He'll keep her around, but only until he finds perfection. Lay of the Land Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015 Our Take: Fruity, but not sweet. Very good... We all drank 2 bottles. Bright cherry notes and yummy red fruit. This is like a triumphant chorus of Pinot Noir with a lean elegance and brightness that really differentiates it from our Californian Angel-funded Pinots! Angels loved Lay of the Land Sauv Blanc, and we couldn't wait to see what Mike would deliver if we asked him to make an iconic New Zealand red. There's a fresh, almost breezy quality here that you'll only get out of New Zealand Pinot and we're sure it's going to be flying out of stock. Get in now before you miss out. Food suggestions Wild Marlborough pork or roast / BBQ chicken. Always good versatile wine for anything that comes off the BBQ

Instead of making a traditional Chianti, Stefano blended in some world-class grape varieties like Syrah and Cabernet to give this wine more punch (a trick he also uses when making hundred dollar Super Tuscans). This is your Tuesday pizza wine. You can open a bottle without mortgaging your house and it will turn a simple pizza pie into a romantic night in Florence.

Is it different for boys and girls? Have you ever been caught pleasuring yourself? Have you ever been caught? JC van Staden Petite Sirah 2014 Our Take: Sweet, but not too sweet. Great wine and good with anything or all by itself. Dark, dense and intense – Petite Sirah just loves Lodi. And it packs BIG flavor. It's anything but "petite" – full-bodied and decadent, take your time to enjoy this beautiful wine. JC's made wine in Lodi for over a decade -- he knows where the best Petite Sirah is hiding and he has the connections with those grape growers to get first dibs. This wine comes from sustainably grown vineyards and packs some serious punch thanks to your funding. Ribs, my friend. Smothered in BBQ sauce and dripping with deliciousness. That's what you pair with this Petite Sirah.
Dawn,T, Red, M and Alpha review Cinderella Ate My Daughter. Alpha and T interview some test subjects and see if the "girlie-girl" culture has devoured them. Cinderella Ate My Daughter: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the New Girlie-Girl Culture Written by: Peggy Orenstein Narrated by: Peggy Orenstein Length: 6 hrs and 12 mins Unabridged Audiobook Release Date: 06-12-12 Publisher: HarperAudio Pink and pretty or predatory and hardened, sexualized girlhood influences our daughters from infancy onward, telling them that how a girl looks matters more than who she is. Somewhere between the exhilarating rise of Girl Power in the 1990s and today, the pursuit of physical perfection has been recast as a source - the source - of female empowerment. And commercialization has spread the message faster and farther, reaching girls at ever-younger ages. But, realistically, how many times can you say no when your daughter begs for a pint-size wedding gown or the latest Hannah Montana CD? And how dangerous is pink and pretty anyway - especially given girls' successes in the classroom and on the playing field? Being a princess is just make-believe, after all; eventually they grow out of it. Or do they? Does playing Cinderella shield girls from early sexualization - or prime them for it? Could today's little princess become tomorrow's sexting teen? And what if she does? Would that make her in charge of her sexuality - or an unwitting captive to it? Those questions hit home with Peggy Orenstein, so she went sleuthing. She visited Disneyland and the international toy fair, trolled American Girl Place and Pottery Barn Kids, and met beauty pageant parents with preschoolers tricked out like Vegas showgirls. She dissected the science, created an online avatar, and parsed the original fairy tales. The stakes turn out to be higher than she - or we - ever imagined: nothing less than the health, development, and futures of our girls. From premature sexualization to the risk of depression to rising rates of narcissism, the potential negative impact of this new girlie-girl culture is undeniable - yet armed with awareness and recognition, parents can effectively counterbalance its influence in their daughters' lives. Cinderella Ate My Daughter is a must-read for anyone who cares about girls, and for parents helping their daughters navigate the rocky road to adulthood. Dominic Hentall Sangiovese Negroamaro IGT Puglia 2014 Our Take: Great wine with or without any pairing. Sangiovese Negroamaro IGT Puglia 2014 Dark violet intense color, with cherry and peppery nose from the Sangiovese and a violet floral elegance from the Negroamaro. This wine delivers a refreshing tanginess with a bit of zip. Dom sourced the finest grapes using Angel funding - and used his know-how to get them for the right price. It's all about who you know, you know! A unique southern Italian red that will have tongues wagging in delight about its natural deliciousness and near-effervesence. Food suggestions red meat dishes. Cheese. Anything really.

One thing you could do-over what would it be? The Red Villa Chianti Classico Riserva 2011 Our Take: Stronger than what we usually have. Great wine and good with anything. 90% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet CLASSIFICATION DOCG Chianti Classico Riserva TASTING NOTES The Red Villa Chianti Classico Riserva 2011 has an intense ruby red color. The nose stand out of small red fruits, currants and raspberry that blend well with cherry notes. A slight woody fades into spicy notes of cinnamon and candied fruit. The palate has a harmonic input, round with a slight acidic presence, typical of Sangiovese and the territory of origin. The silky tannins at the same time vibrant make it very pleasant finish. The aftertaste fruity and woody notes persist over time

Dawn, Red and Alpha review Love in the Time of Algorithms: What Technology Does to Meeting and Mating. Written by: Dan Slater Narrated by: Walter Dixon Length: 7 hrs and 28 mins Unabridged Audiobook Release Date:02-01-13 Publisher: Gildan Media, LLC "If online dating can blunt the emotional pain of separation, if adults can afford to be increasingly demanding about what they want from a relationship, the effect of online dating seems positive. But what if it's also the case that the prospect of finding an ever-more-compatible mate with the click of a mouse means a future of relationship instability, a paradox of choice that keeps us chasing the illusive bunny around the dating track?" It's the mother of all search problems: how to find a spouse, a mate, a date. The escalating marriage age and declining marriage rate mean we're spending a greater portion of our lives unattached, searching for love well into our 30s and 40s. It's no wonder that a third of America's 90 million singles are turning to dating Web sites. Once considered the realm of the lonely and desperate, sites like eHarmony, Match, OkCupid, and Plenty of Fish have been embraced by pretty much every demographic. Thanks to the increasingly efficient algorithms that power these sites, dating has been transformed from a daunting transaction based on scarcity to one in which the possibilities are almost endless. Now anyone - young, old, straight, gay, and even married - can search for exactly what they want, connect with more people, and get more information about those people than ever before. As journalist Dan Slater shows, online dating is changing society in more profound ways than we imagine. He explores how these new technologies, by altering our perception of what's possible, are reconditioning our feelings about commitment and challenging the traditional paradigm of adult life. Like the sexual revolution of the 1960s and '70s, the digital revolution is forcing us to ask new questions about what constitutes "normal": Why should we settle for someone who falls short of our expectations if there are thousands of other options just a click away? Can commitment thrive in a world of unlimited choice? Can chemistry really be quantified by math geeks? As one of Slater's subjects wonders, "What’s the etiquette here?" Blending history, psychology, and interviews with site creators and users, Slater takes readers behind the scenes of a fascinating business. Dating sites capitalize on our quest for love, but how do their creators' ideas about profits, morality, and the nature of desire shape the virtual worlds they’ve created for us? Should we trust an industry whose revenue model benefits from our avoiding monogamy? Documenting the untold story of the online-dating industry's rise from ignominy to ubiquity - beginning with its early days as "computer dating" at Harvard in 1965 - Slater offers a lively, entertaining, and thought-provoking account of how we have, for better and worse, embraced technology in the most intimate aspect of our lives.

What is your favorite thing about being Mom? What do you want most on Mother's Day? Did you marry someone like one of your parents, or someone completely opposite of your parents? What's the most disappointing thing about motherhood? Would you like to be like your mom? Why or why not? What things have you done that you said you wouldn't as a mom? Our Take: Good if like a sweet and fruity wine. Each varietal adds distinct characteristics that lends structure, aroma and depth of flavor. Specifically, the Zinfandel lends ripe red fruit and jammy strawberry, the Merlot contributes blueberry compote with hints of chocolate, lending silky tannins while the Petite Sirah is the backbone, enhancing the color and texture of the wine. We ferment each varietal separately before blending. Finally we age the entire blend on a unique oak regime which builds the texture and contributes to the delicious creaminess. This wine is very versatile and pairs nicely with a BLT, chili, or chocolate cake.

When lust turns to love, will Brian be able to convince Myrna that what they have is more than just a fling, and that now that he's found his heart's muse, he doesn't want to live without her? Our Take: Not good at all. Would NOT recommend. Sinful indeed! This wickedly delicious Zin is temptation at first sip. And that's not just our pride ?? talking...Blame it on the Catholic school upbringing of brothers Michael and David or their lust for hedonistically seductive wine. Our flagship Old Vine Zinfandel hails from the enviable Lodi Appellation where zin reigns supreme. Here for six generations, we've given our souls to growing the finest grapes so that saints and sinners alike can enjoy the 7 Deadly Zins. Wine Profile Tasting Notes A Lodi Zinfandel at its finest, this wine showcases the style you've come to love and expect from 7 Deadly Zins. It offers fresh ground pepper and an array of spices, thanks to the 12 months in American oak. Dawn, Red, M and Alpha review American Girls: Social Media and the Secret Lives of Teenagers Written by: Nancy Jo Sales Narrated by: Therese Plummer, Nancy Jo Sales Length: 14 hrs and 50 mins Unabridged Audiobook Release Date:02-23-16 Publisher: Random House Audio Publisher's Summary Instagram. Whisper. Yik Yak. Vine. YouTube. Kik. Ask.fm. Tinder. The dominant force in the lives of girls coming of age in America today is social media. What it is doing to an entire generation of young women is the subject of award-winning Vanity Fair writer Nancy Jo Sales' riveting and explosive American Girls. With extraordinary intimacy and precision, Sales captures what it feels like to be a girl in America today. From Montclair to Manhattan and Los Angeles, from Florida and Arizona to Texas and Kentucky, Sales crisscrossed the country, speaking to more than 200 girls, ages 13 to 19, and documenting a massive change in the way girls are growing up, a phenomenon that transcends race, geography, and household income. American Girls provides a disturbing portrait of the end of childhood as we know it and of the inexorable and ubiquitous experience of a new kind of adolescence - one dominated by new social and sexual norms, where a girl's first crushes and experiences of longing and romance occur in an accelerated electronic environment; where issues of identity and self-esteem are magnified and transformed by social platforms that provide instantaneous judgment. What does it mean to be a girl in America in 2016? It means coming of age online in a hypersexualized culture that has normalized extreme behavior, from pornography to the casual exchange of nude photographs; a culture rife with a virulent new strain of sexism and a sometimes self-undermining notion of feminist empowerment; a culture in which teenagers are spending so much time on technology and social media that they are not developing basic communication skills. From beauty gurus to slut shaming to a disconcerting trend of exhibitionism, Nancy Jo Sales provides a shocking window into the troubling world of today's teenage girls. Provocative and urgent, American Girls is destined to ignite a much-needed conversation about how we can help our daughters and sons negotiate unprecedented new challenges. Casillero del Diablo Our Take: Dry, full-bodied, smooth, mature taste for a 2014. A light long finish. Winemakers Notes Native of Cahors, France, this variety truly shines in Casillero del Diablo’s outstanding Malbec featuring concentrated sweet fruit and round tannins with aromas of blackberries and black plums with a touch of black pepper and vanilla, while flavors of spices and black plums meld perfectly on the palate. Tasting Notes ORIGIN Central valley VINTAGE 2014 SOIL Riverbench associated soils AGEING Aged in American oak barrels COLOR Intense and deep ruby red. AROMA Delicious aromas of black fruit such as berries, plums and cherries, followed by pepper and subtle touches of vanilla and black chocolate. All very well balanced. PALATE The beginning is marked by the dark plums and spices making this wine very generous in taste. The final structure is wide and round thanks to the presence of the barrels that has been excellently integrated. The after taste is long and elegant. FOOD PAIRING Harmonizes perfectly with all types of barbecues, ripe cheeses and sweet and sour sauces. Stews and herbs are another partner for this wine.

Raspberry and blackberry marry. Graham crackers and sassafras get to know vanilla and cocoa. Washington state currently holds host to over six hundred wineries, each producing wines using the many classic grape varietals which flourish in the arid, dry region to the east of the Cascade mountains. Since the Washington wine industry began in the beginning of the 19th century, great efforts have been made to irrigate the semi-desert which makes up much of the state, and the results have been enormously successful in regards to creating an environment in which a wide range of grapevines can flourish. There are certain fine wineries in the wetter western region of Washington, although these make up less than one percent of the region's overall wine production levels. Recent decades have seen red wines becoming increasingly popular in the United States, and many of those produced in Washington are considered to be amongst the country's finest produce.

A little woody, but not in the negative Tasting Notes: This beautifully layered wine is rich, complex and offers a sumptuous texture. It displays alluring fragrances and flavors of raspberry jam, dark chocolate, black cherry and pomegranate. Winemaker's Notes: Handcrafted in small individual lots throughout the winemaking process – boutique winery style, for flavor distinction. Randi, Dawn, Red and Alpha review Blood Ties Book One: The Turning Audible – Unabridged Jennifer Armintrout (Author), Elenna Stauffer (Narrator), Harlequin Books S.A. (Publisher) Narrator was good. I could tell who the characters were The story was interesting and simple The romance parts were ok, nothing crazy. Had some BDSM elements and a some disturbing horror mixed with the sex The book didn't feel complete and none of the characters were fully developed. The series has 4 books The turning, Possession, Ashes to ashes, All Souls Night Q & A Section Have you ever had a relationship with someone you knew was bad for you? Have you ever been attracted to someone and couldn't explain why? Has a man (or woman) ever touched you in such a way that it felt like they were reading your mind? OR felt so connected to someone that you thought you could read their mind or vice versa? Have you ever been in a love triangle? Overall a lukewarm feeling for the book as a whole. Dawn hated it. DeadBolt Our take: We all loved this wine. It would be great by itself. Inexpensive and delicious. Product Description Wine Tasting Notes An intriguing red wine for people who make their own rules. This a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Syrah and Syrah varietals from California. With a deep ruby, purple color, a distinctive red fruit nose and flavors of black cherry, mocha and brown spice. A blend that's not afraid to go its own way.

Red Diamond wines are bold interpretations of varietals sourced from around the world. Our Take: Would be great with steak or a heavier meal. It was a very stout wine very nice smell. Eastern Washington State’s arid climate is a world-class location for growing stylish, concentrated, fruit-forward wines. Cooler harvest time temperatures in Washington allow for more structured reds and crisper whites. Our Washington Merlot opens with a beautifully knit blackberry, cherry and spice-scented nose with a toasty oak background. Sweet fruit on the palate is complemented by medium-bodied, but firm tannins
Randi, Red, M, Dawn and Alpha review Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor From Hell Series Book 1) Audible – Unabridged R. L. Mathewson (Author), Fran Jewels (Narrator), Audible Studios (Publisher) The story was very entertaining and for about two-thirds of the book we all agreed it was a really great read. The characters were entertaining and all in all light entertaining read. The romance parts were mild and would make a good entry-level romance novel read. A very different storyline and from the usual romance novel. I hated the ending and the ladies seemed to not had much of a problem with it.

Randi, M, Red and Alpha review Bared to You (Crossfire Series, Book 1) – Unabridged by Sylvia Day (Author), Jill Redfield (Reader) on Audible. The story was interesting and the action came early and often… Like the characters. Jill Redfield read everything very well. It was easy to tell who was talking. She was able to capture the emotions of the characters. The complexity of the characters added to the story and the "romance" moments. I didn't really relate to any of the characters. This is more erotica than romance in my opinion. Q & A Section Do you fantasize about being "that" rich? Are garter belts sexy? Have you ever swooned over a man you met in person? Have you ever withheld information from your spouse because it may hurt them? Or because they may act on the info? Do you like it when your partner uses your name during sex? Red would continue on while Randi and Alpha may pick it up at a later date.
