fat loss. So I based the whole episode on fat loss being the main goal/objective and from that I discussed a pyramid of importance. At the pyramids base was calories and understanding that the principle to achieving your fat loss goals is a sustained calorie deficit/ over time. From there we talk about macro nutrient importance, the nutritional properties fo you food, 80:20 rule and supplementation. I throw in an analogy based on buying everything you need for your house which I think paints a clear picture :) As always enjoy and if you want to share please do and tag me in the posts. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT/
I LOVE this topic and could speak all day about it! I got a little tongue tied at points with Sir Dave Brailsford's name! This podcast talks about how often taking action is the hardest step but it doesn't always need to be. If you apply the 1% Rule or the Aggregation of Marginal Gains, making as many small improvements as you can that lead to a huge increase in performance or results. This was the exact principle that Sir Dave Brailsford applied with the hugely successful Olympic Cycling teams and Team Sky at present, leading to numerous gold medals and Tour De France victories. I speak about those changes and provide example as to how you can go away from this podcast apply those 1%'s to your every day life in order to get multiple steps closer to your goal without the fear fo taking dramatic or drastic action that is unsustainable e.g. juice diets. As always if you have listen and like what your hear please leave a review or share with friends and family. Send me a message below fig you enjoyed the podcast would be great to continue the conversation. https://www.instagram.com/bethwillis_pt/ https://www.facebook.com/willisfitnessPT
