Heidi, one of the first great consulting winemakers, chose this path to have control over her time while raising her daughters. The episode delves into Elizabeth's background, from doing research in developmental neurobiology to working in a toxicology lab monitoring drugs of abuse. It was in the toxicology lab that they discovered the similarities between the machines used in that field and the study of aroma compounds in wine. Elizabeth shares her experience as part of the Stags Leap Growers Association and the creative solution they found in 2020 when half of the producers were unable to make wine. This relaxed and casual approach allows for a unique and enjoyable conversation between MJ Towler and Elizabeth Vianna, making it a memorable episode of The Black Wine Guy Experience.A Massive THANK YOU to Elizabet Vianna!!!This episode's wine, 2020 Chimney Rock Elevage Blanc and 2018 Chimney Rock Tomahawk Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Stag's Leap DistrictTo learn more about Chimney Rock, click the link!Follow Elizabeth on IGFollow Chimney Rock on IGTo learn more about The Batonnage Forum click the link!____________________________________________________________Until next time, cheers to the mavericks, philosophers, deep thinkers, and wine drinkers! On this episode of The Black Wine Guy Experience, my guest is Count Michael Goëss-Enzberg, caretaker of the historic Manincor Estate in Caldaro, Alto Adige. The historical buildings date back to 1608. They were built by Hieronymus Manincor. For his loyalty to the Crown of Austria, the Emperor elevated him to nobility status and bestowed him with land on the shores of Lake Kaltern.Hieronymus adapted his family's coat-of-arms to symbolize “Man-in-cor” (meaning “Hand on the heart”). It can still be seen on the facade of the winery building today. In 1662 his granddaughter married an ancestor of Count Enzenberg. The Enzenberg family has been growing wine grapes since the end of the 17th century. Historical documents refer to Enzenberg wine cellars in Terlano, Caldaro, and Schwaz in what is now North Tyrol. In 1978 the estate finally passed to Count Enzenberg. We hear about Count Michael's journey from California to Terlano and how he adopted biodynamic principles to ensure a natural approach to winemaking. She is on the Board of Trustees of the charity ADHD Adult UK, and she is married to the legendary Professor James Brown from Episode 5; who incidentally, was the first to point out that Sam is ADHDAF!We are so very grateful to Sam for hopping aboard the late ADHD diagnosis rollercoaster with us for one hell of a ride! This blether has been months in the planning, but the three of us are so disorganised, it's taken this long to get together! Even then, it almost didn't happen! Sam forgot, AND then Laura forgot to do the groundwork to focus on Pole dancing.  So this isn't exactly the episode we had 'planned', but we are so happy we finally caught up with Sam! This chaotic chinwag is an absolute joy.... just like the lady herself!@_mrs_adhd_ radiates infectious joy! Which is why it's hard to imagine she suffers an irrational fear that she's about to be sacked, and has held such a low opinion of herself!  At 45(possibly) she feels like a six year old, who only wants to play and be upside down. A form of stimming, which Dawn and I both did as children. This love of being upside down has led Sam to a passion for pole dancing.Alongside a lot of laughs, and hardcore relatable feelings; Sam shares some insight into the Right to Choose option with Psychiatry UK (unfortunately not available in Scotland). She also talks about sex.Entirely unplanned, Sam divulges that undiagnosed ADHD effected her sex life prior to meeting the love of her life. In investigating sex as a topic for an upcoming episode, we discovered two main camps in experiences. Sam shares one of these; infidelity in her youth. So just to make sure nobody gets the wrong impression(!) her pattern of being unfaithful to partners is HISTORICAL! Way before she met James(!) the couple are VERY happily married, and their ADHD diagnoses (and the unmasking that entails) has made their already rock solid relationship even stronger! When we recorded, Sam was only 2 days into titration, and was yet to feel any effects of the low dose of ADHD medication prescribed. We will catch up with Sam at a later date to hear her progress, and we really look forward to speaking to this absolute legend again! THANK YOU SO MUCH SAM!Also a MASSIVE THANK YOU to our Patrons! After months of persuasion, we finally mustered the bravery to set up a Patreon.  As ADHDAF has grown rapidly, we have had to reluctantly admit that it has become unmanageable, and have been forced to ask for help in order to continue creating this podcast. If our podcast has helped you; we are asking that (if you are able) you help us via a monthly pledge; which will enable us to continue helping others. Our late ADHD diagnosis rollercoaster ride is currently in a trough. But despite us both finding ourselves in the midst of a bit of a depressive episode, this is not a depressing episode! We kick off with some ranting about the appalling Guardian article that has left the ADHD community feeling like the butt of a very bad joke. Thank you to everyone who has shared our open letter to The Guardian. Here's a link if you've not seen it and would like to encourage an apology: https://www.instagram.com/p/CkiaofRqKub/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_linkWe are very happy to be reunited, and sharing our first blether with just the two of us in three weeks. It's taken Laura going on holiday to realise that she had been existing in a constant state of burnout for the last six months, and that she had gotten into the habit of equating her self-worth to her ridiculous and unsustainable productivity level. Meanwhile, whilst Dawn was left steering the ship solo she came to the realisation that depression has crept in.  Feeling as though everything is on top of her; the way ADHD presents for her being that she doesn't feel her emotions until they are at breaking point. The VERY good news is that Dawn FINALLY has a date for her private ADHD assessment, and it is SOON! Monday 14th November, and we hope that this date is THE date! We will be doing a special episode sharing her experience, which will hopefully be a lot more positive than the last, with Dawn finally getting the answers she has waited so long for.   Dawn wanted to share the NHS ADHD diagnosis experience on the podcast and therefore (unnecessarily!) feels some guilt about going down the private route. But it really is essential for her mental health that she starts receiving the treatment and support that she desperately needs. She is so incredibly grateful to you all for your donations, enabling her to go private, which she otherwise wouldn't have been able to do, so a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all who have donated! If you would like to make a donation to Dawn's assessment, you can do so here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/adhdasfemalesWe have come to the realisation that how we are currently doing things just isn't working. We want to provide a better service in which we don't lose messages due to the sheer volume we receive daily, and we want to be able to do MORE! More activism, more connection. So we are going to be starting a community platform. We believe that in creating this we can do better work and be able to continue ADHD As Females, which in it's current form - despite all the will in the world - has become unmanageable.  We look forward to sharing our new chapter with you next week. As ever we are so grateful for your support and encouragement and are in awe of the ADHD online community. We really are all in this together! Trigger Warning* This episode features strong language and some topics that some might find distressing, such as: depression, grief, bereavement, ableism, mental health struggles , suicide, addiction, eating disordersSupport the show

Just so you know, this article is NOT about what you think it is.—> Last chance to subscribe before I start sending this out to SUBSCRIBERS ONLY 5x WEEK. ———-> The free letter will still go out 1x a week no worries. You thought this article was about “getting to know the right people” didn’t you?About building up your “Linked In connections”, or something crappy like that…. :)Nope. It’s about this graph. “But Kale, graphs are BORING”. No, they aren’t. This one is pretty life changing. Here’s what it means. If you had invested in Apple, Amazon, Facebook, or Google, back in 2012, you would be rich.I can hear it now…DUH!!!!But wait a second, that’s just your hindsight bias talking. Ever heard the saying, everything in hindsight is 20/20?Yeah, I’m willing to bet many of you DIDN’T invest in those 4 companies back in 2012 (I didn’t either). And why was that??Because most people didn’t (and still don’t) understand the POWER of a NETWORK EFFECT BUSINESS. What’s a network effect? The best example is a phone. If only 1 person had a phone it would be useless, right? No one to call.If 2 people get a phone the phone’s network becomes twice as valuable. And so on.Same thing happened with Facebook. There’s nothing proprietary about Facebook. I could start the “Kalebook” right now if I wanted to. But GOOD LUCK getting 2 BILLION MONTLY USERS to switch over to the “Kalebook”. The network effect is simply too powerful. Does that make sense? The crazy thing about that graph above is that they all played out the same way. Apple = The Mobile NetworkGoogle = The Search NetworkFacebook = The Social NetworkAmazon = The Shopping NetworkBack in 2012, they all had similar Market Caps (meaning they all had similar overall company values). And today, they are unquestionably 4 of the most powerful, influential, and MASSIVE companies on the planet. Good luck starting the next Apple, Google, Facebook, or Amazon. It’s nearly impossible, because their NETWORK EFFECTS are almost insurmountable. So, normal people like me and you have only one choice.GET AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE NETWORK. As a user of any of those platforms? You are just the PRODUCT.Shop on Amazon? Use google? Scroll on Facebook? Using an Iphone?Yep, we all do. But in order to MAKE MONEY from those networks, you have to get CLOSER to them on the SUPPLY SIDE.Sell a product on AmazonRank your website up higher on Google.Run Facebook Advertising.Create an App. The closer to the source, IE, the more INFLUENTIAL you are on each platform, the richer you will be.“but Kale, why can’t I just buy stocks of those 4 companies and I’ll get RICH??”Sorry bud, it’s TOO LATE. The cat is out of the bag.Everyone KNOWS these 4 companies have won. That’s already priced in. I personally don’t want to bet on these companies becoming 10x larger. Sure, it could happen, but is it as likely as it was back in 2012? Nah. But what if I told you there was another network that is exactly like FB, AMZ, GOOG, and AAPL, but NOW. It’s called, (drum roll please) BITCOIN. (I told you the title didn’t give away this article!)Bitcoin is “only” a 200 Billion Dollar Market Cap right now…But it shares all of the similarities to those 4 I listed above (plus improves on many of them).A DOMINANT market positionA network of crazed loyalists who won’t shut up about the “brand”Technology that is at least 10x better than the thing it replaces*note* Bitcoin is considered a “digital gold” - it is likely more than 100x better than Gold in a vast number of ways, but that’s another article.A massive untapped market that can be quickly and frictionlessly on boardedThe list goes on. I don’t need to laud Bitcoin any more in this article but I’ll leave you with food for thought. 1) How CLOSE are you to the “Sun”? (big network effect companies like AMZ & AAPL). Can you get CLOSER and thus PROFIT?2) What if there are other assets that have the same properties as the biggest companies in the World, but that aren’t as well known yet? Would you benefit from owning them before everyone else catches on?Kalep.s. I just want to give one more MASSIVE THANK YOU to anyone who has read or listened to “The Kale Letter” so far…True to my word, I’m cutting off all these free letters. If you are subscribed, you will still get it 5x a week starting Monday. If not, I’ll send the free one sometime during the week.Appreciate you, seriously. The Novel:Make Me Hate You The Author:Kandi Steiner The Not-so-Noobie: Ariana (@arianareadsbooks)The Synopsis:If he kisses me right now, I’ll drown.Every sip of air is shallow and burning, because in the arms of my best friend’s brother, I’m the closest I’ve ever been to sin.His eyes flick to my lips, and I remember the first time I tasted him, seven years ago before I left this town and vowed never to return. His hands grip my waist, and I remember the pain when he rejected me, when my entire world crashed down at his command. His jaw clenches, and my senses come alive with one stinging reminder.I’m not his to kiss, and he’s not mine.I tried to stay away from Tyler Wagner, putting an entire country between us. But when his sister’s wedding brings us back to the same town, to the same house, I can’t avoid him, no matter how hard I try. He’s always there, his dark eyes bewitching, luring me into their depths. The memory of us pulls me under like a rip current, and when he flashes that smile, I lose my breath, along with my will, unable to escape his grip and find the surface. Now, hours before our plus ones arrive for the wedding, I’m in his arms, begging him to make me hate him, knowing he never could. If he kisses me right now, I’ll drown. And I’ll take him down with me.Show Notes:- Sponsored promo for Crushing It - Welcome to the July Book Club with Ariana- Special Thanks to Valentine PR & Literary Management - The romance series I'll continue to recommend to every reader: The Bluewater Billionaires (00:03:49)- Our shared appreciation and love for the "Core Four": Pippa Grant, Claire Kingsley, Lucy Score, and Kathryn Nolan- Ariana's masterful make-up looks - catch them on IG!- Why don't we have more book covers featuring women and JUST women?- "There was enough space for Aaron Burr and Hamilton"...- Ariana's Reading Recommendations (00:13:00)- Want to join another book club? Episode 6 of Pearcey Presents gets a glimpse in the Cali Mafia and Colombia’s Wild Side as told by Australian writer Austin Galt - WHITE NIGHTS: A COLOMBIAN ODYSSEY, a man that has lived the life and partied like you could only imagine. As well getting to know the man behind this incredible story.“Austin arrived in Colombia looking for a life less ordinary. He found it - or did it find him? On Austin's first day in the country he was hauled off a bus to look down the barrel of a gun as he was detained and questioned by the AK-47-toting Revolutionary Armed Forces. Welcome to Colombia!”“In the days, months and years that followed, Austin travelled all over Colombia, tracing the Narcos' trail and walking in the shadows of drug lords such as Pablo Escobar and the Cali Cartel. While meeting local gangsters and international coke traffickers, he attended underworld parties and was lured into the sex, drugs and danger-fuelled life of an underworld kingpin.”To Find More Information On WHITE NIGHTS: A COLOMBIAN ODYSSEY please visit https://www.panmacmillan.com.au/9781760555481/Want to know where to purchase a copy of this wonderful book??Available from Booktopia & Dymocks and all good book shops.***We are also giving away a signed copy of WHITE NIGHTS: A COLOMBIAN ODYSSEY as part of the Pearcey Presents Prize Booty. EPISODE 100!!! To celebrate our 100th Episode, we wanted to do something special for both ourselves and our listeners. So for us, that was getting our first ever interviewee back on the show to catch up and talk about everything and anything. Tarke Cat was our first ever interview in Episode 13, so 87 episodes later, we were wonderfully pleased to be able to have him back! So much has happened since we last had him on the show, both in PoE and the real world. We wished we could have gone on for much longer (so enjoy After Dark Patreons!) but we squeezed in as much of everything about GGG, Path of Exile, and life as we could. Thanks, Tarke for making Episode 100 so great! And last but not least, a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of our listeners! You've made this hobby of ours such a fun experience! It's so neat for us to think that we're a positive part of your weekly lives. Thank you so much for your support and here's to another 100 (or thousand)! Cheers, eh?Also, though we're an audio-only podcast, we thought E100 would be a fun time to do a video version of the show.
