He has students all over the world and often travels to teach seminars in Europe and other parts of the world. In this episode, Brandon and I talk about his plan to get Jiu-Jitsu into the Olympics in 2028. Brandon has recently been contacted by United World Grappling and USA Grappling to help get Jiu-Jitsu into the Olympics through the official qualification process.  Last year, Brandon's company the AGF hosted qualifying tournaments to send BJJ athletes to the United World Grappling championships in Kazakhstan. The hope is that if enough attention can be generated around the world championships, then we can get Jiu-Jitsu into the Olympics in 2028 by showing that there is a lot of interest in United World Grappling. For this to happen, we need to get behind the United World Grappling organization and support their world championships to show the Olympic committee that there is enough popular support around the world to support BJJ in the 2028 Olympics.  Brandon also details the rules of the United World Grappling competitions and why the rules at the Olympic Games would not prevent other organizations (like ADCC or the IBJJF) from continuing to use their own rules sets.  Share this conversation with someone so we can get more support for what United World Grappling is trying to do! Kit Dale received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in only four years. This achievement makes him one of the fastest individuals to ever earn a black belt in the martial art.  Not only did he achieve his black belt in a remarkable amount of time, but he backed it up with wins in high level tournaments. Kit racked up an impressive amount of wins in between 2013-2017. He made his way to the ADCC world championships after a win at the Japanese ADCC Trials in 2017. After his time of competing in high level grappling events, Kit decided to make a career change. Kit wants to associate the "Kit Dale" brand with film making, rather than Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He now spends most of his days writing and working on his latest screenplay. Wanting to give back to the Jiu-Jitsu community, Kit has designed a program to help BJJ practitioners level up their game using some of the methods he has developed over the years. In his latest course, Kit introduces the concept that playing "task based games" is better than the standard way that Jiu-Jitsu classes drill and practice. On this episode of the Jiu-Jitsu Outlet show, we talk about why drilling in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is useless and why playing games is a better way to actually learn and develop. We also talk about how training in BJJ has helped Kit's mental health and what principles he feels writing, film-making, and martial arts have in common. Training in martial arts like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Judo, wrestling, & Muay Thai is my outlet for improving my mental health and becoming a better person.  Shop our apparel line made for the Jiu-Jitsu athlete at https://jiujitsuoutlet.com/ On the 81st episode of the Jiu-Jitsu Outlet show, I get to chat with 10th planet Jiu-Jitsu black belt PJ Barch. PJ grew up training in wrestling and found it to be a fantastic outlet for himself as a child. Dealing with bullying growing up, PJ was left feeling insecure in his ability to defend himself. After training in wrestling, this changed. Years later, now a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu under the legendary Eddie Bravo, PJ has gone onto become one of the best grapplers on planet earth. In this episode, PJ Barch shares his journey from an insecure young kid into a veteran of ADCC, Quintet, and some of the toughest grappling events in the world. We talk about the lessons he has learned from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling and we dive into how competing in high level tournaments like ADCC impacted his mental health. PJ gets vulnerable in this conversation and shares about the difficulties he has had with OCD and addiction. If you or someone you know has struggled with this before, make sure you watch and share this episode. Thank you to PJ Barch for sharing his story and helping us better understand how combat martial arts influence mental health and life off the mats. Training in martial arts like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Judo, wrestling, & Muay Thai is my outlet for improving my mental health and becoming a better person.  Shop our apparel line made for the Jiu-Jitsu athlete at https://jiujitsuoutlet.com/ On the 80th episode of the Jiu-Jitsu Outlet show, I had the honor of hosting Dr. Rhadi Ferguson once again.  Dr. Ferguson has competed in Judo at the Olympics, at the ADCC world championships of submission grappling, at the IBJJF world championships, and also as a professional MMA fighter. Now retired, he teaches Judo and Jiu-Jitsu to students out of his academy in Florida. He currently holds the rank of 6th degree red & white belt in Judo and 4th degree black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. You can find our first conversation here...  Part one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4vR5Kpf9O8 Part two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwQ6PcyYbJA&t=2s In this episode, Dr. Ferguson joins us to discuss the principles of the martial artists - namely Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In this exclusive interview, Dr. Ferguson shares about why Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is actually Judo. If we want to know the principles of Jiu-Jitsu, we should look to Judo and the teachings of Sensei Jigaro Kano.  We also discuss the principles of combat and why long-passed martial artists like Jigaro Kano, Musashi, and Sun Tzu hold the answers to our questions. Dr. Ferguson also discusses the need to focus on the martial element of the arts we practice. He also shares why it is important to always focus on getting top position instead of playing a "guard" based bottom game that has become common in modern BJJ. Although many will not agree with his opinions about Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, they are rooted in historical evidence.
