This week, Big Dipper and Meatball celebrate the Summer Solstice the only way they know how: with grocery store cruising fake-outs, the return of the infamous “Special BLT” (still not a BLT), and a spirited defense of drag queens everywhere. Meatball is in a new movie called Lady Champagne and the Temple of Poon and reveals why her body is officially in revolt after too many gigs, while Dipper recounts surviving the gay rugby podcast attack zone. Plus, a dry-heaving fit derails the show, and the voicemails completely unravel with dirty butts, Helen Keller, safe words, and more chaos than anyone asked for. Ghost sits down with Clay Parikh, a Marine artillery veteran who was actually there, for the most personal episode of The Book of Trump yet. Clay walked through the same BLT headquarters building that was destroyed, donated blood to Palestinian civilians after IDF cluster bombing, and was days away from being the unit relieving the marines who died when Operation Urgent Fury redirected his ship to Grenada. Ghost and Clay trace the full arc: the PLO evacuation, the IDF's 18-year occupation and the birth of Hezbollah, the crippling rules of engagement that left sentries unable to chamber a round, and the mechanics of the truck bomb itself. The gut punch comes at the end when Ghost presents the LA Times piece confirming Mossad had foreknowledge and chose not to warn the US. Raw, emotional, and deeply relevant to everything unfolding in the Middle East today.
Willy Adam and DMASE discuss the impacts of the New York Knicks final run. Then debate the interesting questions asked to NHL prospects at the combine which then leads to a heated debate about BLT's

Many individuals with severe lumbar conditions—such as a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, or those recovering from a microdiscectomy—are handed the impossible "No Bending, Lifting, or Twisting" (BLT) rule. While meant to be protective, this generic advice leaves you without a practical strategy for the real world. How are you supposed to put on your socks, lift a heavy coat, or simply navigate the day without moving? Treating patients as though they are fragile and suggesting total avoidance only breeds kinesiophobia (the fear of movement). This ultimately weakens the body, restricts your independence, and leaves your spine far more vulnerable to the unpredictable, everyday strains of life. True rehabilitation is about empowerment through controlled, aggravation-free movement, not permanent rest. The reality is that your 15 minutes of structured rehab exercise is objectively the safest part of your day. Core movements like the dead bug, squat, and hip hinge in our programme are not "back exercises" that aimlessly bend the spine; they are spine protection movements. They teach you how to lock your lumbar spine in a stable, neutral position while moving your limbs safely around it. By scaling these movements down to your current capability and practising them in a highly controlled environment, you build the muscular armour and subconscious bracing habits required to protect your back permanently.Key Topics Covered
In this episode, "Robots, Werewolves, and Wonder: Picture Books that Celebrate Imagination and Culture," Jed welcomes two sets of brilliant guests who show just how magical—and meaningful—picture books can be. First, author Jose Lourenco and illustrator James Braithwaite join us from Toronto to celebrate their best-selling debut picture book, Billie Builds a Robocorn. Jose explains that Billie, a kid navigating a move and new school, builds a homemade robotic unicorn—"Robocorn"—to ease her loneliness. James shares how their early idea started as a bedtime book and evolved into a richer introduction to Billie's world, shaped by a larger creative team. They talk about designing a robot that kids could actually build from household items, their unusual author–illustrator partnership, and the long collaborative journey from shared studio space and BLT-fueled brainstorming sessions all the way to the Bologna Children's Book Fair. Then we travel to the Louisiana bayou with Johnette Downing, musician, storyteller, and author of My Parrain is the Loup Garou. Johnette reimagines the traditionally scary Cajun werewolf (the loup garou) as part of a loving, adventurous bond between a boy and his godfather. She talks about turning fear into fun, preserving Cajun folklore, and blending music and story—many of her books are singable, and this one even has its own song on her new Zydeco album. Johnette also shares stories from performing for children on five continents and why seeing the world through a child's eyes keeps the magic alive.

Top Chef Season 23 Ep 3 Recap Top Chef: Season 23, Episode 3 brings together hosts Haley Strong, Curt Clark, and Chef Jim Smith to break down a vibrant yet challenging round in Charlotte. This week, chefs tackle a Quickfire featuring the divisive ingredient liver mush, judged by Emeril Lagasse, and an Elimination Challenge demanding two naturally dyed elements inspired by the city's textile legacy. Amid bright colors and unexpected struggles, the hosts dig into what went right, and what went off the rails, on the plate. The discussion opens with the trio sharing their own food quirks and reactions to liver mush, from Jim's chef perspective to Haley's textural “nightmares.” They walk through each Quickfire dish, revealing how interpretations of liver mush led to both creative spins and classic pairings. Insights emerge around the winning BLT-inspired liver mush pâté and why certain risky choices, like French toast, fail to impress. The Elimination Challenge brings a rainbow of ambition, but not all dishes deliver the expected pop. Chef Jim explains how dyeing works best on white or clear foods, and critiques missed strategic opportunities with color application. The panel evaluates entries ranging from a playful bao trio to a “gray” parsnip purée, noting where chefs nail the assignment and where beige sauces muddy the results. The episode closes with a look at team dynamics, the fate of struggling chefs, and speculation about Last Chance Kitchen's return. Highlights include: Jim's breakdown of liver mush's cornmeal texture and its Southern roots Banter about the challenge of “rich on rich” flavor combinations and textural pitfalls Analysis of the dyed food challenge and why some chefs' creative instincts fell flat Commentary on strategy, missed opportunities with ingredients like parsnip and pea flowers, and why pasta stood out Light-hearted personal food stories and opinions on dishes like croque madame, French onion soup, and rotisserie chicken Will the next challenge inspire more colorful creativity or caution? Show Notes: Elijah Siegler recalls the day of graduation on June 5, 1992, and the prominent promotion of the movie Patriot Games, which seemed at the time an ominous omen, as graduates began to navigate their post-grad journey. Elijah shares his advice to his kids and students: "You don't need to have your whole life post-college figured out. You just need one cool thing lined up, and that'll lead to another cool thing." Elijah describes his first post-graduation job as the editor of the Greece and Turkey book for Let's Go travel guides, which he found out about due to a last-minute cancellation. A Ticket to Israel and Traveling Adventures Elijah had previously been a researcher for Let's Go Pacific Northwest in the summer of 1989. After graduation, Elijah moved back to his parents' house in Toronto, Canada, and spent time reading and applying for jobs. Elijah cashed in his graduation gift from his grandparents, a ticket to Israel, and spent six months in the Middle East, including a solo tour of the Mediterranean. Elijah used his own guidebook for the Greece and Turkey parts of his trip and mentions Gary Bass, a classmate who edited Let's Go Israel and Egypt. Exploring the Middle East Elijah enjoyed both Greece and Turkey, finding Turkey to be one of the great travel destinations of the world. He highlights the unique experiences in Istanbul and Cappadocia, including staying in cave hotels and visiting a center for Sufi culture. Elijah reflects on his visit to Syria, noting the cultural richness and the sadness of seeing the country torn apart by civil war. Elijah moved back to Toronto, spent time with family, and eventually found a job in the non-profit sector in New York. Taking a Slow Boat to China Elijah describes his temporary job in New York, living in a basement in Chelsea, and the cultural experience of living in New York City. He recounts his decision to travel to Asia, including a trip to Japan, where he received a telegram about a job in China. Elijah took a slow boat to China from Kobe to Shanghai and then trains to Chengdu, where he taught English for nine months. He shares his experiences in Chengdu, including teaching and traveling around China, and his interest in Taoism. Opening the Door to the World's Parliament of Religions Elijah attended the World's Parliament of Religions in Chicago in the fall of 1993, which marked the 100th anniversary of the original event in 1893. He volunteered at the event, met various religious leaders, and was inspired to study religion academically. Elijah decided to pursue a graduate degree in religious studies, applying to various programs and eventually enrolling at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He describes the rigorous Religious Studies Program at UCSB and his initial research on Taoism in America. A Focus on Taoism Elijah explains the concept of Taoism, the indigenous religion of China, and its focus on the Tao, a non-personal divine force. He discusses the transmission of Taoist ideas to America through popular culture, such as the TV show Kung Fu and the book The Tao of Pooh. Elijah interviewed Chinese Taoist masters who came to America and taught Taoist techniques, such as martial arts and meditation. He completed his PhD on Taoism in America and began his academic career, moving from assistant to associate to full professor. The Americanization of Taoism Elijah contrasts Taoism with Buddhism, noting that Taoism does not have a missionary impulse and is spread indirectly through practices like martial arts. He discusses the Americanization of Taoism and the role of popular culture in shaping American Taoism. Elijah shares his research on the authenticity of Taoist masters in America and the concerns within the American Taoist community about who is a genuine master. He mentions the organizational structure of Taoism in China and the challenges of defining authenticity in American Taoism. Religion and Television Elijah discusses his research on religion and television, contrasting it with the study of religion and film. He argues that television's open narrative format allows for the exploration of religious change over time. Elijah highlights the religious themes in popular TV shows and how they reflect and shape American spirituality. He plans to publish a book on his theory of religion and television combining his previous essays on the topic. A Spiritual Journey Elijah shares his personal spiritual journey, growing up in a secular Jewish household and raising his children as Jewish. He expresses a strong affinity for Taoism but does not call himself a Taoist due to the formal initiation required in Taoist traditions. Elijah teaches a class on spirituality, exploring the rise of "spiritual but not religious" individuals and the history of spirituality in America. He emphasizes the importance of interfaith dialogue and understanding different religious traditions, both in his teaching and in his community involvement. Promoting Interfaith Understanding Elijah describes his involvement in the Charleston Interfaith Council, organizing cultural and educational programming to promote interfaith understanding. He organized a Jewish Muslim Dinner in 2017, bringing together Jewish and Muslim communities for a shared meal and conversation, which has evolved into the Spirited Brunch, a self-guided tour of different sacred spaces in Charleston with snacks, promoting interfaith dialogue and cultural exchange. He encourages others to replicate these initiatives in their own communities, emphasizing the importance of interfaith connections and understanding. Harvard Reflections Elijah was in the comparative study of religion that was drawn from other departments in the Divinity School, and he mentions professor Diana Eck, who was the chair of that committee on the comparative study of religion. She started something called the pluralism project in 1991 and that summer, Elijah was in the first cohort of student employees for that so I actually got paid to go to Los Angeles and study religious diversity there and inter religious dialog, and in particular, Buddhism. She also explains why biting nipples is non-negotiable and exactly what it means when you clock Crisco sitting suspiciously next to the bed. This episode is a real mixed bag. Amy wins the year's best dressed at the office, and she's only worked there for two months. This week brings very sad news for Amy's family. Which brings us to the story of her trip to New York with a nine-year-old and an eleven-year-old. She really brings the 80s dad energy on this trip. Get ready for a full New York trip rant. Trials she endured on the trip: trying to explain religious reverence to a child, ordering food and drink no one ate or drank (You don't like tomatoes? You ordered a BLT bitch!), a child getting stuck in a revolving door, a frostbitten toe, canceled flights, and helping her adult son with double pink eye 1000 miles away. Maya learns about Jelly Cats. Finally, thanks to canceled and delayed flights, Amy just barely makes it to a funeral on time, wearing dirty trip clothes.

A teen concert turned into a full-on adventure when Jo Brown, co-host of Wonderland on Points, who used her points-and-miles playbook to design a Bentonville escape. Welcome to Printing Money Episode 33! Troy Jensen (Managing Director, Cantor Fitzgerald) returns in joining Danny to help our audience analyze the Q2 2025 earnings season. Danny and Troy parse the financials and offer impactful analysis of earnings reports from DDD, SSYS, MTLS, NNDM, and Nikon SLM Solutions (Nikon: 7731.JP), guidance from EOS and Formlabs, and a lot more. Danny opens the episode noting some recent notable private financings and Troy picks up on that noting recent uplift in public 3DP/AM companies' pricing. Despite that uplift, one theme of this episode is the far healthier multiples that Chinese 3DP/AM companies enjoy in their market. Other themes include the Nano Dimension unwind and speculation on a landing place for Markforged, and reshoring and aerospace/defense as drivers for the 3DP/AM industry, We are reviewing Q2 2025 reporting, yet we are already in Q4 -- maybe President Trump might actually temper the quarterly reporting hamster wheel. Perhaps while the President is at it, he could also mandate more punctual reporting so we can really stay current here on the Printing Money pod. Jokes and light tone aside, we encourage you to listen to this and all Printing Money episodes for informed and incisive coverage of the 3DP/AM markets. The 24th Marine Amphibious Unit (MAU) landed in Beirut Lebanon on May 29th, 1983, as part of a peacekeeping force during Lebanon's Civil War. Once ashore, the MAU's battalion landing team, BLT 1/8, took up positions around Beirut International Airport. Things escalated and the Marines began regularly taking fire. They suffered their first deaths on August 29th when Staff Sergeant Alexander Ortega and Second Lieutenant George Losey were killed by mortar fire. Then on October 23rd, the Marine barracks was attacked by a suicide truck bomber. 241 U.S. personnel were killed. This attack remains the single deadliest day in Marine Corps' history since Iwo Jima. Jack Carr and James Scott tell the story in “Targeted: Beirut”.

On today's episode of Have Kids They Said, Rich and Nicole take a nostalgic sip down memory lane with the drinks of the '90s, while we get another Top Jimmy quote. Rich professes his love for a good BLT, and they agree that couples who gossip together, stay together. Rich also shares that he's officially started demo on the pool, and the real chaos begins when they tackle the awkward line between honesty and oversharing with your kids about your... shag life (shoutout to Sara for that delightful term). This summer, we're taking you to a few spots in the south. This month, we drove to Gibsland, Louisiana, and explored the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum. It's the centerpiece of tiny Gibsland, housed in a building that used to be Ma Canfield's Cafe. Bonnie and Clyde stopped here on May 23, 1934, bought a fried baloney sandwich and BLT to go, then headed down the road in their soon-to-be "Death Car" (a stolen V-8 Ford) and got killed. Listen up as we tell you about two outlaw lovers on the run.

Host Dave Fiore talks with Matt Thompson, co-founder of For the Table Hospitality, which includes the brands Charlie Park, Social Catering, Township, Social Kitchen and Madison Social—the heart and soul of College Town. Matt's path from collecting baseball cards as a kid near Orlando to a restaurant entrepreneur has taken a number of unexpected turns. Matt came to Tallahassee on a trombone performance scholarship to Florida State, eventually earning a degree in public relations and then his master's. He would teach public speaking back home before returning to Tallahassee to take a digital marketing position at The Zimmerman Agency. But when a college buddy offered him a chance to be part of a new concept in an undeveloped industrial area in the shadow of Doak Campbell Stadium, Matt jumped at the chance. The rest is history—with a side of BLT dip.
