Send us a textIn this episode of Breakfast with Tiffany Show, host Tiffany Rossdale and her fabulous co-host, Maki Gingoyon, take listeners on a wild journey through one of her most memorable experiences in Los Angeles. After arriving in LA on a long-haul flight, Tiffany found herself in a chaotic and surreal situation when she was invited to DJ at a mansion party in the heart of Beverly Hills. The party, hosted by a wealthy individual, was far from the glamorous event she expected. Instead, she was faced with an environment teeming with loud music, excessive partying, and people engaging in reckless behavior. Despite the allure of the Beverly Hills address, the scene was filled with unfamiliar faces, unpredictable energy, and moments that left her feeling unsafe and uneasy. As the night progressed, Tiffany recalls navigating through the overwhelming experience, from witnessing questionable interactions to dealing with her own sense of discomfort. She paints a vivid picture of the extravagant yet hollow nature of such parties, where luxury often masks underlying issues of excess and indulgence. In an unfamiliar place, with nowhere to retreat to, Tiffany reflects on the moments where she had to rely on her instincts to stay grounded amidst the chaos. It wasn't just about the party or the celebrity-filled atmosphere but more about how easily one can be swept into situations that test their boundaries and values.Throughout the episode, Tiffany also explores the contrasts between her former party-filled life and the mindful, balanced path she follows today as a transformational lifestyle coach. She delves into the lessons she learned from that night, from recognizing the importance of self-care to understanding the power of saying “no” in environments that don't align with your values. For Tiffany, this experience marked a turning point in her life, offering her a chance to reflect on what really matters: inner peace, authenticity, and self-preservation. Her DJ career opened doors to glamorous yet chaotic experiences, but it also gave her valuable insights into the importance of personal boundaries.By sharing her story, Tiffany hopes to inspire listeners to be mindful of the environments they immerse themselves in, and to always prioritize their well-being over the temptation of fast-paced, hedonistic lifestyles. She encourages listeners to remember that even in moments of discomfort or danger, there is always an opportunity for growth and transformation. This episode is not just about a wild night in Beverly Hills; it's about learning to navigate life with clarity, confidence, and the courage to choose better for yourself.---Maki's Website: https://makigingoyon.com/  Support the showBreakfast With Tiffany Show Official Facebook Page ~ https://www.facebook.com/breakfastwithtiffanyshow Tiffany's Instagram Account ~ https://www.instagram.com/tiffanyrossdaleofficial/ For coaching sessions & programs with Tiffany, check out her official page ~ https://www.tiffanyrossdale.com Breakfast With Tiffany Show Youtube Channel ~ https://bit.ly/3vIVzhE Breakfast With Tiffany Show Official Page ~ https://www.tiffanyrossdale.com/podcast For questions, requests, collaborations and comments, feel free to reach us via our e-mail ~ breakfastwithtiffanyshow@outlook.com

This episode gives credence to the saying that "there are no coincidences in life." It's being released on the eve of World Mental Health Day, October 10th. Every year on this date, I marvel at the mental health journey I've been blessed to embark on thanks to this podcast. Further, this episode was recorded on September 20th. Eight years ago on this date, I'd hit rock bottom in a psychiatric hospital in Chicago - divorce, unemployment, complete detachment from my kids, and the nadir of my mental and physical health. I'm thankfully in a better place now. This is in part because I "did the work," but also because of my incredible wife Shelly. She pushed for me to get an accurate clinical diagnosis, pursue an effective treatment regimen, and many other factors that helped me get to where I am today. I'm living proof of the pivotal importance of caregivers in the journey of adults with bipolar disorder and other forms of serious mental illness (SMI). On this World Mental Health day, I dedicate this episode to my wife and the millions of caregivers out there. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and as beneficiaries we're eternally grateful for your perseverance and determination. Hopefully this episode gives you some comfort in the storm. This week's guest, Mitul Desai, has emerged as a champion and voice for these unsung heroes and, given my own lived experience, I was thrilled to cross paths with him through organizations such as Indiaspora and South Asian Americans for Change (SAAFC). Mitul has been helping care for his brother, who lives with schizophrenia, for the past two decades. Mitul began his career working in healthcare law and finance, and he's held leadership roles in product development and data services. He also served in the Obama Administration. Mitul serves on the Board of NAMI-NYC and has written about his family's experience in Forbes and USA Today. Mitul created The Care Hack with Dr. Eli Shalenberg to ensure that no other family has to suffer in isolation the way his did. The episode kicks off with the standard "Question of the Week," asking, "If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?" Joe shares his dream of visiting Scotland to connect with his ancestral roots. Kurt expresses his desire to explore iconic American landmarks like The Grand Canyon. Meanwhile, Charles reveals his wish to travel to Tokyo for an authentic sushi experience. Following the lively travel discussion, the traditional roll of the dice lands on the "How do I...?" segment. Their honest and supportive dialogue highlights the significance of addressing mental well-being. Next, the dice bring the "What are you Nerding out about?" segment into focus. The trio also shares their cautious optimism about the newly announced Spider-Man Noir series from Amazon, sparking excitement and speculation about this upcoming addition to the Spider-Verse. The "Council of Dads" segment follows, where the hosts weigh the pros and cons of unions, providing thoughtful perspectives on the topic. Their discussion is lightened with a couple of humorous dad jokes about unions and therapists, showcasing their knack for blending serious conversations with light-hearted moments. Wrapping up the episode, the "Daddy Tell Me a Story" segment features Charles recounting experiences with anger issues in his family. This sparks a meaningful conversation among the hosts about managing feelings and the importance of emotional intelligence. Introduction: Minutes 0 to 3:30 We should have an episode out next week and then we'll be off on October 28th. I recently discovered a British woman on YouTube who feeds the foxes in her suburban neighborhood. I also love videos of huskies. Here's a link to the video I mention where the husky is complaining and the German Shepherd is chill. (The husky has since passed over the rainbow bridge.) Here's a link to the video Chandra mentions of the Husky who refuses to come in after it snowed. Chandra loves this interview with Daniil Medvedev from after he beat Alcaraz at the US Open. There's also a cute interview where he's doing a puzzle. Chandra is going to watch the Beckham docuseries. Royals: Minutes (3:30) to 20:00 Harry and Meghan were in New York City as part of their work with the Archewell Foundation for World Mental Health Day. They were in a terrible car chase with the paparazzi the last time they were in New York, in May. This time they brought a security team. Chandra thinks some of that security might be NYPD. The British press was snarky about their security. Harry and Meghan visited a school in Brooklyn and also took part in a discussion with at the World Mental Health Day Festival with families of children have been bullied online. They were on a panel with US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy. The Sussexes have been advocating for regulating social media for a long time. We remember Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen's testimony in Congress in late 2021 and Mark Zuckerberg's testimony in 2018. Congress is not regulating these awful social media companies because they have no clue. I pay a segment of Meghan's discussion on that panel. Chandra does not think Meghan will return to Instagram. We remember when her friend posted a photo of avocado toast and the press connected it to war and drought. The Waleses hired an entertainment producer, Pippa Harris, as director of their Royal Foundation. Pippa runs a production company with director Sam Mendes and is one of the producers of Call the Midwife. We're surprised that show is still running after 12 seasons but we both only watched the first two seasons. The story about William hiring Harris was written by Richard Eden and framed as if Harry and Meghan would be jealous of William. It was ridiculous. William's private secretary is leaving after the news that William wants to hire a CEO. Kate hasn't had a private secretary in over a year. She tried to hire someone but that woman quit before she started. The Waleses went to Birmingham for World Mental Health day where they spoke to young people. I thought Kate's speech was a little better than usual, but Chandra says she hasn't improved. William just gave basic examples of improving mental health like getting outdoors and talking to friends. The Royal Foundation also commissioned a survey of 3,000 young people on how mental health is important. Kate went to Nottingham Trent University to talk with students about mental health. She wore a cream Sezane sweater and skirt that was very Meghan. Kate and William also stepped out for an event with SportsAid, one of Kate's patronages. They talked to young athletes about mental health. Kate wore a blue Zara blazer and jeans. I say the royals need to redistribute their wealth and Chandra agrees. The royals own so much land and have massive wealth. Chandra mentions that William is no longer talking about housing the homeless on duchy property. Comments of the Week: Minutes (20:00) to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Chaine on the post about William's favorite emoji. My comment of the week is from Miranda on the post where Aaron Rodgers said he wanted to debate Travis Kelce. Thanks for listening bitches!

A “neurodivergent” person refers to a person on the autism spectrum or, more generally, to someone whose brain processes information in a way that is not typical of most individuals. These people may have learning disabilities, attention deficit and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and Tourette's syndrome. Through a neurodiversity lens, such conditions reflect different ways of being that are all normal human experiences.“Neurodiversity” is usually used to describe a group of neurodivergent individuals, it also refers to all of humankind because everyone has a unique way of processing information.Fall Mocktail Ginger Fizz3oz still apple cider1oz fresh lime juice6 mint leaves1tsp apple cider vinegarpinch powdered cinnamon3oz ginger aleClap mint leaves, and add to apple cider, fresh lime juice, apple cider vinegar, powdered cinnamon then shake over ice. Trauma, Transformation, and Healing - with Deb Dana, Rob Preece, Dr. David Robinson-Morris, and Scott Snibbe

Trauma can take different forms. One can speak of individual trauma, ancestral trauma, and collective trauma. All of these are happening on different, yet interconnected levels of (all!) our lives. Historically, the word ‘trauma' comes from the Greek, and literally means ‘wound' or can be taken in its active form of ‘to wound'. Although originally the word was taken to mean physical wounding, Sigmund Freud was the first (in his book Beyond the Pleasure Principle of 1920) who would use it in his psychological practice with patients to describe their psychological wounding. Currently, trauma is often defined by its response of fear, anxiety, a feeling of overwhelm, and symptoms like PTSD (Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder).In other words, trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of self and their ability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences. It is also important to recognise that trauma does not discriminate and is pervasive throughout the world. A World Mental Health survey conducted by the World Health Organization found that at least a third of the more than 125,000 people surveyed in 26 different countries had experienced trauma. While there are no objective criteria to evaluate which events will cause post-trauma symptoms, circumstances typically involve the loss of control, betrayal, abuse of power, helplessness, pain, confusion and/or loss. The event need not rise to the level of war, natural disaster, nor personal assault to affect a person profoundly and alter their experiences. Traumatic situations that cause post-trauma symptoms vary quite dramatically from person to person. Indeed, it is very subjective and it is important to bear in mind that it is defined more by its response than its trigger. In this episode of Science & Wisdom LIVE, 3 experts - Deb Dana, Rob Preece, and Dr. David Robinson-Morris - discuss the nature of trauma and how we can deal with it in a skilful way that is healing and transformative. The dialogue is moderated by Scott Snibbe, who is also host and producer of a Skeptic's Path to Enlightenment, and will focus on topics such as the connection between psychological healing and contemplative practices, how to understand trauma through the lenses of polyvagal theory, and the relationship between individual and collective trauma.

Meet Ashley Deaver with It's a Sensory World, a local Farmer's Branch, TX serving the special needs population in the education field.  Most of us are familiar with 5 senses, but we actually have 8 senses. A sensory gym is a therapeutic indoor play structure with swings, rock wall, and springless trampoline - and so much more.  These tools help develop foundational support and regulation of the other 3 senses, including inner ear (balance), hunger, and sadness,  Founded in 2007, the founder opened the first open concept sensory gym in Texas, and only the second in the nation. Over 350 children on the autism spectrum use their facilities and services every day. To work with It's a Sensory World or donate to this great organization,  go to ItsASensoryWorld.org, or email Ashley@itsasensoryworld.org.Want your product or service to get more exposure? Let's chat about how important Mental Health Days are & some warning signs that we should take one as soon as possible.Show Notes:The culture we live in values work over well-being so much that it drives people to their unraveling. It's terrible. And when someone wants to stand up for themselves & say it's all too much, many employers will just find someone else who is eager to fill the role, until they meet the same ending as the former. It's sad. But I believe the thing that can help with keeping a balance making the time to take care of yourself & incorporating some mental health days.I didn't know that World Mental Health was established in 1992. It's amazing that it has been a day on the calendar for this long & it's still not something widely spoken about in a positive way. There is still so much shame attached to admitting you're struggling & needing help. People think they will appear weak, when really seeking help is a sign of strength because you are actually doing something about your struggle. Unlike many people who let it fester & build up until it becomes a bigger problem than it needed to be.And this is why I wanted to chat about the importance of taking mental health days. I  want to talk about how to recognize that you need a mental health day & how to go about taking one if it's not something that is recognized where you work. Let's start with a few warning signs that will help you recognize that a mental health day is needed:You are having trouble with your sleep. You are unusually short-tempered.You're having trouble focusing. You're getting sick all the time. You don't feel like you have enough time to recharge.Your normal coping mechanisms are not helping you deal with stress. Now let's talk about how to go about taking the mental health day that you very much deserve. You can schedule and take days off with accrued vacation time, you can call in sick & use sick time or not get paid for that missed day or ask for a day off without pay. Sick Time:If your stress & overwhelm hit it's maximum without notice, I suggest you take a sick day. Call in sick to your employer & take the day to yourself. If you have accrued sick time, then you can still get paid for being out, which is a nice bonus.Vacation Time:If you know you are getting to a point of feeling overwhelmed or know you will need a break coming up soon, schedule it in advance. Unpaid Personal Day:If you don't have vacation time or sick time, most companies give the option of taking unpaid time off. And I understand if you're weary of doing this because you need every dollar you can get, but you have to consider what it will give you in return if this is your only option. Can you actually wait until you have accrued time to take a day for yourself? Are you already struggling so much & it would be nice to have some downtime to regroup & recover? Could you consider spending less on a couple of other things to make up for not getting paid that day in exchange for taking care of yourself? You gotta ask yourself if it's worth it to keep struggling for who knows how long or take a small loss to something that could help you become a little stronger.Thank you again for listening & I hope this episode was helpful.Come visit me on my Instagram page @sabrinajoyperozzo to say hi or on Clubhouse @sabrinajperozzo to chat!Have any questions, comments or feedback?  Send me an email at realpositivegirlpodcast@gmail.com!Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/sabrinajoy)

Working in Infrastructure can be enormously demanding. We work under tight deadlines. We deal with complex problems. There's no question that the pressure of the work that we do can have an adverse effect on our mental health. In recognition of World Mental Health day we are sharing a conversation that Nick Chism, chair of the IPFA recently had with Paul Farmer, CEO of Mind, the UK's leading mental health charity.  This interview was originally published by the IPFA as part of their "Our Voices, Our Stories" series. This conversation is useful and insightful precisely because it deals with mental health in the context of the work we do in infrastructure.  We're really grateful to the IPFA for allowing us to share this conversation with you. IPFA is the leading association for infrastructure and energy professionals world wide. We highly recommend that you check them out at https://www.ipfa.org/Find out more about MIND at https://www.mind.org.ukSpecial thanks to Daisy Brooker and Madeline Lowe of the IPFA. This episode was edited and mixed by Bren Russell.

Ang is back for a World Mental Health Day/Month episode of #yaysofourlives which, as always, involved lots of tangents and digressions before, after and in between our actual serious chats about the topic. Such is the result of voting Ang in as a regular co-host of the segment - you're literally getting our real-life catch up after a weekend of her on night shifts and me being nocturnal, so we're both as delirious and scattered as ever. In fact, I can't even listen back to these episodes and always get a slight vulnerability hangover afterwards because, even for someone quite comfortable with oversharing, conversations with Ang are among my least guarded, least filtered and least planned (unlike our regular episodes where I know the topics and control the structure or on social media where I pick the moment and context). But I think unguarded conversations between friends are the essence of the mental health conversation, so it actually seems like the perfect way to contribute to this month's reflections. Sadly for you all, but inevitably given that Ang is involved, there's also some poo talk in between, Lonely Planet culture lessons, a few beautiful yayborhood watch stories and who even remembers what else!? I never think anyone is going to share our quirky sense of humour but it's been SO lovely to see many of you do - much love to you all, lovely yayborhood! With the batteries recharged and footy finals in full swing, we thought it high time to kick off season 2 of the Ball & All Podcast.  To coincide with World Mental Health day this Saturday October 10, we welcome the founding members (Jackson Connellan and Lachie Jones) of Lennox Head based men's mental health group 'The Healthy Minds Club' into the shed - along with our biggest crowd to date. With both Jackson and in particularly Lachie losing multiple friends earlier in the year and with suicide being the single biggest killer of young men in Australia - these lads got together, had the tough conversations and from those conversations, The Healthy Minds Club was born.  Now a registered not for profit charity and with 350+ members and counting, what these boys have managed to achieve in such a short space of time and the difference they are making to the lives of young men in their Northern Rivers area, should be commended. Also on the podcast this week, we preview what is to come in season 2. We go 'Around the Grounds' and give our tips on who we think will win this year's NRL Grand Final and we cross the ditch to get Wallaby Assistant Coach, Scott Wisemantel's thoughts on the upcoming Bledisloe Cup clash with the All Blacks. As always we would like to give a big shout out to our supporters Bareback Biltong, 44 Constructions for the new swear jar and Peter Wynn Score for the 1986 communal water bottle. Let's get the ball rolling...

To raise awareness about September being the Sucide prevention Month, and World Mental Health day coming up on October 10, we thought we'd invite someone who has been working in the mental health industry for the past year. Currently a clinical psychologist at Cathena Education and her own company Amicus Therapia, Gyanada has helped many in need. In this episode, we discuss with her the process of thinking from the other side of the room. We talk to her about what she thinks are some things that people can do and be when things don't go their way. Everyone's life is a twist, and we all have mixed emotions throughout a day. One moment we are happy, and the very next, without knowing what happened, we are going down a spiral of self doubt. Listen in as Gyanada talks about what we should do to control our emotions. We talk about self help, getting diagnosed with a mental health disorder, talking to friends about problems, and much more. We, at Kadam, are big advocates for therapy because oftentimes, those in therapy have to be there because those that should be are not.
