At Bellomo & Associates, our commitment to education extends beyond our clients. We learned long ago that professionals locally and across Pennsylvania can also benefit from practical education in estate planning and elder law. Our free professional boot camps differentiate us from most other law firms. As Jeff describes the essential topics we cover—from basic concepts to advanced strategies—you'll see how the health care and financial planning professionals who attend can better support their clients. Participants earn continuing education credits (CEUs) while learning and, afterward, enjoy a fun networking reception that's great for strengthening community partnerships. (05:09) Nearly 80 social workers enrolled in our first boot camp because of the need to better understand the legal issues their clients were facing. (06:49) The success and popularity of the boot camps made it clear that a multi-professional boot camp was needed. Nurses, nurse practitioners, administrators, CPAs, CFPs, insurance agents, and others can earn six (6) CEUs. (09:00) Participants learn the basics of estate planning and more advanced concepts such as taxation, asset protection, probate v. non-probate, beneficiaries, and much more. Afterward, attendees enjoy a fun networking event, which can be especially worthwhile given the range of professions in attendance. (10:36) Our take-home binder is a valuable guide that attendees keep among their most frequently used professional resources. (15:25) We are grateful for our sponsors who enable us to provide our boot camp free of charge. Sponsorship opportunities are available. ABOUT BELLOMO & ASSOCIATES Jeffrey R. If LinkedIn is to be believed UX design is a hot mess right now. People are regularly announcing that death of UX, complaining they cannot get jobs and entire companies are abandoning the term UX for product design. Not to mention the fact that AI will supposedly be replacing us all. If you care at all about improving the user experience, this will no doubt feel concerning. It certainly shocked me when I first saw the sheer number of doom and gloom comments. The Real State Of UXBut the more I looked into this the more I realized that this does not represent the reality. In fact the World Economic Forum believe that the UX profession will be one of the fastest growing roles over the next five years. They also identify deep human insight, strategic thinking, and leadership as key skills, all of which are inherent in the roll of UX.So where does this disparity between online sentiment and economic predictions come from? The problem lies in how people choose to define user experience design, and the fact that many fundamentally misunderstand the breadth and depth of the discipline. Many Misunderstand UXFor many, UX design has been largely synonymous with UI design. Sure, a UX designer might spend more time conducting user research and testing, but their primary deliverable is still a user interface. When you have this view of UX it is fair to say that things are dramatically changing at the moment.AI is fundamentally changing the nature of how we interact with technology and we may well see less interactions happen through a traditional user interface. There is a growing number of designers working on products these days and so adopting the title product designer instead makes sense.Add to this the fact that the market is over saturated with bootcamp graduates and it is not surprising that there is a feeling that UX is on the decline. But this really only look at a fraction of the user experience.Jared Spool put it well when he compared it to catering. He says it is like we are seeing a decline in demand for burgers and too many cooks who flip burgers. These burger flippers are worried, but instead of saying that burgers are in decline they are concluding people don't eat out anymore. They are suggesting all restaurants are in trouble, not just burger joints.UX Strategy is the FutureI believe UX design, in its broadest sense, is more in demand than ever before. But it's not just about tactics - it's about strategy. The work goes beyond making Figma files and user interfaces. Instead, it focuses on how organizations work, their culture, how they communicate, and all the ways people interact with them. The user interface is just a small piece of this bigger picture. We Need a New Generation of UX ChampionsThe trouble is few are equipped to fulfill this role. Bootcamps certainly don't teach it and many of those who find themselves in UX leadership roles have been given no training. To change how people see and value UX, we need new generation of leaders. These leaders must know what UX really encompasses and how to make positive changes in their organizations.I Want To Help You And UX EvolveWith all this in mind, I am relaunching my newsletter with a focus on UX strategy and leadership. After working in this field for 30 years and with things as they stand today, I feel this is the perfect time to share what I've learned. My hope is that I can give back to the community and maybe shape the future of UX to be about more than UI design. Realistically I am now in the latter part of my career and so my desire is to help the next generation of UX leaders and advocates. In each issue I am going to take you step-by-step through what true UX looks like and how to impact the entire user experience, not just the user interface.Ultimately the plan is to bring all of this together into a book. However, until then you can subscribe and join me on the journey. You can also signup at anytime in the future and take the email course from the beginning so you don't miss out on what I have covered to that point. My intention is to write this for anybody who cares about the user experience, not just user experience designers. As you will quickly discover, I believe that UX is an organization wide responsibility and that we all impact the experience whatever our role. But, I also want to help UX designers who want to do more than work on interfaces and move into leadership roles.I am hoping you will join me for this journey. For me this is a passion project and an attempt to finally ensure user experience gets the respect it deserves. However, that is only going to work if people like you join me.So, if that sounds good, you can subscribe below today.

At the end of each week, Mike Hosking takes you through the big-ticket items and lets you know what he makes of it all. Super Rugby: 7/10 Good start, good rugby, no one knows who is going to win and the crowds were okay. Jannik Sinner and tennis: 3/10 For a sport that I assumed didn't want to look shonky, it's got a very WWE vibe about it these days. Farmers: 9/10 At over $10 in dairy and regulation driven by reality, not fairy tales, it's no wonder they are feeling good. Bootcamps: 6/10 The report spoke well of the pilot. Pity the media didn't cover more of the report, as opposed to the Labour Party pile on. Debbie from the Māori Party: 1/10 When you are that detached from the world in which you are allegedly serving, and on holiday while you're displaying your ignorance, you've got to wonder. Mind you, as Rawiri Waititi so eloquently, and yet incorrectly, put it, it could be a hatch job. The Prime Minister says the argument for stopping bootcamps is ridiculous. Police found two bootcamp teens who'd absconded when they responded to an alleged carjacking in Hamilton over the weekend. One evaded Oranga Tamariki staff at the tangi of another participant who'd died in a crash and fled. Christopher Luxon told Heather du Plessis-Allan it's a defeatist and negative mindset to throw the towel in now. He says they're trying to change the life of even one of the 10 teens, one where they don't go down a path of gang life, violence, jail time, and welfare dependency. Luxon's given his assurance new Cook Strait ferries will be cheaper than previous plans. The Government's expected to announce the future of Interislander's fleet this week, a year after cancelling the previous government's project, citing cost blowouts. Luxon told du Plessis-Allan that despite confirming it wouldn't be $3 billion, he can't give any detail on the looming announcement. He says like a number of initiatives under the last Government, the previous ferry project started at one billion but ballooned to $3.2 billion. Today on the show... With the Government's boot camps running into trouble with kids absconding, going on the run and one participant even dying as a result of an accident - a proven boot camp doing similar things in Auckland can't get the Government or MPs to return their emails. Now, with cost cutting in the public service the funding has dried up. They got in touch with me and tonight I give them a voice! And the 'King of TikTok' is... PM Chris Luxon? Need I say more? Let's have a look at it shall we. Website: https://www.rova.nz/home/podcasts/duncan-garner---editor-in-chief.htmlInstagram: @DuncanGarnerpodcastTikTok: @DuncanGarnerpodcast
Labour is urging the Prime Minister to immediately end his government's boot camps, calling them a failed experiment and a significant risk to vulnerable youth. Labour's spokesperson for children Willow-Jean Prime spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
I do not buy the argument, which seems to have taken hold, that the boot camps trial has to be shut down immediately because two kids escaped and got arrested after allegedly stealing a car. If you haven't caught up on this, what's happened is that those two boot camp kids who ran away after the tangi last week have now been found... because they've been arrested. They allegedly hooked up with each other, found another couple of mates, went and nicked a car, ran from the cops and when the cops busted them one legged it with a machete (allegedly), tried to carjack another vehicle and then the police then apparently found knives and balaclavas. As a result Labour and the Greens are losing their minds, calling on the Government to end the boot camp trial immediately. But why? If anything this tells me how badly we need the boot camps to continue, because these are obviously very bad kids. You don't put a balaclava in your car unless you've got some pretty dark plans. This is already after you've committed two crimes that carry a maximum sentence of ten years each, which is why you're in the boot camp already. The boot camps haven't turned these kids into criminals. They already are criminals. Which is why they're in the boot camps. Ask yourself this - if we shut down the boot camps, what's the alternative? Jail? Letting them roam free, in which case they keep on committing these kinds of crimes? I don't see these two going on the run as a failure of the boot camp trial. I see it as a reason to keep doing the boot camp trial. Because how much do these kids need intervention if they are prepared to allegedly run around in a stolen car with balaclavas, knives and a machete?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The two teenagers who ran away from the Government's military bootcamps last week have been arrested. That is after allegedly stealing a car, running from the cops, and one individual trying then to carjack another car with a machete. But Former CEO of Business New Zealand Phil O'Reilly was on the welfare expert advisory group and says the boot camps do and will work. O'Reilly told Heather du Plessis-Allan the government needs to support participants reintegration into society. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The government is defending its decision to allow those running youth boot camps - including 'third-party providers' - to use force against young offenders. The Prime Minister was seemingly unaware the decision had been made during an interview earlier this morning. He was quick to change tack - backing the move and giving assurances physical force will only be used as "a last resort". Our political reporter Anneke Smith has more.
A leaked ministerial briefing has shown the Children's Minister acknowledged that giving boot camp providers the power to use force would raise the risk of abuse in custody. Children's Commissioner Dr Claire Achmad spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
The Children's Minister says force can be used by boot camp providers, but only in very strict conditions. The Government's proposing to allow the use of force for restraining youth offenders at military-style boot camps. A leaked ministerial document suggests this could increase the potential risk of abuse in custody. But Minister Karen Chhour told Mike Hosking the programme is being designed to keep young people and staff safe. She says they would use restraint if a child was going to abscond, or hurt themselves or someone else, which already happens in some facilities. Even if you're not trying to jacked or huge, you still want to optimize your valuable time spent training. The three main factors you have under your control are: 1: Training Frequency - How often you hit each muscle group. 2: Training Volume - How many sets and reps you do each week 3: Training Intensity - How hard you push, and how close to failure each set is Because of these three factors, group classes like CrossFit, Orange Theory, F45, HIIT, and Bootcamps often miss the mark with their more random nature. In this episode we'll explain frequency, volume, and intensity, along with what the research says. If you're ready to unlock new levels of progress without wasting time on things that don't matter, apply for coaching today: https://www.digitalbarbell.com/contact-us
Are you consistent with group training but you're not seeing the results you expected? In today's podcast I explain why that may be happening and what you can do to correct it!!!
Send me a text about the episode!Ever wondered if high-intensity workouts are the only route to fitness success? My 13-year journey, which began at the tender age of 16, uncovers the truth behind those bombastic claims. Embarking on this path with workout legends like Jillian Michaels and Beachbody, I quickly realized that lifting weights in high school gym class sparked a passion far beyond competitive sports. Yet, like many, I initially fell into the "cardio bunny" trap of burning calories to justify eating them. It took a significant shift in mindset, fueled by health challenges like Hashimoto's, to embrace a more sustainable approach to fitness that goes beyond the surface level.Transitioning from a childhood diet of fast and processed food to a more mindful and healthy lifestyle wasn't easy, but it was transformative. I recount the early days of learning to cook, overcoming my fair share of culinary blunders, and how these small steps led to a 30-pound weight loss. However, the realization soon hit that shedding pounds without building muscle wasn't the balanced approach I needed. This chapter of my life was a lesson in persistence and adaptability, shifting from a fixation on aesthetics to a holistic view of health and strength.Navigating personal health challenges, such as the hormonal imbalances caused by birth control and coping with my husband's deployment, taught me resilience and adaptability. Strength training became my solace, but it was yoga that offered healing during setbacks like a hip injury. I share how these experiences led me to become an independent trainer and advocate for moderate, consistent exercise. By establishing a baseline of lifestyle fitness, we can adjust our routines to match life's unpredictable phases, ensuring our well-being isn't sidelined by stress or circumstance. Join me in redefining fitness as a journey of growth and balance, rather than merely a pursuit of physical appearance.✅ Like the podcast? Leave a review!

Along with the clarity of thought he found the courage to make significant career changes, leading to starting a new business. He reduced his fast food intake which led to weight loss and a significant improvement in his glucose scores within 3 months We discussed the importance of educating young people about the harm that alcohol can cause I loved Davids take on sobriety as a form of decolonization and activism – an angle he used to get young people to see alcohol in a different way David's tip to anyone planning to quit drinking is to remember that the easiest drink to refuse is the first one!
