On Monday's Mark Levin Show, despite recent close military cooperation with Israel, President Trump's want for an Iran deal has led to significant restrictions on Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. These include limiting it to a defensive war against thousands of Hezbollah missiles and drones, barring action near Beirut, and pulling back Israeli forces after responses. The U.S. would not tolerate such threats itself. Since 1948, Israel has not been free to destroy its enemies. And they've paid a price for it every time. Iran is lucky Israel is not alone, or the regime would be wiped out. Also, Gov Gavin Newsom has legalized election fraud in California by mailing ballots to every residence (regardless of moves), eliminating voter ID requirements, allowing mail-in ballots to be postmarked up to seven days after Election Day, and enabling unlimited third-party voter harvesting of ballots. These measures allow votes to be cast or delivered after initial results are known, making fraud difficult to detect or prosecute since the barriers against it have been removed by law. This sustains a one-party Democratic state. Later, Graham Platner is as a former Nazi who is now an admitted communist, has manhandled women, cheated on his wife multiple times, engaged in perverse behavior in public bathrooms, and spent years on the Kik site associated with pedophiles. Yet, Democrats dismiss these issues, urging voters to ignore them in favor of his stances on Medicare for all, destroying ICE, and defunding law enforcement. A new Graham Platner story dropped today, and it answers one question while opening about a dozen others. The reporting centers on an ex-girlfriend from his time in Washington who describes behavior that she says included being yanked out of cabs, shaken by the shoulders, blocked from leaving rooms, and subjected to bizarre conversations about violence and power. The Platner campaign does not appear to dispute many of the specifics. Instead, it continues to insist that none of this amounts to sexual assault. Their strategy is obvious: keep this campaign alive until July 10, the last day under Maine law that Democrats could replace him on the ballot.The problem is that the list of people the campaign says are actually the problem keeps getting longer. First it was the former campaign manager. Now it's an ex-girlfriend. The campaign has gone out of its way to point out that the woman worked in Republican politics years ago. Maybe that's relevant, maybe it isn't. What matters politically is that this is now the second woman in a week whose allegations are being dismissed while the campaign asks everyone to focus on Graham Platner instead. Meanwhile, the campaign's own internal polling reportedly has him four points ahead of Susan Collins. That's not exactly reassuring when a public poll from late May had him up nine. If you're releasing a poll to save a candidacy and it shows you've lost five points, that's not great.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. The dating stories are damaging, but the Kik story is the Pandora's box. That's the ugly stuff. What's behind that door? The potential answer is why this scandal continues to dominate the conversation. Platner's goal now is simple: survive the primary, survive the next month, and make it to July 10. If he's still standing then, Democrats may have no choice but to circle the wagons.Elsewhere, there was a polling shocker in Ohio. A Fox News poll found Sherrod Brown leading Senator John Husted by eight points, 53 to 45. If we start seeing more polls like that, Democrats may have found one of their best pickup opportunities. Brown is a known quantity in Ohio. If the environment continues to improve for Democrats, it may not matter how exciting or energetic his campaign is. He could simply coast on familiarity and favorable conditions.California, meanwhile, continues to count ballots at a pace that seems designed to test the limits of human patience. The governor's race is still unresolved, and Los Angeles mayoral results remain in flux. What frustrates me is that this is a choice. California mails ballots to everyone and allows ballots to arrive days after the election. Fine. But there's no reason the ballots already in hand couldn't be processed faster. Instead, the state releases vote drops so slowly that candidates can spend weeks appearing to lead or trail before the public gets anything close to a final picture. I genuinely think that's bad for democracy because people are not wired to watch somebody lead by eight points and then potentially lose weeks later.That brings us to Spencer Pratt and Nithya Raman. Prediction markets currently have Raman favored to make the general election despite Pratt holding second place. I don't understand the math. Raman gained ground in the latest vote drop, but not nearly at the pace she would need to overtake him. Maybe future batches change that. Maybe they don't. But when prediction markets start pricing in outcomes that don't seem to match the publicly available numbers, people begin assuming something else is going on. That's another reason the endless California count is so damaging. On Saturday, The Wall Street Journal published an exposé on the behavior of Graham Platner, the presumptive Democratic nominee in the Maine Senate race. According to The Journal, Platner's wife, Amy Gertner, disclosed to his campaign last August that she had discovered sexually explicit texts between Platner and multiple women on his phone last spring. Furthermore, The Journal found that Platner has an active account on Kik, a private-messaging app often used to arrange sexual encounters. Also on Saturday, The New York Times revealed that Gertner had disclosed this information to a senior aide who later left the campaign, and Platner had been sending explicit messages to up to 12 women. The reports represent the latest controversies in Platner's campaign to defeat Sen. Twelve-year-old Kiké Dueck once had such bad climate anxiety that they didn't want to eat or go to school. But then they found a solution. Kiké got involved in lobbying Regina city hall for greener transit and even joined a legal case to try to stop Saskatchewan's support of coal plants. Kiké is not the only child taking the government to task - and to court. In fact, Kiké is part of a group led by What On Earth's mental health columnist, Abhay Singh Sachal, that teaches young people how to understand their emotions about climate change and channel them into organized activism and community action.

Magyarok Amerikában, New York-i magyar történetek, magyar vállalkozó Amerikában, Mayer szörp az USA-ban, Oszter Gábor életútja és a MÓKA Podcast egyik legszínesebb beszélgetése. Ebben az epizódban egy budapesti fiú történetét ismerjük meg, aki 1989-ben érkezett Amerikába, Brooklynban nőtt bele az új világba, majd vállalkozóként magyar ízeket kezdett el vinni az amerikai piacra.   Oszter Gábor története bevándorlásról, honvágyról, New York-i magyar közösségről, vállalkozói ösztönről, Coney Island különös világáról és a Mayer szörp amerikai útjáról szól.   Gábor gyerekként nem tűzoltó vagy buszvezető akart lenni, hanem hamburgert és hot dogot szeretett volna árulni a Körúton. Már akkor is az emberekkel való kapcsolódás érdekelte, nem csak az eladás, hanem a beszélgetés, a kiszolgálás és az a különös energia, ami egy jó kereskedőben megvan.   1989. november 9-én, a berlini fal leomlásának napján érkezett családjával az Egyesült Államokba. Ő maga nem nagyon akart eljönni Magyarországról, hiszen otthon voltak a barátai, az édesapja, a kutyája, és már gyerekként is járt a Petőfi Csarnok bolhapiacára, ahol pénzt keresett. Amerika eleinte nem álom volt számára, hanem kényszerű újrakezdés.   A beszélgetésben szó van arról, milyen volt magyar tinédzserként Brooklynban iskolába járni, angolul tanulni, beilleszkedni, és közben keresni a magyarokat. Gábor mesél a high school évekről, az első magyar barátokról, a brooklyni kosarazásról, majd a Central Parkban kialakuló magyar focis közösségről. Mobiltelefon és social media nélkül, csak ismerősökön, vonatokon és beszélgetéseken keresztül gyűltek össze a magyarok.   Előkerül a régi New York-i magyar közösség világa is: Molnár Travel, repülőjegyek, bevándorlási ügyek, magyar rendezvények, magyar napok, és az a korszak, amikor a közösség sokkal személyesebb volt.   Gábor életútja nem hagyományos karriertörténet. Nem az iskolapadból építette magát, hanem az életből. Mesél a Brooklyn College-ról, Kingsborough Community College-ról, a tanulással kapcsolatos nehézségeiről, és arról, hogyan érezte már fiatalon, hogy ő inkább "street smart" típus, aki az emberek között tanulja meg, hogyan működik a világ.   Az epizód egyik legérdekesebb része Gábor első amerikai vállalkozása: cukros és snack automatákat helyezett ki Brooklynban, Brighton Beachen, Coney Island környékén, éttermekben, mosodákban, bárokban és car service helyeken. Innen jönnek a legfilmszerűbb történetek is: maffiás környezet, éttermek előtti őrök, razziák, készpénzes sztorik, és egy olyan New York, amit ma már nehéz elképzelni.   A beszélgetés második nagy témája a Mayer szörp és a Mayer's Harvest. Hogyan lesz egy magyar szörpből amerikai termék? Hogyan lehet elmagyarázni az amerikai fogyasztónak, hogy a szörp nem pancake syrup, nem cough syrup, hanem egy magyar és európai italélmény, amit vízzel, szódával, koktélokban, teában, kávéban, desszertekhez, sőt akár pácoláshoz is lehet használni?   Ez az epizód nem csak szörpről szól.
